We can hardly believe that it's almost time for this year's Great London Yarn Crawl tickets to go on sale! On this episode: Great London Yarn Crawl 2018 Update We have fewer routes, only 10 this year, to make things a little easier organizing the GLYC alongside Yarnporium. Sadly, I Knit and Fringe won't be taking part this year but a new shop is opening that will be! Willow & Lark is also on board as our yarn sponsor and we've already had some pretty lush door prizes pour in from Blue Sky Fibers. Routes will be announced on or around June 15th and tickets will go on sale on July 1st as in past years. What We're Working On  Allison has been a sewing and making fiend and has whipped up two Linden sweatshirts while also crocheting a French Market bag in linen. She's also started knitting Praline by Dani Sunshine and also whipped up a Lilly baby sweater on her knitting machine for a friend's new arrival. Rachel hasn't finished her Lilly baby sweater yet as focus has been on wrapping up her Marginalia sweater by Karie Westermann which is now off the needles, blocked and too hot to wear in this weather (of course!). Rach is also working on a new shawl design and searching for a travel project for a work trip to Amsterdam.  Yarn Crawl Season It's summer! Which means less enthusiasm about wool and knitting as it becomes too hot, but our local yarn shops still need our support! Thankfully there are things like Yarn Shop Day, World Wide Knit in Public Day, as well as Yarn Crawls all over the world to help keep us heading to our Local Yarn Stores to be part of the action. We chat about different things we can do to keep showing our support for our LYSs. Wrap Up Many thanks for joining us for another episode! You can find the podcast on iTunes and Stitcher Radio (please rate, review and subscribe!) and you'll find us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, in our Yarn in the City group on Ravelry, or in person on Wednesday nights at our knit night between 7 and 10pm at The Breakfast Club on Battersea Rise. This September 9th is the 5th Anniversary of the Great London Yarn Crawl, once again benefitting Refuge and we have planned to make it extra special for you this year so we really hope you’re going to join us us! This year we’ve got 12 awesome routes for you, each route is named after one of the lines of the London underground. NOTE OF CLARIFICATION: The team name has no bearing on your transport routs, and the shops you’re going to visit are not only on that tube line (would that were so easy for us in terms of the planning!) Tickets will be £20, which includes your goody bag (full of gloriousness, including a skein of yarn from one of our yarn sponsers: Erika Knight and The Fibre Co.), entry to the Mini-Marketplace and After Party (with door prizes and other cool stuff).  We will again be collecting items to donate to Knit for Peace, and will be having a raffle for a grand prize basket of goodies! *** Many thanks for joining us for another episode! Knitting Fail 4:47 Stella Maris - Started row 5 in Chart 2 and realized I’d dropped a stitch in row 3 or 4 and it had unraveled.  Thankfully I’d put a lifeline in the last row of Chart 1 Empire Top – way too big!!!  I got gauge, or super close – only off 1 st over 4 inches, but it’s still 2-3 inches too big.  I’m going to frog it and re-start.  On the up side, if I wait to re-start to the 20th of June I can participate in the Clors of Fall KAL with the Yarniacs – never had a chance to do a KAL with them before.  Can you tell I’m desperately looking ofr a bright side to wasting 500m of knitting during Stash Dash? Pattern Stalking Nordic Yoke Set Pullover from Yarnspirations – free pattern.  Thing 1 has asked my more than once to knit him a new sweater for the fall (He grew out of last year’s by January) – and since I’ll be knitting myself a colorwork sweater and his baby brother a colorwork hat, I decided to knit him a colorowk sweater too.  It calls for 3 colos of DK weight.  If I tweak the pattern to be 5 colors, then I have more than enough of Valley Yarns Longmeadow in my stash -  a discontinued cotton/acrylic blend that is machine washable Star Wars Doubleknit Scarf by notanicedragon – free on Ravelry.  found this beauty while looking for sweater ideas for Thing 1 – I NEED TO MAKE THIS for my husband!  It is absolutely perfect for him.  I’ve never double knit, so I’m looking for classes.  Can anyone recommend one?  Craftsy must have one. Out and About Worldwide Knit in Public Day – knit at son’s karate class and at a farm where we took in-laws for ice cream On the Run I walked a 5k!  Walked, not run, but it’s a start.  Thing 1 has been asking to run a race with mommy and daddy, so we signed all 4 of us up for the Color Run at Gillette Stadium.  Original plan was Thing 1 to run with daddy and me to push Thing 2 in the jogging stroller with a plastic rain cover to put over it during the  “color” parts.  Because of the sudden high heat, plans changed.  Thing 1 and daddy ran 1k and then walked & rode in the footwell of the stroller about half the race but he had fun and Thing 2 had fun too, once we got moving.  He hated the corrall.  He even ended up green when some teenager took a handful of colored powder and threw it without looking.  It went right through the stroller cover. In the Garden Deck plants are thriving.  Garden plants still not too happy – we’re now back in the 90s again and they are not thrilled with the heat after weeks and weeks of cold rain.  Fingers crossed that when temps even out later this week they decide to grow.

