Got a show or guest idea? Send us a text!In this solocast episode of The Remedy Revolution, host Erin Paige, a homeopath and founder of Heartwing Healing, delves into the foundational principles of homeopathy. Heartwing Healing is a family practice dedicated to addressing complex conditions, often working with patients who suffer from chronic ailments such as Autism, PANDAS/PANS, Lupus, Lyme disease, Hashimoto's, hormonal imbalances, vaccine injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. With her extensive experience and compassionate approach, Erin provides valuable insights into the world of homeopathy and its potential to transform health outcomes for those dealing with persistent health challenges.Erin begins by explaining the first principle of homeopathy: "like cures like," also known as the Law of Similars. This principle suggests that substances which produce symptoms in a healthy person can be used to treat similar symptoms in a sick person. By using this approach, homeopaths aim to stimulate the body's natural healing processes, encouraging it to correct imbalances and restore health. This concept is fundamental to homeopathy and distinguishes it from conventional medicine, which often focuses on suppressing symptoms rather than addressing their underlying causes. The second principle discussed is the holistic approach of homeopathy, where practitioners seek one remedy that can address multiple symptoms, rather than prescribing different medications for each individual ailment. This principle highlights the interconnectedness of bodily systems and the importance of treating the person as a whole. Erin emphasizes that this comprehensive approach can lead to more effective and lasting healing, as it considers the complex interactions between various symptoms and conditions.Erin emphasizes the highly individualized nature of homeopathic treatment as the third principle, highlighting the importance of tailoring remedies to each patient's unique symptoms and health profile. Homeopathy recognizes that no two individuals are exactly alike, even if they have similar diagnoses. This personalized approach ensures that treatment is specifically suited to each person's needs, increasing the likelihood of successful outcomes. Erin shares examples from her practice to illustrate how individualized remedies can make a significant difference in patients' lives. The final principle she covers is the focus on identifying and treating the root cause of illness. Homeopathy does not aim to merely mask symptoms; instead, it interprets symptoms as signals from the body that something is amiss. By using homeopathic remedies, the goal is to provide the body with the necessary clues to heal itself, recognizing the body's inherent ability to self-heal. Erin explains that this approach leads to deeper and more sustainable healing, as it addresses the core issues contributing to health problems. For those interested in learning more or scheduling a free introductory call with Erin, additional information can be found at Heartwing Healing's website: [https://heartwinghealing.com](https://heartwinghealing.com). Erin invites listeners to explore the potential of homeopathy and discover how it can support their journey toward optimal health and well-being.

No one knows for certain what causes OCD. We know what areas of the brain are implicated in OCD, but the rest seems up for discussion. We need more research to understand this disorder. Some kids have OCD symptoms due to an umbrella of issues under PANDAS/PANS. Research is showing that inflammation in the brain can impact mental health and cause neuropsychiatric symptoms, including OCD. Many kids have autoimmune issues, infections such as strep or have had environmental exposure to things like mold or Lyme that can cause an inflammatory response. Introduction In today's episode, we host Dr. Shannon White, a seasoned professional in the healthcare community who's become a leading voice in Lyme disease treatment. Joining her are Rich Johannesen and special guest co-host Tiara Smith, who together will navigate the intricacies of Lyme disease, its co-infections, and the often complex treatment process. The Journey of Dr. Shannon White Dr. White shares her personal and professional journey. Raised in Iowa, she was always a nature enthusiast, which ironically exposed her to ticks and the risk of Lyme disease. Dr. White was fascinated by health and biology from a young age, leading her to choose a career as a chiropractor. However, her quest for knowledge led her to explore further – delving into acupuncture and herbalism. Understanding Lyme Dr. White's passion for learning and dedication to her patients led her to investigate deeper into recurring patterns in their health issues. This journey led her to explore the realm of Lyme disease. The conversation steers into discussing the complications of Lyme disease and its co-infections, where she highlights the importance of tailored treatment plans. Discovering a New Approach Dr. White touches upon a novel approach to diagnosis using a meridian-based machine called The Reflex. This innovative device detects the stress level in the body by analyzing the reactions to vials containing imprints of different viruses and bacteria DNA. Treating Lyme and Co-Infections Dr. White discusses her approach to treating Lyme disease, co-infections, and the challenging process of determining which condition to address first. With the help of DesBio, a series of homeopathic remedies, and customized treatment plans, she has been able to help many of her patients recover. The Nutrition Factor The podcast covers the importance of nutrition in Lyme treatment. Dr. White recommends reducing the intake of dairy, corn, soy, gluten, and sugar to aid in recovery. She also emphasizes the importance of addressing any existing digestive issues. Lyme in Children Dr. White shares her experience treating children with Lyme disease and PANDAS/PANS, describing her joy in seeing them recover. She stresses the importance of listening to patients to fully understand their condition and develop the best treatment plan. Mold as a Co-factor Our conversation takes an unexpected turn when Dr. White discusses the impact of mold on Lyme disease. She shares patient stories where unexplained symptoms and stubborn Lyme cases were finally resolved after addressing hidden mold issues in the patients' environments. Parting Thoughts The podcast concludes with Dr. White sharing what she wishes more people knew about Lyme disease, emphasizing that it's not just deer ticks that can cause the condition. She encourages listeners to be vigilant and informed about this complex disease. Closing Remarks Our co-hosts thank Dr. White for her valuable insights and the knowledge she shared about Lyme disease, promising to continue the conversation in future episodes. Tune in to this episode to learn more about Dr. Shannon White's journey, her approach to treating Lyme disease, and how she is making a difference in the healthcare community.

