On this episode we max out the update meter with a rat-snake rescue, a sticky Arby's medical trial homemade dungeon-crawler merch, and a lazy river powered mostly by beer. Then we stop optimizing long enough to ask whether “maxxing,” narcissism, and the cult of the individual are actually making us better—or just giving us endless new reasons to believe we're not good enough. So accept yourself exactly as you are—unless you actually know how to get taller, live forever, and secure ShadowMaxxing.com before somebody else does.

In 2025, he returned. And now, in 2026, the planet is in dire trouble. As a result of Sky's presence, the Earth has been covered in a calyx, a deadly web of foliage which blocks out the sun. It's up to the unearthly traveller and his friends to save the planet - but they might need the help of Sky's own people. The Confluence Arby and Jack are lost in the Juganet. Bex and Kyle take Sky to meet an old friend. Jane Briggs and her grief counsellor go through many weeks of sessions about Roy's death until the Juganet reunites them with the others but six months in Jane's future. But is everything, and everyone, quite what they seem? The Place of Darkness Another trip through the Juganet sees the Briggs family forced to confront their past while Arby and Cerys confront a twisted future. Who or what is the Skygod, and why does it demand tribune? And what is Kyle Brannock wearing on his head? This Far and No Further The Calyx has almost destroyed Earth and Sky is forced to do the one thing he dreads - he brings his own people to the planet to ask for help. But the Travellers have helped Earth in the past and are not very inclined to give this failed world yet another chance.

