Everyone knows the nickel price is down, but Centaurus Metals (ASX: CTM) MD Darren Gordon says that's why there's a great investment opportunity. The company is in talks with potential partners regarding its Jaguar Nickel Project in Brazil, it also has active copper and gold exploration activity in the country. Mr Gordon is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years' experience in the mining industry as a senior finance and resources executive. Mr Gordon has had extensive involvement in financing resource projects from both a debt and equity perspective and is a non-executive Director at Ordell Mineral Limited. Mr Gordon has over 15 years' experience operating in Brazil and as a result has a deep understanding of the regulatory framework and general operating environment required to develop a mining project in country. Counter-cyclical Opportunity in Nickel Centaurus Metals is positioning its Jaguar Nickel Project in Brazil as a classic counter-cyclical investment, taking advantage of the current downturn in nickel prices (around US$15,000/t) to prepare for the next upswing. Gordon believes the market has hit its floor and that investors entering now could see significant upside as prices recover 2. Strategic Partnering to Unlock Value Centaurus is advancing strategic partnering talks with downstream players seeking sustainable nickel supply for the EV battery sector. The goal is to secure a minority partner with offtake and equity funding, enabling development of the US$400 million Jaguar Project while maintaining operational control. A partnership announcement could trigger a major share price re-rating within the next few months 3. Low-Cost, Sustainable Nickel Sulphide Production Jaguar's economics remain robust even at current prices, with all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of ~US$4.40/lb, placing it in the lowest cost quartile globally. The project's low-carbon footprint and nickel sulphide resource differentiate it from Indonesia's environmentally damaging laterite operations, making it highly attractive to Western EV supply chains 4. Copper-Gold Growth Pipeline in the Carajás Alongside Jaguar, Centaurus is expanding into copper-gold exploration in Brazil's Carajás region, including the Boi Novo and Rio Novo projects. These assets offer exposure to high-grade copper intersections (up to 35 m @ ~1.8% Cu)and the potential for short-term share price catalysts through upcoming drilling results 5. Funded for Dual Momentum After a successful capital raise in August, Centaurus plans to deploy funds for both Jaguar's development and new drilling programs at Boi Novo. With near-term exploration newsflow and an imminent funding deal, the company is offering investors two growth pathways—nickel development and copper-gold discovery—positioning it strongly for a 2026 value uplift.
In this episode we talk with Michelle of @OhthePlacesYoullGoTravels about the Denmark and Sweden part of their 10-day family trip to European, which proves that travel with kids can be affordable, flexible, and genuinely kid-friendly when you use points, stopovers, and creative lodging. Michelle walks us through the itinerary that started with a Flying Blue stopover in Amsterdam, an unforgettable day at LEGO House in Billund, and then a multi-night stay split between Copenhagen and Malmo, Sweden. She explains how she stitched the trip together using points for flights, a Mr & Mrs Smith penthouse booked on Hyatt points, a budget Kindred home-exchange apartment in Malmo, and an unexpected bargain Story Hotel stay by Hyatt — and how those choices kept the trip family-friendly and economical. We share concrete how-to tips you can use: how to book Flying Blue stopovers, when staying overnight in Billund (or renting a car) makes sense, where to store luggage and how LEGO House's zones keep kids entertained for hours, and why Malmo can be a smart, lower-cost base with a 30-minute train into Copenhagen. Michelle also breaks down the numbers and how with points they spent LESS out of pocket for flights, hotels, food and excursions for a family of 4 over 10 days and across many countries — a life-changing contrast to her family's earlier Florida road trip that was astronomically more! She asked me about my glasses. They're heavily tinted reading glasses that block out blue light. They're not cheapy throw-aways, but they're not expensive either. It sparked a conversation about the everyday things we enjoy - things that make a positive difference in our lives. I started rattling off a few things - mostly things I saw within a 6-foot circumference of my studio space. By the time I got to number 22, I stopped and made this confession, "I know I could come up with twenty-two more if we kept talking about this." It's about stuff, our stuff. But it's about much more. It's about our expectations, happiness, and contentment. Mostly, it's about gratitude, being thankful for all the little, inexpensive things that improve our quality of life. • Join Our Free Email Newsletter • Subscribe to Our YouTube Channel (click that bell icon, too) • Join Our Facebook Group • Support Our Sponsors (Click on the images below to visit their websites.) __________________________________________ __________________________________________ __________________________________________

