He grew up and followed his primary education in Neuchâtel then moved to Geneva where he graduated in dentistry in 1989 and completed a Doctoral Thesis in 1992. He taught and continued his postgraduate education in Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the University of Geneva until 1997. Awarded with major grants by the Swiss Science Foundation, the Swiss Foundation for Medical-Biological Grants, and the International Association for Dental Research, he spent two years as a full-time research scholar in Biomaterials and Biomechanics at the University of Minnesota between 1997 and 1999. Back at the University of Geneva, he received his PhD degree in 2002 and served as Senior Lecturer from 1999 to 2004. Since February 2004, he became Associate Professor at the University of Southern California (USC, Los Angeles) where he also serves as Director of the Center for Esthetic Dentistry. He is the author of the textbook -- "Bonded Porcelain Restorations" (Quintessence Publishing, 2002), as well as clinical and research articles on esthetics and adhesive dentistry and is frequently invited to lecture on these topics.

About Dr. Junji Tagami: Professor Junji Tagami was educated at Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), achieving his DDS in 1980 and his Ph.D. in 1984. He was appointed to the Professor and Chair of Cariology and Operative Dentistry, Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences at Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 1995. He is still responsible to manage the activities of the department. He is a prolific author who has contributed more than 450 papers to peer-reviewed international journals and some 200 papers to Japanese academic journals in the fields of cardiology, tooth-colored dental restorative systems, the bonding of materials to dental tissues, and dental education. His background in research on the mechanism and structure of caries is believed to be one of the most important factors orienting adhesion as a means of achieving minimally invasive dentistry. The development of the Optical Coherent Tomography(OCT) for dental diagnosis and application for laboratory material testing is one of his outstanding achievements in recent years. As the vice president and past dean of TMDU, he is a man of great power, influence, and potential in academic dentistry. As the chair of Cariology and Operative Dentistry, he has supervised over 150 graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from Japan and around the world in the past 20 years, some of whom have become prominent academicians themselves in Japan, North America, Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. Because of his contribution to dental research and education, he was awarded Honorary Degrees from King’s College of London and Mihidol University in Thailand, and the distinguished scientist award, Wilmer Souder Award, from IADR.

He completed vocational training in Essex and held junior hospital positions at Guy’s Hospital and King’s College Hospital, before completing an MSc in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute. He moved to Morriston Hospital in South Wales to work in the Maxillofacial Unit, initially as a Senior House Officer before becoming a Specialist Registrar. After three years in Wales he moved to Newcastle, where he completed his specialist training in Restorative Dentistry. During his training he completed relief work trips to Romania and Ghana with ‘Young Smiles for Romania’ and ‘Global Brigades’. In 2013 Aws became the International Team for Implantology Scholar in Toronto, Canada, working at the Hospital for Sick Children and Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. He returned to London in 2014 to become a full time Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at King’s College Hospital. His main remit is the management of congenital and acquired defects within an MDT environment, working alongside Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. He has published over 40 peer reviewed papers and maintains an active interest in current clinical issues and research. He has won grants from the British Endodontic Society and the Royal College of Surgeons to examine novel tooth filling materials. He is a previous British Society of Restorative Dentistry and British Endodontic Society council member. He recently completed a Masters Degree in Medical Law; his dissertation was titled ‘Social Media and the Dental Patient: A medicolegal perspective’. He is the course director for the Diploma in Operative Dentistry at KCL which looks to upskill in a multifaceted manner through seminars, hands on simulated exercises and clinical treatment. Doctor Stevenson received his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from UCLA in 1982 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1986. After practicing general dentistry for 7 years in Laguna Niguel, California, he accepted a full time teaching position at the UCLA School of Dentistry, as an Assistant Professor in the Section of Operative Dentistry.
He is the Editor of six textbooks including Grossman's Endodontic Practice and Sturdevant's Art and Science of Operative Dentistry – South Asian Edition that are read by more than 30,000 students annually. He is currently serving as the Associate Editor of European Endodontic Journal. He is also the General Secretary and Clinical Examiner for the Indian Board of Endodontics, the only certifying board for the specialty of endodontics in India. He was also the Editor in Chief of the Pubmed Indexed Journal of Conservative Dentistry (www.jcd.org.in) from 2008 - 2016. He is on the editorial review board for several prominent dental journals, acts as a consultant to the VA, and a consultant and clinical evaluator to over 15 dental manufacturers. Dr. Newton Fahl, Jr. discusses how dentists can gain new excitement for their profession by incorporating creativity and artistry into their procedures. He relates how Renaissance artists were able to become prominent in their field and how this relates to the dental profession in providing patients with the optimal esthetic result. Dr. Fahl received his DDS degree from Londrina State University, Brazil, in 1987. In 1989 he received the Certificate in Operative Dentistry and Master of Science degree from the University of Iowa, USA. After returning to Brazil, he settled in Curitiba, where he maintains a private practice emphasizing esthetic dentistry. Dr. Newton Fahl, Jr. is a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED), and founding member and past-president of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (BSAD). He is a MCG-Hinman Foundation fellow. Dr. Fahl has published several enlightening articles on direct and indirect bonding techniques. Dr. Ron Kaminer graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1990. He practices Laser and Comprehensive Dentistry in Hewlett and Oceanside. He has lectured nationally on the subject of using lasers in Dentistry, teaching dentists how to use lasers in their practice. He is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Academy of Operative Dentistry.