Rachel has been doing very little knitting or spinning of any kind as work has been completely insane. Crochet Circle Podcast

Hello Crochet Circlers,   Welcome to The Crochet Circle Podcast and the show notes from Episode Seventeen - Festival of Finishing.   In this episode I cover: Wolf woman of Cheshire; Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2018; Old dog, new tricks; Festival of Finishing CrAL; FOs; WIPs; Feeding the habit; Big up and What's good?   This podcast is sponsored by my online crafting company, Provenance Craft Co.  Thanks to everyone who tunes into the podcast whether it is through Stitcher, Podbean, Spotify, iTunes or the YouTube Channel. Your support and engagement are really appreciated and makes running a podcast very special and worthwhile.    If you would like to support the podcast, you can do that through Patreon:   1 - Old dog, new tricks On the back of the 'standing crochet stitch' tip that Claudia from the Crochet Luna Podcast gave me.     Eleanor kindly passed on links for the 'starting crochet stitch' which gives a new technique for starting a new row or possibly round in the same colour. Please ignore that fact that I referred to 'standing' crochet during the podcast, I meant 'starting' crochet.    Eleanor's link was to a blog by Tamara Kelly from Moggly.com: Starting dc (tr in UK terminology)   A little further investigation brought me to this site by Jessie at Home which also gives details for starting dc (sc in US) and starting htc (hdc in US).     I have investigated the differences when you use this technique in rows but want to do more to see how it can be used in the round, if at all.       I have pulled together a blog post on using the standing dc to show how to do it and the results that you get compared to the standard turning chain method.    2 - Festival of Finishing CrAL Our latest along is the Festival of Finishing Craft Along.  The idea is that through the months of June, July and August you work with some of your crafting WIPs.  I now have two (cross stitch and knitting) that I want to work on and one to salvage.     The graphic for the CrAL looks like this, and you will see it on Ravelry and Instagram.       I have been thinking long and hard on the reasons that projects become long-term WIPs and why we consequently get hung up about them and can even begin to feel some level of guilt.    Rather than add all of the detail into the show notes, I wrote a detailed blog about it instead.  It's full of pointers and will hopefully help you to view your long-term WIPs in a positive and re-energised way.   Grab a cuppa and take a look at 'Why you don't finish projects and what you can do about it'.   I would love you to get involved with the CrAL and share what you are up to within the Ravelry thread in The Crochet Circle Podcast Group or by using #FestivalOfFinishing on Instagram.   A pile each for: finish, frog, salvage or donate will really help you to work out what you could do with each project.  Three of my WIPs are now going to be heading off to the Blanket of Love and Hope project in Sweden to be sewn into a larger blanket and distributed to women that need a woolly hug - thanks Yael for telling me about the wonderful project that you, Emmie and Hedvig do.         As an additional element, via my company Provenance Craft CoI am going to donate £1 for every finished object (that was previously a long-term WIP) that is added to Instagram using #FestivalOfFinishing, or added to the Ravelry thread.   The amount will be capped at £150 and I would LOVE to reach that target.  The charity that will benefit from the money is Knit for Peace. Here is what they do:   Our policy is to encourage people to give, whether it is time or money. So we set about finding outlets. We now distribute regularly to over 200 outlets, including hospitals, women’s refuges, refugee drop-in centres, prisons, community groups, and hospices as well as to developing countries. We send the knitting (and crochet) to where it’s needed. We also pass on donations of yarn and needles to enable people on low incomes to knit. The operation has grown organically, and we estimate we have over 15,000 knitters. Send your knitting to us and we will make sure that it goes to a good home.   If together we finish 150 long-term WIPs, the £150 that I will donate will help to deliver over 750 woollen items to people that really need them.   Feel free to also join in with the charitable donations and give £1 or more for every WIP you have that becomes a finished object.   Here is the 69-year-old WIP that Ros's Mum kindly let me photograph.       As I was pulling together the information for the show Jojotwinkletoes put this up on Instgram and it sums up beautifully (well maybe not) what I intend do after my long-term WIPS has become finished object.        3 - Finished Objects  Once again, I didn't think I had much to show for myself, and once again I was wrong!     1 - Another version of Doppio Colosseum but this time in John Arbon Devonia 4 ply in 'Pollen Gold'. 2 - A pair of charity socks for the Sock Line by Winwick Mum. 3 - A first attempt at a cotton dishcloth by Jo at Feather and Thread.  Check Jo's patterns out and see her photo of them below - they are much nicer than my attempt (partial blame to the fact that I was gripped by Broadchaurch whilst crocheting it).       4 - I was shown this pattern for face pads by Lisa and they are fantastic!  The pattern is by Designs byZula and gives a lovely squishy pad for washing your face and taking off make up.   I have also been working on a couple of designs:     Versa is the second complete bag in the range that I am working towards and is being tech edited as I type, along with the below shawl. I discovered post-crocheting it that the shawl seems to be very heavily influenced by a cottage that I owned (pre-Matthew) in Chirk, North Wales. Clearly, the gothic windows that dominated the estate worker's cottages stayed with me:     My final FO for the month was the Miso shawl by Ambah O'Brien using Tia Merino in The Mysterious Cities of Gold colourway by Countess Ablaze.  I knitted this shawl as part of a KAL with my favourite new knitting podcast Fibre Friends. I wasn't initially sure about a single-ply yarn for this shawl but the result is beautifully squishy:       4 - Works in progress There is only one WIP this month and that is a grey cotton bag - the next in the range.  You can see it in the photo for the 'starting dc crochet' rows above - there really isn't much much to show you with that design yet.   5 - Feeding the habit Only one thing to show here and that is a gorgeous citrus bag by Ann from Busy Pottering:     It came with a lovely notions pouch and some stitch markers - I love them!   6 - Big up There are some great new crochet podcasts out there: Hannah from Florida has The Cozy Cottage Podcast on YouTube Lindsey from Lottie and Albert is also on YouTube Alyson and Vivian have a lovely Mum and daughter audio podcast that airs on YouTube called Keep Calm and Carry Yarn There is a new thread in the Ravelry group for people to add in any CALs/KALs that they know about.   7 - What's Good 10th June is World Knit (and crochet) in Public Day. I am holding a small event in Sandbach at The Old Hall between 11am and 3pm if anyone is local and fancies joining in?     I have been listening to the amazing Norse Mythology audiobook, written and narrated by Neil Gaiman.  I will listen to this again in the not too distant future!    Matthew has been on gardening leave and is currently working on what happens next...   It has been lovely to be able to spend more time with him as the pressures of his old employment cease to exist!  We have a lovely summer ahead of us and I am searching for coastal areas that we could live in.  Watch this space.   Until July folks.     Fay x   Instagram: Crochet_Circle_Podcast  Instagram: provenance.craft.co   Instagram: FayDHDesigns YouTube: The Crochet Circle Podcast Crochet Clan on Mighty Network: Invite

