Supergirl and J'onn are investigating a robbery in National City. The crime is being perpetrated by a group of aliens that would not normally work together. The items they are stealing are fairly benign separately, but together could build a bomb that would level a skyscraper.  This is a story that Kara could use to put Catco on top right? Andrea doesn't think so.  She wants articles about what the Superfriends do for fun.  That will give her the bump in ratings she craves. Kelly is on her first assignment for social services. She heads to a group home where a young boy named Joey with EMP powers is acting out. When Kelly speaks to him, she discovers he is stressed that his incarcerated brother Orlando is overusing his powers. This could lead to irreversible harm or even death if it were to continue. Kelly enlists the help of Kara to go speak to the warden of the prison where Orlando is being held, to inquire about his well-being. Meanwhile Nia is sent home from work for falling asleep in a staff meeting. She is still plagued with doubts regarding her powers. She is desperate to speak to her late mother to ask for her wisdom and guidance.  What price will she pay to get the advice and reassurance she craves?  When Nyxly invades Nia's dreamscape Green Butterfly begins to worry the price will be very, very high. Soon it becomes clear Orlando is part of the group of aliens Supergirl and J'onn have been looking for.  All five are being removed from their work assignment and diverted to another job.   Turns out these inmates had been told if they complete this side job then they will be set free. This appeals to Orlando because then he can return to caring for his brother Joey. Kelly is worried about the conditions she sees in the foster home. She returns under cover of darkness to retrieve security camera footage of the children being harmed by their caregiver.   Kara and William have a breakthrough in their story. They were able to follow the money to a mob boss that wanted the assortment of stolen items to build a bomb.  In the end the bad guys were stopped, and William was able to get an exclusive interview with Supergirl to appease Andrea. As Nia takes another nap, I am disturbed to find Nia falling victim to Nyxly's manipulations. The imp offers her 24 hours with her late mother in exchange for Nia's help escaping this dreamscape.  The wise owl tries to warn our Dreamer about the possible treachery. However, as we end the episode Nia is accepting Nyxly's bargain. Green Butterfly is filled with dread over the consequences that will need to be paid.  Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Supergirl's latest adventure. Until then, have a super week!

152. 9 Principles for Unstoppable Success

Monetization Nation Podcast

Welcome back to another episode of Monetization Nation. In our last episode with Kelly Roach, we discussed strategies to successfully run live product launches, Kelly's entrepreneurial journey, and the power of collaboration. In today's episode, we'll be discussing nine principles for success from Kelly's book Unstoppable.   It's Never Too Late   Before we dive into these principles, Kelly talked about another topic in her book that really resonated with me: it's never too late to start to dream big and achieve amazing success. Kelly shares several examples of people who didn't achieve success until a little later in their lives.    Julia Child was 39 before she published her first cookbook. After working in advertising and media, her TV debut came at the age of 51. Ray Kroc bought McDonald's in 1954 at the age of 52. Laura Ingalls Wilder was 65 before she published the first of the Little House books. Colonel Sanders franchised Kentucky Fried Chicken when he was 62 and sold it for $2 million 12 years later. The first true Walmart opened when Sam Walton was 44. Henry Ford didn't launch the Ford Motor Company until he was 40.   We often think if we aren't successful by a certain age then we never will be. For most of us, our greatest success is going to come in our 40s and 50s. When we are that age, we're actually in a better position to find success because we're more mature and we have more life experience.   “Wherever you are, do not let your life be wasted. It's never too late. It's not about how old or young you are, it's about the amount of tenacity, determination, and perseverance that you have.” - Kelly Roach     Stop Resenting the 1% and Join Them     Kelly has seen many people who have a negative attitude toward people who are wealthy, yet in the next breath, they're saying they wish they were that wealthy. If we have a goal to become wealthy we can't resent people who have achieved that goal. Kelly said, “You're not going to achieve something that you resent, you're going to repel that. You're telling the universe ‘I don't want that. I don't like that.'”   While some of the 1% had previous advantages in their lives, many of them are self-made. They worked hard to get to where they are today. Instead of resenting them, we can learn from them. They have given us an example as they've carved their paths to success, and if we learn from their experiences we may find success too.     Cultivate the Entrepreneurial Spirit     Most of us have had 18 years of programming telling us that failure is bad. In our culture, it is very important to get good grades or do well in athletics or music, or other extracurricular activities. This can set us up for success in many ways, but it can also make us afraid of failure.   When Kelly was first starting as an entrepreneur, she was so afraid of failure. She was used to being in the corporate world where if you make a mistake, you can get fired. In entrepreneurship, however, we have to make mistakes in order to learn how to execute. Mistakes and risks are part of the job, and it can be hard to shift our mindset to realize that mistakes are okay.   “If you only play it safe and you stay in the box of what you already know how to do, you're not going anywhere,” Kelly said.     