If you hadn't heard, we're BACK, baby! Welcome to the OFFICIAL first recap episode of Sis Flicks Season 2! As we mentioned (warned) before on social media and on our Hit Clips, we were absolutely mooning over the special coming of age stories captured in Heartstopper this summer, and simply NEEDED to get some recaps out as Season 3 approaches (literally this week. Oops.) We are so excited to once again see Kit Connor and Joe Locke gracing our screens, teaching us about love, growing up, and taking care of each other. We don't cry in this episode, but that doesn't mean we won't be crying over these two SOON! Edited, recorded & produced by Nadhya & Paola. Intro Song "Alive in Everything," by Neon Beach.
Welcome BACK to the Sis Flicks Cinematic Universe, as we usher in the start of our Season TWO! It seems like an eternity and a blink of an eye, but after our brief end-of-summer hiatus we are BACK in your eardrums, ready to bring you some highly requested recap content! You'll find that this episode is a bit shorter than usual - and that's because you can find the rest of our unhinged discussion on PATREON! We've made a Patreon, added subscription options (depending on your chosen podcast listening platform) and our future Hit Clips episodes (and other bonus content, eyes emoji) will be moving over that way. We hope to see you there! And just like that... S1 of Sis Flicks Podcast has come to an end! But, fear not - after a brief break, we'll be back in the second half of September to kick S2 off in all its autumnal splendor. Before we take our leave, join us as we speak absolute nonsense about what we've been up to this summer, what we can't wait to see next year, and the movies and TV shows on the Sis Flicks short list for S2! (Hint: Heartstopper is right near the top!) Thank you all so much for tuning in, whether you've been with us for the last year(!) or joined us recently for our Bridgerton S3 coverage. We hope you get comfortable with us and stay a while - we're so glad you're here. Recorded, edited and produced by Nadhya & Paola. Intro song "Alive in Everything," by Neon Beach. Taste Is Simply Just Knowing How Something Makes You Feel. My Policeman is a new movie based on the book by Bethan Roberts, which is also based on the life of writer E.M. Forster. The crew talks about a new audiobook to check out from Jannette McCurdy and breakdown some questionable scenes from David Fincher's adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, pretty uneasy stuff to sit through as they revisit the cult classic film. Shannon brings up some sad news about the late Aaron Carter which makes the crew take a dive into a nostalgic trip from childhood bringing up walkman CD players, HitClips, and easier times. IMDB shares with us what the film is about: “The arrival of Patrick into Marion and Tom's home triggers the exploration of seismic events from 40 years previously.” While the film didn't strike everyone as the next amazing film, the crew divulges in the 1950s era Sussex society when it was extremely illegal to be homosexual with life sentencing consequences, and really love how these themes played out. This story of a love triangle serves a notebook-style story spending time in the 90s and the 50s. Apparently, to prepare for his role, Harry Styles memorized the entire script. According to the director, Styles could recite every character's lines in a given scene. Check it out to see what the crew thought about this novel adaptation which you can stream now, only on Amazon Prime. - MY POLICEMAN - DIRECTED BY Michael Grandage WRITTEN BYRon Nyswaner (Screenplay)Bethan Roberts (Based upon the book by) STARRING Gina McKeeLinus RoacheRupert EverettHarry StylesEmma CorrinDavid DawsonKadiff KirwanEmily JohnDora DavisJoseph Potter
Josh is in the classic back to school fog with the start of the new school year. Despite this, they power through to pitch a potential new product and a new “make money now” service. Jared brings some topics to the episode in classic handwritten form. They go into a deep dive on classic discontinued products, give a sports update, and talk about a fascinating new burger. They close out the episode in classic fashion with a Buzzfeed quiz and try to determine which movies they would save.

New episode and new lighting for the podcast. This week we open with daylight savings and Sin's plans to go out of town. Next, we talk about the new Supreme collab with Burberry. Later we talk about the new Batman movie and we discuss the Kanye doc.
Christine Biancavilla joins Donny & Chelsea to recap their most problematic movie yet: "Never Been Kissed" (which, it turns out, should have been called "Never Had a WAP" because we've been lied to our entire lives and Josie Grossie has, indeed, been kissed). This falls appropriately in theme with Chelsea sharing the most problematic story ever told on the podcast, (which, surprisingly, is not about hanging out Dunkin' Donuts parking lots) leaving Donny shocked. As always, Donny tries to out-do her and makes an alarming statement that will probably get him cancelled. The trio also discuss the power of "No Scrubs," Hit Clips and the best SNL casts.Follow Us on Social Media: The Dipp: @thedippChelsea: @ohnochelsDonny: @realdonnywood

In 1996, Microsoft debuted a virtual assistant to help folks navigate Microsoft Office - a cartoon paper clip named Clippy. What started as “Aw, that's kinda cute,” quickly turned to “Let's kill him!” How did it go so wrong? In the 1990s, a movie about a goofy genie captivated the hearts of American moviegoers. No, it wasn't Disney's Aladdin or the Shaquille O'Neil feature, “Kazaam.” This movie was called Shazaam - and it doesn't exist. We explore the bizarre reason that so many people are convinced that it does. Would you spend $4.99 on :30 of a hit song? Chances are that in 1999 you would have (and probably did). We watched Kidd Video, a 1984 show about a teen rock band that is transported into a magic musical realm called The Flipside, where the devious Master Blaster wants to harness their music energy to take over the world. The show starts with live action kids who become animated, voiced by the same actors, and every episode ends with a return to live action for a music video! We talk about how, despite the fact that the show is named after a single character and that character is named Kidd Video, everyone in the band seems like an equal protagonist. We also discuss Hit Clips, vocoders, The Mitchells vs. The Machines, and a fitness center where you pretend to pilot a giant robot, or if you will, a Pacific Gym. Vårens Mobile World Congress fant aldri sted, men dukket plutselig opp likevel.

