In recent years, many bank branches have closed across Australia. According to the government, approximately 36 percent of regional bank branches have closed since 2017. However, Queensland Country Bank is opening a new branch in Maroochydore in April. Queensland Country Bank CEO Aaron Newman told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "I think it just makes sense for us to have a physical presence in that location to support the growth in the community." "We've had a presence there with a lending centre for the last couple of years, and it's been a tremendous success," Mr Newman continued. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM, OTC:CYPMF) executive chair Matt Fifield talked with Proactive's Tylah Tully about a resource update at the Maroochydore Project and its divestment of the Meekatharra Project to Solstice Minerals Ltd (ASX: SLS). Fifield highlighted that Maroochydore, which is 80 kilometres from the company's Nifty Copper Complex in WA's Paterson Province, now contains a substantial 371 million tonnes at 0.43% copper, with a cobalt credit. He explained that Cyprium had reassessed the deposit with a sulphide-focused approach, leading to a clearer picture of its economic potential. At a higher cut-off grade, the project holds approximately 100 million tonnes at just under 0.7% copper, representing a strong potential mine opportunity. The company is now considering ways to integrate Maroochydore with Nifty's infrastructure, including ore sorting, leaching and other processing concepts. While further work is required, Fifield expressed confidence in the project's long-term value. Additionally, Cyprium Metals announced the divestment of the Meekatharra Project to Solstice Minerals Ltd, a deal involving cash and shares. The move aligns with its strategy to focus on core assets in the Paterson region, enhancing shareholder value. Looking ahead, Fifield pointed to ongoing technical work, a strategic alliance with McMahon, and financial updates as key areas to watch in 2025. #CypriumMetals #CopperMining #Maroochydore #MiningStocks #Cobalt #PatersonRegion #NiftyCopper #Meekatharra #SolsticeMinerals #Investing #MiningNews #ProactiveInvestors

G'day Folks, Today Andy joins me as we keep tabs on the SMART City agenda that keeps on rolling forwards. Any new large area developments in areas around us are all marked to be a hub of new technology mixed in with residential, commercial and even industrial allocations. SMART as in Self-Monitoring Analytics & Reporting Technology is what the technocratic agenda wants implemented in these allocated areas. It's all driven by the UN Agenda 2030 plan for sustainable development. Goal 11 to be precise. Australia is steamrolling ahead in fulfilling this requirement. Bradfield City in the western Sydney area is earmarked to be the next big SMART city in the state of New South Wales. We discussed the possibility of this area being set aside to be the next SMART city. Maroochydore in Queenslands Sunshine Coast area is also setting up a new SMART city district. What about existing cities? Will they be SMART cities too? Absolutely. The upgrading of current tech infrastructure has been underway for many years now. Think about how many cameras you now see at just about every intersection you drive through. Major roads fitted with licence plate reading technology. 5G antennas being installed on light and telegraph poles all over the place. Why? What's so necessary about all of this technology? The track and trace agenda wants data. Your data, my data, ALL data. Data is the new oil. It's more valuable than you think. The social engineers know this and that's why they're setting up the technocratic SMART city grid all around us. The ultimate goal is control. The use of our precious data to control every aspect of our lives. Please be sure to give us a 5 Star Rating and Review on Apple Podcasts and any other podcasting app you use. Gary Kliese has been a fixture on the Skychannel service from NSW northern tracks for 23 years. He was appointed and tutored by Graham McNeice who remains his greatest supporter. Gary begins by sharing his sadness about the recent flooding which has seriously impacted his hometown of Ballina. He remembers the fateful phone call to Graham McNeice which resulted in a career after race riding. He talks of the many tracks to which he travels to present Sky's race day service, and the time he spends on form analysis between race meetings. Gary's travel schedule is punishing. He usually returns home to Ballina when his Sky commitments are completed. He pays tribute to the participants who are happy to join him on air to discuss the prospects of their horses. He pays a special tribute to regular co-host Priscilla Looker. Gary also acknowledges the contribution of Melinda Graham who filled in during Priscilla's absence on maternity leave. Back to his riding days, and Gary talks of his apprenticeship to the late Bruce McLachlan. He shares the story of McLachlan's plan to give his apprentice a first up win. Torrential rain on the Gold Coast brought the plan undone, but the story had a happy ending. Gary looks back with dismay on a twelve months disqualification which continues to be a thorn in his side. His first day back in the saddle had a fairy tale ending. The former talented jockey expresses his admiration for the skills of Henry Davis- the man he regards as the best trainer he ever knew. He looks back on a winner he rode for Davis at Eagle Farm. Gary reflects on his marriage to Jenny Powell in 1981 and a move to Ballina to escape Brisbane's powerful riding ranks. He talks of sons Luke and Brad who were always too big to be jockeys but made their marks as horsemen in other pursuits. Gary talks of his flying start on the northern rivers and the Murwillumbah race fall which should never have happened. A knee injury put him on the sidelines for twelve months. When he resumed, the new season was already two months in. He looks back on the sensational winning run which saw him get up to win his first NRRA premiership. He started the next season with a flurry of winners but then lady luck turned her back again. Gary graphically describes the most freakish of accidents which put him out for another twelve months. He talks of a chance meeting with an eminent orthopaedic surgeon. You'll love Gary's story about the show horse he rode every day to strengthen his leg before a return to race riding. The horse happened to be a thoroughbred but had never raced. Mr. Kliese changed all of that. He talks of another two NRRA premierships, and pays tribute to his two favourite northern rivers trainers. He also acknowledges the jockeys for whom he had special admiration. We take Gary back to his early days in Brisbane when he got to ride some very smart horses. He rates his favourites. The sixty one year old reflects with sadness on the loss of sister Lorraine and brother Raymond in 1992. The siblings died only six months apart. Gary sends a cheerio to sister Narelle in Maroochydore and brother Graham who's still booting home the winners in north Queensland. Gary Kliese was still riding regular winners in 1996 when another bizarre accident brought down the curtain on a career he loved. His mount Lukawae snapped a foreleg in the straight at Coffs Harbour and speared his jockey to the track. Another runner crashed over the top of Lukawae and landed on top of the hapless Kliese. He was left with no feeling from the neck down. His account of the aftermath is pretty distressing. Gary finishes on a bright note as he reflects on eleven years as a Ballina Jockey Club Committeeman, three of those years as Chairman. This is a laid back chat with one of Sky Racing's most respected presenters and a former jockey of considerable talent.
After building a career in some of Australia's best kitchens and Daniel Dobra (Market Bistro, Maroochydore) got the wheels in motion to open his very own restaurant paying homage to his creation heritage. But covid landed and not only ended that dream but saw him search for anything for employment to survive. With nothing to lose, a spur of the moment decision to move states landed him not only the dream job he'd yearned for, but a lifestyle and balance he so desperately needed too.https://marketbistro.com.auFollow Deep In The Weeds on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/deepintheweedspodcast/?hl=enFollow Huckhttps://www.instagram.com/huckstergram/Follow Rob Locke (Executive Producer)https://www.instagram.com/foodwinedine/LISTEN TO OUR OTHER FOOD PODCASTShttps://linktr.ee/DeepintheWeedsNetwork

