Episode 111- Join host Troy Saunders as he chats with the architect of the legendary group, Klymaxx; singer, songwriter, producer, business woman, entrepreneur, and so much more; The Charismatic Diva of Soul, the one and only Bernadette Cooper!Troy starts the episode off by diving into the persona of Bernadette; asking if her stage personality is any different than her private life temperament. They also converse about her youth, growing up in California and how did she started to play the drums. Of course that led into talking about the making of Klymaxx, and how Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis helped them to define their sound and message. The demise of Klymaxx and why there are three groups using the Klymaxx name. As well as, how do the ladies, that were apart of the original band, currently get along. She also made great comparisons to Shalamar and Rufus and Chaka Khan when talking about the possibility of Klymaxx getting back together... It ain't gonna happen. Bernadette also told a funny story on how the song "Meeting In The Ladies Room" came to be. What until you all hear this.Bernadette also discussed what she did after leaving Klymaxx and some of the great artists she has worked with. Troy played one of his favorite collaborations that Bernadette did with the amazing, late, great Teena Marie called "Crocodile Tears". She also opens up to Troy about some of her previous career dreams, as well as the vintage clothing store she used to own in Jersey City NJ, her passion for vintage cars, and more of her many talents. Bernadette is a multi faceted creator. Currently Bernadette is looking to collaborate with some of the more seasoned artists to show the world that they are still viable, sexy and haven't lost their talent. They discuss several possible artists and some artists that already committed to the collaboration. Which led them to her latest offering " Jealous Bitch" featuring Maxi and Cheri from the Original Mary Jane Girls. A sexy and sassy song that only Bernadette could pull off. Bernadette explains that the song wasn't made to offend. Its mission was to empower, and make people laugh. Troy and Bernadette chatted like old friends. The conversation was warm and heartfelt. This one I'm sure you all are truly going to love. We announced another Boomer & Gio Live Show, ‘With Cheese', on Friday, May 3rd at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City. Tommy DeVito will be with us and we are going to make Shaun Morash into a giant chicken parm. Boomer said there will probably be another Matt Rempe fight tonight in the Rangers/Devils game. We are trying to get Brandon Tierney involved in the show but we haven't received confirmation from him. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about the Bucs re-signing Baker Mayfield. Jerry has audio of Shannon Sharpe talking about Russell Wilson to the Steelers and Chad Johnson said he knew that already. What will the Bears do with Justin Fields if they draft Caleb Williams? The Knicks lost again and somehow only scored 73 points. Madonna was mad at a fan who was not standing up at the show. She was in a wheelchair. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Russell Wilson going to the Steelers. He's not going there to back up Kenny Pickett. Maybe that's why he's not going to the Giants. Maybe they told him he would be Daniel Jones' backup.
Hour 1 NFL free agency should really get going today at noon. Russell Wilson met with the Giants but is signing with the Steelers. Gio thinks it's going to work out for him in Pittsburgh. Boomer reminded us how competitive the AFC is, so to think Wilson is taking them deep into the playoffs is probably not likely. Kirk Cousins is going to hit free agency and many have him going to Atlanta. Boomer keeps saying Zach Wilson is going to the Vikings, but he's probably saying that just to annoy Gio. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with Baker Mayfield staying with the Bucs. The Knicks only scored 73 points in their loss to the Sixers. Knicks players said they, ‘played like s***'. Cream Abdul-Jabbar (Robbie Avila) and Indiana State lost to Drake. There was some pushing and shoving between LSU and South Carolina in women's basketball. Wilmer Flores pitched for the Tigers against the Mets. It's former Mets player Wilmer Flores' brother. They have the same name. There are two more brothers also named Wilmer Flores. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer talked about Ariana Grande's outfit at the Oscars. Gio wonders why Ryan Gosling never brings his wife to things like the Oscars. John Cena was naked with an envelope over his private parts. Hour 2 Gio was at a St. Patrick's Day party at someone's house and ‘Little Boomer' was hired to play a leprechaun. What are the Jets going to do in this free agency period? How much will they tweak the lineup? The Vikings want to keep Kirk Cousins but he is going to want huge money and a lot of people think he's going to Atlanta. With Mac Jones just being worth a sixth round pick, what is Zach Wilson worth? What about Justin Fields? If you're bringing in Fields, you are bringing him in to start. The Raiders would be a fit and the Falcons would be a fit if they don't go with Cousins. