Dazu gehören auch Hits wie "Bonnie & Clyde" und "Paradies". Als die Toten Hosen im Frühjahr 2026 ihre Tour "Trink aus! Wir müssen gehen" ankündigen, ahnen viele Fans schon, dass es sich um einen Abschied handelt. Für die Meilensteine-Redaktion stand fest: Es wird Zeit, die Jungs rund um Leadsänger Campino zu ehren. Nur mit welchem Album? In unserem Online-Voting habt ihr euch für "Opium fürs Volk" entschieden. Es ist im selben Jahr wie "Le Frisur" von Die Ärzte erschienen – und ebenfalls ein Konzeptalbum. Einer, der Die Toten Hosen nicht nur kennt, sondern auch gut mit ihnen befreundet ist, ist Ingo Knollmann von den Donots. Als Podcastgast in dieser Folge erzählt er, dass die Hosen sein allererstes Konzert waren und ihn dazu inspiriert haben, eine eigene Band zu gründen. 1996 waren Die Toten Hosen auf dem bis dato Höhepunkt ihrer Karriere. Mit dem Album "Kauf mich!" erreichten sie Platz eins der deutschen Albumcharts und mussten sich mit der Frage herumschlagen, ob ihre Musik überhaupt noch Punk sei. Sie hatten aber auch ihr eigenes Label gegründet und damit neue Freiheiten gewonnen. Mit "Opium fürs Volk" schlug die Band eine klare Richtung ein: mehr hin zum Stadionrock – und man könnte auch vorsichtig sagen, dass sie dem Mainstream ein Stück näher gekommen sind. Das Konzept fürs Album entwickelte Sänger Campino, nachdem er auf Einladung des Abts Stephan Schröder eine Woche im Benediktinerabtei Königsmünster verbracht hatte. Campino nimmt dort am klösterlichen Leben teil und beschäftigt und sich mit den großen Fragen des Lebens – kein Wunder also, dass der Albumtitel von einem Zitat des Philosophen Karl Marx inspiriert ist. Klar wird der religiöse Bezug direkt auf dem Opener, "Vaterunser", der das wichtigste Gebet der Christen aufgreift und auch wie ein Gebet klingt. Für viele Punk-Fans war das sicherlich ein gewöhnungsbedürftiger Einstieg. Wer sich davon nicht abschrecken lässt und tiefer ins Album einsteigt, erkennt, dass zwischen der Religions- und Gesellschaftskritik jede Menge Selbstironie steckt. Während in "Und so weiter" deutsche Spießer und ihre Faulheit aufs Korn genommen werden, erlebt das Gangsterpaar in "Bonnie & Clyde" ein Abenteuer nach dem anderen – zumindest stellen sie es sich so vor. Man kann den Song als Hymne für Punks und Gangster interpretieren oder eben daraus schließen, dass alles nur eine Fantasie ist. Genau das zeichnet laut Ingo Knollmann die Toten Hosen aus: "Die Hosen sind in ihrer Art auch Punk, aber eben nicht dieses Brutale, dieses Aggressive. [...] Und das macht es dann auch aus, warum sie wirklich für viele so hörbar sind und auch Campino als Mensch so interessant und sympathisch ist." Neben den verschiedenen Themen und Lebensfragen, die auf dem Album behandelt werden, ist auch die Musik, die zu hören ist, "bemerkenswert vielseitig", findet Host Frank König. Gregorianische Gesänge teilen sich auf dem Album einen Platz mit Dudelsack, Flöten, Streicher, Synthesizer, Punk, Folk, Rock und Reggae. Und diese Mischung, die von einem religiösen roten Faden, durchzogen ist, geht auf. Der "HHopcast" ist ein Bierpodcast und allein die Idee finden wir ziemlich großartig. Regine und Stefan begrüßen einmal im Monat ganz unterschiedliche Gäste und haben äußerst vielfältige Themen rund um's Bier. Dabei kommt meist ein sehr launiger Podcast heraus, der nicht nur etwas für Bier-Liebhaber:innen ist. Ebenfalls nominiert ist "Bugtales". Bei diesem Podcast erzählen sich die beiden Biolog:innen Jasmin und Lorenz immer eine Geschichte, meist garniert mit vielen Kuriositäten, aus dem weiten Feld der Bio-Wissenschaften. Denn zusammen mit "HHopcast" und "Bugtales" wurde "Being Timo Schultz" nominiert. Es ist schon eine ziemlich bunte Mischung, die sich auf der Nominierungsliste befindet. Der "HHopcast" ist ein Bierpodcast und allein die Idee finden wir ziemlich großartig. Regine und Stefan begrüßen einmal im Monat ganz unterschiedliche Gäste und haben äußerst vielfältige Themen rund um's Bier. Dabei kommt meist ein sehr launiger Podcast heraus, der nicht nur etwas für Bier-Liebhaber:innen ist. Ebenfalls nominiert ist "Bugtales". Bei diesem Podcast erzählen sich die beiden Biolog:innen Jasmin und Lorenz immer eine Geschichte, meist garniert mit vielen Kuriositäten, aus dem weiten Feld der Bio-Wissenschaften. Lorenz könnten einige von euch kennen, da er auch hier beim MillernTon bereits aktiv gewesen ist (zuletzt mit einem spannenden Artikel zum Umgang mit dem Corona-Virus im Leistungssport). Und dann ist da noch eines unserer Herzensprojekte nominiert: "Being Timo Schultz" - vor knapp einem Jahr, also Ende März 2021, ging dieses Projekt in die heiße Phase der Produktion. Bis dahin hatten wir "nur" Gespräche aufgezeichnet, aber nun begannen wir das Skript zu schreiben, AFM-Mitschnitte zu scouten und erste Abschnitte einzusprechen. Stück für Stück setzten wir die Einzelteile zusammen und erst ganz am Ende wurde uns bewusst, was für ein großes Projekt das eigentlich geworden ist. Und da diese drei Podcasts nun vereint, dass sie für "Die Goldenen Blogger" nominiert wurden, haben wir uns Anfang März gedacht, dass wir uns gegenseitig mal vorstellen. Herausgekommen ist ein kurzer Podcast, bei dem Stefan und Regine vom HHopcast, Lorenz von Bugtales und Debbie und Tim vom MillernTon sich selbst und ihr Projekt vorstellen. Viel Spaß beim Hören!
