Zeit in New York gibt.

This was a fun conversation and touches on an asset class that hasn't been discussed much on this program.  As always, nothing is investment advice and do your own due diligence!  Jillian's credentials are as follows: Mrs. Murrish is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pier Asset Management. Prior to founding Pier, she was Executive Vice President of Capital Markets at Patch of Land where she built one of the first institutional whole loan sale programs in the real estate marketplace lending industry, secured $750M in loan purchase commitments, managed the firm's warehouse funding, and lead equity capitalization efforts. Prior to her time in marketplace lending, Mrs. Murrish worked with technology clients in the Capital Markets group at a leading middle market investment bank, Houlihan Lokey. She has completed the Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, and Series 79 examinations. She is a graduate of the Loyola Marymount University Honors Program and has a B.S. in Accounting and a B.B.A. in Finance. Your Parenting Mojo - Respectful, research-based parenting ideas to help kids thrive

Do we really know what implicit bias is, and whether we have it? This is the second episode on our two-part series on implicit bias; the first part was an https://yourparentingmojo.com/captivate-podcast/implicitbias/ (interview with Dr. Mahzarin Banaji), former Dean of the Department of Psychology at Harvard University, and co-creator of the Implicit Association Test. But the body of research on this topic is large and quite complicated, and I couldn't possibly do it justice in one episode. There are a number of criticisms of the test which are worth examining, so we can get a better sense for whether implicit bias is really something we should be spending our time thinking about - or if our problems with explicit bias are big enough that we would do better to focus there first. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.11.11.378554v1?rss=1 Authors: Gu, A., Cho, H. J., Sheffield, N. C. Abstract: Results of functional genomics experiments such as ChIP-Seq or ATAC-Seq produce data summarized as a region set. Many tools have been developed to analyze region sets, including computing similarity metrics to compare them. However, there is no way to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of region set similarity metrics. In this paper we present *bedshift*, a command-line tool and Python API to generate new BED files by making random perturbations to an original BED file. Perturbed files have known similarity to the original file and are therefore useful to benchmark similarity metrics. To demonstrate, we used bedshift to create an evaluation dataset of 3,600 perturbed files generated by shifting, adding, and dropping regions from a reference BED file. Then, we compared four similarity metrics: Jaccard score, coverage score, Euclidean distance, and cosine similarity. The results show that the Jaccard score is most sensitive to detecting adding and dropping regions, while the coverage score is more sensitive to shifted regions. ABOUT THIS EPISODE Implicit bias has been studied by many social psychologists, and one particular measure, the Implicit Association Test (or IAT) has often been used in that research. It has also been used by practitioners, often for purposes of raising participants' awareness of their own biases. And millions have completed IAT's online at the Project Implicit website. In this episode, I continue a discussion with six people who have all thought about the IAT, with the conversation covering such topics as (a) how well the IAT predicts discriminatory behavior and other behavior, (b) whether it's appropriate for the Project Implicit website to give individualized feedback to visitors who complete online IAT's there, and (c) the content and effectiveness of implicit bias training. My guests are psychologists Calvin Lai, Brian Nosek, Mike Olson, Keith Payne, and Simine Vazire, as well as journalist Jesse Singal. LINKS --Interpreting correlation coefficients (by Deborah J. The Golden Rule, first launched in 1958 by a former U.S. Navy lieutenant commander and Quaker, with a mission to stop atmospheric nuclear testing, has only been recently restored after it fell into disrepair and sank in 2010. The vessel, slightly over 30 feet in length, is back in action  plying waters as a peace boat--but not after an improbable resurrection. This summer, the vessel is touring the Pacific Northwest. One of its stops was the City Dock on Bainbridge Island, July 15 and 16. It plans to participate in Fleet Week in Seattle in August. Helen Jaccard, who helped crew the vessel last year and is providing shore support this year, spoke with BCB’s Reed Price about the history, relaunch, and modern mission of the boat. Gravou um CD (Jô Soares e o Sexteto), com On The Sunny Side of the Street, St. James Infermary e One Meat Ball. Estréia neste ano, ainda no SBT, o talk -show “Jô Soares Onze e Meia” 1988-1999. Over the past 10 years, biclustering has become popular not only in the field of biological data analysis but also in other applications with high-dimensional two way datasets. This technique clusters both rows and columns simultaneously, as opposed to clustering only rows or only columns. Biclustering retrieves subgroups of objects that are similar in one subgroup of variables and different in the remaining variables. This dissertation focuses on improving and advancing biclustering methods. Since most existing methods are extremely sensitive to variations in parameters and data, we developed an ensemble method to overcome these limitations. It is possible to retrieve more stable and reliable bicluster in two ways: either by running algorithms with different parameter settings or by running them on sub- or bootstrap samples of the data and combining the results. To this end, we designed a software package containing a collection of bicluster algorithms for different clustering tasks and data scales, developed several new ways of visualizing bicluster solutions, and adapted traditional cluster validation indices (e.g. Jaccard index) for validating the bicluster framework. Finally, we applied biclustering to marketing data. Well-established algorithms were adjusted to slightly different data situations, and a new method specially adapted to ordinal data was developed. In order to test this method on artificial data, we generated correlated original random values. This dissertation introduces two methods for generating such values given a probability vector and a correlation structure. All the methods outlined in this dissertation are freely available in the R packages biclust and orddata. Numerous examples in this work illustrate how to use the methods and software.
