Today, Sarah and I move into parts 3 and 4 of the Audacity Factor. The third principle: capacity power emphasizes the importance of honoring oneself, acknowledging that everyone's time capacity varies due to individual circumstances. Sarah rejects the notion that success hinges solely on finding time, advocating instead for alignment with personal priorities and God's timing. She highlights the interconnection between capacity, priorities, and promise, and to give yourself permission to progress at your own pace and seek support when needed.  The fourth principle, promise, encourages you to make a commitment to honor your purpose, priorities, and capacity, while also seeking support when needed. Dr. Mel echoes the importance of seeking help and emphasizes that true strength lies in vulnerability and reliance on divine guidance. Get Connected with Sarahhttps://getcorporaterehab.com/speaker/Sarah@getcorporaterehab.comLadies, are you in a new season of your life? Today I have a conversation with Sarah Khan where we discuss her framework, "The Audacity Factor," a concept rooted in defying conventional norms and embracing one's unique approach to business. Drawing from her experience as a business process consultant, Sarah discusses the audacity required to break free from traditional 9-to-5 structures and pursue entrepreneurial endeavors. We unpack the first two or the four key principles of the Audacity Factor: Purpose, Priorities. We stress defining then refining one's purpose as the motivation behind business decisions and tailoring priorities to individual business stages and the importance of sustainable growth anchored in purpose and guided by faith. Sarah Khan is a disruptive speaker, mentor, and business consultant for women, and creator of the Entrepreneur Growth HierarchyTM️ and The Audacity FactorTM️ -- two pivotal frameworks that allow women to build sustainable businesses with clarity and ease. Sarah left a lucrative career to become an entrepreneur and speaker on a mission to shift the way women see what is possible in the areas of leadership, merit, achievement, and belief as they work toward financial independence, sustainability, and autonomy.Get Connected with Sarahhttps://getcorporaterehab.com/speaker/Sarah@getcorporaterehab.comVirtual Wellness-Calling all Teachers, Social Workers & Tech-ed professionals. Pakistan has one of the largest gender gaps in voting in the world. In the 2018 election, the number of women who voted was 11 million less than the number of men who voted. What can we do to close this gender gap? How can we reach a state where women are able to exercise their democratic rights as voters on an equal footing with men? But before we talk about that, why is it even important to close this gender gap? To unpack these questions, I bring in Sarah Khan who is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Yale University where she does research on gender and politics. We talk today about some research that we did together, along with Ali Cheema and Shandana Mohmand. This research was published in the American Political Science Review. In this episode, we take you through how we found what works to increase women's turnout in Pakistan, why our findings are surprising, and may also be deeply problematic! How does confidence compare to motivation? We always feel like we need to be more motivated to get more done and stick to our goals, but what if that's not true? I want to show you why confidence is the key to success, not motivation. This episode is all about understanding the human brain. Our brains are wired for survival, so if you can understand the basic survival instincts in your brain, you can use them to your advantage. I'm walking you through how the different sections of the brain function at different levels and the three survival instincts that motivate your actions. I'm here to help you understand how the brain works, figure out why it's not just about motivation, and unlock your confidence. If you could use a little more confidence, this is for you. Show notes available at www.andrealiebross.com/podcast77Resources Mentioned: Episode 73: Remove Your Limiting Beliefs: https://andrealiebross.com/remove-your-limiting-beliefs/Episode 55: Client Success Story: How to Create Routines with Sarah Khan: https://andrealiebross.com/client-success-story-how-to-create-routines/ Take the Reveal the Root Quiz: www.andrealiebross.com/quizI would love to connect on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/deliberatedirectionI would love to connect on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andrea.liebross.coachingThe Get a Grip Masterclass starting September 12th will teach you how to get a clear picture of each and every facet of your business, in just 5 20 minutes increments, so that you'll easily know what needs work or needs to change in order to get to that next level. Do you want to hear more about the Director of Operations (DOO) certification program from someone who has gone through the program?   My guest today is certified DOO Sarah Khan, who has come through our Director of Operations certification program. Sarah has the ability to help people with leadership and business development, and I know you will enjoy her wisdom! For the full show notes, visit theopsauthority.com/podcast/112 Meet Sarah Sarah Khan is an operations strategist and consultant committed to busting the BS in the online service space. Her expertise is in bringing clarity to chaos by helping ex-corporate, visionary women business owners identify and prioritize clear action steps to achieve their goals, while managing all the moving pieces of their business. But her passion lies in rewiring corporate & employee mindset: the myths and "shoulds" of what it means to run a successful online business and the mental and emotional transition of moving from corporate employee to business owner in your own right. Through her grounded, pragmatic approach to business and leadership development, she sees through the FOMO, cuts out the "buts" and holds you accountable to your vision.   