In the final hour of the show, Tobin & Leroy talk Hurricanes football as the U head to Tallahassee to take on Seminoles. Canes fans seem to be happy to have Carson Beck as their QB and are looking forward to beating their in-state-rivals. Tobin is upset with ESPN for their lack of respect for the Florida Panthers while promoting the NHL regular season opener next week. Finally, we hear from Heat forward Keldon Johnson during Heat media day this week.
In the third hour, Tobin & Leroy talk Heat basketball as they signed forward Nikola Jovich to a 4 year extension, What will his role be now that his locked up for the next 5 years? How will the Heat offense upgrade from the putrid display we have seen over the last two years? Tobin & Leroy wonder what happened to the Dolphins defense especially the front 7 which was suppose to be the strength of the team> Finally, We play "Goosies or No Goosies" where we hear comments from the sports world and we say it gives us good vibes (Goosie) or bad vibes ( No Goosies).
Queen City Confession Thursday 10/02/25
We have been saying for some time that this game against the Bruins would be very telling in what to expect from this Northwestern squad this year. While the Cats did play a clean game and many players looked great, there were some major concerns in the strategy and game plan philosophy that we had to get into.
Big news coming out of Cleveland they decide to bench Joe Flaco for rookie QB Dillon Gabriel. How did Aaron Rodgers get himself in the perfect position to win the division? The Cats are back in less than a week! What are they going to look like without Barkov and will they bring him back? Vic Fangio claims that they are doing things to the kicking balls, wasn't there once an old coach to accuse someone of putting helium in his balls. Then we get in our Mixed bag and Erik Spoelstra wants the New Yorkers gone! Napheesa Collier shakes up the WNBA with her exit interview comments about the league commissioner.
It's HUMP DAY and the guys kick things off with America's favorite pastime as the Wildcard gets underway. Tobin shamefully admits he loves him some Mormon Housewives content, and the gang debates whether FSU should be upset about having a Friday game ahead of the big matchup against Miami. Have we watered down the art of rushing the field? Plus, we're thrilled to report that weather reports are officially back at the Windowplex with Leroy. Big news out of Cleveland — the Browns decide to bench Joe Flacco in favor of rookie QB Dillon Gabriel. Meanwhile, how did Aaron Rodgers manage to put himself in the perfect position to win the division? The Cats are back in less than a week — what are they going to look like without Barkov, and will they bring him back in time? Vick Fangio stirs controversy by claiming something's going on with the kicking balls, and the crew remembers the legendary coach who once accused someone of putting helium in the footballs. In our Mixed Bag segment, Erik Spoelstra says he wants the New Yorkers gone, and Napheesa Collier shakes up the WNBA with some blunt exit interview comments about the league commissioner. From Boca Heat training camp, the guys react to news that Terry Rozier is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Barkov is out here hobnobbing with the Heatles. Tobin and Leroy dive into Tyreek Hill's injury and what they expect from Jaylen Waddle in his absence. Spoelstra reveals that Barkov told him he'll only be out 4–5 months — interesting. Then it's time for our favorite Wednesday game: Rats Off a Ship! Is LeBron stirring up drama again? And Tobin gets annoyed that the rest of the crew's rats seem to be on the fence about the Canes blowing out Florida State. News also hits that the Miami Dolphins have officially cut former second-round pick Cam Smith, and the gang reacts to Mike McDaniel's comments on the move. Tobin issues a Minus 1 to the Angels' social team after they post a graphic announcing they're not bringing back Ron Washington — but it looked like he had passed away. We go through the early slate of Wildcard games and give some final thoughts on the Cam Smith decision. Plus, we replay our interview with Bam Adebayo — he gets into not winning DPOY, his frustration, the team's mentality, last season, and what he expects this year. He gives praise to Norman Powell (but not too much), and shares insight on his relationship with Kel'el Ware.