Act Like a CEO if You Want to Earn Like a CEO     Everybody wants success. Everybody wants a big house, expensive vacations, and their dream car. People who have those things live their lives in a specific way. They have discipline and perseverance, they've made sacrifices, they make investments in themselves, and they hold themselves to a certain standard all because they see themselves as a CEO.   Kelly has seen many people who think, “Once I'm successful, I'll do the work.” They're trying to put the cart before the horse. We can't start working hard after we get the promotion. We have to work hard to get the promotion in the first place. We can't say, “I'll build a team once I hit six figures,” because we're not going to get there without a team. And we can't wait to take risks until we see the payoffs.   Entrepreneurship requires us to dive in and give it everything we've got. It's not something we can just dip our toes in and find success. Success is much more likely when we start acting like a CEO, putting in the hard work, and making the hard decisions.     Act like a Leader     Along with acting like CEOs, we also need to act as leaders. Kelly said. “You have to see yourself as a leader. You have to conduct yourself as a leader. You have to be a leader in all things: word and deed. If you want to go far and go high in life—and it doesn't matter what that is; that could be at home with your children, in your relationship with your spouse, in your community, in your church, in your business and your career—you have to conduct yourself at that level if you want the rewards of life that come at that level.”   We are always at the podium as entrepreneurs. Everything we say and do is on display. So we must be ready to act as leaders at all times.      Develop Business Mastery     Growing a business has a lot of moving pieces: sales, marketing, infrastructure, systems, team building, leadership, HR, legal, etc. There are a lot of moving pieces to build a company, but often entrepreneurship is simplified down to acquiring clients.   Someone can secure the huge investor and still lose everything, going right back to where they started. Someone can get the big win on the front end with clients, but they don't have the backend systems to support it so they lose them all.   “Business mastery,” Kelly said, “is really about investing in committing to learning the components of building and running a successful business and creating mastery of your own skillset in being the leader. . . . Really think about the energy and effort that you're putting into developing your own skills as a CEO and as a business owner and [make] sure that the way you're investing in mastering these different fundamentals of business aligns with how high and how far you want to go. Your business can't grow beyond your growth.”     Invest in Ourselves     Let's face it, none of us know it all. None of us have achieved what we're trying to achieve before. But there are people who have achieved our goals before or have experience in the things we're trying to do.    In order to reach our goals, we need to be investing in ourselves. “Get the mentorship, the information, education, support, the resources that you need in order to achieve the outcomes that you want.,” Kelly said. “Your best investment is always going to be in your worth because you touch on everything else that you come in contact with.”   We should be investing in ourselves every day, even if we only have time for something small like listening to an informational podcast. We can't fill up the gas tank in our car once a year. It's something we've constantly got to keep up.     Don't Avoid Sales     Many entrepreneurs and small business owners almost have this phobia of sales. They don't want to spend time on it, they don't have a sales system, strategy, or salesperson in their company or on their team.   The problem with this is that everything in life from landing clients to getting kids to do their chores is sales. Everything is sales; everything involves a negotiation. “This is something that the vast majority of people really avoid. They have this negative perception, but it's really helping someone to do what's in their own best interest by showing them what's in it for them,” Kelly said. One of the most important skills that an entrepreneur can learn is how to be a great salesperson because everything is sales.     Be Disciplined      We often look at successful people and say, “Wow. They're so talented.” Talent does play a role in success, but it isn't the most important thing. What is the most important thing? Discipline.    Discipline is available to anyone. We choose to be persistent. We choose to be disciplined enough to work through challenges, to do what we don't feel like doing because it's the right thing to do, and to be a good leader even when we're exhausted and don't want to get back on the phone with someone one more time for the day.   “Discipline is the price that you pay to achieve greatness in every area of life, and almost always the answer to why you don't have what you want in your life is discipline,” Kelly said.   When I went to college, I received the largest private scholarship the university offered, but I was nowhere near the smartest kid there. What I had in my favor is I could outwork anybody. A lot of the time the biggest scholarships, best grades and GPAs, and the best business opportunities don't go to the smartest person, but they go to the person who's willing to discipline themselves and outwork everybody.     Focus on Something Bigger      If our goal is just to pay the bills, we're only going to get so far. Paying the bills, making money, and buying a house are all great goals but they are only going to bring us so much fulfillment. Focusing on something bigger than ourselves is the thing that is going to propel us to achieve our goals and dreams and bring fulfillment, joy, and a spark to our lives.   It will also help us during hard times. We'll be able to put things in perspective, deal with challenges, and work through hardships. Kelly said, “When I'm having a really big challenge when I'm struggling, I really try to put things in perspective and remember the why and remember that picture because I know that will help me recharge and refocus and get my mindset back on track to keep moving forward.”   