Autism, ADHD, OCD, and PANDAS/PANS are some of the challenging neuroinflammatory conditions in growing numbers of children these days. While the conventional treatment has typically been pharmaceuticals and behavioral therapies, we are truly in the midst of a paradigm shift aiming at root causes and asking 'why' and 'how' for both cause and treatment. Innovations in medicine are bringing us new evaluation tools, nuanced diagnosis capabilities, and treatment options. Dr Emily Gutierrez, a seasoned pediatric psychiatric doctorally-prepared nurse practitioner in Austin, Texas, prioritizes these kids who need new approaches. We begin the show by walking through the names, diagnostic criteria, and developmental progressions of some of these disorders like PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections), PANS (Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome), and autism spectrum disorder, including their associated symptoms of anxiety, depression, and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). She delineates autism as kids with global delay who have never met milestones (consider genetic testing with chromosomal microarray and Fragile X testing) versus those with regression or later development of symptoms (consider environmental triggers). We review Dr Richard Frye's formula for regressive autism or PANS/PANDAS etiologies being 20% genetics + 80% environmental triggers, including oxidative stress (aka total toxic burden of metals, infections, mycotoxins, poor elimination), methylation deficiencies, and mitochondrial dysfunction. She notes, "Psychiatric symptoms can have an immunological basis that needs to be ruled out before sticking a kid on a medication. Maybe the med is amoxicillin instead of prozac." We get far into the details with these physiological processes. This is an exciting conversation about understanding root causes, choosing treatment approaches and celebrating the inherent resilience of children. The earlier the intervention, the better the outcome. She emphasizes that these conditions are not the fault of the child or the parents and that it is somewhat a war of attrition, meaning, staying with it is the best way to support kids long term to become their best selves. For the benefit of our kids and society as a whole, we all need to heed the call to approach children with neuroinflammatory conditions with fresh, science-based, evidence-backed eyes- listen in to learn what this means and how it can be done. On this week's episode, I provide an overview of some of my recent learnings on PANDAS/PANS from the Get Unstuck Parenting Summit hosted by Dr. Roseann Capanna-Hodge, a conversation with Dr. Jennifer Bahr, a webinar, the Ultimate Health Podcast with Dr. Tom O'Bryan, and other treatment opportunities. I also talk about the dilemma that many families feel in terms of how to choose their next step to optimize their child's health. I also provide the audio version of the first chapter of my new middle-grade novel Pendulum by S.E. German. If you are interested in sampling this heartwarming story, you can listen for free! Pendulum follows the story of a young boy that experiences mental health challenges (anxiety, OCD, depression), ADHD and tics following an infection, a disorder called PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated With Streptococcal Infections). This book can act as a catalyst to start conversations about mental health with your child. Here are some prompts: Does your child ever feel the emotions that the character talks about? Which ones do they identify with? How do these issues feel in their body? How would your child feel if that situation came up? Does your child use any of the tools mentioned? It's important to start these conversations so your child knows they can talk with you about mental health. #autoimmunedisease #neurodiversity #autoimmuneencephalitis #parenting #parentingtips #panspandas #pandaspans #OCD #anxiety #TICs #childrensmentalhealth #middlegrade   As always, this podcast is based on experiences and should not be construed as medical or professional advice. Zhuzh up your cheese and charcuterie board to pair with Château Barbebelle Cuvée Madeleine Rouge and benefit The Alex Manfull Memorial Fund Supporting Research, Education, and Treatment of PANDAS. Please join Susan and William “Towny” Manfull, founders of The Alex Manfull Memorial Fund, and David Scott Allen, editor of Cocoa & Lavender, at the Urban Wine Club for a fun and informative webinar about an excellent (2017) French red wine from Château Barbebelle in Provence. This Cuvée Madeleine Rouge (2017) – aka “Alex’s wine — was specially made to raise awareness about PANDAS, a neurological disorder triggered by Streptococcus that is also referred to as basal ganglia encephalitis. This awareness campaign is called À Table! (French for “come to the table!”). The goal is to bring people “to the table” to share wine, food, and conversation about PANDAS and a related neurological disorder called PANS. Our guests at the table will be discussing the recent Health Care legislation passed in Massachusetts and how it will benefit those with PANDAS/PANS. Proceeds from the sales of the wine will be donated to The Alex Manfull Memorial Fund, which is dedicated to raising awareness as well as supporting education and research that furthers the understanding of