You catch the gorilla's eye and he quickly looks away. But fuzzy face be damned, you swear his cheeks turn a bit red. You look away, and he glances back and smiles. You go your separate ways, but you cannot stop thinking about that gorilla and maybe, just maybe, you imagine he's probably thinking about you... This time around, the Gorillamen talk all about...crushes: When did you first become aware of crushes? Who, or even what, was your first crush? How do you define a crush? Who are some of your early crushes? Any fictional crushes? Did you ever have a crush on a teacher? Why? Who is your man crush...or even crushes? Besides the guys we just listed, any other current harmless crushes? Why do you think humans develop crushes? Are crushes an issue, or are they harmless? If your spouse has any crushes, are you jealous about them? Do you think crushes can become something more...even delving into the realm of becoming a problem? What is the future of the human crush on others? * * * "I Have a Crush on You" Photo: Leonardo Sanches.

Conversations with Karel, the Real Dish on Tea, Trump Is Not a Racist Conversations with Karel, the Real Dish on Tea, Trump Is Not a Racist is going to make your head explode, but just for a moment. First, do you know the history of some of the things you love, or eat, or wear, or sing? Why do you do what you do, eat what you eat, have coffee in the morning? Why? Who started it? Well, I did some research on Tea and you won’t believe the dish I discovered. And it smacks of today’s world, classism, elitism, and so much more. Then, Trump is not a racist. Nor is he a homophobe. He’s not sexist, he’s not any of those things. He’s Trumpist. He, by definition of over 250 psychiatrists, is a narcissist and a sociopath, which means, devoid of most human emotions, Real ones. Hatred, bigotry, racism, those are all emotions. And he can’t feel them. He doesn’t support a cause, he only supports Trump and those that support him; whoever that may be at the time. And it’s dangerous to classify him as anything but a Trumpist. Listen daily at all streaming services, look for the relaunch of reallykarel.com and support the show at patreon.com/karel

Why The Trials? | Psalm 66:8-20

This psalm is for the discouraged. “O bless oh God, you people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard.” Why? “Who keeps our soul among the living, and does not allow our feet to be moved” (V.8-9). God knows us from top to bottom. He is proving something to us. God considers us as valuable as silver, and He puts us into situations that test and strengthen us. We go through fire and water, but we are brought out into a wealthy place. The psalmist does not say, “Well, here I am in trouble again.” No, he says, “God brought me in, and God’s going to bring me through. And when He brings me out, I am going to be in the wealthy place. The word “wealthy” means “an abundant place, a moist place, a place of running water and fruitfulness.” David so often found himself, was dry and barren land. The trial of God have a refining and strengthening effect. The result is they make us more like Jesus. God always enriches us when we go through difficulty. Be encouraged that God will see you through and that He will use your trials to build you.

I don’t let societal norms affect me I don’t want to numb my compassion I like the quirkiness that makes me I might want my sensory sensitivity removed, but keep the emotional depth It helps me be creative, artistic and introspective HSPs are shamans and healers (therapists, massage therapist, teachers) Would be boring—I wouldn’t have insight and I wouldn’t care I’m strong and resilient   31 Questions to ask yourself before setting next year’s goals What are the first thoughts that come to mind about the past year? Mostly positive, negative, or neutral? What was one of the most interesting things I learned this year? Who was one person I met that I'd like to get to know better? Why? What was one of my most challenging moments? Why? What was one of my favorite accomplishments? What was one personal strength I used this year? How did it benefit my work or life? What hurdle came up more than once? (time, money, attitude, location, knowledge, etc.) How well did I communicate with the people who matter most to me? What three events or accomplishments were made possible by the help of others? What advice would I offer someone else on the basis of a lesson I learned this year? What are three problems that came up at work? How did I approach solving those problems? Are there any trends in those problems or solutions? Who needed my encouragement this year? What did I say or do to help them along? If I were writing a memoir, what would I highlight in the chapter about this year? What was I doing when I forgot about time and was able to be "in the moment"? What frustration seemed to come up again and again? What did I start and not finish? What did I try and fail? What three things am I curious to know more about? If I could wave a magic wand and master one skill, what would it be? Why? Who is one person I could help right now? How? What would it "cost" me? What would I gain? When did I slow someone else's progress? Why? What was I worried about? What's one thing I made or created from scratch? How did that feel? What's one thing I did that left me exhausted at the end? How did that feel? What's one thing I was a part of this year that I'll remember for the rest of my life? Why? What was the nicest thing someone did for me this year? What was the nicest thing I did for someone else this year? If I could change one thing that happened this year, what would it be? What felt difficult one year ago that now feels easy (or easier)? Of the books I read this year, which was my favorite? How did I capture my thoughts and feelings? (journaling, writing, social media sharing, talking one-on-one with friends or family, etc.) Was that method helpful? Tomahawk Missionary Baptist Church's Podcast

Years ago there was a movie staring George Burns called I think “O God.” George Burns who was an old man at the time in his eighties I believe….was God who decided to come to earth and change the world through a grocery store clerk played by John Denver. It was borderline blasphemous. Why? Who do they think Jesus was? Can’t they read the Bible and see that God has already been here. He was born, He lived, He died for our sins as the innocent Lamb of God, and He rose from the grave in victory over sin, hell, death and the grave! He came as a real man. The God-man. All man, all God! Now he is not here physically but He left His Spirit to indwell the church. So He has never left His church!