Rachel is back in the co-pilot seat after the holidays, and we talk about project monogamy (is that a thing?), upcoming yarn celebrations and get two of our knit night regulars to tell us about their creative collaborations in colour and yarn. News and Events 6 May: Yarn Shop Day! A few shops have helpfully let us know that they have some big things planned for this special day Countess Ablaze in Manchester will be having a pop-up shop featuring BritYarn, Whistlebare and The Little Grey Girl to sell their goodies! Details here. A Yarn Story in Bath will be celebrating Yarn Shop Day and their third anniversary with cake and the launch of the colours for their bespoke yarn, Walcot Yarns. There are a few other surprises in store so be sure to pop in if you're in the area! If you’re in London, Yarn Shop Day would be a perfect day to explore the East London Yarn Triangle where you can visit Knit With Attitude, Wild & Woolly (also celebrating their three year anniversary) and Fabrications.  10 June: World Wide Knit in Public Day on Saturday, June 10th! Check out their website to find an event near you. Make Happy While on holiday, Rachel finished the shawl design that was kicking her butt (and freaking out her yarn support!), which will released shortly. The only other project she took with her was her Kippen Cardigan, and she's now working on the second sleeve with a lot of collar to go. This past week she also started spinning up some fibre for a collaboration with two colleagues of the woolly variety, which is slated for release this autumn. Allison is anxiously awaiting the delivery of her SGY Joji Mystery KAL kit from Vancouver (she got Kitsilano) and is in the meantime working on a baby blanket for friend. Colourful Collaboration Our knit night includes a whole bunch of wonderfully creative and inventive people, and we are thrilled to have been able to get two of them to come talk to us for the podcast! Lola Johnson, otherwise known as Third Vault Yarns, and Kate Bostwick, who designs under the Cowtown Knits label, tell us about their relationship with colour, their sources of inspiration, and their collaboration which has produced two gorgeous kits - Lambton Panes and Chainlink Mitts - with more to come! Wrap up Many thanks for joining us for another episode of the podcast and super huge thanks to Lola and Kate for being with us! You can find it on iTunes and Stitcher Radio and you'll find us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, in our Yarn in the City group on Ravelry, or in person on Wednesday nights at our knit night at The Goat on the Rise  between 7 and 10pm. Have a great couple of weeks and we’ll chat with you soon!  Music credits (available on NoiseTrade) Ridiculously Happy (feat. Twilight Meadow) - Owl City

Rachel is away at the moment so Carmen from A Yarn Story fills in as co-pilot to Allison on this episode.  We realised after we recorded the podcast that we didn't explain very well about being at H+H, the craft trade fair that happened this past March 28-30 in Cologne, Germany. Allison was there on the SweetGeorgia Yarns stand and Carmen was helping out as German translator and answering questions about having the yarns in her shop in the UK. Now that you have that as context, this episode includes chatter about things we saw at the show, along with our usual bits of news and events and what we're working on. News and Events April 23 - Spaces are still available for the upcoming coach trip to Wonderwool from London with the London Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. Click here for more details and to book your space if you'd like to join us. May 6th - Yarn Shop Day is back! This is great opportunity to show your love for your local yarn shop (LYS). It's also the three year anniversary for A Yarn Story and Wild & Woolly! June 10th - Join us at The Village Haberdashery for our World Wide Knit in Public Day event. We'll have more details for you soon! Make Happy - aka What We're Working On Carmen, who regularly wishes she was an octopus so that she could have more things on the needles is working on a second neckerchief to match the one she made for Allison for their matching dresses that they wore on the SweetGeorgia stand in Cologne. She's also been finding her fade this week and working on the hot shawl of the season. Carmen also has a few things needing sleeves before they can be completed. In addition to sewing a matching Moneta dress for Carmen, Allison has finally finished the sooper secret project and talks about the special Lucca lace pi shawl that she knit in honour of a friend's wedding. She also cast on a new project out of SweetGeorgia yarn so that she could knit on the stand at H+H and is knitting the Foolproof cowl out of deliciously yummy Cashluxe Spark. A Yarn Shop Buyer's Road Trip In this segment we get into a bit of a geeky craft business behind the scenes discussion about various ways that shop owners find yarns and other interesting bits for their shops, as well as some of the trends and things that we think are coming down the pipe for the later seasons this year. Wrap Up Many thanks again to Carmen for co-hosting this episode! Welcome to The Crochet Circle Podcast. Here are the Show Notes from Episode Five.   In this episode we continue with our crochet journeys, including helpful hints on how to get through the next stages of working on a garment; Yay Crochet or Nay Crochet; World Knit in Public Day; WIP Wall and FOs along with our usual Magazine round-up, our competition winners so far, our new regular feature called "Feeding the Rabbit" and we finish with What's Good.   This podcast is sponsored by my online crafting company, Provenance Craft Co. and Lynne Rowe Knitting and Crochet Thanks to everyone who tunes into the podcast whether it is through Stitcher, Podbean, Spotify, iTunes or the YouTube Channel. Your support and engagement are really appreciated and makes running a podcast very special and worthwhile.    