PANDAS/PANS, especially in adolescents and young adults. The Cork Stop/Urban Wine Club is the only outlet in the United States selling this wine. (It is available in France at De La Cuisine au 20 in Lourmarin and at Château Barbebelle in Rognes, both in Provence.) In the kitchen, David will begin by popping some no knead bread into the oven and, while that is baking, he will demonstrate how easy it is to make the bread. Then, he will create a cheese and charcuterie board that will pair with Alex’s wine and show us how to zhuzh it up with things you probably have around the house. The nice thing about a charcuterie board is that it doesn’t need to be complicated or have fancy ingredients. It simply needs to have items that pair well with the wine being served. Together, Susan, Towny, and David will talk about the best cheeses, meats, and accoutrements to go with Alex’s wine – and why. Towny and Susan (editor of Provence WineZine), who lost their only child to PANDAS, will also talk about why they founded The Alex Manfull Memorial Fund, part of PANDAS Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Most importantly, also sitting ‘round the table will be some local citizens who were instrumental in getting the Health Care legislation passed: Sheilah M. Gauch, LICSW, M.Ed., Principal of Dearborn Academy, and Jennifer Vitelli, MBA, Co-Executive Director of The JBC PANS & PANDAS Foundation and Founding Member of New England PANS/PANDAS Association, who (with a team of citizens!) worked tirelessly. As a result, health insurance coverage for PANDAS/PANS treatment is mandated in Massachusetts and a PANDAS/PANS Advisory Council at the Mass. Department of Public Health will be created. Château Barbebelle Cuvée Madeleine (aka Alex’s wine) may be purchased at the link below (the first shipment sold out in hours!) with FREE SHIPPING! https://urbanwineclub.co/cart/product/cuvee-madeleine-rouge/

Recovered from Autism Caused by Lyme Disease and Mold/Biotoxin Illness Do you wonder if your child can recover from their symptoms of autism? My own son is living proof of this, as are so many other children today. One of these children, Brian Dashore, shares his personal story of recovery here with you in this heartwarming and motivational interview. At 18 months of age Brian Dashore was diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Brian continued his earlier years of life with very limited speech, and one day at age 6, suddenly he found himself in extreme pain and his legs stopped working. His health continued to decline and he was unable to turn himself over in bed or walk. For two years following this episode he was restricted to using a wheelchair. Brian’s mother, Dr. Jodie Dashore, being a neurologist was determined to figure out how to restore Brian’s health to 100%. He had seen many doctors around the world. It took a decade to finally discover that he had Lyme and chronic inflammatory response from mold biotoxins. Ultimately, integrative medicine and clinical herbalism helped him accomplish his dreams.  Today Brian is 17 years old. He has been accepted to Ivy League high school summer programs and won science and math awards. He plans to have a career in medicine to help other people know they do not have to live in pain with chronic illnesses either. He currently has his own website, TeenLymeHub.com, where he runs a support group for teens with Lyme Disease, Mold biotoxin illness, PANDAS/PANS and Aspergers. inflammation, toxins, immune reactions, and infections, (Lyme Mold, PANDAS/strep) and more. They also have external stressors from sensory overload issues. The adrenal glands are responsible for helping regulate our stress response through the release of the hormone cortisol. Often referred to as the Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal axis (HPA). These each have their own job in this process. The hypothalamus, a part of the brain, keeps hormones balanced. The pituitary, also part of the brain, sends signals out from the brain such as thyroid stimulating hormone. The adrenals participate by releasing the stress hormone cortisol. It creates the fight or flight response. Symptoms of cortisol imbalance: The stress response, when overburdened, creates many health and behavioral issues. Symptoms are a manifestation of what is happening in the body. Learn how cortisol effects our: sleep  energy levels immune system mood (aggression) hormones brain/memory weight blood sugar food digestion thyroid …and much more. How to help regulate cortisol and energy levels Listen to my radio show interview with Dr. Anju Usman Singh, show #40, and learn how to regulate your blood sugar through diet, vitamin supplementation, and adaptogenic herbs such as ashwaganda and holy basil. The term “adaptogenic” means that it will help the body naturally “adapt” as it needs. They can assist in lifting energy when it’s down, or calming energy when it is too high. A few foods and toxins that negatively effect cortisol levels are:  sugars high fructose corn syrup red and yellow food dyes meats injected with hormones environmental toxins that disrupt hormone balance, nitrates pesticides Monosodium glutamate (MSG) imitation sweeteners such as aspartame When testing cortisol levels be sure to test with urine, or my favorite, saliva. The test must be done at least 4 times throughout the day, as cortisone levels change. If only one sample is taken then you do not have a clear reading. It is commonly low in the morning so you may notice it being difficult to wake. It can be high in the evening so it makes it hard to go to sleep. A few tips to help your cortisol levels throughout the day: In the morning solid licorice root extract can be helpful to give some energy. The adaptogenic herbs, ashwaganda and holy basil can be helpful to help calm in the evening before bed.  