When we're young and we have arguments with our parents, things usually start to escalate when both parties start to yell at each other. In today's message, Pastor Bill says that though we can be firm with the Gospel, we must also show love towards those who need it. When you fight violence with love, all guards go down. Next time you're trying to share the gospel, ask yourself what Jesus would do. I assure you, Jesus would show compassion to those who are hurting to bring them closer to Him.

In superhero movies, the hero is usually useless until he gets powers, then he's able to save the world from doom. In today's message, Pastor Bill says you have powers if you have the Holy Spirit in you. God has given you the Holy Spirit so you can be a hero for. His kingdom. He's entrusted you with this gift so you can go out and share the gospel with those around you. Be confident in who you are in Christ! You have everything you need to fight the enemy's lies and change lives for God's kingdom.

In this week's show, Lian is joined by Karl Brooks, a long-term Be Mythical student and a much-loved member of our community within UNIO, whose journey from crisis to reclamation has been one of the most beautiful we've had the honour to witness. Karl has a deep connection with his inner child, who unbeknownst to him had been running most of his life behind the scenes, in his subconscious! When he began to make the unconscious, conscious, and start asking what his inner child wanted - to feel safe, see, held, respected, loved, all from an unconditional place, he found he held the key too, and no one else could fulfil the void that was ‘Karl-shaped'. He now wants to lead other men that are interested in connecting deeply within themselves, and breaking the patterns of childhood that are still causing havoc in their lives today. In this conversation, Lian and Karl explore the hidden stories that shape our sense of self, and the deep healing that becomes possible when we finally listen to the boy inside the man. Together, they journey through Karl's childhood adventures, his breakdown and awakening, and the tender work of inner reparenting that allowed him to become a man of depth, devotion, and strength. Through rich storytelling and honest reflection, this conversation reveals the generational threads that shape our beliefs about masculinity, love, and identity… and how those threads can be rewoven. Mythic threads weave through the episode: the wounded boy whose gifts were misunderstood, the ruptures passed from father to son, and the healing that happens when those wounds are no longer hidden. This is a conversation for anyone - man or woman - who senses that something essential got lost along the way… and is ready to listen for its return. We'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment wherever you are listening or in any of our other spaces to engage. What you'll learn from this episode: Childhood experiences create the inner myths we unconsciously live by, until a rupture or opening invites us to rewrite them. Imagination, when turned inward upon ourselves, can distort our self-perception… or become a tool for healing and reconnection. Healing the inner child allows us to close the ruptures of the past, creating more wholeness in our relationships, our parenting, and our sense of self. Resources and stuff spoken about: Join Karl on Instagram Join UNIO, the Academy of the Soul. The Summer of Superheroes continues as we look at Ivan Reitman's 2006 superpowered rom com My Super Ex-Girlfriend, starring Luke Wilson, Uma Thurman, and Anna Faris! Join in as we discuss secret identities, the official hierarchy of hair colors, the movie's abysmal gender politics, and the best way to remove a splinter. Plus: How long has G-Girl been active? Can anyone at this architecture firm speak Mandarin? Does Emma Frost secretly wear crocs? And is this movie somehow pro-sexual harassment? Make sure to rate, review, and subscribe! This week on Bronze and Modern Gods:
The ‘mystical pregnancy' trope is a bit of an overused one in genre fiction and Star Trek visits that well so many times we had options for which ones to highlight here. The episode you all knew was coming is Star Trek: The Next Generation's “The Child” where Troi gets pregnant with a cosmic entity. We also see puppies and the Enterprise dealing with a horrendous disease as a B plot.Star Trek: Voyager had so many episodes for this trope, but we picked “Elogium” where Kes' body accidentally jumpstarts its mating process in some of the most grotesque ways possible. Oh, and Neelix wants everyone to know he was a bad boy before he met Kes.Finally Enterprise's “Unexpected” has Trip head over to a freaky alien ship where he helps with their engines but gets mpregged in the process. You dirty dog, Trip! 00:03:41 What Non-Star Trek Thing We've Been Enjoying: Jaws and Exorcist novelisations, Super Mario Kart World (and not having a summer cold)00:13:08 Star Trek: The Next Generation “The Child”00:40:34 Star Trek: Voyager “Elogium”01:12:11 Enterprise “Unexpected”And stick around to the end for a horrifying bonus feature!Pedants Corner:The ‘modern' V is from 2009, so it's 16 years old“A New Start” from Degrassi High was actually in 1989 and while it did air, they had to remove the characters fighting their way through anti-abortion picketersJarvis Cocker took the piss out of Michael Jackson in 1996, one year after ElogiumTalking points include: Donna Troy's Zombie Baby, Prometheus, V (old and new versions), Legion of Super-Heroes, Super Mario Kart World, GoldenEye, do NOT ask about Avengers issue 200, weird X-Men pregnancies, Charlie's top tip for karaoke, PUPPIES!, Ian & Barbara, the crew as Wesley's parents, Degrassi's abortion storyline, Space: 1999, Charlie brings back that old ZX Spectrum/Commodore 64 rivalry, 1995 Michael Jackson is a rough sight, Michelle Pfieffer, Star Wars Episode One, Red Dwarf, “The Writer's Barely Disguised Fetish”, Barbarella, Legz Akimbo, Prometheus, Battlestar Galactica (the new one), Attractive Doctors Who, Dune, mpreg, whether Chris Claremont has ever done an mpreg (he hasn't), Quasar, Farscape, Quantum Leap, Chat Out of Hell, . In this powerful message from Pastor Mark Rempel at 2911 Church, we dive into the early life of Moses to uncover how God brings purpose out of even the most chaotic beginnings. From being placed in a basket on the Nile to being raised in Pharaoh's palace, Moses' story is a reminder that no season is wasted when God is involved. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what's next, this sermon will encourage you to trust God's heart—even when you can't see His plan.#FindingPurpose #TrustGodInChaos #2911Church00:00 – Intro: Prince of Egypt & Youth Ministry 02:00 – Why Moses Still Matters Today 04:30 – Which Moses Are You? Send us a textBack in the 1980s, everyone, and I mean everyone, was trying to spread one simple message: Drugs Are Bad! There were a ton of PSAs telling kids to leave narcotics alone. Celebrities said to stay clean, and networks invested in one off specials to keep kids from taking one toke over the line. Or any tokes for that matter. Here now is the nexus of these specials, a hybrid of PSAs, The Flintstone Kids, and a certain gloved singer who was high... on the charts at this time. Its The Flintstone Kids "Just Say No" special.Enjoy, and be sure to listen sober. Wink. Thanks for ‘tooning in.