We've got a three-peat favorite back on the mic—Dr. Karl Jandrey, DVM, DACVECC, emergency & critical care specialist at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. In this “Ask the Vet” deep dive, Dr. Jandrey breaks down how heart disease shows up in pets, what to watch for at home, and what your vet does first in the ER.You'll learn the stealth early signs in dogs (like true exercise intolerance vs. stubbornness), when coughing and increased breathing effort mean “go now,” and why small breeds often face mitral valve disease while large breeds are at risk for dilated cardiomyopathy (including the grain-free/taurine connection). We also cover arrhythmias (like AFib) and dramatic collapses, the core ER toolkit (oxygen, ultrasound, diuretics), and practical home monitoring (why ≤30 breaths/min at rest matters). For cats, Dr. Jandrey explains hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM)—why it's so hard to spot, the realities of sudden distress or clots (ATE), and what treatment and prognosis can look like. Plus: a quick detour into exciting oncology advances (hello, Lola the Golden Retriever!) and a feel-good moment with Dr. Jandrey's lab, Danson, a veteran blood donor.Send us your questions for a future Ask the Vet!Highlights / What You'll Learn:- Early, often-missed signs of cardiac disease in dogs- Mitral valve disease vs. dilated cardiomyopathy—who's at risk and why- ER playbook: oxygen, Lasix (furosemide), rhythm control, point-of-care ultrasound- Home check: how to count resting respiratory rate and what numbers matter- Cats & HCM: silent disease, clots, emergency steps, and tough decisions- Meds 101: pimobendan, digoxin, diuretics—where they fit- Diet note: taurine and the grain-free discussionWe also briefly discuss:pet heart disease, dog coughing heart, resting respiratory rate dog, dilated cardiomyopathy dogs, mitral valve disease small dogs, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy cats, cat blood clot back legs, veterinary ER, pimobendan for dogs, taurine deficiency grain-freehttps://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/faculty/karl-e-jandrey--What started during the COVID-19 lockdown with one baby gorilla at the Cleveland Zoo has grown into a channel loved by animal fans around the world. Tune in here to this Wednesday's edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen! Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about the explosive findings from the North Carolina State Auditor’s report on CATS security and the growing legal trouble for the City of Charlotte. He highlights concerns over a costly security contract that now provides fewer armed guards, sparking backlash and a delayed city press conference. Brett also breaks exclusive news about a federal lawsuit filed by CMPD officer and FOP President Daniel Redford, who claims his constitutional rights were violated after speaking out on social media. Jensen is joined by North Carolina State Fire Marshal Brian Taylor for an exclusive one-on-one interview to discuss the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina and the emergency response efforts that followed. Taylor recounts the unprecedented challenges faced during the storm, including widespread landslides, failed communications, and the tragic loss of a firefighter. He details how emergency crews pre-deployed resources, but were caught off guard by the intensity of the disaster. Taylor shares how he coordinated with private partners, including Operation Hilo and Elon Musk’s Starlink, to restore communication and deliver vital supplies to remote communities. "We are a unique charity, very innovative in this space. What you're really doing is you're inviting people to touch your mission. The number one reason anyone gives to any charity or any cause is to fulfill something within themselves, within their own heart." This episode is sponsored-in-part by Maddie's Fund. In this financial innovation episode, host Stacy LeBaron speaks with Adam Spencer, founder of Furlanthropy, the first charity-owned and operated crowdfunding platform exclusively for animal-related causes. Adam's journey began with his beloved rescue cat Kobe, who lived over 20 years and provided profound emotional support during difficult times. When Adam and his wife later rescued a pet whose original owners had surrendered her due to inability to afford life-saving care, it opened his eyes to the tremendous financial barriers preventing pet parents from accessing veterinary care. As a certified fundraising executive (CFRE), Adam was surprised that no nonprofit crowdfunding platform existed specifically for animal welfare needs. Adam