This week Tom & Zeus review the newly released live album from KISS, "KISS Destroys Anaheim '76." KISS' concert at Anaheim Stadium on August 20, 1976 is legendary. This was a highly sought after bootleg, so when it was announced that this concert would get an "official" release, it was highly anticipated. The album features the original four members on the Destroyer tour in all their glory. Once again the legendary Eddie Kramer was brought in to produce this live album. Did they album live up to the hype? How does it sound? How was the packaging of the album? Were the guys able to be positive about the album? Sounds like everybody should immediately quit their jobs, right?Well, maybe hang onto that health insurance.The show crunches another number: out of roughly 5 million registered creator accounts, only 5,076 have earned more than $1 million on the platform. Suddenly the “easy money” plan starts looking suspiciously like every other entertainment career.Naturally, this becomes a discussion about celebrity OnlyFans accounts, what exactly people are paying for, whether there's a male market for the platform, and the apparently untapped economic potential of vacuuming your house without a shirt on.Business school, but worse.Then the funny podcast nostalgia machine kicks into gear as Riz asks everybody to remember the websites and apps from the early days of the internet.MySpace. Napster. GeoCities. eBaum's World. ICQ. Strong Bad. Fark. The Chive. Chatroulette.Especially Chatroulette.Rafe perfectly describes the difference between Russian roulette and Chatroulette: Russian roulette gives you one bad chamber out of six. When Neil Peart died in early 2020, we figured we'd never be able to see Rush live again. And to a Rush fan like The Wolf who had seen them 12 times, met them backstage and had every album they ever released, it was a bummer. Not only would he never see one of his favorite bands again but he'd never be able to take The Wolfcub (whose seen KISS 3x, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Yes and many more of The Wolf's faves) to see the spectacle of Rush live, nor could he see them again with Action Jackson. Action and The Wolf camped out on the sidewalk to get tickets for the Roll The Bones tour and wanted to be able to do a live show review on their podcast which launched in 2019. So when out of the blue, Geddy and Alex announced their first tour in over a decade, the boys knew this was their chance to right all the wrongs and make sure they didn't miss the opportunity to see their Canadian heroes again. And the fact that Anika Nilles was taking over the drums, someone The Wolf raved about on episode 90 on the boys Jeff Beck & Johnny Depp live review just made the announcement that much more exciting. Hear the boys as they gear up for the show at The United Center in Chicago on July 18. Hear them compare setlists from previous shows, each night of the 4 night stand, what they're most looking forward to and why the band means so much to them. When Neil Peart died in early 2020, we figured we'd never be able to see Rush live again. And to a Rush fan like The Wolf who had seen them 12 times, met them backstage and had every album they ever released, it was a bummer. Not only would he never see one of his favorite bands again but he'd never be able to take The Wolfcub (whose seen KISS 3x, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Yes and many more of The Wolf's faves) to see the spectacle of Rush live, nor could he see them again with Action Jackson. Action and The Wolf camped out on the sidewalk to get tickets for the Roll The Bones tour and wanted to be able to do a live show review on their podcast which launched in 2019. So when out of the blue, Geddy and Alex announced their first tour in over a decade, the boys knew this was their chance to right all the wrongs and make sure they didn't miss the opportunity to see their Canadian heroes again. And the fact that Anika Nilles was taking over the drums, someone The Wolf raved about on episode 90 on the boys Jeff Beck & Johnny Depp live review just made the announcement that much more exciting. Hear the boys as they gear up for the show at The United Center in Chicago on July 18. Hear them compare setlists from previous shows, each night of the 4 night stand, what they're most looking forward to and why the band means so much to them. As a heads up, when they recorded this before the show on July 18, Rush had performed fewer shows and we held onto the review of the concert for our 300th episode next week.