Life is really about something bigger than us. The whole purpose and meaning are about doing good and making the world a better place. That's where we'll find true fulfillment.    Thinking about the big picture can be easier than thinking about the small. When we think small, not only do we think small in our solutions, but it's also hard to get people excited and motivated. It takes just as much effort to do things small. Kelly said, “When you're solving small problems, you box yourself into small solutions. When you are solving the 10x problem, you're opening up your whole world, and you're paving a path for yourself to succeed at that next level.”   Key Takeaways   Thank you so much Kelly for sharing your stories and insights with us today. Here are some of my key takeaways from this episode:   It's never too late to find success. Success doesn't have to happen at a certain age. If we resent what we want to become, we will never become it. Don't be afraid of failure. As an entrepreneur, it is part of the job. We have to put in the hard work if we want success. We must see and conduct ourselves as leaders. We should be striving to learn about every aspect of our business, not just getting clients. We should invest in ourselves daily to help our business grow with us. Everything involves sales. We shouldn't try to avoid it. Discipline will get us to where we want to be in life. Focusing on something bigger will give us fulfillment and allow us to think of big solutions.   Connect with Kelly   If you want to learn more about Kelly or connect with her, you can find her on LinkedIn or visit her website at UnstoppableEntrepreneur.com.    Want to be a Better Digital Monetizer?   Please follow these channels to receive free digital monetization content:   Get a free Monetization Assessment of your business Subscribe to the free Monetization eMagazine. Kelly Ibarra is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in Sexual Addiction and complex partner betrayal trauma. Kelly is the author of Deeply Troubled Radically Forgiven: A memoir about rebuilding after complex sexual betrayal. She is also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and is trained in Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR (SAFE). In this week’s episode, Kelly talks about why she wrote her book and how she helps people who have been in her position of deep emotional hurt that was comfortable to tolerate.   TAKEAWAYS: [2:45] Why did Kelly write her book, Deeply Troubled Radically Forgiven? [4:25] Kelly, unfortunately, has had first-hand experience on what it’s like to love a partner that acts out. [7:00] When Kelly met her husband, he had been acting out for at least 20 years. [9:00] Kelly shares a little bit about her relationship with her husband and how she began to find out that he had an addiction. [13:00] When Kelly found out the extent of the addiction, her husband asked to ‘call her back because he was with friends’. The lack of attunement is very real for a lot of people with trauma. [14:35] It took years for Kelly’s husband to walk into a counselor's office. [15:55] Why did Kelly stay in the relationship for so long? [20:00] Because of Kelly’s own traumas, she was deeply attracted to her husband’s behaviors because they made sense to her. The more ‘stable’ guys were seen as a novelty and it scared her away. [22:55] How did Kelly recover from this? [25:35] What makes a partner heal from betrayal? [29:05] Partners in recovery are learning to dance for the very first time. [34:00] What are primary and secondary emotions? [37:45] How has this trauma affected Kelly’s children? [42:40] No matter how bad things really are, your children have to be the primary focus. [46:40] After a betrayal, how can you be intimate again?   RESOURCES:  The Porn Panic: Is Porn a ‘Public Health Crisis’? Kelly was very quick to announce that her weight loss had taken her over 10 years to achieve, this was a process of self-discovery that wasn't just about the number on the scales. Patience, determination, and resilience certainly did pay off. When Kelly had embarked on an intensive fitness regime over 10 weeks working out 6 days a week Kelly weighed only twice during this time and to Kelly's surprise while she was delighted that she had lost a dress size and 16 inches the scales only reduced by two pounds. This was a game-changer for Kelly who had been so focused on the scales that she now recognised that a combination of exercise and healthy eating would produce the results that she had been waiting for. At first glance, Kelly's life seems incredibly scary after losing two of her four kids to tragic accidents eleven years apart. You may even think that you wouldn't want to hear her tragic story, but to me and many others, Kelly is an absolute inspiration. I know that when others see Kelly, they must think, 'Wow! Look at Kelly. She's lost two kids and she can still smile. She can still help me. Maybe there is hope for me, too." Now, let me be clear. This is not how Kelly's grief journey started. In the first years after Alisha's death, she says that she kept to herself. She and her three young children tried going to grief therapy a few times, but felt like it was too difficult. Instead, she kept to herself, focusing on writing and raising her kids. She said that her family and friends often avoided talking about Alisha, because they didn't want to make each other sad. Although she was living with her husband and three children who were themselves grieving, she felt very alone in her grief. After several years though, she did learn to open up and heal. She found her faith strengthening once again. Not only did she attend grief support groups, she led one at her church. She worked to help every grieving person she met to let them know that they are never alone. God was a constant presence, and she was there to be God's hands and feet. When Kelly lost her oldest son, Jason, a couple of years later, as devastating and horrific as it was, she handled it in a much different way. The family didn't avoid talking about Jason. When someone wanted to share, they did. They mourned as a family. Kelly, specifically, allowed others outside of the family to bring her comfort by providing meals and doing errands. Kelly is quite honestly one of the most inspiring people I have met along my grief journey. I have found that I have been counting the days, weeks, and months without Andy over these past 2 1/2 years. I have felt myself feeling like I am getting further and further from him. I worry that over time I am forgetting little bits of him as time passes. Kelly reminds me that actually I am not leaving Andy behind. Andy has actually gone ahead of me and is waiting for me. Each day, in fact, is one day closer to being with him again. That can bring a little smile to my face as well. To learn more about Kelly and her writing, visit her website