Interview with Blake Hylands, CEO of Lithium Ionic Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/opportunity-in-volatility-lithium-projects-poised-for-rebound-5610Recording date: 15th October 2025Lithium Ionic has significantly strengthened the economics of its Bandeira lithium project in Brazil, delivering a rare improvement in feasibility study updates. The company's latest Definitive Feasibility Study reveals exceptional metrics: a post-tax internal rate of return exceeding 60%, net present value of $1.5 billion, and a two-year payback period over a 19-year mine life. Most notably, capital costs decreased by $70 million to $190 million, positioning Bandeira among the lowest-cost lithium developments globally. The capital reduction resulted from strategic partnerships and engineering optimization rather than project compromise. Lithium Ionic partnered with R-TEK Resources, the engineering team that successfully constructed the adjacent Sigma Lithium operation, bringing proven DMS plant design expertise. This collaboration enabled equipment standardization, simplified mine sequencing, and refined facility design while maintaining project robustness.Located in Minas Gerais' Araçuaí pegmatite belt, the Bandeira project benefits from exceptional geological validation. The deposit sits just 500 meters from the CBL operation, which has produced lithium for 30 years, with near-identical structural and geochemical characteristics. Through targeted drilling completed in late 2024, Lithium Ionic expanded measured and indicated resources from 21 million to 27.5 million tons, converting 21 million tons to proven and probable reserves at a 77% rate. The project's lowest-quartile cost profile provides resilience against lithium's recent price volatility, which has seen spodumene swing from $8,000 to $650 per ton. Management targets early 2026 for permit approval and end-of-2027 production, timing that could coincide with tightening supply-demand dynamics as sustained low prices curtail new supply development. With sub-$200 million capital requirements generating $1.5 billion in value, conservative operating assumptions, and a proven development team, Lithium Ionic presents a compelling proposition for project financing as battery demand continues expanding across electric vehicles, grid storage, and AI infrastructure applications.Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/lithium-ionic-corpSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

In the last few years new car prices have scaled upwards perhaps most noticeable at the lower end of the market – if we go back to 2019 before the pandemic there were 52 model variants under the $20,000 barrier – today there is just one – the Kia Picanto hatch sport manual at $18,690. Manufacturers facing stringent new emission and safety regulations, higher costs and shifting exchange rates have not been able to maintain prices at the budget end of the new car market. Take Toyota for example – in 2019 its small Yaris hatchback retailed between $15,390 and $22,690 - today, it spans from $28,990 to $34,590. To counter its small car price rises Toyota is now concentrating on its Toyota Certified Pre-owned strategy, placing emphasis on certain warranties and certain conditions of quality with its dealers.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us a textWant a business that doesn't just pay you—but can be sold for a multiple? We dive with Thomas Scott into the playbook behind low-investment, high-potential franchises and why home services are the quiet engine of real, sellable equity. From custom closets to dryer vents, Thomas breaks down how to “build the box”: modern marketing, a tight CRM stack, accessible SBA financing, and a category with durable demand. We talk strategy, not hype—how to win in crowded markets by studying the customer journey, undercutting legacy pricing, and delivering faster, cleaner experiences that today's buyers expect. We explore why closets deliver some of the highest ROI in home improvement, how Millennials and Gen Z are driving 24% industry growth, and what makes the business model so satisfying: one-hour design consults, clear proposals, and single-day installs that compound into referrals. Thomas opens the hood on support that actually moves the needle—intense onboarding, weekly group coaching, and specialist access with staff-to-owner ratios around 1:5 to 1:8. The message is simple: stop being the technician; step up as a small-business CEO. Track the right metrics, hire deliberately, and run the proven play.We also map the path to liquidity. A top salary can't be sold; a well-run franchise can. Learn how to structure territories around an EBITDA target, why month 18 is the turning point, and how resales move quickly—often inside the system—using creative structures like partial seller financing. "By mapping fiber optic cables accurately, we can transform them into dense seismic arrays. This opens the door to city-scale imaging and monitoring." Haipeng Li explains how distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) can turn existing urban fiber optic cables into powerful seismic arrays for near-surface imaging and monitoring. By using everyday traffic and ambient noise, his team can track groundwater changes, detect geohazards, and study fault structures without costly field deployments. This approach offers a new way for geophysicists, engineers, and city planners to work together for safer, more resilient urban environments. KEY TAKEAWAYS > Existing fiber optic cables can be transformed into dense, city-scale seismic arrays using DAS technology. > Vehicle-induced seismic waves provide highly repeatable data for monitoring small subsurface changes, while ambient noise helps extend imaging depth. > Urban DAS monitoring can reveal how infrastructure affects groundwater recharge and can support hazard assessment and infrastructure planning. GUEST BIO Haipeng Li is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Geophysics Department at Stanford University, advised by Biondo Biondi in the Stanford Earth Imaging Project (SEP). His research centers on spatiotemporal subsurface monitoring, with a focus on developing efficient and robust time-lapse seismic waveform inversion methods and uncertainty quantification approaches. He applies these techniques to real-world challenges such as geological CO2 sequestration for the energy transition and groundwater monitoring in urban environments, often leveraging Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data. He is a student member of the AGU, SSA, and SEG. LINKS * Haipeng Li, Jingxiao Liu, and Biondo L. Many garment factories have shuttered amid a decades-long decline in U.S. apparel production, and tariffs won't be enough to bring them back. But higher-end, higher-quality clothing can still be made at a profit stateside. Today, we'll take lessons from one suit factory in New Bedford, Massachusetts. But first: Home Depot reported disappointing profits this morning, and more retailers are having to weigh price costs, dwindling warehouse inventories, and price-conscious consumers.