If you would like to support the podcast, you can do that through Patreon:       1. Yay Crochet or Nay Crochet It's a Nay Crochet from Lynne this month, as she lost her favourite crochet hook: My favourite hook is an Addi Swing Crochet Hook, size 3.5mm which I use all the time – it’s an ergonomic hook so it's really comfortable and sits in your hand perfectly, so I was quite annoyed at myself for losing it. The question is – do I just buy another one as a replacement? Do I try a different make, do I buy just one or a set? They're quite expensive individually and even more expensive for a set so these would have to be a Birthday/Christmas gift. I can’t decide what to do, so I’m having a think and will have a mooch around Woolfest or go to Black Sheep Wools. If anyone uses any other good ergonomic hooks and has a favourite - do let me know – it might help me decide. I bought my lost hook from Laughing Hens: https://www.laughinghens.com/knitting-needles/addi-swing-crochet-hooks It's a big Yay Crochet from Fay on her Liala Top by Designer Marie Wallin: I love my top and the way that it looks. It is easy to wear as summer chic or dressed down with jeans or over a dress with tights for some winter colour. The yarn I used has unfortunately been discontinued (Jeanette Sloan 4 ply alpaca/silk) but it was lovely to work with and produced a very soft garment with clear stitch definition.      Link to Jeanette Sloan: http://www.jeanettesloandesign.com/ Link to Marie Wallin: http://www.mariewallin.com/   Fay also sneaked in a Knitting Nay for picot cast off: I've knitted a lovely shawl for a friend which involves a picot edge bind-off which is a new technique for me. It involves knitting lots of stitches before actually casting off, making it a long-winded process. I gave up after about an hour and a half and seemingly getting nowhere, so I will choose a different method to cast off with.      2. Magazine Round-up We've have added Pom Pom Quarterly into our list of magazines because they generally feature a couple of crochet patterns in each issue.  As the title would suggest, it comes out quarterly so you will hear about Pom Pom every third episode.   Inside Crochet – issue 79 - Seaside Theme Website Link: http://www.insidecrochet.co.uk/ Lynne's favourite: Greta Stole designed by Claire Montgomerie using Coopknits Socks Yeah – I really love the colour combination and you could use up your oddments of sock yarn to create your own colour combination (pg 54).   Fay's favourite: Friendship Quilt, designed by Mica York, using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran (pg 80).   There’s also a great interview with Betsan Corkhill, who is a Wellbeing Coach who focusses on the therapeutic benefits of knitting and how it can help improve your health and mindfulness. It’s not just about enjoying knitting and crochet, it links to meditation, to calmness, to stress relieving and to helping you improve your mood by working with calming colours – it’s fascinating and I'd recommend going along to one of Betsan’s workshops if there’s one near you.   Betsan's Website: http://www.stitchlinks.com/ Simply Crochet – issue 46 - Nautical theme Ravelry link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/simply-crochet-issue-46/patterns Website Link: http://www.simplycrochetmag.co.uk/2016/06/23/simply-crochet-issue-46/ Announces a Crochet-A-Long for subscribers, for a blanket using different crochet squares.   Lynne's favourite: I LOVE the cute little Beach Babe Piggy by designer Illaria Caliri – he/she’s so cute and even has a life ring, bucket, spade and beach towel, using DMC Natura Just Cotton (4-ply) (pg 42). Fay's favourite: Claude the Octopus by designer Kate E. Hancock (Fay is slowly being brought round to the fun side of crochet), using Drops Paris 100% cotton (pg 24).   Kat Goldin also talks about her local yarn shop and how it provides a sense of community and a place of creativity (pg 34). Fay's favourite: Feeling Tubby - crochet bowls (pg 56).   3. Our Crochet Journey - Next Steps and issues we've faced Lynne's progress with her Lisa Sweater: I had to rip back a couple of times due to losing stitches - in the end, I gave up ripping out and just added a couple of stitches along the row instead. Now that I'm in the flow of the pattern I've stopped dropping a stitch at the end. It isn't noticeable where I've added the extra stitches. I had to buy 4 extra balls of Rowan Purelife Revive which are a different dye lot than my original 5 balls. Luckily, the yarn is mottled so the slight difference in the shades is not noticeable. I will alternate the balls used but will do the same on each half of the jumper so that any difference will appear as if it's intentional as both halves will be identical. Fingers crossed they will blend nicely or look like gradient yarn.     For those new to crochet or knitting, on the ball band of every ball of yarn is essential information on the yarn itself – what it’s made from, what needle size to use, the tension and the weight. Also, you will find the shade number or reference and (like a tin of paint), the dye lot or dye batch that has been used. Like paint, a different dye lot will potentially produce a slightly different shade, so when buying yarn for a project, you need to make sure that all the ball bands have the same dye lot on them.   I found 2 balls of yellow Rico cotton in The Woolnest to show you how different the dye lots can be and therefore how important it is to use the same batch of yarn – you can see the difference below:     Fay's progress with her Liala Top: I had to rip back due to an error in the pattern, which I didn't realise until I'd ripped it back about 5 times. I also re-jigged the hook size and change the pattern a little to make it into a wearable top because of my body shape. I'm really happy with my crocheted top and will be making more. Full notes of my changes are on my Ravelry project page. Link to Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/MaDashper/liala It's fantastic to see the different garments that people are working on, over on our Ravelry forum.  Helen is motoring on with her Aberfoyle Cardigan and Jo is working on a wrap-around top from issue 41 of Simply Crochet which I love and I'm now making my own version using Rowan Finest.     After seeing Helen's Aberfoyle, Lynne has mooched in The Woolnest and found enough balls of Garthernor Organic 4-ply to make her own. Garthernor produces sustainable, organic yarn in and ecological way. They started out in the 1990s with their own sheep and now buy raw fleeces from other UK farmers, so all their wool is fully traceable and fully certified organic.  At Wonderwool this year Lynne had a lovely chat with the owner and they had some beautifully knitted samples on show and once washed, the yarn is really soft and much softer than it is on the ball.   Link to Aberfoyle Cardigan by Joanne Scrace: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aberfoyle-cardigan So our next patterns are Aberfoyle and Simple Wrapover.  We have been inspired by the folk in the Crochet Circle podcast to make the same items that they are making - so thank you. Feel free to join in with our Stylish Crochet CAL and don't forget to wear your garment at Yarndale.   Link to our Stylish Crochet Ravelry forum: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/the-crochet-circle-podcast/3438284/26-50#31     4. Woolfest We're off to Woolfest in the morning.  