Sarah was in corporate for 15 years in the project management and executive coaching space, and then transitioned to higher education. When she became a mother, she was laid off, then laid off again after she had her second child. This made her want to rethink her devotion to her corporate career, but she didn't consider entrepreneurship. She started dabbling in the online space as a VA, pivoted into the OBM space, and eventually made her way into the DOO certification program.    Interested in the DOO certification program? Hostage diplomacy is a term used to describe the practice of detention of foreign citizens by States for diplomatic end. It often involves arbitrary arrest, torture, and ill treatment of those held hostage. In this episode of The REDRESS Podcast we discuss how States use hostage diplomacy for political leverage and its growing prevalence of use by authoritarian regimes in international negotiations, as well as why States should be obliged to use consular protection to shield their nationals from torture abroad. We also hear from Richard Ratcliffe, husband of British-Iranian charity worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, on why he believes that Nazanin's current arbitrary detention by the Iranian government is attributable to hostage diplomacy. But last fall, Sarah—alongside branding consultant Paula Franklin, cofounder and editorial director of Fathom Jeralyn Gerba, partner at Xhibition PR Nestor Lara Baeza, and CEO of the Africa Tourism Association Naledi Khabo—launched Travel Is Better in Color, an effort to diversify the viewpoints shared by the travel industry. An Instagram and newsletter, Travel Is Better in Color highlights English-language travel writers, photographers, videographers, and more to showcase the stories being told and the work the industry can be doing to share broader perspectives on traveling today.  “These stories have existed, these voices have existed,” says Naledi. “It was just a question of amplification, or identification and amplification. And I think that we were looking to do that and to build the level of awareness.” This week, we're joined by Sarah, Naledi, and Paula to talk about their own experiences in the travel space, the impetus for Travel Is Better in Color, and how the travel industry and publications can champion a diverse mix of storytelling long term. Transitional justice aims to address the legacy of vast human rights violations committed during conflict in order to ensure a better future. A lot has been spoken and written about the importance to place the needs of victims at the heart of transitional justice processes. However, often victims have little room to influence these processes. In this episode, we discuss what are the main obstacles that impede the meaningful participation of those most affected by conflicts in these processes and what can be done to improve this situation. Joining us to discuss this is an activist and survivor of the Uganda conflict, Sylvia Acan; Marlies Stappers from Impunity Watch, Luke Moffet from Queens' Belfast University, and Amir Suliman, a Sudanese lawyer who works for the African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies on human rights issues in Sudan. We are pleased to introduce the first edition of the REDRESS Podcast, bringing you the latest in our efforts to secure justice for survivors of torture as featured in our monthly newsletter. In this podcast, we set out our concerns for Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Jagtar Singh Johal and their right to medical treatment during the Covid-19 outbreak. We also warn of the implications of the possible pardon and release of the former dictator of Chad Hissène Habré, who is currently serving a life sentence in Senegal, and Sudan's Omar al-Bashir, who is wanted by the ICC for crimes against humanity and genocide committed during his 30-year rule. We also discuss the recent landmark judgement in the case of Azul Rojas Marín, a transgender woman who was beaten and raped by several police officers in Peru in 2008 because of her sexual orientation. In March, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights found Peru responsible for her torture and ordered measures to eradicate systemic discrimination against the LGBT+ community in Peru. This is the first judgement by a human rights court on LGBT+ discriminatory torture, and creates a much-needed precedent for this community in the Americas and beyond. Grab your favorite cocktail or drink and sit back with Lenya and Alexandra as they talk to Sarah Khan about why she left law school to become a therapist and comedian. Sarah joins the podcast to talk about rebellion, from religion, and from this misogynistic society. All three share their most embarrassing vomit stories, as well as commiserate about men, relationships, dating, family, and more. Sarah Khan is a Pakistani-Muslim, 1st generation, Los Angeles Native. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Political Science from UCLA and is a recent law school drop-out. Six weeks into law school, she made the jump without a parachute, and decided to do a solo (first time) trip to New York City. During her trip, she realized she wanted to help people in a more direct, immediate, and intimate way and is now pursuing a master's in marriage and family therapy. Besides her educational pursuits, she works for a nonprofit org helping other people find jobs by day, and practices her stand up comedy routines by night.
