“You will see LCC fleet sizes increasing, and you'll see them operating longer routes into East Asia, Central Asia and even into Eastern and Western Europe." More than 50% of available flight seats on any given day in South East Asia are provided by low-cost carriers (LCCs). Budget airlines have played a vital role in rebuilding regional air travel and tourism in ASEAN and Asia Pacific since the prolonged Covid border closures. Now, with ASEAN into its fourth year since reopening, LCCs are being emboldened to expand their route networks and stretch the geographic reach for passengers - with the help of advancements in aircraft technology and AI tools to improve operational efficiencies. This week, Gary is joined by Kuala Lumpur-based Shantanu Gangakedkhar, Senior Consultant, Aerospace & Defense, at Frost & Sullivan, to assess the outlook for low-cost air travel in South East Asia, North East Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and beyond. En route, we discuss a range of pertinent issues from pricing and fierce market competition to air traffic management and the LCC market potential of South East Asia's tier-2 and tier 3 cities. Plus, we address the exit of Jetstar Asia from Singapore, ongoing aircraft supply chain challenges, and the current and potential impacts for the airline industry of US tariffs.

Is Epstein still alive? (probably)... Is he a Mossad spy? (possibly)... and, how much does it really cost to get into reloading your own ammo? (perhaps less than you think)... We also discuss the new bullet from Hornady, the .243 "ELD-VT" with a weight of 80 grains and a BC of .410--it's got a lot of long range promise, and coyote killing potential as well. We talk about these and other things on tonight's show. We hope you'll tune in! :)

It's a problem with any bureaucracy, anywhere in the world – and it's also the reason strong figures in politics prevail – doing the right thing the “right way” takes a lot longer than just getting stuff done when it's most needed. The principle of “it's easier to apologise than it is to get permission” gets things moving but it also leaves the door wide open for knee-jerk, half-baked solutions.Somewhere in the middle are logical, sensible decisions that can be made quickly and seen through efficiently. One project that slipped through that net was the plan to turn a former Wesley Mission hostel for the indigent elderly into affordable homes for essential workers. How that all fell apart, despite a $3m city grant, and why it's now being sold for commercial development, is our main topic in this week's podcast.Meanwhile we leave Poland with fond memories of some fantastic buildings and arrive in Prague disappointed that the only freely accessible paternoster elevator left in the city (the one shown in this video) is out of action for repairs. And finally, Jimmy has a brilliant plan to solve special levy stress. PPH is terrible. PPH must be assessed quickly via the “4Ts” and acted upon in a timely manner. And listen to this: new data from the Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine (June 24, 2025 ahead of print) finds an association with PPH and adverse outcomes years later: the odds of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and thromboembolism disease are increased in patients with postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), to a magnitude of 1.76 fold. That's why these authors recommended "proactive postpartum care". That's what we're gonna talk about in this episode. Control of PPH includes bladder drainage, uterine massage, medications as appropriate, and mechanical methods of bleeding control. So… Vacuum uterine contraction works, and a balloon works. Even a simply 24 Fr foley has efficacy data in this setting as a uterine tamponade tool. But, in an attempt to have a LOW-COST, HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, and easy to use alternative to the Jada and Bakri- could we just use an intrauterine foley catheter and connect that to vacuum suction? JADA is effective but it limited based on uterine (EGA) size, or in cases of uterine anomaly. But most importantly…JADA and Bakri are expensive! Well, we now have data that this approach, using a low-cost, easy to use alternative, may be a consideration. It is FOCUS. This idea comes from one of our podcast family members, Dr. Frank Jackson- an MFM fellow- who has published his experience with this and already has a new publication on this technique (FOCUS), which was released as we were recording this very episode! Listen in for details.

In this episode, I'm sharing the best tips for maximizing your budget when it comes to party planning - especially kids parties. I have this way of doing it that's efficient and organized and easy to decide what's worth paying for and what's better to do yourself. I'm sharing specific examples from the Party I just threw for Parker because I think it will give you lots and lots of ideas for the parties you plan in the future. This one was a baseball and ice cream theme so I definitely needed ice cream cones. I got two quotes for companies to scoop fresh ice cream and make ice cream sandwiches and both came in around $850. Instead, I bought the mini ice cream cones from Trader Joe's for $.46 each - brushed them with a little water and dip them in sprinkles and the kids were so happy. I took what would have been something like $12 per kid and made it $.46 and if they had two cones, I made it one dollar. And it had the same feeling as doing the expensive vendor, and nobody knew the difference! There are so many ways to plan your parties so you spend the money in the most strategic ways and and figure out ways to keep things low in cost, but have a big impact. Tips! -spread out your spend -get multiple quotes -start early if you can -set max budgets for some of the creative people -do half vendor, half yourself (balloons and treats) -hat vendor - $450 - DIY would have been similar plus helper time to do it -caricature - $300 for 3 hours - best deal in town -pizzas & taco guy- sometimes make it pretty and sometimes just to feed people -snack table is so easy and so useful and ads to decor -print signs at a store like FEDEX - then I had my sign girl just do 2 main signs -print tags, papers and “stickers” yourself -pizza boxes had our logo on it - just paper cut and taped -Etsy has great resources -before you rent - see what you would spend buying and do you have a place to store? This time I spent too much on a wood wall - but I decided I needed it too late -you either have to spend lots of time or lots of money! But you dont have to do both -use the school of YouTube ***Here's the link to my new party book!!*** https://howtobeawesomeateverything.com/pages/the-ultimate-kids-party-planning-guidebook CHEERS to your next awesome party!!

With emissions hitting record highs, carbon dioxide removal is shifting from theoretical climate solution to commercial necessity. In this episode of ESG Currents, Bloomberg Intelligence Director of ESG Research Eric Kane speaks with AirMyne’s co-founder and COO, Mark Cyffka, and its CCO, Jan Huckfeldt, about the startup’s low-cost, scalable approach to direct air capture (DAC). They discuss why simplicity and heat efficiency are critical to scaling DAC, how waste heat from data centers can fuel removals and what sets the company’s liquid-based system apart from legacy approaches. Think a family vacation with airfare is totally out of reach? Like, “LOL, we can't even afford the snacks at the airport” out of reach? You're not alone. For many moms, the idea of flying the whole crew anywhere beyond Grandma's house feels like a luxury reserved for lottery winners or influencers with suspiciously perfect luggage. But what if you could take those same daily expenses (yes, even soccer fees and Target runs) and turn them into flights, hotel stays, and even international adventures? Meet Amber Paul—a former assistant principal and full-time mom who's been nailing family travel using credit card points for over 11 years. She breaks down how to strategically open credit cards, rack up points without wrecking your credit, and use those points to travel in style (or just get the kids to Legoland without needing a second mortgage). If you've ever dreamed of free flights, hotel upgrades, or simply making travel actually happen on a tight budget, this is the episode for you.