Whilst we are there, Tamara, one of the listeners to the podcast will be at a yarn festival in Houston, Texas.  Tamara lives over there now but we've noticed that lots of people seem to be travelling much further afield to go to yarn festivals.  At Edinburgh yarn festival, people had come from all over Europe. TNNA (The National Needle Arts Association) was on in America a couple of weeks ago and lots of folks were there from the UK.   So, given that Tamara is going to be at a yarn festival at the same time as we are we thought we would share notes.  We have the same set of questions to answer and photos will be taken from both sides of the pond and added to the Pinterest board for Episode 5.      5. World Knit in Public Day This was held on Saturday 18th June. Link: http://www.wwkipday.com/find-a-kip/kips-in-europe/  Fay experienced the East London Yarn Triangle, Hackney made up of 3 shops - Fabrications, Wild and Woolly and Knit With Attitude. They offered 10% off if you posted 3 photos with their hashtag on Instagram, and they also had refreshments. The yarn shops are within walking distance and maps were provided which highlighted the photo locations and I bought lots of wool and concluded that you can indeed crochet on a swing.   http://eastlondonyarntriangle.com/   6. Finished Objects Fay: Liala top by Marie Wallin, Cowl for The Crochet Circle book using Erika Knight British Blue and Shawl for the book using Whistlebare's Yeavering Bell (Mohair/Wensleydale blend). http://www.whistlebare.co.uk/ Fay also has an answer on whether a sock from an unfinished pair is an FO or a WIP.  It’s a HO (half object). Lynne's FO's are mainly secret commissions but she finished her Cowl for The Crochet Circle book, using Baa Baa Brighouse yarn called Baa Baa Brew. https://www.baabaabrighouse.co.uk/     7. WIP Wall Fay: I'm currently at 8 and many are the same as last time.  A new one on the list is the Wrapover Shawl from Simply Crochet issue 41, and I don’t have much to report yet other than I have done a yarn and hook substitute to change the finished fabric a little. Lynne: I’m at 11 – I frogged a pair of socks as the yarn wasn’t showing off the lace pattern properly, in fact it was barely visible. I finished the secret project for our book and I haven’t really started the Studio Linen Shawl so it doesn’t really count. With my Lisa Sweater I'm back up to 12 and my next book project will take me up to 13 WIPs.   8. Feeding the Rabbit (aka feeding the habit) Fay's purchases: I bought quite a lot of yarn during my visit to London on World Knit in Public Day, including: From Fabrications - Recycled Fibre (in lovely creams, whites and denim blue from UK); 100% Bluefaced Leicester Roving yarn (brown) and 100% Bluefaced Leicester Roving yarn (cream), both from West Yorkshire Spinners, suitable for hand-dying and felting. From Wild and Woolly - Rowan felted tweed and Erika Knight British Blue Wool from the Stash Depot (buying another person’s stash); Kalinka linen from Sweden in colour cyan  (Fibre: 100% linen Yardage: 320m per 100g skein Gauge: 28 stitches per 10 cm, recommended needle size: 3-4 mm needles) From Knit with Attitude - Hedgehog Fibres in colourway Dragonfly  (DK weight yarn, 100% merino wool, superwash. 115g/200m); Socks Yeah! – in colourway 110 Malachite -(75% superwash merino, 25% nylon, 50g/212m/231 yds). Mirasol – Kingfisher 14 (4-ply, 60% merino wool, 20% Alpaca, 20% Silk, 250m/274yds, 50g). http://www.wildandwoollyshop.co.uk/ http://www.fabrications1.co.uk/ http://knitwithattitude.com/shop/ I also sneaked a visit to Ewe and Ply in Shrewsbury - and still resisted the spinning wheel. Ewe and Ply have a great selection of British wools and is well worth a visit. I bought some Eden Cottage yarn, and one of the natural roving yarns from West Yorkshire Spinners. Link to Ewe and Ply, Shrewsbury: http://www.eweandply.co.uk/   Lynne's purchases: I bought a gorgeous skein of yarn from I Knit (London) – I had a spare few hours a couple of weeks ago when in London, so I jumped on the tube to Waterloo and found the shop quite easily. I’ve wanted the yarn ever since seeing it - mainly because it’s called Starman – one of my favourite songs by my favourite artist, David Bowie, so I just had to buy it. I’m going to try my crochet cowl from the book and see how it works with the hand-dyed yarn.     Link to I Knit London: http://iknit.org.uk/   9. What’s Good                For Lynne: About a year ago I was commissioned by Search Press to write a book for their "20 To Make" series. I had great fun designing the Mandalas for the book and have also designed a few more for commissions. I’m definitely hooked by Mandalas – they’re meditative and you can make them your own by using your favourite colours and favourite yarns. They’re useful for all sorts of things, like placemats, wall hangings and you can even sew them together to make a throw. The Search Press book is out in October and you can pre-order it on Amazon at the moment. It came out of the blue and it was because of Erika Knight and Emma Knitted!   Link to Stash Tags KNIT IT - HOOK IT - CRAFT IT: https://www.knitit-hookit-craftit.com/products/stash-tag Knitting magazine: https://www.thegmcgroup.com/pc/viewPrd.asp?idProduct=2327&idCategory=717 Erika Knight: http://www.erikaknight.co.uk/ Emma Knitted: http://www.emmaknitted.co.uk/         Secondly, we were sent Daughter of a Shepherd mini-skeins by Rachel Atkinson to test for crochet. We love how they smell and can't wait to try them out. Rachel is manufacturing Hebridean wool from sheep her father breeds in the UK. Link to Daughter of a Shepherd: https://daughterofashepherd.com/ As we both smelled the sheepiness of the yarn we realised that we were both sporting Hebridean moustaches. Other things we've mentioned: Winners Round-up - Who's won what so far: 200g DMC Natura Medium and DMC hook – Kerryd19 from Australia Arne & Carlos Sock yarn (with signed Stash Tag)  - Curlylou – UK Lynne Rowe's Once Upon a Time in Crochet (signed copy) - JojoTwinkletoes Erika Knight’s Simple Colour Knitting (signed copy) – DianeB 2 x 50g Erika Knight’s Studio Linen – Emma from Woolgathering Sandbach   Happy listening and crocheting.   Lynne and Fay x   Instagram: Crochet_Circle_Podcast  Instagram: provenance.craft.co   Instagram: FayDHDesigns YouTube: The Crochet Circle Podcast Crochet Clan on Mighty Network: Invite