During this episode of Vital Metabolic Podcast, hosts James Wheeler and John Parker speak with Kelly Manzone, who is an expert on training with kettlebells and clubs. Kelly talks about how she incorporates movement into her training, the importance of creativity, and how to get started with circular training.   Episode Highlights:  What inspired you to add kettlebells into your training? Kelly was the first to bring kettlebells into the New York Sports Club she was working at. Kelly battled infectious colitis for 3 years after a severe bout of food poisoning. Kelly sees kettlebells as a way to fill in the missing gaps. Accessory training doesn’t mean you have to lose your background, whatever that may be. How do you utilize these tools with your clients? Kelly uses different tools with different clients on a case-by-case basis. John mentions that training is not just about traditional approaches, there is an art behind it. How does working on stability vs mobility look in your training? Kelly is hypermobile, so she does feel like she works more on stability. When you are training with kettlebells, what are you thinking about? When Kelly is training for herself, she does it more intuitively, but she does have days where it is really structured. Kelly also talks about how she uses kettlebells with her clients and ways to be creative. Kelly likes to work on skill-based modalities with her clients. Kelly mentions that, with skill-based modalities, clients have to be trusted to practice on their own. They can’t only practice once or twice a week.  How do people get started with circular training? Remember that your body is a moving unit. People have always been moving, pulling, pressing, etc. long before it was formatted by an industry. Kelly is more active on her Instagram. Kelly feels that there is too much comparison within the industry, and that it’s completely fine for people to have different training styles. It’s important for trainers to understand their strengths/weaknesses and areas of expertise, and know when to refer to someone else. Do you have anything else to share?  Where can people find you?   3 Key Points: Kelly believes that creativity is a very important part of the training process. With skill-based modalities, you have to be willing to keep working on them at home. There does not need to be so much competition in the fitness industry.   Tweetable Quotes:  “Movement is its own language.” -Kelly Manzone “I’ve never been able to put myself in a box and describe exactly what I am. It’s because I’m constantly curious about what’s on the other side.” -Kelly Manzone “I train a lot of type-A personalities, and I want them to tap into feeling.” -Kelly Manzone   Resources Mentioned:  James’ Facebook Instagram Twitter John’s Facebook Instagram Twitter Kettlebell Gains Apparel code vital20 Kelly’s Facebook Instagram Website kelly@kmmoves.com https://www.indianclubsacademy.com/

This is episode #51, Welcome to the Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning podcast, my name is Andrea Samadi, I’m a former educator whose been fascinated with understanding the science behind high performance strategies in schools, sports and the workplace for the past 20 years. Each week we bring you an expert who has risen to the top of their industry with specific strategies that you can implement immediately, whether you are a teacher or student in the classroom, or working in the corporate world, to take your results to the next level. If you are like me, and love to learn, grow, challenge yourself and always are looking for that competitive edge, listen closely to the tips our next guest has to say, and write down the ones that you want to implement immediately. Watch the interview on YouTube here. Our guest today has been training my husband and I since we were dating back in 2006, and I can honestly say that I would never hire another trainer after working with him. He not only challenges our fitness and nutrition goals, but also wants to know what’s going on with our businesses and family life.  Let me tell you more about this incredible entrepreneur.Kelly Schmidt[i], is one of the leading personal training and fitness experts in Arizona, who has over 20 years of personal training and health development experience all over the world with his online and in person training programs. When Kelly graduated from high school, he was 115 pounds (which is hard to imagine knowing him today) but he says he felt that he was the little guy, which fueled his transformation that took him to 3rd place in his first professional body building show just 5 years ago (in 2015). He now coaches busy professionals all over the world in person at his gym in Glendale, AZ and with his online training programs to help people fit health and fitness into their lifestyle for long term, sustainable results.[ii] Welcome Kelly! Kelly, the minute I got the notification that all gyms were closing, I thought of you to help people at all different stages of health, with these strange times where we are quarantined inside our homes. You came to my mind immediately because you’ve been working all year with me on workouts, I can do at home so that I spend less time in the gym. I’ve been seeing posts from people all over the place asking questions about the best way to begin an exercise program. I do want to add the disclaimer, that for anyone at the beginning of their health and fitness journey, please do begin with consulting with your healthcare provider before trying anything new.Kelly, thanks, so much for being here today, and sharing your ideas and tips with us to help those who might be at the start of their fitness journey, to those looking for more challenge with a home workout because with you, that’s exactly what you’ll get.   