This way, agents do not need to ask questions that force customers to repeat themselves.  The goal of AI should not be to replace staff but to support them. It should enhance the capabilities of your existing team and help them to reach your organization's unique goals.  Many leaders claim their AI projects are successful even when they're over budget or delayed. A study by Laivly found that 65% of leaders called their most recent AI initiative successful even though, in reality, 43% of AI projects are delayed or stalled, and 53% went over budget.  Don't measure AI by the percentage of customers it touches or deflects. Focus on how it improves productivity and customer satisfaction metrics that you have set within your organization. Auch Nüsse seien ein wahres Superfood, schwärmt die Ernährungsberaterin, "da ist fast alles drin, was gesund ist": Pflanzenproteine, Vitamine, Mineral- und Ballaststoffe – und natürlich Omega-3-Fettsäuren. Um von denen viel zu bekommen, sei auch "fetter Fisch wie Lachs oder Makrele" zu dieser Jahreszeit eine gute Idee. “O ladrão de cadáveres” (1884) é conto do escritor escocês Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) no qual se tem forte a alegoria do bem e do mal em guerra um contra o outro. É a história do velho bêbado escocês, Fettes, homem de inegável instrução e também de algumas posses, já que vivia na ociosidade. Ao ouvir o nome do médico que viera de Londres, Dr. Wolfe Macfarlane, ele retorna a uma memória da juventude, com quem estudou Medicina em Edimburgo, na posição de monitor da turma. À ocasião, o filtro da ética de Fettes acende-se quando recebe o corpo de uma moça que ele quis namorar no dia anterior e que gozava de perfeita saúde. A isso, Macfarlane avança sobre Fettes com um discurso pesado de profecia, materializada na metáfora de que: de um lado, estão os leões, que têm coragem e sabedoria; e de outro, os cordeiros, que são desrespeitados e assassinados, indo parar na mesa de dissecação. Ao passo que a narrativa revela como ambos foram cúmplices de inúmeros casos ilícitos para obter corpos para os estudos, culminando no clássico caso da “consciência pesada”, emerge a prosa rica e sutil de Stevenson, que dá à história profundo sentido de beleza literária e tensão. I was looking for a few days, but didn't complete my search, but I decided to publish this note as now Tyler Cowen is asking too: "Which is the leading attempt to publish a canonical paper on AGI risk, in a leading science journal, refereed of course. The paper should have a formal model or calibration of some sort, working toward the conclusion of showing that the relevant risk is actually fairly high. Is there any such thing?" The three papers people replied with were: - Is Power-Seeking AI an Existential Risk?- The Alignment Problem from a Deep Learning Perspective - Unsolved Problems in ML Safety Places I was looking so far:- The list of references for that paper- The references for the Muehlhauser and Salamon intelligence explosion paper- The Sandburg review of singularities and related papers (these are quite close to passing muster I think) Places I wanted to look further: Papers by Yampolsky, aka- Papers mentioned in there by Schmidhuber (haven't gotten around to this)- I haven't thoroughly reviewed Intelligence Explosion Microeconomics, maybe this is the closest thing to fulfilling the criteria? But if there is something concrete in eg. some papers by Yampolsky and Schmidhuber, why hasn't anyone fleshed it out in more detail? For all the time people spend working on 'solutions' to the alignment problem, there still seems to be a serious lack of 'descriptions' of the alignment problem. Maybe the idea is, if you found the latter you would automatically have the former? I feel like something built on top of Intelligence Explosion Microeconomics and the Orthogonality Thesis could be super useful and convincing to a lot of people. And I think people like TC are perfectly justified in questioning why it doesn't exist, for all the millions of words collectively written on this topic on LW etc. I feel like a good simple model of this would be much more useful than another ten blog posts about the pros and cons of bombing data centers. This is the kind of thing that governments and lawyers and insurance firms can sink their teeth into. Where's the foom? Edit: Forgot to mention clippy. Clippy is in many ways the most convincing of all the things I read looking for this, and whenever I find myself getting skeptical of foom I read it again. Maybe an summary of the mechanisms described in there would be a step in the right direction? The Body Snatcher is a short story by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is a horror story about a medical student named Fettes who becomes involved with a sinister character named Gray, who is a body snatcher. Gray and Fettes work together to steal bodies from graves and sell them to a local doctor for use in anatomy lessons. However, their macabre business takes a dark turn when they are commissioned to procure a fresh body for a top surgeon. The story explores the moral dilemmas faced by the characters and the consequences of their actions. In the end, Fettes is forced to confront his own guilt and complicity in the gruesome business.