This innovative tool was created by Claudia, a knitter, and her engineer husband, to protect delicate knitting needles from damage while on a project in your knitting bag. Claudia had broken several pair of 00 wooden sock needles by being jostled around in her knitting bag and was desperate to find a way to protect her delicate, and expensive circulars. That was the Needle Keeper's original intention, but...it has turned out the Needle Keeper is perfect for keeping your live stitches from falling off the needle, and for protecting the joints (the needle to cable area). Extremely lightweight, practically indestructible, you can shove everything in your knitting bag and never worry. They make reaching into your bag and grabbing your project worry free, no dropped stitches!     They come in 12 beautiful, bright colors, which makes them easy to see deep in your bag! Buy a different color for each project, contrasting against the current yarn color, or color-code for the type of project you're working on. Knitters LOVE them, read the nearly 1,000 5-star reviews on Etsy and pick up a few. The coupon deal for the PalKal 2016 is buy 4 and get one free from their Etsy shop, Fiber To Fabric Magic! Put 5 in your cart and one will ring up FREE. Claudia will be giving away 2 Needle Keepers to a lucky listener of this Podcast, and you get to choose which colors you'd like!     Knitting Talkback: Yarn (The Movie)  I was recently sent a screener copy of Yarn and I really enjoyed it. It was a different take on the fiber for me, but I found it really interesting and informative. Check out the website for more information about where you can see this film.    Non-Knitting Segments   One Pot Wonders One Pot Summer Vegetable Pasta One of the easiest recipes I've made.      Love it or Leave it This one is a combo! Check out this blog post at Kelbourne Woolens about garter tabs.   This got me to thinking: how have I gotten away this long without doing a garter tab? What is something in knitting that you can't believe you have never done before? Catching Up: (0:20) Jen has been working out to get into shape some more and she's enjoying it, but it's hard. She's been working on pattern writing. She's really loving the new season of Orphan Black. She and Ron have been working on the music. And she's enjoying Mad Men but is sad to see it go. Laura is normalizing to her new job. She got her new shipment from Annie Modesitt's yarn club and it's really, really pretty. It's inspired by a moth. And the extra is a matching bag from Namaste. She's working on the Sunnydale Yarn Club Patrol 4 Sign ups. We talk a little bit about Season 4 of Buffy. Even if you don't join to club, join the Dizzy Color Ravelry Group to talk about Buffy. She's also preparing for a trunk show at Ewe+You. She's also working on a new yarn club (Teaser!). In the Knitting Bag: (14:01) Jen has been working on the Ysolda Teague’s Wee Envelope out of Oink Pigments in purple. She's working on the Baby Yours Sweater by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee out of Cascade 220 SW Sport. She's regretting not getting the worsted for the blanket, because it's taking forever. She is working on Rainbow socks out of White Birch Fiber Arts self-striping sock yarn in Fade to Gray (rainbow and grey self-striping). She only works on one sock at a time. She worked on that up at a show at the Groundlings. She is working on her sample for Sunnydale so she can take pictures. Laura is working on a hat for Halos of Hope out of Knit Picks Brava. These seem to be her standard Disneyland knitting. She is also casting on the Carson Shawl by Romi Hill out of Forbidden Woolery Pride Fingering. This is her Knitalong (or Slackalong) with her friend. And she is almost done with Swirl Hat (Crochet) from Patons out of Knit Picks Gloss Fingering in black. Finished Objects: (24:03) Jen blocked her Baby Yours sweater and it's not seamed. She has a ton of partially finished stuff, but nothing finished. She is struggling with inspiration to knit. Laura had hoped to finish her Swirl Hat, but isn't done. But she will be done with it tomorrow. Jen is sad about her lack of finishing. We need a finishing bootcamp. We mention Stash Dash by the Knitgrillls and Miss Kalendar's Finishuary. Devil's Tower: (27:24) Jen's Devil's Tower is languishing. Laura pulled out Carson, even though she hadn't really started, but she had swatched so that's kind of started. Her Ink by Hanna Maciejewska is going to escape and get worked on at some point. Frog Pond: (28:52) Jen is not challenging herself as a knitter, so she has no Frog pond. Laura has been having some issues with her Swirl Hat because it's black yarn and crochet and she's not really used to it. We want to hear about your frog ponds in the episode thread! On Deck: (31:00) Jen doesn't feel like knitting and is so uninspired she's not queuing patterns. Laura used up all her On Decks forever in the last episode, with all of her Amy Herzog sweaters. She needs to make herself go kits, because all her yarn will be inaccessible for a while due to some home remodeling. She's overwhelmed by her list a bit, but we love all the designers. But as a bonus, Jen learned the difference between a bedroom and a bonus room! Knit Culture: (33:52) Jen has been feeling uninspired, so we talk about our knitting inspiration. Jen is inspired by her awesome friends who knit and crochet. For example, one of her friends has been posting her Sophie's Universe crochet projects. Her friend Melissa (who is well known to regular listeners) is an inspiration because of her color sense. Laura is inspired by her friend Dorothy, who is an amazing lace knitter. Jen and Laura's mutual friend Erica makes excellent sweaters and her finishing work is amazing. Laura gets hugely inspired by yarns: colors, groupings, etc. Jen used to have this inspiration but lately she hasn't been feeling it. While this keeps her from buying too much yarn, she wants it to be more of a struggle. Jen's friend Sarah is an amazing knitter, especially double knitting. Jen and Laura both find specific patterns pretty inspiring. We talk about how Kristin Omdahl has helped us reconsider crochet. Jen also talks about her friend Sandra who is an amazing fiber artist and does really cool yarn bombing projects and also other fiber art installations (including sweaters for fish). And of course Laura's first inspiration was her friend Jen (different Jen) who taught her how to knit initially. So who are your real life knitting inspirations? Geek Culture: (50:19) Agents of SHIELD has been awesome lately! And we are excited to see Age of Ultron. Jen wants to do a Marvel Cinematic Universe marathon. We also think Hot Topic Marvel Line. We're also a disappointed at the lack of Black Widow on Avengers merchandise. Upcoming Events: (54:48) Laura has a trunk show at Ewe and You on May 31st, for their first anniversary. We will be doing our own version of World Wide Knit in Public Day on June 20th from 2:30 to 5:30 at the Five O'Clock Winde Bar in Alamitos Bay Marina (right next to a yarn store). Camp CogKNITive is August 21-23, Camarillo, CA. It’s a great and relaxing weekend. Knit Dizzney will Sunday, September 13th, 2015. There will be T-shirts, project bags, and exclusive yarn available for pre-order. The meetup will be at 2pm at the Hearthstone Lounge in the Grand Californian. Yarnosphere is October 17-18 EXPO Art Center in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach. Laura is vending. Want Knotty Girls Swag? You can get some by donating! Click the donate button in the right sidebar! $10 gets you a set of stitch markers, $20 gets you a project bag, and $25 gets you both! Please include your name and mailing address when you donate and specify if you want crochet or knitting type stitch markers if applicable.