explains how Furlanthropy's nonprofit status provides donor protections unavailable on for-profit platforms like GoFundMe. The platform verifies every campaign and sends funds directly to veterinary hospitals rather than fundraisers, ensuring money reaches its intended destination. With 90 cents of every dollar going directly to campaigns and the remaining 10% supporting administrative costs and underfunded campaigns, Furlanthropy offers transparency that allows donors to research executive compensation through IRS 990 forms. The platform supports immediate campaign creation without waiting periods, accommodates various donation methods including stock gifts and donor-advised funds, and can reimburse past expenses to alleviate financial burdens. The conversation explores fundraising strategy for small grassroots TNR organizations, addressing the common perception that spay/neuter is harder to fundraise for than kitten adoptions. Adam emphasizes that donors give primarily to fulfill something within themselves, often in tribute to their own beloved pets, making prevention-focused campaigns viable when the story connects emotionally. His advice centers on inviting people to become ambassadors for missions they care about, recognizing that not everyone can give financially but everyone can share stories and expand reach through their networks. Press play now for: How Kobe the rescue cat's emotional support inspired a platform serving all animals in need The donor protection advantages of nonprofit vs. for-profit crowdfunding platforms Direct payment to veterinary hospitals ensuring funds reach intended recipients 90/10 fee structure with transparency allowing donor research of executive compensation Immediate campaign launch capability without approval delays or waiting periods Support for past, current, and future expenses to alleviate caregiver financial burdens Stock gifts, donor-advised funds, and multiple donation methods for sophisticated giving PetSmart Charities $200,000+ grant validation and upcoming partnership announcements Strategic fundraising advice for small TNR organizations and grassroots groups Why prevention-focused campaigns succeed when stories connect with donor hearts Ambassador model allowing supporters to create campaigns for causes they care about The power of multiple smaller gifts vs. single large donations for building supporter base Resources mentioned: Furlanthropy website (https://furlanthropy.org/) Furlanthropy Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/furlanthropycharity/) Furlanthropy Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/furlanthropycharity/) Furlanthropy Twitter/X (https://twitter.com/Furlanthropy1) Furlanthropy LinkedIn (https://linkedin.com/company/furlanthropy/) Email contact: paws@furlanthropy.org Phone: (434) 207-2790 PetSmart Charities (https://petsmartcharities.org/) Forever Legacy Society for planned giving (https://furlanthropy.org/ways-to-give/furever-legacy-society/) GuideStar nonprofit profile (https://www.guidestar.org/profile/87-4346748) Sponsor Links: Maddie's Fund (https://www.communitycatspodcast.com/maddies632) Follow & Review We'd love for you to follow us if you haven't yet. What if America's wilderness hides a predator science won't acknowledge? In this episode of Dark Outdoors®, author Michael Mayes—known for his work Shadow Cats—joins us to dig into the controversial and chilling reports of black panthers roaming across the U.S. For decades, eyewitnesses from Texas to the Appalachians have sworn they've seen something impossible: massive black panthers prowling the woods, stalking farmlands, and vanishing into the shadows. Yet, mainstream science insists such creatures don't exist in North America. In this thought-provoking episode of Dark Outdoors, we sit down with author and researcher Michael Mayes to explore the mystery at the heart of his book Shadow Cats. Together, we examine chilling accounts, folklore, and the deep cultural roots of black panther sightings. Are these elusive predators a product of myth, mass misidentification, or could there be something truly hidden in America's wild places? Expect a conversation that pushes beyond campfire tales—diving into history, biology, and the unsettling implications of predators that may walk unseen. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, this is one episode that will make you think twice the next time you walk into the woods after dark. Are they black mountain lions - black cougars? Are they black jaguars? Are they jaguarundi? Are they escaped exotics? What about the mysterious black longtail? Take a deep dive on black panthers with us.