The first question I have for you is on nutrition, which is such a wide topic. We all have different health goals (some people want to lose weight, others gain weight, add more muscle) what would you suggest are some best practices for ALL of us with our nutrition these days? I know that you taught us meal-prepping, and what we should be eating/not eating. Has anything you are doing changed? Is there any staple food that you used to buy that you can’t get these days? How has your nutrition stayed the same and how has it changed?I had a doctor years ago get me off sugar when he was researching the impact of sugar on our health and he wrote this book called Sugar Crush: How to Reduce Inflammation, Reverse Nerve Damage, and Reclaim Good Health.[iii] I had some health issues that went away 100% and ever since then, I’ve been wary of even fruits because he had me stop eating anything with sugar, and specifically high glycemic fruits. Do you stay away from any fruits and what do you put in your shakes? What impact do you see sugar having on you? What are macros? How can people figure out what’s the best combination for them or is even talking about macros over kill? I don’t want to stress people out, so how important do you think it is that people have an idea of the numbers that work best for them with the ratio of fats/proteins/carbs that they should be consuming? What about Celery Juicing. You started us on this practice a few years ago, since we are on our 2nd celery juicing machine.[iv] Then I started to follow this expert Anthony William who is @medicalmedium on Instagram and he’s been helping millions of people around the world for years with his book Celery Juice: The Powerful Medicine of our Time Healing Millions Worldwide.[v]  What benefits have you noticed with this?I’ve been learning from Dr. Daniel Amen on the best nutraceuticals to take to help improve my health and what sticks out to me is that he mentions that most people are deficient in Omega 3 fatty acids, so I force myself to take fish oil daily. What supplements do you take daily? Have you added more vitamin c lately?I know what cardio exercise you do daily because we share our activity through the activity app on our watches. I know that people can do this on their Fit Bit as well. Can you share what your daily workouts look like with what you do for cardio, and strength training and what would be 10 exercises that people could do at home that are just as impactful as using machines at the gym?Besides exercise, what are you doing for your mental health? How are you balancing your business and fitness goals? What does your daily schedule look like? Thanks so much Kelly for sharing your thoughts with us. I’m so grateful to have you as a friend, and for all you have done to help support our family, and for the business ideas you’ve shared. It was Kelly who suggested I record my podcasts on video and put them up on YouTube! Great idea, I really appreciate you. Kelly Walker completely changed her life from a video game junkie to become The Queen of Manifesting. She shares her journey and the lessons learned along the way on this week's episode of Stories of Hope in Hard Times. Kelly Walker: From Gamer to The Queen of ManifestingBioKelly Walker is a manifesting coach, international speaker, podcaster, and cruise retreat host. She is originally from Dallas, Texas and she spent her school years in Kansas. Now she lives in Spanish Fork, Utah with her husband and teenage son. She loves to help unlock the potential of women entrepreneurs who know they are meant for big things, but have been stuck playing small. She helps them tap into their purpose, take control of their inner chatter, build themselves in their tribe, and change the world on a bigger scale. Kelly Walker is The Queen of Manifesting. Hiding in the BathroomKelly decided she was going to be a motivational speaker after attending her first motivational seminar. Sitting in the audience, she realized that was what she needed to do. She was a graphic designer at the time but had just been fired, so she decided that speaking would be her new career. She went on the lookout for speaker training programs or anything that might help her on this new path. Every day, she said out loud, "I am a motivational speaker and I change lives from the stage." She had no idea how she would get there, but she believed she could. The Event & The BathroomDuring her search for training, she found an event on Facebook which was a cross between a TED talk and America's Got Talent. They have four contestants each month. The contestants speak for ten minutes to a panel of judges and then are given feedback. Kelly read this as free speaker coaching. So, she bought a ticket and went to watch. The judges were amazing and gave great feedback. When the judging was over, the MC stood up and told the audience that there was an open spot for a contestant next month. Kelly felt like this was her chance! She stood up and started walking over to sign up, even though she was scared. But she was so afraid she walked right past the table and toward the exit. She didn't even recall changing directions. As she was quickly walking away, she noticed a bathroom by the exit where she quickly went to hide. In the bathroom Kelly argued with herself about going to sign up. She sat there for at least ten minutes, trying to convince herself that she should sign up. Eventually, "brave Kelly" won and she went to find the MC and sign up. She asked if the spot was still open and when he said yes, she burst into tears of terror. But she did come back, and she won the contest! Kelly has spoken over 150 times since that contest. Years of Health ChallengesInfertility ChallengesLife wasn't always as easy as signing up for a contest and winning though. When Kelly was 38 years old, she struggled with fertility. She would leave church every Sunday because it was so hard for her to see other young moms with their babies. They tried fertility treatments but to no avail. Finally, Kelly quit her job and they went to Mexico, and she got pregnant! Kelly swears the lack of stress is what did it. Pregnancy ComplicationsHowever, the pregnancy itself was no less difficult. At 26 weeks, Kelly developed toxemia and had to go on bed rest. The doctors gave Kelly a steroid that helps the baby's lungs to develop faster because they were afraid they were going to have to deliver him early. Kelly remembers praying and praying that she wouldn't need to deliver her son yet. She stabilized and he ended up being able to stay put until week 38, with Kelly in the hospital on complete bed rest. AnxietyAs her son kept growing, Kelly felt claustrophobic and at one point she was having 24-hour panic attacks. Kelly was so anxious she doesn't know how her husband survived the last few months of the pregnancy. Neither she nor her husband got much due to the extreme anxiety. Everytime