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Knicks losing again, this time only scoring 73 points. Juan Soto hit another spring training HR, his fourth. Gio wonders if the Islanders are ‘peaking too early'. In the final segment of the hour, Shannon Sharpe claims to have made $6 million on YouTube from the interview he did with Katt Williams. It had more than 60 million views. Boomer talked about how great it was to work with Shannon Sharpe and said off the air he was hilarious and had a ton of great stories. A caller wonders what the Jets are going to do for a backup to Aaron Rodgers. Hour 3 We announced another Boomer & Gio Live Show, ‘With Cheese', on Friday, May 3rd at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City. Hour 4 Will we find out today where Saquon Barkley ends up? Gio doesn't think so, because there seem to be four teams in the mix. It's hard to get a feel for what the Giants are doing this offseason. Boomer thinks the quarterbacks in the draft will go in this order: Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye. They will be off the board by the time the Giants get to their pick at six. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about the Barrett Sports Media summit. We talked about Caitlin Clark and how her going to the WNBA is bad news for college basketball. Wilmer Flores has a couple of brothers all named Wilmer Flores. And his son is named Wilmer Flores. The Moment of The Day involves our upcoming live show and how we want Brandon Tierney to be involved. Eddie goes through his Tierney drops. In the final segment of the show, we are working with Shaun Morash for our next live show instead of Peter Schwartz. Tommy DeVito is going to make him into a human chicken cutlet. Last year during the bike tour, a guy who works for Boomer's foundation fell off his bike and ‘ripped his scrotum'.

In this week's episode of 36 From The Vault we find the band playing a Sunday - Tuesday run in late-Summer 1974. The jams are deep, the country is in turmoil, and idiots are climbing the fence. This volume hears The Dead at perhaps their most exhausted, two months shy of their hiatus, but willing to explore the outer realms of their musical ideas. Like two of the three previous ‘74 Dick's Picks, this one works like a playlist, capturing some of the best - and some of the most questionable moments - of the mid-Atlantic run.Disc One begins with a wild 25min dive into expansive 70's Miles jamming by way of “Playin' In The Band” before moving into a groovy “Scarlet Begonias.” Elsewhere “China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider” shows off its 1974 breezy jamming. Disc Two is highlighted by a mellow “Weather Report Suite” which then moves into a jam proper that, while not as extended as the Dick's Picks 12 version, still highlights the sense that anything could be jammed amidst the Watergate scandal. On Disc Three we hear a stunning “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo -> It Must Have Been The Roses” segue. Later, we hear “Truckin'” take over the set through a vast jamming segment that touches on “The Other One” and “Space” before moving into a gorgeous “Stella Blue.” Disc Four is in the running for the best Discs of the entire Dick's Picks series. One of the greatest “Eyes Of The World” ever kicks us off before moving into a 38min “Playin' In The Band -> Scarlet Begonias -> Playin' In The Band” and then finally, “Uncle John's Band” closes us out. It's a stunning release for jamheads and a vivid picture of The Dead at the end of their hallowed 1972-1974 single drummer run.36 from the Vault is a production of Osiris Media. It is edited, produced and mastered by Brian Brinkman. All music composed by Amar Sastry, unless otherwise noted. Logo design by Liz Bee Art & Design. Austin K. Sanderson moved to NYC in 1998 to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Design and Production Department. After graduating with his Masters degree in set and costume design, he spent the next twenty-two years working as a designer in the American theater. In 2008 he was introduced to Jivamukti Yoga in a yoga class at a local neighborhood gym in Jersey City New Jersey. As he continued to take Jivamukti classes both locally and at the Jivamukti Yoga School NYC. Austin wanted to learn more about yoga and share with others his life changing experience brought about while practicing the Jivamukti Yoga Method. In 2011, Austin attended the Jivamukti 300+ hour teacher training program at