Fashion goes saffron bathrobes and octopus-alien costumes, music runs from Aretha Franklin's gospel to Quincy Jones' orchestral genius, and film picks span Dead Poets Society to Free Willy.Myth-wise, Indra learns the hard way what happens when you snub your teacher, as Bṛhaspati walks out and the devas lose their divine shield. It's a story of humility, wisdom, and the radiant power of exalted Jupiter—our collective reminder to bow to what truly nourishes.Support the show

Welcome to Season 3 — I'm thrilled you're along for the ride. My mission hasn't changed: I still want to make “Cats on the Cradle” just a song, not anyone's life story. What is shifting is the toolbox. I've been a tech geek since I wrote my first program in 1980, and now AI is a giant new lever. I'm obsessed with systems because they keep us honest and sane, and one of our Core Values — purpose — anchors everything we do. This season I'll show you how to use AI without losing your soul. Here's the honest pitch: when AI gives you back 10 hours, the point isn't to cram more tasks into your calendar — it's to live. Use that time for self-care, for a real conversation with your kids, or for that hobby that reminds you who you are outside the grind. I'll walk you through practical systems that let AI be a servant, not a tyrant. Expect real strategies, a few laughs, and tangible steps to make technology serve your life, not the other way around.- AI is a tool to reclaim time, not to multiply busywork.- Build systems so your actions reflect your purpose.- Use regained hours for family, rest, and meaningful work.- Start small: experiments beat perfection when learning AI.- Let AI handle tasks; you handle relationships and judgment.- Measure results, then scale what actually moves your life forward.- Keep humanity first while you level up with technology.#LifeBalance #PurposeDriven #ThirdPower #AI #Productivity #FamilyFirst #SystemsThinkingIf you want a clear roadmap, grab my AI Ascension Guide — it walks you up the four levels: Explorer (safe first experiments), Assistant (AI as your smart intern), Agent (delegate multi-step workflows), and Commander (orchestrate an AI ecosystem). Start the guide here: https://www.thirdpowerlife.ai/ai-ascension-guide — let's get you more time, more impact, and more soul.
CATS increases light rail security; Stuart has a consumer warning
Patrick Mahomes was as great as he ever was Sunday as Xavier Worthy returned to action. The Chiefs never looked better. Now, the Ravens defense may give the Cowboys a run for worst in the NFL but that doesn't matter right now. The Chiefs have erased their 0-2 start with a pair of season saving wins and may have just flipped the bird to the world that had them dead and buried. Lamar Jackson turned it over twice and wound up on the bench with a hammy strain, I'd say the defense did its job brilliantly. Meanwhile, the Chargers lose and KC is now only one back in the division. We recap a wild college football Saturday that saw Kansas State completely change its offensive scheme in an easy win over UCF. KU is so easy to watch and Jalon Daniels was brilliant but Cincinnati took advantage of a KU defense that's acting like it wants to be the worst in the Big 12. Beau Pribula sets a record in Columbia for the Tigers in a win over UMASS. The Ryder Cup turned into a crap show this weekend, boy do I have some grievances. Chase Elliott wins a double overtime thriller at Kansas Speedway and I"m here to save you some money today if you'd like a cup of coffee.

The Rush Hour Melbourne Catch Up - 105.1 Triple M Melbourne - James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless
It's a very flat Billy Brownless who kicks off the show with his All Sports Report - but as much as he tries to avoid it, we eventually get around to discussing the Grand Final. Attention turns to Billy's Grand Final weekend and what he got up to, then Triple M Footy caller and newsbreaker Theo Doropoulos phones in as attention turns to the AFL Trade Period. We want you to pump yourself up with Monday Brag Artist, and Billy has his top 5 moments from Grand Final Day, plus a look back at Triple M Fest and his interview with 'Snoop Dogg'. Tom Rockliff calls in to celebrate Brisbane's premiership, we take you behind the curtain of how we prepared for both a Cats loss and a Cats win, then JB takes over Billy's Joke - and you shouldn't need many guesses to work out what the topic is.