When Kelly took a trip down to the beach a few days ago, she found she wasn’t able to unplug and relax as easily as she’d been able to previously. This led to a bit of tension and frustration, namely toward herself for not making the most of a restorative opportunity. But Kelly also knows firsthand that resentment—be it toward yourself or other people—really only serves to build up negative energy until you either lash out or burn out. Forgiveness, as difficult as it might seem, is key to exorcizing these thoughts and moving on with your life. If you’re a high-functioning Type A and find yourself overanalyzing and unable to let go of past transgressions then this episode is for you. In this episode, Kelly helps you understand how resentment—even of the most justified variety—really only serves to make you wallow in anger and toxicity. She lays out a variety of tools and strategies you can use to deal with these negative feelings in a healthier manner, and also describes some of her own experiences with resentment and how she was able to move on from them. The Finer Details of This Episode: - Learning to view regrets and resentment as the wastes of energy that they are and moving on from decisions you can’t unmake. - Kelly’s video game analogy for understanding personal progress. - How holding onto negative vibes out of a misplaced desire to seek justice can build up and act as “spiritual constipation.” - Why resenting other people is effectively giving them power over you—and they aren’t even aware of it! - Kelly relates her own struggle to forgive someone who had wronged her deeply. - If you want to know what Kelly’s personal mantra is for grappling with intense feelings of resentment, send her a direct message at http://www.instagram.com/kellythealth  - Don’t forget to schedule a quick chat with Kelly to learn more about her Ascend Mastermind at http://www.kellytravis.net/ascend! Michael Kelly from Limerick, Ireland, donated the biggest private collection of model aircraft to the Shannon Airport last September. The collection included 2,300 model aircraft that the 67-year-old retiree accumulated from all over the world for more than five decades. Kelly's collection contained items that are over 40 years old. It also featured some notable models like the Concorde and planes from Aer Lingus [air LING-guh s], Ireland's national airline. Kelly estimated that the money he spent on his collection amounted to more than half a million dollars. Although many foreign exhibitors expressed interest in his collection, Kelly chose to donate his aircraft models to the Shannon Airport, the place where his love of aviation began. When Kelly was young, his father took him to the Shannon Airport and Kelly witnessed some airplanes land and take off. Thus, giving his collection to the place where his obsession started allowed Kelly's passion for aircraft to come full circle. The Shannon Airport opened the exhibit of Kelly's collection during the latter part of September. About 1,500 of the models are permanently shown in the airport's Departures Lounge. Over time, the other aircraft models will be swapped in for the ones currently on display. According to the Shannon Group Board's chairperson, Rose Hynes, the exhibit exemplifies the airport's commitment to making its passengers happy. Moreover, Hynes believes that the display adds to the passengers' experience of having a good and easy time at the airport.

Kelly McDaniel is an expert on women and addiction. Her deep empathy in the field helps women find, develop and be okay with themselves despite the trauma that may have occurred in early attachment. Today, she speaks about her upcoming book “Mother Hunger”, the lasting patterns that emerge due to early trauma, and how Mother Hunger treatment is different that typical sex and love addiction treatment.   TAKEAWAYS: [1:04] Kelly McDaniel, LPC, NCC, CST, maintains a private practice in Nashville, where she specializes in the treatment of adults and couples. In addition, she is an EMDR trained therapist and member in the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH), and holds an education of an MA from Georgetown University and St. Mary’s University. [1:39] In 2008, Kelly’s first book “Ready to Heal” came out, written for women healing from addictive love and sex. The book kicked off that women needed gender-specific information in a culture that objectifies female bodies and women’s wisdom. [2:38] In 2012, the second edition was expanded to include a chapter on McDaniel’s original term “Mother Hunger.” Mother Hunger is a concept that has assisted both clinicians and clients to identify the origin of addictive relationships and foster the healing process. Currently, Kelly is offering two, three-day therapeutic Intensives for women who are exploring their relational patterns in depth. [5:31] Kelly finds her work resonates with both clinicians and the women that seek help. [7:02] Kelly defines “Mother Hunger” as a form of pre-verbal trauma that occurs in early attachment (5 weeks into conception in utero to age 3) that affects a woman’s belief system, physiology, psychology and relationship capacity. [8:37] A neglected child that is left hungry for connection, touch or love will turn to dissociation, or a freeze state, in order to protect and comfort themselves. [13:32] Our