Janine is going to be out of the country for the summer, so instead of sacrificing the trash for our lovely listeners, we have decided to do a series of micro-sodes, where we only have 7 1/2 minutes to talk about a topic of our choosing. Appropriately, the first topic is Hit-Clips, a digital audio player of the early 2000s that only played small clips from your favorite songs. Thanks to Paul Ryberg of Plug-in Missing and The Minute Pod for our awesome theme! Consider supporting us on Patreon: Patreon.com/hatepodcast.
On this episode, we have our first guest! It's the very funny Andy Lane! He's full of facts and has a spoooooky story to tell about his time at a boarding school and a strange encounter he had. Plus, we talk about the important stuff, like which doomsday cult we'd want to marry, what witch-Meg would be like as an adult, and of course, Hit Clips. Check out our website for more show notes!
Ooooh howdy the quality of this episode's book is divisive as figuring out where to plant your Identity Seeds. We dive into one of Chad's favorite titles in the original series-- Calling All Creeps-- and talk about the R.L.'s darkest payoff for teenage pranks, our hero Ricky the Butt Monkey, and which of us are secretly lizard people. This book gave us wonderful jumping off points for discussion and we're very happy you voted on us jumping ahead to this tale of pre-pubescent pod people. Enjoy! OTHER TOPICS: A new media format for the show, Hit Clips, Chad's recurring Gremlins nightmare, and early signs of Jordan Peele's new role as Master of Horror. Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind? Should old acquaintance be forgot, much like this show assumes we forgot about our old friends Yugi Muto and Joey Wheeler? Join us for our first episode of 2019, where we encounter a brief mystery in the show’s opener, talk about our New Year’s celebrations, and make some Very Very Good recommendations. Later, we talk about Pegasus’s proclivities, HitClips, failed McDonald’s branding experiments, and the WORST EDITING CHOICE THIS SHOW HAS EVER MADE. Eventually, we round out the episode with a decent summary, a lackluster cliffhanger, and a pitch for a new PBS show. Yes, we really do all of that. Will we ever get an explanation of Joey’s accent? Will the “men” in the room ever listen to Tea? Will Pegasus ever learn to differentiate between his internal and external monologues?! Welcome to probably our weirdest episode yet, where Morgan tries a new intro, attempts to help recap the Oscars and gets hit with a *mysterious* illness halfway through the episode. Meanwhile, Thomas is hurt that Morgan missed the Oscars, remembers HitClips and tries out an elevator pitch for the episode's movie in question. This episode we watch and review the 2017 Academy Awards' Best Picture, The Shape of Water. Movie Trailer Audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caj2OoFUXsQ

With last weeks episode being long and heavy - the ladies take it easier this week with their topics. Lexi is unfortunately not in a full blown relationship with Ellen's brother, but they do recap their weekend together at Ellen's sisters wedding. The ladies then discuss Eminem, how people are calling Rihanna fat (mind blowing), give an update on Montana's election, and have a new segment called Ding Dong of the Day. Somehow Tamagotchis and Hit Clips are brought up in the mean time. Listen, subscribe, follow us at @BallotsBottles @EllenFlem @LexiDussi
In this edition of Dude, Did You Hear Lite... The dudes are taking a trip down memory lane, destination? Nostalgia.. Grab your Gushers, Pogs, light-up LA Gear, and Hit Clips for a stroll with us! We’re throwing it back to the ol’ college dorm room days and drinking Natural Lite. It tastes just like your dorm room smelled, awful, just... let's move on. We’ve got some quickdraws that involve Mel Blanc’s tombstone, Dutch prime ministerial cannibal cookout and Humpty Dumpty: Revelations. Andy takes us down a nostalgic rabbit hole and answers the question we've all been asking. Why do we love the music from our teenage years? SCIENCE! That's right, the type of science you'd find in Dexter's Lab... if Dexter's Lab had a locked door and music your parents hated playing in it. Andy and Dave count down their Top 5 movies from the 1990s. This was way harder than we thought it would be. But it'll never be as hard as ambimetic polyalloy. Dave is back with another Would You Rather. This one makes Andy consider off-ing himself on a date. He only needs one reason why, and his first name is Gilbert.
As you might have heard, Josh has some news for us about his latest project, The Outline. Which is cool and probably going to change the worlds of publishing and news media... but before we get to that, he lets Ryan distract him with talk about P90X, Donald Trump, bagels, and cross-dressing French princes. Josh is really excited to share his new vision with you listeners but apparently Ryan really needs to talk about HitClips and complain about his father's Instagram presence – so we're just gonna get that out of the way. To hear about the current state of Josh's life's work check out episode 64. But first: Did you know Ryan had Splenda ice cream for breakfast? It was gross! Learn more about your ad choices.