A somewhat meandering and caffeinated podcast for you this time around. What's going on: 13th June - the tenth anniversary of World Wide Knit in Public Day! Check their website for events near you. 20th June - Brighton Knit and Make Social! Tickets are still available, so come join us! 26-27th June - Woolfest, Cockermouth, Cumbria 1st July - Tickets go on sale for the 2015 Great London Yarn Crawl and the Pop Up Marketplace. 25-26th July - Fibre-East, Ampthill, Bedfordshire Marketplace.   What we're working on: Allison has finished her test knit of Rachel's new cowl in Kettle Yarn Co Islington DK (color: Parapadschada, otherwise known as eye-searingly bright pink). She found the project bag containing her long-lost Mind the Gap socks, for which she's using Kate Atherley's Classic Toe-up Pattern. She also has grand intentions of getting back to the Skulls sweater (otherwise known as Robin) by Lina Olofsson, and has baby sweaters in mind for casting on soon. She's also finished the singles of her Rocky Mountain Dyeworks fibre in True Turquoise. Rachel finished her handspun sweater that she was so frantic to finish last episode, and managed to get it blocked and photographed (by Allison) in time to submit to Knittyspin for the next issue. She's also pick up her Belted Herdwick Mittens (so named because they look a bit like Belted Galloways), which she cast on for the YITC Not-a-KAL KAL (which closed on Monday). So no prizes for here! She's also been working on spinning a wool/flax blend from Spunky Eclectic, and is really enjoying how different it is to spin from a straight wool fibre. Merrily we knitalong: We announce the winners of our Not-a-KAL KAL, and talk about why we like knitalongs. Congratulations to the winners! We also reveal our new KAL - the GLYC 2015 KAL - inspired by the concept of the Rhinebeck Sweater. For this KAL, we will be working on projects to wear and show off at the Great London Yarn Crawl/Pop-up Marketplace on 5th September. Here are the details: Cast on: Monday, 15th June Cast off: Tuesday, 1st September Restrictions: Your KAL projects have to be newly cast on - no WIPs please! You do not have to restrict yourselves to yarn acquired at previous editions of the GLYC. It should probably be something you'd like to wear on the day, but we make no predictions about what that might mean to y'all. There will be prizes (TBD) - 1 prize for an FO, and 1 prize for general participation in the KAL thread. And for those of you who are cold sheeping, and are working on a one in/one out type of framework, here's the complete Pop-up Marketplace Vendor list in case you need a bit of a carrot to get yourselves inspired. We also get pysched up (Ok, maybe that's just Rachel) for the start of Tour de Fleece. We encourage all you spinners out there listening and reading to sort through your stash, decide on some goals, and get those wheels and spindles ready! The peloton starts off on 4th July from Utrecht, and finished in Paris on 26th July. If you're looking for a team, please come join us on the Porpoise Fur team - everyone is welcome!  As always you can find us on Ravelry, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts and feedback with us, and please come say hi at any of the events we're attending if you get a chance! Everyone is welcome to come join our Wednesday night knit group from 7-9 pm (or longer) at The Goat on the Rise, Clapham SW11 1EQ. If you like knitting along with others you are sure to find something you'd like to participate in. Double, triple or quadruple dipping is encouraged by the Actually Knitting Podcast.    Stash Dash is a KAL sponsored by the Knit Girllls. Be sure to check them out for more information. I think I will enter the 5k option this year. I talk about my current wips and where I stand for yardage if I finish them all!   Around Your Neck is a KAL sponsored by Dianne of Suburban Stitcher. Her blog is linked above. Wips count!   Cardi, Tank or Tee is being sponsored by the 2 Knit Lit Chicks. I am working on my Astonish Top for this KAL.   The Great Outdoors KAL is sponsored by Emily of the Knitting Butterflies podcast. She wants you to be inspired to knit in or for the great outdoors this summer.   PALKAL 2015 PalKal is happening starting June 1st! I answer a few questions I've been asked on the boards, but feel free to ask anything that you think of. The most important update is that I've decided that you can use Wips for the PALKAL. Please use #palkal2015 on Instagram. I can't wait to see what you decide to do!   This is the biggest KAL of the year for Actually Knitting!  The Podcast Along Knit Along will start officially on June 1st, but let’s start our plotting and planning now! Here are the rules: Cast on: June 1 Bind off: September 1 The basic idea is to support a podcaster you listen to or watch by knitting one of their patterns and/or using their yarns for your project. You can also use a project bag by a podcaster! The design, yarn/fiber and/or project bag must be from a knitting/crochet/fiber podcaster. (Not all 3, just one of those to qualify) Use the chatter thread for discussion. Make suggestions. There are TONS of podcasts out there and almost no one knows about all of them, so if you know of a podcaster designer/yarnie/bag maker, feel free to share with us! You are encouraged to take advantage of the coupon codes offered by our sponsors, but you are not limited to those podcasters for the KAL. Sponsors and coupon codes will be announced in an upcoming episode. Please post finished objects in the non-chatter thread and include a link to the podcaster you are supporting. Enter as many projects as you like. Each project gets a separate post in the non-chatter thread. A note about project bags: a project bag may only be entered into the contest one time for an entry. (You can’t just keep using a podcaster project bag over and over and entering the contest that way). You must be a member of the Actually Knitting Podcast Group to win. Have fun supporting a podcaster designer or yarnie! Please do not chatter in the non-chatter thread. It makes it more difficult to draw a winner! Use the tag PALKAL2015 on Ravelry and #palkal2015 on Instagram In addition, I've decided that you can use WIPS for this KAL. I also mentioned making Los Monos Locos by Jennifer O'Sullivan.    Other Events: World Wide Knit in Public Day is June 13, 2015. This week's episode has been sponsored by: This week: Abstract FiberFact #2: Abstract Fiber yarns are dyed to minimize pooling and striping. While it’s impossible to prevent these effects entirely, we make every effort to create an overall textured effect and avoid pooling. This means Abstract Fiber yarns are suitable for showing off complicated patterns, like textures, lace, cables. The colors in the yarns are also perfect for colorwork using a more solid background color and just one of our handpainted colors to create a very dramatic design. Join our group on Ravelry, Aaabsolutely Abstract, for a list of shops who carry our yarns. Orders over $100 from our website ship for free in the US and Canada. This week: At Purlescence Yarns we are diehard cross-crafters. When we're not knitting, we're spinning, quilting, stitching, or weaving. We have been very pleased to include looms and weaving supplies amongst our offerings at the shop. This week we warped up our Schacht Wolf Pup 4 harness floor loom. It's a beauty! It's easy to operate and folds up for portability. It's all function in beautiful form. We're taking orders for the holidays now! On the Needles: (00:30) Gigi has finished her black Regia Saturn socks, and the crocheted edging. Jasmin has found better buttons for her Tangled Yoke Cardigan. Gigi has finished the front of her Origami Wrap Pullover. Jasmin talks about unearthing a 10-year-old UFO that has one seam left to do. Gigi unearthed another marinating UFO, the Par Five socks (in Franklin's Panopticon). Jasmin is working on her Ariann, knit out of Dream in Color Classy (color: Butter Peeps). She is also finishing up her Tempting II, knit out of Tess Yarns Microfiber ribbon (bright orange). Jasmin shares her "button sweater" story. (The sweater was the Baby Albert, by Sally Melville.) Jasmin is thinking about knitting "Boo" the Tweedy Pie Jacket (from Monkeysuits). Events: (21:59) 9/19, 11 am - 3 pm: Spin in Public Day at Courthouse Square on Broadway in downtown Redwood City. 9/27, 11 AM: Shuttles, Spindles, and Flyers guild sale. 10/17-18: New York Sheep & Wool Festival (Rhinebeck). Meet'n'greet TBD. Mother Knows Best: (24:11) Gigi discusses buttonbands! Jasmin mentions the pink Pep sweater. Contest: (30:10) We're having a contest for contest ideas! Contest will be closed 9/30. (Also, if you haven't already, put yourself on our listener map!) When Knitting Attacks: (32:29) Jasmin's Ariann, when she pulled it out of storage, was knit the wrong size. Gigi's Swallowtail Shawl (errata here) was ripped and re-knit. Gigi doesn't recommend using quilting thread for lifelines, and finds the math for the shawl vexing. Jasmin's Drops Yoke Cardigan turns out wrong. Jasmin might run out of yarn for her Tempting II. Straw into Gold: (42:07) Jasmin finished spinning the "Hey Jude" from Crown Mountain Farms. (Jasmin recommends listening to this episode of "Stitch it!" to hear about worsted vs woolen plying.) Jasmin talks about a more holistic approach to spinning for projects. We found a more commercially available 45 degree angle kate, by Louet. Jasmin learns, the hard way, that recon work for holiday gifts is a challenge with Gigi. (We're both going to knit the Sunrise Circle Jacket out of handspun.)

