Down With Boring brings the seaside shenanigans of Rockaway Beach to your ears, as our intrepid hosts Jake and Jamie deliver a festival special recorded live from the glamorous Butlin's Bognor Regis that proves January doesn't have to be all dry veganuary pledges and forgotten gym memberships. Special guests include Isle of Wight's newest noise-makers The Pill, who've been turning heads since first appearing with a bang last year. The punk duo's singles ‘Bale of Hay' and ‘Scaffolding Man' have been building ‘quite the foundation' for future chaos – and yes, we're quite proud of that pun, thanks for asking. With a stint on the Dork Hype List Tour 2025 to come very-soon-indeed, they're our kind of band. They're joined by Brighton's own, Dork faves Lime Garden, whose debut album ‘One More Thing' landed last February to understandable acclaim – unexpected, brilliant, and impossible to ignore.

In which The Curmudgeons introduce you--again--to your new favorite band. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club spliced the neo-psychedelic swagger of bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre with the rawkin' menace of the Stone Roses, Oasis and other British bands to offer a maximal yet poignant vision of what rock 'n' roll should be. Their five-album output during the first decade of the 21st century is one of the best streaks of releases in recent memory. We analyze each album as a means of explaining why B.R.M.C. was so powerful--and so ultimately meaningful. Also... so *richtige* Bands! Juni ihren Meilenstein «Moon Safari» in Zürich – in voller Länge. Ganz.

English Teacher are on the road to a debut album that's more than worth the wait. Taking a break from roaming around Bruges to call in from separate hotel rooms, elsewhere on this week's show we'll be chatting through new music from IDLES, Crawlers, Lime Garden, Alfie Templeman, Thomas Headon and Talk Show.
This week was an experimental show: can you do a live radio show if you haven't slept in two days? If radio DJs marathoning shows for charity can, surely I, Rue can too! Cue a fun, loose, ever-so-slightly shambolic show where pulled out new CDs, did some on-air Bandcamp diving and had LIVE coverage of the Grammys from Hayden! Music by: Pet Shop Boys, The Last Dinner Party, Nothing But Thieves, Rachel Chinouriri, Silent Forum, The Knife, Blur, George Gadd, The Maddocks, Lime Garden, Master Peace, Arab Strap, Dry Cleaning, Catatonia, Nadine Shah, The Get Alongs, The Wilderness. DITZ is an English noise rock/post-punk band that formed in Brighton in 2016. The band is most well known for an erratic live show influenced by the hardcore punk and noise rock of the 80s and 90s, which sets them apart from their peers in the UK post-punk scene. DITZ consists of Cal Francis (vocals), Anton Mocock (Guitar), Sam Evans (Drums), Jack Looker (Guitar) and Caleb Remnant (bass). In this episode, a compilation of the five playlists created by each member of the band during the COVID lockdown, and published with a popular audio streaming provider (that shall remain unnamed), in May 2020. Following the release of several staggered singles over the past couple of years, Wynona will return with an EP release this summer. The first single ‘Falling Into You' is a slice of acoustic-driven power-pop with a nostalgic, Romantic sound. Produced by Theo Verney (English Teacher, Lime Garden), the song laments the ebbs and flows of an everyday and very real romantic relationship. Wynona started life in Japan where partners Natalie & Rich began their sonic journeys, creating expressive, guitar-driven pop at their home studio in central Osaka; finding comfort and a sense of homeliness in their creative output as they began to feel isolated and homesick alone in a foreign country. Upon their return to the UK, Wynona made their breakthrough to tips from an array of tastemaker titles including The Line of Best Fit, Dork, Clash and Notion, as well as being handpicked for Featured Next Wave on Future Artists by Jack Saunders.
Down With Boring is celebrating The Great Escape with a special edition recorded live at the festival, held earlier this month. Caught up in the buzz and hype of the Brighton event, Jake and Jamie are catching up with some of the most exciting new names across the three days, including Nell Mescal, Lime Garden and SOFY.
