With 50 million monthly visitors, every event you create is a searchable page that links back to your business.Your event title becomes your URL. Put the event type (workshop, bootcamp, conference) and keywords in the title so people searching Eventbrite can actually find you.Three measures of a successful event. The number of people, the quality of people, and what happens after they leave.Collect more than just emails. Change the default Eventbrite settings to require phone numbers. Export the CSV and load it into your CRM. Share the data with sponsors.Optimize free tools before spending money. If your website is not built, do not run ads. Eventbrite generates 3.99M organic visits versus only 101K from paid search.Attention is a new currency, retention is a new balance. It is not what you spend, it is what you keep. Build systems that retain, not just attract.Memorable Quotes"Attention is a new currency, retention is a new balance. It's not what you spend, it's what you keep." — Favour [94:38]"Short code, long money. All the millionaires and billionaires got a short code." — Marcus [83:52]"Strangers can accidentally see your event on Eventbrite because they're searching for it in the surrounding areas." — Marcus [36:46]"If you haven't spent time on your website, don't spend money on ads. It sounds brutal, but I'm saving you from stress." — Favour [88:27]"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." — Favour [80:05]FAQsQ: Is Eventbrite only for paid ticketed events?A: No. Free events on Eventbrite give you the same SEO benefits, data collection, and discoverability. Churches, nonprofits, and retail stores should all use it for givebacks, sales, and community events.Q: How do I know when to schedule my event?A: Poll your audience with two questions: weekdays or weekends, and weekdays or weeknights. Add a bonus question about lead time (1-3, 4-6, or 7-9 weeks). Start with whatever feedback you receive.Q: Should I spend $1,000 on event ads?A: Not before your website is ready. Run a $10/day A/B test for 10 days first. Then decide how to invest the remaining $900 based on data, not guesswork.Q: What tools were recommended?A: Eventbrite, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Pinterest Trends, Glimpse, GoHighLevel, Flodesk, SimilarWeb, and G2 for software reviews.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

I'm joined by powerhouse entrepreneur Stephanie Ross, CEO of Small Business Sister Circle, author, podcast host, realtor, and mom, to unpack her bold podcast rebrand and relaunch. Stephanie shares what led her to step away, why now was the right time to return, and how she approached this new season differently by recording the audio version of her book through her show, leaning into more solo episodes, implementing affiliate ad partnerships, and hiring support. Our conversation expands into the realities of motherhood and entrepreneurship, how becoming a mom reshapes your capacity and definition of success, and why protecting your energy as a leader matters more than ever.Key Topics Covered:The mindset behind choosing a strategic pause instead of pushing through burnout.Lessons learned from hosting a multi-day summit in a small-town market. Why delegation becomes non-negotiable as your event and business grow. The internal pressure that increases with longevity and reputation. How to intentionally prepare before attending a live event to maximize ROI.A practical strategy for introverts to confidently enter high-energy networking spaces.Balancing visibility with privacy as the face of a community.Navigating evolving ambition alongside changing seasons of life.Links & Resources:Riverside Referral Code: https://riverside.sjv.io/WOXq0PGet your copy of the Pivot Ball Change Editing Guide: https://www.pivotballchange.com/howtoeditpodcasts/p/how-to-edit-podcasts-with-pivot-ball-changeUse code KRYSTLE to get $50 off your Sister Circle Summit Ticket: https://sistercircle.co/home/?page_id=2317Follow Stephanie on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stephanieleaross/Visit Stephanie's Website: https://www.stephanieleaross.com/Follow Small Business Sister Circle on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/smallbusiness.sistercircle/Get Your Copy of Stephanie's Book, Seasons of a Soul-preneur, Here: https://amzn.to/4shWnWGLet's Connect! Tickets zum Founder Summit 2026:
Have you ever bought a ticket to a show and wondered why the experience still feels strangely disconnected, with one app for ticketing, another for marketing, another for refunds, and a dozen spreadsheets held together by late nights and good intentions? In this episode of Tech Talks Daily, I'm joined by Ritesh Patel, co-founder of Ticket Fairy, to talk about the technology behind live events and why it has lagged behind other industries in some surprisingly familiar ways. Ritesh makes the case that most organizers are operating more like creative founders than corporate operators, building "mini cities" for a weekend with tiny teams, tight budgets, and very little margin for error. That reality shapes every technology decision, and it explains why fragmented tools and siloed data can become a hidden tax on the business. Ritesh walks me through Ticket Fairy's full stack approach, bringing ticketing, marketing, CRM, logistics, and payments into a single system, and why unifying data changes the economics of running an event. We dig into practical examples that go beyond vague AI talk, including how small workflow fixes can speed up entry, improve the on-site experience, and even translate into real revenue uplift once you multiply time savings across thousands of attendees. We also get into where AI agents and large language models are already finding a foothold in events, particularly around unstructured documents like artist specs, supplier agreements, and operational paperwork that can swallow hundreds of hours. Ritesh shares why "AI-native" should mean more than a writing assistant in a text box, and what it looks like when AI becomes an extension of a lean events team, including a prototype voice agent designed to handle common ticket-holder questions without creating new support bottlenecks. If you're interested in the real business mechanics of events, and how SaaS, payments, data, and AI can quietly shape everything from entry lines to repeat attendance, this conversation offers a fresh way to think about an industry that touches all of us, even when we don't think of it as a tech story. And as a bonus, Ritesh leaves a music recommendation that sent me back to an album I had not played in years, Burial's Untrue, with "Archangel" as the track to start with. After listening, tell me this, where do you think unified data and practical AI will make the biggest difference in live experiences over the next couple of years, on the promoter side or the fan side, and why?