COQ10 can help increase energy  Ginseng can help give some energy in the afternoon but helps calm too. Deep breaths and exercising can be very helpful to teach your child to self regulate with also. Listen to my radio show interview with Dr. Usman on the stress response and how cortisol can effect your child’s health and behavior. Radio show # 40. A friend asked us tonight if we saw behavioral regressions when we got sick while recovering from autism. She noticed that his ATEC (Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist) score rose (not good) when he was sick and fell (good) when we got well. We attribute those regressions to PANDAS caused by a viral infection. We talk about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and how it feeds the viruses and strep with the the meat and dairy allowed. Medical Medium says that sticking to fruit and veggies along with supplements to kill the viruses and strep really heal the infections behind the PANDAS/PANS issues. We also talk about the five things to heal from if you're shooting for a full recovery from autism! ~Mark & Michelle @ Heal Your Autism Mark and Michelle Hedges have been married 25 years. Most of us know that Strep can attack our joints. Most of us know that Strep can attack our heart. But did you know that Strep can attack our brain? It hides behind OCD symptoms. It hides behind children who all of a sudden are afraid to eat, afraid to sleep. Who start to wet the bed. Who start to rage. Who start to develop compulsions, tics and struggles they’ve never had before. It hides under the mystery and denial of PANDAS/PANS. ***This podcast is for informational purposes only and should not be used to replace the guidance of a qualified professional.Visit my website at www.ATparentingSurvival.comInterested in my AT Parenting Community Membership? Autoimmune and neurological conditions amongst children are on the rise. Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcus (PANDAS) and Paediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychatric Syndrome (PANS) are two disorders affecting a growing number of families. They present as a deeply complex network of symptoms for the practitioner to unravel and this is what paediatrician and "Holistic Mama Doc" Dr Elisa Song specialises in. This is a huge topic and will be covered in two-parts. Today, Dr Song will take us on a complex journey, to elucidate what PANDAS/PANS is, who is at risk and how to identify and test for them. As a paediatric physician in clinical practice, Dr Song has a wealth of information to share with her obvious passion for preventative healthcare using functional medicine. *****DISCLAIMER: The information provided on FX Medicine is for educational and informational purposes only. Episode #6: Debugging Your Health with Susan Luschas, PhD

Why You Should Listen: In this episode, you will learn how a PhD from MIT in science and engineering used her engineering mind, energetic medicine, and muscle testing to recover her family's health from Lyme disease and autism. Enjoy! About My Guest: My guest for this episode is Susan Luschas. Susan is an MIT trained PhD, scientist, and engineer. Why would a PhD from MIT start debugging her own family’s health, and why in the world would she create DebugYourHealth.com? Susan's family was a normal family of four - or as she says as normal as can be with two engineering PhD parents can get. Her oldest daughter started showing concerning behaviors around age 2. She was skipping meals, had a distended belly, was vomiting, had nausea, and weight loss. They did the doctor parade and had diagnoses from dysbiosis to allergies to failure to thrive. Her health continued to spiral downward and at age 4, she had such pain that she could not walk and had full-blown autism. She was rocking back and forth in a dark corner and lost her ability to speak. As if that wasn't enough for a family to contend with, Susan, her younger daughter, and her husband all later became ill. We'll let her tell us how that happened. What drew me to Susan's story was how she applied her engineering mind and problem solving skills to essentially become her family's doctor and to debug their health. As I personally am a big fan of various forms of energetic testing, I loved the part of the story where Susan, an MIT PhD, used muscle testing and other forms of energetic testing to help guide her family out of the darkness. And even cooler, she did it. Key Takeaways: - How did Susan's daughter become ill and then how did this lead to her entire family becoming ill? - How did she use muscle testing and other forms of energetic medicine to guide her family's path? - How did she explore and address parasites? - What was her own journey with dental cavitations? - What did she find helpful for detoxification and drainage? - What is important to explore when autism is a factor? - How did PANDAS/PANS impact her family? - How is her family doing today?