We spoke to Cam the line king'!!! He was the person first in-line at the grand opening of the biggest spotlight store in the world, Maroochydore!
There's another very mixed bag this week but it's mostly good news in these trying times. Up in Queensland, the tribunal there is chipping away at restrictive pet by-laws in a building called Trafalgar Towers where one resident was forced to carry her blind dog up 12 storeys to their home. The Body Corporate has now been told in no uncertain terms that the by-law is invalid and to get it off their books. As this story details, this is the same building that not only tried to ban other people's pets when their caretaker had his own dog in the building, but then tried to force owners to transport their pets across common property in cages. Later in the podcast, we also discuss whether you would ever buy an apartment in Queensland, as part of a much broader chat about a report on rentvesting. As described in detail in this story, the co-authors of a forthcoming book called The Female Investor, have set out to show women how they can secure their financial futures through the ownership of property. And as a side issue, they have identified areas where property prices are relatively low but demand for rental accommodation is high. That makes these areas strong candidates for potential rent-vesting, where you rent a home in an area where you want to live, but invest in an area where you can afford to buy, let the property and take advantage of all the taxation and other benefits that follow. Finally, we discuss how to find a good strata manager – and avoid a bad one. That's all in this week's Flat Chat Wrap. TRANSCRIPT IN FULL Jimmy 00:00 It's all happening up in Queensland. Sue 00:01 Yes? Jimmy 00:03 It's kind of like they've woken up, up there, to stuff that's happening in strata and they've started going "hang on; we can't keep doing this stuff." The latest thing is a place called Trafalgar Towers, which has been taken by owners for the second time, I think, in five years, in issues over pets. Sue 00:24 Oh yes, this is the building that wouldn't allow pets to go into the lift, isn't it? Jimmy 00:28 Yes, so we'll talk about that in a minute. We're going to talk about rent-vestmint... Sue 00:33 Rentvesting. Jimmy 00:35 Rentvesting, and that's where you rent a place you want to live in; buy the place that you can afford and rent that out to other people. Sue 00:43 That's right. Jimmy 00:44 So it's one way of getting into the property market and, we've had a letter asking how do you choose a good strata manager, so we'll be talking about that, too. I'm Jimmy Thomson, I write the Flat Chat column for the Australian Financial Review. Sue 01:00 And I'm Sue Williams and I write about property for Domain and the Sydney Morning Herald and the AFR. Jimmy 01:05 And this is the Flat Chat Wrap. [MUSIC] Jimmy Trafalgar Towers in Maroochydore has been in the news, again. They have a bylaw about pets and the bylaw says that you cannot take your pets in the lift. Sue 01:34 How many lifts have they got? Jimmy 01:37 I don't know; doesn't matter. Sue 01:39 They would have more than one lift; they'll always have two lifts, at least. Jimmy 01:43 So, a couple who owned an apartment there (and I think it was on something like the 15th floor); they were told... When they bought the place, they had two dogs, and they were told there are no pets allowed here and about four or five years ago, somebody challenged this, because the caretaker's dog was allowed in the building. Sue 02:07 One rule for him and another for everybody else! Jimmy 02:10 The whole caretaker thing in Queensland is just a joke anyway. So, they managed to persuade them to allow pets, but they created this pet bylaw that said (back then), things like, the pets had to be carried in a contained cage, at any point that they were on common property, and had to be taken down the fire stairs and brought in and out by the side-entrance...