Most cultural institutions know games matter. Very few know what to do about it. Kristian Volsing is one of the people who figured it out — and built the path in real time.As part of the V&A's contemporary design team, Kristian co-curated Design/Play/Disrupt, one of the most significant museum exhibitions ever dedicated to game design. He navigated studio NDAs, convinced the National Gallery of Art to lend a Magritte for a game show, and flew a colleague to Kyoto — where Nintendo showed her exactly one meeting room.In this conversation, we go deep on what it actually takes to build a sustainable games program inside a cultural institution: why live events beat collection-building as a starting point, how to work with an industry that guards its IP fiercely, and what experimental game designers actually need from institutions like yours. We're headed to one of the most legendary small rooms in the country to chat with this episode's guest, Megan Loveless, Talent Buyer for The Blue Room at Third Man Records – the independent record label in Nashville run by Jack White. Megan tells us all about the venue, which previously had been used for underplays, photoshoots, and special experiences, but in 2021 was rebranded as a full venue to host a wide range of events weekly. From its literal blue walls that give it its name to the lathe room that houses a 1955 Scully lathe which allows them to record select shows direct to acetate – The Blue Room is a truly unique venue. Hear what goes into curating their calendar and how Megan balances booking touring and local acts along with other types of community events. We learn about her history growing up in a small town with a love for Nirvana and Sub Pop Records which led to her attending MTSU for Music Business and internships at a small label and Third Man Records. Enjoy this fun episode filled with interesting information and career advice, discussions about live music building community, and even some band recommendations to check out. We explore how busyness can be a trap, why traditional friendship dynamics may need to evolve, and how worshipping stability and survival can quietly block adventure and expansion. We'll be back on March 15 with an all-new season of How God Works! In the meantime, we're excited to share one of our favorite episodes — our very first live event. If you ask people what they think about religion, you often get one of two answers: Religion is the source of war, violence, abuse, and hypocrisy OR a route to love, kindness, tolerance, and mercy.Put another way, it's either what divides us or it's the thing that can actually bring us together. In a country deeply divided over social, political, and moral issues that seems to be moving further apart by the day, the answer's not likely to be a simple one. How God Works held its first live event in December to explore just that. Why does something that has the potential to connect us so deeply also have the ability to divide us so profoundly? And, regardless of what we believe, is there something we can learn from what religion gets right to find a way to come together? In a wide-ranging and often moving discussion, Dave spoke to a panel of leading spiritual thinkers and social scientists who have experienced both sides of the issue, including Central Synagogue Rabbi Angela Buchdahl, award-winning author and Christian Historian Diana Butler Bass, The University of North Carolina's Deepest Beliefs Lab director Kurt Gray, and The Aspen Institute's Religion and Society Program's executive director Simran Jeet Singh.

Ben Ikwuagwu is a vocalist, performer, and entrepreneur who has spent over 15 years navigating the live events world. That firsthand experience, combined with a degree in operations and years working in corporate America, gives him a unique vantage point on what makes the industry run and where it breaks down. Now, as CEO & Co-Founder of Soundcheck Live, he is channeling both worlds into a single platform designed to simplify how live event professionals manage their work. What does an all-in-one operations platform for live events actually do? Soundcheck Live focuses on four core pillars: booking, scheduling, payments, and coordination. Ikwuagwu explains that every event, regardless of size, comes down to these four elements. The platform provides a centralized dashboard where teams can manage gig details, client communication, and payment information without juggling spreadsheets, text threads, and scattered documents. How is Soundcheck Live building differently? From day one, the team has built the product around its users. Pilots with bands, production companies, and venues shaped the tool from the ground up. With advances in AI, the feedback loop has accelerated dramatically. Focus group insights that once took weeks to implement now translate into working features in hours, giving users the feeling that the platform is being custom-built for their specific workflows. This is a Brand Highlight.