On the Needles: (02:06) Gigi and Jasmin had a GREAT time at the Retzlaff Winery spinning event! (Jasmin talks about the Pygora/Wool lace yarn from Hollyhock Hollow farm.) Jasmin has been on a finishing kick! She has finished her Houdini Socks. (You can find the cutting tutorial here.) Gigi has finished her first sock out of the Abstract Fiber Supersock in Lady Macbeth. Gigi talks about a Lucy Neatby bind-off technique. Jasmin has picked up her Mesmer socks again (you can find the Mesmer pattern here), and is in LOVE! She's knitting it in a burnt orange colorway of the Colinette Jitterbug. Gigi finished her first Coriolis sock in a new pair. She has found herself immersed in using Cat Bordhi and Lucy Neatby techniques! Jasmin is returning to her Monkey socks. Gigi and Jasmin discuss the 52 pair plunge. Jasmin recommends modifying these types of KALs with more reasonable expectations. Jasmin tells a stash enhancement story, where she wheels and deals for some hot pink Koigu. She's looking for sweater suggestions for it. Mother Knows Best: (21:25) We discuss Netiquette and Ravelry. When Knitting Attacks: (25:32) Gigi is on her third try on her Coriolis. Jasmin has been Mesmerized, and has been having issues reading directions. Gigi's Upstream socks are having issues, and she desperately needs a bout of startitis. Jasmin talks about picking up a fleece for Meghan (from Stitch-it!), and misreading her text. Straw into Gold: (33:26) Jasmin bought a little Pygora (from Hollyhock Hollow Farms), and will talk about spinning it in a future podcast. Jasmin talks about overdyeing naturally colored fiber. Jasmin talks about getting outstanding customer service from Schacht, and the "silencing a noisy bobbin" trick with White Lithium Grease. Meghan, Erin, and Jasmin split two fleeces from Janet Heppler. Frank was a dark, 10 1/2 lb merino/corriedale mix. Luther is a white, 12 lb merino corriedale blend with super long staple length. Meghan's grey cormo fleece came from Sue Reuser, as did a white cormo fleece that Erin and Jasmin are splitting. Meghan has thrown down the gauntlet- if Jasmin hand-processes 4 lbs of fleece, Meghan will knit a lace shawl on smallish needles (US 5-6). Jasmin mentions Aija's tutorials on processing fleeces in locks.

Wash it. 3- Don't rip prematurely. - When knitting lace, use lifelines.- Make a photocopy of your pattern (for your personal use). Make notes in the margin. Keep it with your project. - Keep all of the yarn for your project together.- Jasmin mounts her charts on cardstock (Pound o' Paper)

On the needles: Gigi- checkerboard socks out of Casbah in Monarch Jasmin- still working on the Blackberry Swirl socks, and has cast on the Adamas shawl out of Colrain Lace in Grape Jelly on size 4 needles. Gigi is going to cast on her Somoko yarn. Pattern will be the Curved Lace shawl from Victorian Lace Today. When Knitting Attacks: Gigi needs a bout of startitis. She's out of interesting UFOs. Jasmin needs to finish an 8 year old UFO. Mother Knows Best: Spit splicing. A good idea, but spit is icky, and so is chewing on yarn. Use a shotglass, dip your joined section, and rub between your hands. This way, your garment stays spit-free! Announcement! WorldWide Knit in Public Day! Saturday, June 14th. We'll be at Santana Row from 1PM- 4PM. Be there! Seasonal Knitting: What do you knit in the summertime? We knit socks, lace, and microfiber ribbon shells. Jasmin needs to finish her Tempting shell.

On the Needles: Gigi is knitting the Icarus Shawl (by Miriam Felton). Miriam also designed Juno Regina and the Persephone Scarf that Jasmin is still working on. Gigi is working on a cabled sock made out of Lisa Souza's "Miss Violet's Pink Ribbon".Jasmin is knitting socks out of her handspun Fiber Fiend "Blackberry Swirl".Gigi negotiates trading quilting for some handspun yarn.Gigi talks about tripunto quilting. Woo! Review: Heritage Sock Yarn by Cascade Yarns (courtesy of Purlescence Yarns) Jasmin is getting roughly 8 sts/in on US 1 1/2 Hiya Hiya needles. (Buy them at your LYS!) The yarn has fabulous stitch definition and a terrific hand. It also has a decent price point for a handpainted sock yarn. ($17-$18/ 100g) Mother Knows Best: Try new things! You don't have to stick with a hobby if you don't love it anymore. You also don't have to do 100% of everything for your interest. If you buy a fleece, you don't have to process it yourself. Send it to Shari at Morro Fleece Works! (She's fabulous.) If you're not sure, process a handful of the fleece yourself. That's a decent representative sample of the whole process. Out and About: Spinning at the Retzlaff winery. Lots of people, more vendors, and TWO chickens! Good wine, good company, good wool. Good times. Join us for Worldwide Knit in Public Day! We'll be at Santana Row. When Knitting Attacks! Busy and dark yarns don't suit heavily textured patterns. When knitting slip-stitch patterns, add a little ease for those slipped stitches.Jasmin attends Man of La Mancha with Nathania, Sandi, and Kathy in San Jose, and drops her tape measure LOUDLY at Man of La Mancha, and everyone drops stitches. That's how good it was.