Coffee with Samso Episode 69 with Barry Cahill, Executive Director of Cyprium Metals Limited (ASX: CYM) Cyprium Metals is now a copper producer by acquiring the Nifty Copper Mine and Maroochydore Copper project. When I was preparing for this Coffee with Samso, Cyprium had a AUD20M market capitalisation, however, that morning, they announced the acquisition which will make them a producer in 2022. What will their market capitalisation be after this move will become very clear in the coming week. I have been a copper bull for a long time and I am very interested in what this company can do with these projects. Barry Cahill comes from a strong history of making projects like this work and hearing him speak gives me the same confidence. He has a wealth of experience and this new challenge will make him work hard for the next few years. From what I can tell, the new story for Cyprium is going to make them a lone sailor in this sector of the copper market. I cannot think of a company that can produce metal in 18 months and with a large exploration potential. Barry Cahill shares with us his thoughts and passion on the path forward.

GET FACT UP EPISODE 17 - VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Hi. I'm Chris Hogan, founder and CEO of Me Media. It's time get fact up! Thanks for tuning in, Australia. Last week we caught up on Twitter's algorithmic updates. And Instagram's awesome new feature. This week, we'll be focused on Facebook and Google. In breaking news, Facebook has announced that they will be launching ads in their Messenger app. Some of you might be like "ugh!" And marketers will be like "yaaay!" Set to launch in the second quarter of this year, businesses will have the ability to send ads as messages to people who have previously initiated a chat thread with the company. Facebook has started informing businesses to get consumers to message them so that now they will be able to reach them with advertisements when this feature launches. But have no fear, Facebook is not going to let everybody just bombard you with messages. And for those of you that have voluntarily had a chat with a business, will make you eligible to be contacted by them. That's all for Facebook! Let's get over to Google. Google is looking to speed up the internet with it's initiative AMP Pages. AMP means Accelerated Mobile Page and it's a project that Google and Twitter have been working on together to speed up the internet. Basically, it's a stripped down form of HTML that must use streamlined versions of CSS where images don't load until they're scrolled into view. What does that mean? Basically, code just got better. It's projected that AMP compatibility will encourage more people to read from the mobile web. Especially taking into account these pages load up to 85 percent faster than traditional mobile web pages. But here's heads up: Google is really strict on how you build these AMP pages. So if you're not 100 percent sure, you're going to have to talk to your developer. Sorry! The developers can then validate the AMP pages using a Chrome plugin, and there's also plugins available for certain content management systems. So, I guess, why am I telling you? Let's talk to a web developer. Oh, that's us. So, make sure you get your developer to get your website all AMP'd up and deliver faster web pages for smart phone viewing. So Google are focusing heavy on mobile, We know that, right? Well, recently, they've just brought out a travel experience update that is changing the face of web browsing, again. Though this new interface does make it slightly more difficult for users to access organic web results. Google's travel search is extremely user friendly, allowing those with the travel bug to access flight pricing, popular destinations, and hotels in their chosen area, all from one simple search. Google also gives you the option to filter by dates, interests, and pricing, which allows you to further tailor your search to fit your potential holiday. This experimental feature is great for people who are looking to travel. But, we can see some usability improvements potentially coming soon. Like we said, Google is focusing on smart phones. And they have just updated their app technology to be more Aussie friendly. Okay Google, where is the best place to get a cold one? Closest bottler. - [phone voice] Here are the listings for closest bottler. Available to Australians now, many have applauded the new voice for being better able to pronounce local names, especially those that are of Aboriginal origin. Okay, Google, How far to Maroochydore? - [phone voice] The drive from your location to Maroochydore is 1,026 point 6 kilometers. - Thanks for sticking around, Australia. We hope you got up to date. We had some Facebook updates and Google updates. We know that everybody is trying to make this place a lot better. See you next week, Australia! G'day. mate! Wanna go down to a bar? What are you doing this Saturday?

Authorities say a New Tripoli man got into an argument with another man around 8:45 a.m. Friday and defecated on the victim.