Racing is back this weekend! What better way to get fired up than with a round of the Dirty Thirty — 30 minutes, Dirty Mo Media's best, most hilarious, and eye-opening moments. Starting us off, Mark Martin came to our neck of the woods to sit down with Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Arby's studio! He and Dale talked about the playoff committee last year and why Mark wanted to stick to his guns on getting the best format possible for the fans. For Dirty Air this week, Dale Jr. hosted a round table of industry members — including Marcus Smith, Jeff Burton and Matt Weaver. The conversation took us to discuss the All-Star Race, the sentiment surrounding it, and what could happen to it in the future. Door Bumper Clear may have been on vacation, but they brought you an extra episode to enjoy! In this segment, you'll hear a riveting Rowdy story from superfan Frankie Dodd, who was everything we expected a DBC fan to be. And last, but fighting for position, it's Todd Gilliland and Connor Zilisch, who guest-hosted Actions Detrimental where they answered questions about life in "The Dawg Pound" — and you'll want to listen to find out more. For the past decade, Greg Flynn has been America's largest franchisee, and now he is the largest in the world. But he has a voracious appetite for more. “The dream here is to create a global business with operating capabilities and success beyond what the world has seen,” says Flynn, the 62-year-old CEO and founder of Flynn Group and Flynn Properties. “Operating businesses, especially consumer-facing ones, are really hard. If you can do it well consistently, over multiple brands and multiple geographies and multiple industries, that is a valuable and defensible thing to do.” Over the past three decades, he has doubled down on fast food franchises again and again. With $5 billion in annual revenue from more than 3,000 franchises of Applebee's, Taco Bell, Panera, Arby's, Pizza Hut, Wendy's and now Planet Fitness in 44 states as well as Australia and New Zealand, Flynn's portfolio is more than double the size of the next biggest franchisee. Forbes estimates Flynn has about 25% ownership with some $2.5 billion in loans and over $100 million in cash on hand. At a valuation Forbes estimates of $5 billion, that means Flynn is worth an estimated $650 million. (Flynn declined to comment.) By Chloe Sorvino, Forbes Staff Learn more about your ad choices. The Founderz Lounge Episode #94 with Don Varady and Steve Bon.In this episode of Business & Bullsh*t, Don and Steve break down why growth exposes the founder before it exposes the business. They start with a wild franchise story about the second-largest Arby's franchisee adding 155 restaurants in a single year, then dig into the real lesson behind it: the best franchise brands do not just know how to acquire, they know how to absorb. From infrastructure and culture to training systems and operator support, this episode gets into what fast growth actually demands behind the scenes. They also talk about what this year's Cannes Lions revealed about AI in advertising, why the best creative work still needs a human edge, and how founders should be thinking about technology as a tool instead of a shortcut. Then the conversation shifts into random bullsh*t, from billionaires buying ridiculous things to Bed Bath & Beyond bringing expired coupons back to life with a smart nostalgia-driven campaign. The hot take in this one hits hard: most business owners do not actually own a business, they own a lifestyle that requires them to show up every day. Don and Steve unpack the difference between real scale and personal chaos, why growth is not always winning, and how weak systems eventually get exposed. If you care about franchising, founder mindset, business ownership, systems, scale, and building something that can actually run without you, this episode is for you.Timestamps:[00:00] Trailer and Intro[00:47] Arby's franchise growth[04:37] Cannes Lions and AI[07:50] Random Bullsh*t[07:50] $100M impulse buy[11:01] Bed Bath and Beyond coupon promotion[13:45] Founderz Hot Take[13:45] You bought a job[14:26] $500K vs $2M[15:41] Growth isn't always winning[16:25] Training for scale[18:30] Growth mistakes and adaptation[21:48] What The Hell Is This?[21:48] Firestone cup holder trayKey Takeaways: • The best franchise brands do not just know how to acquire. More locations, more employees, and more products can shrink margins, stress the team, and expose weak foundations fast. ~Steve Bon• A brand can grow fast and still realize later that core systems like training, onboarding, and operator support were not built responsibly enough for scale. ~Don Varady• In franchising, some early mistakes are almost inevitable, because brands often do not know what they will need until growth forces them to adapt. ~Don Varady• Good operators need to be part of the evolution of the system, but franchisors still have to protect the brand and be willing to say no when it matters. ~Don Varady and Steve BonConnect with Don and Steve…Don Varady:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/don.varady/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/donvarady/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/don-varady-450896145 Steve Bon:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephenbon Instagram: https://instagram.com/stevebon8 Tune in to every episode on your favorite platform: Website: https://www.thefounderzlounge.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheFounderzLounge Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0Nurr4XjBE747qJ9Zjth0G Apple Music: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-founderz-lounge/id1461825349 The Founderz Lounge is Powered By:Clean Eatz:Website: https://cleaneatz.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CleanEatzLife/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cleaneatzlife/ Website: https://cleaneatz.com/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJRGrE-Xv4IMW_DbxSOTGGA Bon's Eye Marketing:Website: https://bonseyeonline.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bonseyemarketing Instagram: https://www.linkedin.com/company/bon's-eye-marketing/
Sometimes we gotta get a little parasocial with it and cry when big things happen to our faves. Plus, it's the curious case of Clavicular as he was happy to look a mess at Paris Fashion Week, while streamer ExtraEmily nearly causes a car wreck during her livestream. And we investigate the viral TikTok cake pop drama that is everything BUT sweet.
This week on 7 Minute Stories, a story about hunger, frustration, and the emotional collapse caused by one impossible-to-find turkey sandwich. What starts as a simple lunch craving turns into a full-blown suburban odyssey involving an empty deli counter, an Arby's without turkey, a pharmacy mix-up, a family of eight at Subway, and one very unfortunate sandwich artist. But beneath the absurdity is a small but powerful reminder about perspective. Sometimes the thing we think is ruining our day is really just revealing how much beauty we already have. Be sure to follow the podcast and leave a five star review so you never miss a new episode.

There's a hurricane in the Arby's studio. That's right – Carson Hocevar AKA ‘The Hurricane' dropped by today to fill in for Dale Jr as our host for DJD – and this episode was unforgettable. Right out of the gate, Dale Facetimed Carson, thinking that taping had just ended, but in fact, it was just getting started. Carson filled everyone in on his relationship with spotter Tyler Green, how the two navigated Naval Base Coronado, and the winning celebration that every fan would've been talking about had Carson pulled off the victory. In typical Hocevar fashion, Carson gave his takes on Reddick's sportsmanship while racing Heim for the win, his own run-in with Corey Heim, Noah Gragson's heated discussion with Kevin Magnussen, and so much more from the race weekend in San Diego. Cleetus McFarland also calls into the show to talk for a quick minute, right before Carson gets back to more of his opinions on all things NASCAR. Plus, a Kay Adams update. After what felt like the longest O'Reilly Series race of all-time, DJD was able to go live from San Diego for a great post-race show presented by Arby's and America's Navy. Dale, TJ and Freddie are joined by The Hurricane himself, Carson Hocevar, for the entirety of the show to talk about prepping on iRacing, Spire's standout performance, qualifying on the front row, and the unknowns of tire wear on the abrasive San Diego circuit. It was a late night but the gang brought the energy, so sit back and enjoy. THE PODCASTS YOU LOVE. THE MERCH YOU NEED.