the Omega Institute. In 2012, he continued his studies and completed his 800-hour Jivamukti Teacher Certification at The Jivamukti Yoga School NYC. In 2013, Austin and his partner Bob opened a 3000 square foot Jivamukti Yoga Center in downtown Jersey City, two blocks away from where he took his first Jivamukti yoga class. Austin is extremely grateful to his teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life. Austin views Gannon and Life as his upa-guru, a teacher who points you in the right direction. Without them Austin would have never had a full understanding of why veganism is so crucial to a yoga practice. While Austin ran the Jivamukti Center in Jersey City he continued to seek deeper teachings outside the Jivamukti method, ones that would offer a deeper understanding of the ancient teaching of yoga from its roots. It was at this point that Shri Yogishri Sudarshan Kannan came into Austin's life as a teacher and Sat-Guru. In 2020, Austin founded the Urban Sadhu Yoga Method, “a method of applying ancient yogic wisdom in a contemporary context.” He and his partner Bob are the co-owners of Urban Sadhu Yoga Shala, formally Jivamukti Yoga Center Jersey City. Austin is also if the co-founder and co-producer of Yoga Fest Jersey City, a free public yoga, music and vegan food festival held in the heart of downtown Jersey City NJ during the summer equinox. This week's second set from Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ, is one of the best of that year, in my opinion. It starts out with a smokin' Help>Slip>Frank, the Slipknot here is particularly great. A wonderful summertime 'Dancing In the Street' follows, then 'The Wheel', and 'Samson'.. again Phil is way up in the mix and I only wish I could hear him so well more often.. 'Roses' follows, with the '76 tempo.. personally I wish Donna was a bit farther up in the mix here. The rest of the set is classic Dead, starting off with a rockin' 'Not Fade Away' into Drums, then a wonderful, exploratory jam leading into the 'Other One'. This one knocks my socks off. Ship of Fools and Sugar Mag close the set with a Johnny B. Goode encore. Grateful Dead Roosevelt Stadium Jersey City, NJ 8/4/76 - Wednesday Two Help On The Way [6:20] > Slipknot! [10:21] > Franklin's Tower [11:57] > Dancing In The Street [14#:01] > The Wheel [5:57] > Samson And Delilah [6:50];[0:10] % It Must Have Been The Roses [6:59]%[1:20] ; Not Fade Away [6:40] > Drums [3:48] > The Other One Jam [5:43] > Space Jam [5:#50] > The Other One [5:03] > Ship Of Fools [7:49] ; Sugar Magnolia [11:21] (1) Encore Johnny B. YOGA BUSINESS series Part 1 Austin- Urban Sadhu .“Yoga business isn’t yoga”- David Life .We start our exploration with these wise words of my teacher and co founder of the Jivamukti Yoga method David Life. Yoga and business how do they go together and do they even go together? We live in a capitalist society, so in modern yoga, in this modern world we respond to that society in a capitalist way, but where is the bhakti in that? This and a lot more is up for discussion with three amazing beings. Austin from Urban Sadhu in New Jersey, Clare from Jivamukti Yoga Bern and Nora from India. This first episode is with Austin. We discuss seeing money as energy (shakti) running a yoga studio, his method, social issues he wants to tackle through the means of yoga like race, gender, gender identity, reproductive right, the social structure of capitalism and more. LINK IN BIO! .I personally have had some issues with the whole yoga brand thing, especially also within the method I teach, I personally feel that the “branding” part, the making money part can stand in the way of the actual teaching part, as in, I just want to teach a method and not sell a brand, or feel that I am being sold as part of that brand, so I focus on the teaching, the students, the blessings received from the founders of the method and everyday I live my yoga. So these series mean a lot to me, exploring the different ways of looking at Yoga Business, I have learned so much and I know you will too, and this is just as valuable and resonant for those who aren’t yoga teachers or students. .ENJOY! LISTEN! SHARE! LEAVE A REVIEW! It is much appreciated. .Austin worked for twenty-two years as a designer in the American theater. In 2008 he was introduced to Jivamukti Yoga in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 2011 Austin attended the Jivamukti 300+ hour teacher training program at the Omega Institute. Austin is also the co-founder and co-producer of Yoga Fest Jersey City, a free public yoga, music and vegan food festival held in the heart of downtown Jersey City NJ during the summer equinox. It was at this point that Shri Yogishri Sudarshan Kannan came into Austin’s life as a teacher and Sat-Guru. On Tonights Episode We Talk To Tom Ryan Director of Theatre of Terror and Upcoming Film Theatre of Terror 2 This