most basic idea of what a good partner would be is deeply affected when we are neglected or abused. When Kelly works with women in betrayal, it is a replay of the original wound and a map of where to go to heal. [17:22] The first ways we take in the world are through our mother’s love and some form of feeding and nourishment. These traumas are related to our most primitive stages of love, and continue to play romantically with both our current day lovers and support system or lack thereof. [20:46] Crisis is when your emotions and intellect is out of balance, and you are so invested emotionally in a situation that you are not thinking clearly. When those who have Mother Hunger get into a relationship, they get weighed down by the emotional need that comes up with the possibility of finally being loved. [21:37] Mother Hunger treatment is very different than standard sex and love addiction treatment. It is more related to the treatment in EMDR and somatic training, and sitting inside the grief for a longer intensive amount of time. [24:04] Women with Mother Hunger haven’t yet built a sense of identity, community or trust within themselves and others. [27:25] We profoundly underestimate postpartum depression and how that affect the ability to give love and nurturing. [29:39] The trauma forms before language, and is wired in to the body as the norm for what the world feels like. [31:30] Women with Mother Hunger transfer their attachment needs to men early on.   RESOURCES Sex and Relationship Healing @RobWeissMSW Sex Addiction 101 Cruise Control: Understanding Sex Addiction in Gay Men Prodependence: Moving Beyond Codependency Kelly McDaniel Ready to Heal: Breaking Free of Addictive Relationships Mother Hunger Partner Hope Dr. Kenneth Adams Christine Courtois   QUOTES: “There is a huge gap between I am safe and I feel safe that goes into adulthood.” “If your responsiveness from your most important caregiver is impaired from the start, then you don’t even have a sense of what normal or healthy is, because you have never experienced it.” “Our first love is our mother.” “Women gain strength from each other. Mitch, this is fun, man. I was looking forward to this all week, and I just came off a pretty stellar three days, and this is going to be a great time. I appreciate who you are. I love it. I mentioned the Front Row Foundation. Tell people a little bit why the Front Row is so important, this concept, why do you live and breathe to get people into the Front Row? What I love about your question is you asked why. We can tell people what we do, and they'll get it in 20 seconds. And I learned from my buddy Clay Iberra that when people ask me what I do, I often say I help people live life in the Front Row. And they say that's cool, what does that mean? Exactly, tell me more. Well, I'll tell you a story. It's the story of Sophie. I got introduced to Sophie about a decade ago, and this is very early on in our work with the charity. Sophie was battling a life-threatening condition, she had a brain tumor, and she was in the midst of heavy treatments. In and out of the hospital, daily, weekly, fighting migraines, multiple surgeries. She's fighting for her life. Our charity goes to work to try to help her see her favorite performer who in this case is Kelly Clarkson, from the front row. So we start working with the family, and we put together an incredible day. We pick her up at the house in a limousine, little Sophie's wearing a purple dress, we pour her sparkling cider, we treat her like a princess. She is just having an awesome time leading up to this event. She knows that she will eventually see Kelly Clarkson live that night. And by the way, I should mention she is a true fan. The way her mom describes it when she gets in the car with Sophie if she didn't turn on Kelly Clarkson, her daughter would just cry. When the Clarkson comes on, Sophie's smile always gets big. Every night before they went to bed, they had a dance party on the bed and danced to Kelly Clarkson. So on this night, she went to dinner at the Rainforest Café, and then off to the show. They had an incredible concert with Kelly, and the surprise came at the end when Sophie has fallen asleep, this is pretty late night for her, especially based on all the treatments that she was going through. But we snuck her backstage, and we were waiting in a room for a private meet and greet with Kelly. When Kelly walked into the room saying, "Hey, everybody," little Sophie awoke from this nap, looked up and got this beautiful smile, and Kelly and Sophie locked eyes. We have a picture of that moment. I will tell you, that picture is so important for us, and that's why we do what we do. Because eight weeks after that event, Sophie took her final breaths,

My fave moments from this conversation: Understanding our worthiness is there all along...it doesn't grow bigger or diminish and we don't need to try harder. In healing ourselves, we are able to help others heal. When Kelly felt that failing at being a mother felt like failing at being a women and how motherhood felt like just another thing to get an A+ on. The realization that Kelly couldn't change her autistic child but instead, she had to trust and love herself as fully as possible. Knowing when to pick your fights as a parent and perhaps wearing underwear isn't the most important fight to pick! Learning the lesson that when things are not as we expect them to be...is not necessarily a bad thing. And that's just the first 16 minutes or so... Meet Kelly Kelly Covert is an inner voice coach with a passion for helping visionary women believe and achieve their big vision by connecting deeply with the wisdom that is inside of them all while owning their worthiness each and every day. Kelly Airhart has lived through every parent’s nightmare, the death of her 3-month old baby, Elijah. In this interview we talked about how she’s dealing with grief. We also talk about her family’s educational journey, which they chose largely due to the intense sense of loss and grief the entire family has been through. The Intense Pain of Infant Death Kelly was out of the house when it happened. Her son Elijah was 3-months old. For all appearances, Elijah was a