“All I've done is I've tried to take past experiences of pain that I've learned from and pour them in the other men who I've come to terms with.”Strength isn't about domination—it's about discipline, self-respect, and responsibility. The real work of becoming a man today begins with facing your demons, taking full ownership of your life, and learning to protect and provide for those you love. Masculinity, at its core, is not toxic. It's essential. But to embody it, you've got to be fit—mentally, emotionally, and physically—and be ready to bet everything on yourself. In this episode, you'll hear how pain can be turned into purpose. You'll learn how to build your “life resume,” why failure is the stepping stone to success, and how daily discomfort sharpens a man's spirit. From fatherhood to faith, team building to trauma, the message is clear: your growth starts when your excuses end.Ray “Cash” Care is a former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor turned entrepreneur, speaker, and men's coach. He's built his mission around forging savage servants—strong, disciplined, vulnerable men who lead from the front.Learn more & connect:Also in this episode:Books MentionedEmotional Intelligence 2.0Author: Travis Bradberry & Jean Greaveshttps://www.amazon.com/Emotional-Intelligence-2-0-Travis-Bradberry/dp/0974320625The Missing Secret of the Legendary Book Think and Grow RichAuthor: John Mitchellhttps://thinkitbeit.com/You're invited to come to a Sovereign Circle meeting to experience it for yourself.

Every single day we wake up with an agenda and to-do list.  In a sense, we go to war or to battle to conquer the day. Are we prepared? What are we doing to prepare? In this week's podcast we talk about preparing for our battles and talk about the armor we put on to do this.  I liken our armor to football gear that my little grid kid player has. They are: Helmets: Fill our minds with goodness. Keep the garbage out and "Don't give the enemy a seat at our tables." Mouthguards: Talk less and listen more to gain awareness, perspective, and understanding. Padding: Gird up our loins with the 5 pillars of emotional wellness.  Sleep, nutrition/hydration, movement, sunlight, and connection. These alone can make a BIG difference! Cleats: Keep Moving! Don't give up! Everything we want is on the other side of hard! The wars and battles will rage all around us, but "If we are prepared we shall not fear!" This episode is also available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/y_j9kYl_dq8 Life is unpredictable, and opportunities can arise unexpectedly. Preparing your business for sale, even if you don't plan to sell anytime soon, is a strategic move. It's akin to maintaining your house for potential buyers; you fix the leaky roof, repaint the walls, and tidy up the garden. Rick Fox, an experienced Chief Revenue Officer at Brightway, emphasizes the importance of this proactive approach. Running your business as if it's always on the market not only enhances its value but also ensures smooth operations and financial health. By maintaining thorough records, optimizing processes, and keeping your team aligned with business goals, you can attract potential buyers and investors. Plus, this level of preparedness often results in a more efficient, profitable, and enjoyable business to run. Rick Fox, currently the Chief Revenue Officer at Brightway, brings a wealth of experience to the table. With a career that began in sales and insurance, Rick built his own successful independent insurance agency. Recognizing the importance of formal education, he paused his career to complete his degree before returning to expand his business. He later transitioned to the technology side of insurance, holding significant roles such as Head of Agency Sales at Vertifor and President of Agency Revolution. Rick's expertise lies in scaling operations, enhancing customer experiences, and driving revenue growth through innovative product offerings. His deep understanding of both the insurance and technology sectors makes him a sought-after leader and strategist. What you'll learn: How can businesses maintain operational efficiency while preparing for a potential sale? What are the critical steps in aligning a sales team with the overarching goals of the company? Why is it essential to maintain passion and enthusiasm in sales, and how can leaders impart this to their teams? We want to hear from you! Sales leaders: What are the challenges you are faced with? In order for us to be effective leaders on the outside, we must be self-aware within. In a recent study of over half a million people, Travis Bradberry narrowed success down to one factor, self-awareness. Awareness is a vital skill to master in which your values, beliefs and behaviors have to be in alignment. Tasha Eurich illustrates the four ways all people embody this trait by examining their internal vs external loci of awareness. She breaks self-awareness down into four quadrants: seekers, introspectors, pleasers, and those who are aware. In this episode, Craig discerns how to understand which quadrant you fall underneath, as well as the key component to moving towards awareness: asking for feedback, one of the most inexpensive activities we can take on as leaders.  What You'll Learn: 1. The key trait in mastering your external presence as a leader 2. The definition of self-awareness 3. Internal vs external awareness 4. The four types of awareness 5. What does EQ have to do with leading in the military? How does EQ line up with scripture? Noble Gibbens, also known as the EQ Gangster, joins me on the podcast to answer these questions. An Oklahoma-born West Point graduate who served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division, Noble combined his entrepreneurial spirit and experience with his passion for emotional intelligence to become a certified emotional intelligence practitioner, corporate speaker & trainer, and executive leadership coach.  After growing up in a home where he “learned absolutely nothing about conflict resolution” and realizing his emotional dysfunction in his own home as an adult, Noble met with a counselor and began his emotional fitness journey. In this episode, he defines emotional intelligence, shares experiences with leadership in and out of the military context, talks about David and other biblical examples of emotional intelligence, and more.  Check out these resources mentioned in Noble's interview:  Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Dr. Travis Bradberry and Dr. Jean Greaves  EQ-i 2.0, an online self-rating assessment tool  EQ Gangster podcast, Episode #273: Dr. Brooks Gibbs, Emotional Resilience in Teens & Adults, and Creating Unstoppable Humans  Changes That Heal: Four Practical Steps to a Happier, Healthier You by Dr. Henry Cloud  Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No to Take Control of Your Life by Dr. Henry Cloud, Dr. John Townsend  Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting Out of the Box by The Arbinger Institute  Running on Empty: Overcome Your Childhood Emotional Neglect by Jonice Webb, PhD, with Christine Musello Running on Empty No More: Transform Your Relationships With Your Partner, Your Parents and Your Children by Jonice Webb, PhD   As you listen to this conversation with Noble, here are a few questions to ponder in your personal time, with a small group, or with a mentor:  How would you define emotional intelligence?  Think back to your own upbringing. How did your community, family, etc. talk about emotions? How has that impacted your understanding of emotional intelligence now?  To pose Noble's question mentioned in this episode: How often do anxiety and frustrations, motivation, impulses, fear, and distress affect and impact your decision-making?  Having listened to Noble explain the impact emotional intelligence can have on working relationships, what can improve within your own workplace?  We talk about Jesus as the biblical model of being unoffendable, a trait that indicates high emotional intelligence. What can we learn from His example?