episode is sponsored by Deadly Grounds Coffee "Its good to get a little Deadly" https://deadlygroundscoffee.com Support Funding For Return To Terror https://igg.me/at/Return-to-Terror/x/12861307#/ Tom Ryan was born and raised in Jersey City NJ. Since his early childhood he's had a great passion for horror films. He nurtured that passion by filming backyard VHS films, drawing his own slasher-comic series titled "Midnight", and religiously collecting every issue of Fangoria magazine. In college Tom studied the media arts for two years before eventually dropping out to work full time. With a handful of childhood friends that share in his taste for the macabre Tom recently put together an independent production company called "Theatre of Terror". With a mission to make quality low budget independent horror, they launched their first short film "Day 9" in January of 2013. Day 9 went on to secure digital distribution through SHORTS HDTV. Another of Tom's great passions is music. He's been performing in bands since the age of 17 and is the lead singer and bass player for the band "Vlad the Inhaler". The band released their first studio album "the Human Infection" in April of 2013. Vlad the Inhaler performed at the Macabre Faire Film Festival in June 2013 and Parafest in September 2013. Their 2nd album "The Aftermath" was released in late 2016. Shortly after the release of "Day 9" started work on his first feature film "FACES". Filming began in late 2013 and the production wrapped in August of 2014. The film premiered on October 10th at the Landmark Loews theater in Jersey City to an audience of over 250 people. Soon after submitting to several festivals the film was accepted to the NY Horror Show/Macabre Faire film festival (screening in January 2015). This is where the film won Audience Choice Best Feature, Best Soundtrack, and a Best Actor Award for Tom who played the lead character Frank Walker. "FACES" has recently secured distribution through Green Apple Entertainment. Besides writing and directing Tom has also appeared in several independent projects: Corrado Gadaleta's Dead Road (web series) as Sniper (episodes 5-8) Theatre of Terror's Day 9 (short film) as Tom Weber Pictures' Sheriff Tom vs the Zombies (feature) as partygoer Mark Boutros' The Collectors (short film) as Frank Devarez Films' Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead (tv series) as FBI Agent O'Malley (episode 10) Weber Pictures' Zombies Incorporated (web series) as Gerald Jones Weber Pictures' Witches Blood (feature) as Gerald Jones Bradley Creanzo's Case at Midnight (feature) as Geils Durstein Theatre of Terror's FACES (feature) as Frank Walker (Won Best Actor) Mass Grave Pictures' Theta States (feature) as Danny (won Best Actor) Jeremiah Kipp's Black Wake (feature) as the Fisherman New Needle Productions' Good Day (feature) as Eric IMDb Mini Biography By: Tom Ryan Follow Tom Here Twitter: https://twitter.com/TomTerror1 Check Out Theatre of Terrors Social Media Here Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/theatreterror/ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/TheatreTerror/ Website: www.theatreofterror.net https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPoKm4srVp0MBUDOenOhHBA Follow the Dorks Kevin @Aknuckle Tony @Tonyhas9fingers Yo Yo https://www.facebook.com/yossarian.norman https://www.instagram.com/boymeetsphone/ https://twitter.com/BoyMeetsPhone Produced by: The Dorkening Podcast Network https://TheDorkening.com Facebook.com/TheDorkening Youtube.com/TheDorke Find out more at https://wicked-horror-show.pinecast.co Send us your feedback online: https://pinecast.com/feedback/wicked-horror-show/7b024550-88f1-4fa2-8b10-bb9f1e672237
Welcome to Season 2 of 36 from the Vault: SUMMER TOUR! In Episode 12 we explore Dick’s Picks Vol. 12, from The Stanley Theater in Jersey City, NJ on September 27, 1972. Our first 1972 show in the series - and the first of three from September ‘72 in the larger Dick’s Picks Cannon, this is one of the best full shows we’ve heard thus far. Filled with great song selections, and huge jams, this is a peek into the world of The Dead post-Europe, post-Pigpen, as they were incorporating more jazz and psychedelia into their jams, and were fully connected behind the drumming of Bill Kreutzmann. The show opens with a rare “Morning Dew.” Typically a Set II closer, its appearance here overshadows Set I with an ominous feel. Later, “Bird Song” drifts like a dream before the set ends in wild fashion with a ripping “China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider” followed by an abstract take on “Playin’ In The Band. In Set II “He’s Gon” jams in a focused & medidative style before “Dark Star” hooks up for an ethereal and breezy take on the expansive jam vehicle. Elsewhere, “Cumberland Blues” rips unexpectedly, while “Attics Of my Life” offers the emotional resolution needed following a show like this. Steven and Rob focus on the impact of Europe & shows like Veneta on the band in 1972, and the transition they were about to go through as they moved into 1973 & 1974, two renowned years in Grateful Dead history. 