Was hält die Schweiz 2024 zusammen und was spaltet uns? Der 63-jährige Baselbieter Eric Nussbaumer ist dieses Jahr Nationalratspräsident und damit der höchste Schweizer. «Ich bin der Hausherr im Parlament – doch ich werde nicht belehrend sein», betont Nussbaumer. Vielmehr werde er sich für die Einhaltung der geltenden Regeln einsetzen. Und sowieso sei es ihm eine Ehre, dieses Amt auszuführen. Sein wichtigstes Thema ist das Verhältnis zur EU. Eric Nussbaumer ist unter anderem Präsident der Europäischen Bewegung Schweiz, die sich für einen EU-Beitritt einsetzt. Die Probleme mit der EU müssten nun endlich gelöst werden, sagt der SP-Politiker im «Tagesgespräch».

Der Schweizer Nationalratspräsident Eric Nussbaumer ist aktives Mitglied der evangelisch-methodistischen Kirche. Methodisten sagt man nach, sie würden Christsein zeitgemäss und authentisch gestalten. Welche Rolle sieht der SP-Politiker Nussbaumer für die Kirchen 2024 und darüber hinaus? Eric Nussbaumer singt gern, auch in der Kirche. Was ihm beides bedeutet und wie er in die Zukunft von Kirche und Gesellschaft schaut, ist Thema dieses Gesprächs zum neuen Jahr in Perspektiven. Als Nationalratspräsident hat er die Geschäfte des Parlaments im Griff, muss für Ausgleich sorgen und seine eigenen Präferenzen hintan stellen. Tatsächlich? Die Kirchen sind aktuell unter Legitimationsdruck. Es geht um kirchliche Leistungen für die Allgemeinheit, die von Kantonen und Gemeinden ja auch finanziell mitgetragen werden. Doch das Modell der Zusammenarbeit von Kirchen und Staat wird immer stärker hinterfragt, muss sich rechtfertigen. Wie erlebt das Eric Nussbaumer, zumal in seiner eigenen Partei der SP?

Die beiden Kantone planen deshalb eine gemeinsame Feier. Dafür haben sie ein Budget von 480'000 Franken veranschlagt, wie das Basler Onlineportal «Prime News» im September publik gemacht hat.Fast eine halbe Million an Steuergeldern – zu viel für die SVP-Fraktionen im Baselbieter Landrat und im Basler Grossen Rat: Sie werden der Wahlparty am 6. Dezember fernbleiben. Für BaZ-Chefredaktor Marcel Rohr «ein absolut richtiger Entscheid». Helle Aufregung in der Stadt und auf der Landschaft nach einer Top-Recherche vom Basler Onlineportal «Prime News». Gehts eigentlich noch?, zetern die Bürgerlichen. Eine halbe Million Franken an Steuergeldern für eine kleine Party? «Dreist», sagt FDP-Landrat Andreas Dürr entsetzt, das lasse ihn «fassungslos» zurück. In der Tat ist das viel Geld für diese traditionelle Feier, wie «Prime News» in Erfahrung gebracht hat. So viel Geld hat noch kein Fest für frühere National- und Ständeratspräsidenten in anderen Kantonen gekostet.Was ist davon zu halten? Wer ist dafür zu kritisieren? Wirklich die SP? Und muss das wirklich so viel kosten? Oliver Sterchi, stellvertretender Ressortleiter Region, diskutiert mit «BaZ direkt»-Host Sebastian Briellmann die drängendsten Fragen. Letzterer findet: «Das wirkt schon ein wenig dekadent.» Aber beide sind sich einig: Eva Herzog und Eric Nussbaumer können gar nicht viel dafür – für die SP könnte es im Wahlkampf aber trotzdem schädlich sein.

About today's winery: In a time without prospects for many South Tyrolean winegrowers, Christian Schrott, pastor of Tramin and later member of parliament in Vienna, founded their cooperative in 1898 to secure the future of many small local winegrowers. Thanks to the strength of this connection, the Tramin winery has developed over time into one of the most established cooperatives in the region and a model recognized worldwide. Today they are 160 winegrowing families and work a total of around 270 hectares. Every single bottle stands for their life's work philosophy: a sense of duty, commitment, confidence and creativity. In 1971, the Tramin winery merged with the Neumarkt cooperative, founded in 1893. This connection brings together in a single cooperative a rich heritage of traditions and vineyards, including the prestigious Pinot Noir vineyards of Mazzon and Glen. Under the leadership of our new cellar master, Willi Stürz, the trend towards rigorous quality thinking is completed in the 90s: the selection line (consisting today of Nussbaumer, Terminum, Unterebner, Stoan, Freisinger, Maglen, Urban and Loam) sees the light of day . These wines are the result of a selection from our best vineyards and symbolize what we do to the highest degree. In 2010 the conversion of the winery was completed. The sculptural building, a project by the South Tyrolean architect Werner Tscholl, will become Tramin's landmark. Die Katastrophentief „Bernd“ hat verheerende Schäden hinterlassen. Die Hochwasser im Juli waren eine humanitäre Katastrophe und zerstörten das Hab und Gut tausender Menschen. Der GDV rechnet mit einer Schadenbelastung durch “Bernd” in Höhe von 4,5 bis 5,5 Mrd. Euro. Damit dürfte 2021 für die Versicherer das schadenträchtigste Jahr seit 2002 werden. Auch die Zurich-Versicherung mit Sitz in Köln ist von den Auswirkungen der Flut betroffen.