healthy baby boy. There were no signs of sickness or ill health. Yet, he died suddenly. The subsequent medical investigation turned up no signs of suffocation. Thus, his death was ruled  a case of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). These cases are heart wrenching. There is no indication, no explanation, only a beautiful young life snuffed out when it was just beginning. When Kelly returned home, she saw her husband trying to revive Elijah. When I asked her later in the interview if she would change anything about her grieving process, Kelly shared that she still thinks about the fact that she was away when it happened. The Grieving Process and The Family’s Response Kelly doesn’t sugarcoat it or hide behind a veil of false positivity. Elijah passed away two and a half years before Kelly and I spoke, and she’s honest about the fact that she’s still dealing with the grief, because, as she says, “I have to wake up every morning knowing I’ll never see Elijah again.” She doesn’t put on a face of false positivity, but at the same time Kelly isn’t filled with doom and gloom either. She sees the mysterious way in which Elijah’s passing has been a blessing for her family and the world. For one, they decided immediately what was most important. They came closer together and prioritized each other. They committed to deepening their love for each other and act it out every day. They also commit one act of kindness in Elijah’s name every day. It’s their family’s belief that kindness has a ripple effect and even if it starts out small will eventually create a much larger effect on the world. Another change they made was to live life entirely on their own terms. This has meant several different things. For one, her husband decided to go after his dream of becoming an MMA fighter. He began training intensely and has had two amateur fights. Kelly also left her work, because during the grieving process she knew that she needed to be with her family. The same can be said of their decision to home educate. They were in a Montessori school before Elijah’s passing, and when the next school year came around they decided not to re-enter school because the kids, too, needed more family time while grieving. These life changes allowed them to take the mission deeper. She became an author and illustrator and has published two books. More on that below.Their Mission Elijah’s death was tragic. No two people grieve in the same way, but for Kelly and family, an important part of their grief and recovery has been to ensure that Elijah did not die in vain. They created Elijah’s Family Changes The World as a vehicle to spread kindness one act at a time. Which brings us to the topic of Kelly’s book titled Elijah Loses His Smile. The main character of the book is Elijah. He loses his smile due to other kids’ teasing. And the rest of the story is about him getting his smile back. His parents get him an ice cream, which helps, but on a deeper level they teach him about self-acceptance and kindness. These are the main values Kelly is seeking to spread through her book and her mission. The book is already published, which is the hard part for most independent authors. Now, her task is to spread the word about her book to get the message out. Which is why she’s launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the promotional efforts. Their plan is to take their converted school bus and travel around on a book tour, mostly to libraries, spreading their message of self-acceptance and kindness. I don’t know about you, but to me that sounds like the ultimate unschooling experience for her kids. Bonus episodes of TOTALLY UNEDITED, UNFILTERED content where a panicked Kelly is forbidden from deleting inappropriate comments from Richard are all in this. What might he say? You'll have to find out. If the plan intended absolutely sucked - thoughts and abuse or even praise are all welcome. Comments would be MUCH appreciated.

Kelly Roach could not find an all encompassing program that included support, information, strategy, technique and coaching that she needed to grow her business. She decided to design a program that focused on all of her frustrations and developed a 52 week program that helps entrepreneurs design the right strategies, actions steps and key things to build their business and create a foundation to scale their business to a 6 or 7 figure company! Kelly Roach knows that the truth is you need to invest at least a year to lay the foundation for sustainable success.  Kelly makes sure her clients are trained in all the key aspects of a successful business. She made other people success by teaching the skills necessary for that success. Kelly Roach decided she could take the skills of coaching and teaching she had perfected over 10 years in corporate America to make their employees successful she could do it for entrepreneurs. She felt that entrepreneurs needed her and the skill set she could provide. Leaving Corporate America Kelly Roach had achieved all of the goals she had set out to achieve. She was at the top of her game and Sr. Vice President yet her heart was not full. She felt like the higher she was promoted the less freedom she would have the less difference she would make upon individuals. Kelly roach decided to leave her corporate job to build her own business to achieve the freedom and income she desired. Kelly Roach's Book "Unstoppable" Kelly Roach's book Unstoppable is the road map to grow their business. Her new book provides the same step by step instructions as her coaching program designed for those that don't have the money toinvest in coaching but they can afford a $15 book. It's a book someone can hold in their hands and pass on to someone else and say hey here's something I wish I had known 10 or 15 years ago and encourage someone else to use the book's information. Kelly knew she had a book in her for several years. Kelly Roach came from a family that struggled with money and worked 3 jobs through college. She wanted to write a book to pass on her message that everyday people can be successful no matter where they start from. Kelly Roach says anyone can be successful if they just get in the game and take action every day.