36 from the Vault is production of Osiris Media. “You have to have fear to overcome it.” Rapper, writer, producer, MVP stops by SQR podcast and drops nothing but jewels. Wise beyond his years, MVP eloquently shares his journey from birth to present. Growing up in a single parent household in Jersey City NJ, mom instilled a strong work ethic and brutal honesty, which he appreciates to this day. Listen as he shares his mom’s honesty about Santa Clause, the responsibility that comes with having that information at such a young age and its impact on others. MVP holds nothing back in this heart to heart recap of his times in high school, which he genuinely enjoyed. On the 1st day during freshman orientation he was presented with a challenge or an opportunity which he confidently stepped up to and, in an instance, made his mark on the entire freshman class. MVP shares the disadvantages of starting high school with all the attention and his lack of commitment to his grades. Retrospectively, he speaks of the importance of education and a significant shift in his perspective on good grades throughout high school. MVP recaps a passionate “A--ha” moment when the principle sat him down and she demanded him to step up to his full potential, which he did and never forget. Talented and wise, MVP separates himself from others with authenticity. Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN2YWGURe_tTvQLiUDcuDGA www.facebook.com/sqrpodcast www.sqrpodcast.com

The family shares their passion for the plight of the wolves but for much different reasons.Theater of Terror In the late 80’s childhood friends Tom Ryan and Kurt Stahlin began filming a horror related movie review show on VHS tape called Theatre of Terror. With the stylings of Siskel & Ebert they would review films that didn’t exist and cut to scenes from those films which they themselves would act out. It was a great experience for the amateur filmmakers who eventually shared their horror home video passions with other friends including Fakhar “Nico” Mir, Summar Mir, Mike Beck, and Rody Bustamante. Together and on their own, the group filmed spoofs, shorts, commercials and anything else they could dream up. Years passed and eventually the kids grew into adults and the filmmaking came to an end. During that time they lost one of their brothers. In January of 2000, Nico passed away far too young. His death left so many of his friends and family heartbroken while simultaneously bringing them all back into each other’s lives. Talk began about getting together again and doing something Nico always loved, making movies. After a few months of discussions, some of the group sat with Christian Santiago, a cinematographer and longtime friend of Nico’s. They talked about reviving the Theatre of Terror not as a show but as a production company. Built by artists and the enjoyment of making films, they vowed budgets would never restrict them while they were so rich with imagination and ingenuity. Mike Boyd has had an ear for talent in the hip-hop world for over a decade. From St. Louis to Atlanta to New York City, Mike has managed artists like Rome Fortune and Richie Souf, and is currently the Head of Music Partnerships & Artist Relations for Gary Vaynerchuk. Mike was able to take a quick break from picking out the next big thing in music to meet up for a beer and an interview at Departed Soles Brewing in Jersey City, NJ. In this episode, Mike takes us through some wild stories of his time working in the music industry, what he looks for in the people and artists that he works with, and how the worlds of entrepreneurship, social media, and hip-hop have converged in his career. And yes, we talk about what it’s like to work closely with Gary Vaynerchuk. We discuss the ’Monday to Monday’ playlist that Mike and Gary co-curate on a weekly basis, and how hip-hop plays into Gary’s personality and strategy. After you listen, make sure to head over to PubcastWorldwide.com to leave a comment and sign-up for the monthly “Brewsletter.” Cheers!

A nice fat summer show that marks its anniversary this weekend is up for this week's Deadpod.. This comes to us from Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ, and took place on July 18th, 1972. We'll listen to most of the first set this week - this is a wonderful show, and while Pigpen isn't there (he was sick we're told).. it marks one of the first big stadium shows and I think the Dead did it up right... I especially enjoy the tempo on the China Cat (a bit slower than you're used to hearing.. ) and of course the wonderful Bird Song, Sugaree and Loser.. besides we get a Stella Blue in set 1!