Join Jonathan Bennett, David Biddix, and Rhonda Gunter, three of the contributors to the Footsteps for Freedom podcast, as they hold a roundtable discussion on the Battle of Kings Mountain and the Overmountain Men. The discussion will explore topics not featured in the regular program and also the three presenters will share their thoughts and opinions on their findings. There is a discussion of items not covered in the podcast plus trivia, and we close the discussion with a topic dangerous to most historians: a "what if" about the battle and those who fought it. The questions discussed include: What story or event sticks out in your mind the most? Who was your favorite character/historical figure involved in the King’s Mountain campaign? Why? Who was your least favorite character/historical figure involved in the King’s Mountain Campaign? Why? Given all the research you’ve done, what new fact did you learn that interested you the most? What do you think about the Tories? What do you think about the brutal civil war nature of the fighting that was a hallmark of the Revolution in the Southern Backcountry? Knowing these are real human beings with real human flaws is there anything in the Overmountain story that disappoints you? (Slavery and the treatment of the Native American tribes are obvious but besides that, Hanging the Tory prisoners at Biggerstaffs, Rumors that Ferguson’s corpse was desecrated, the efforts some of the officers took to discredit each other after the war, etc…) What is your favorite place to visit on the Overmountain Victory Trail? Why? Do you have a personal connection to the Overmountain story? Did you have an ancestors on the march? If so, who were they and what did they do? Despite centuries of research there are still mysteries left to solve about the war. What unanswered question about the American Revolution in the Carolina Mountains would you most like to see answered? (Possible answers: the fate of Mary Burchfield, Rutherford’s raid through the Toe River Valley in 1776, where was the southern route the Overmountain Men originally planned to take from Yellow Mountain before the deserters left? Etc…) Now let’s flex our historical imaginations a bit and discuss some alternate histories. If some key characters in the story took a different course of action, how would that have changed history? While we can never know for sure how these what ifs would have panned, I think it’s a useful exercise to think about just what was at stake. What if Dragging Canoe heeded the advice of the British and did not attack the Backcountry settlements in 1776 and instead waited until 1780 to coordinate with the British offensive that summer? What if Captain Shadrack Inman had not devised the plan that saved the Overmountain Men from disaster at Musgrove’s Mill? What if Ferguson had immediately marched over the mountains and attacked the Overmountain settlements in September 1780 instead of just threatening to do so? In addition, what if he succeeded in capturing the Chiswell lead mines as Campbell feared? What if the Overmountain Men responded differently to Ferguson’s threat, laid down their arms and swore allegiance to the King instead of continuing the rebellion? What if Ferguson took advantage of his head start and made it safely back into the lines of the main British Army under Cornwallis at Yorktown? What if Cornwallis received Ferguson’s messages in time and arrived at King’s Mountain in time to destroy the Patriot Army?

Who knows! They just did not feel like it! The guys get on a rant early in this one. The Mokuteki stops serving breakfast at 1000, and apparently that does not sit well with Joe! The guys also discuss celebrities and politics, Seans' "Painted Things" business, recent Netflix movies, and Jacob once again delves into the touchy subject of kids running wild on the streets, but not even the street he lives on! It's pretty funny! As a disclaimer, the comments and opinions on this podcast belong to each individual speaker and may not represent the opinion of the Well Kept Men of Misawa! これが「What if」です。

But God revealed them to us by the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. Why Who of the men knows the things of man, but the spirit of man What is in it? In an effort to get ahead, to get things done... Sometimes more often than not driven entrepreneurs like myself work late into the nights, weekends, etc. to make the most of our time. We do this for various reasons. Many would say they do it for their families, to create a better life, to have more time with them. But let’s not loose site of the present moment. Don’t miss the chance to share special moments with the ones closest to you while you are trying to make a life where you can spend more time together in the future. Yes, be diligent and disciplined with your time. Chose self improvement, study and implementation over things that don’t matter (like TV or social media). But DO remember WHY & WHO you are doing what you are doing this for... Don’t neglect them while you are on your quest for a better life together. You are still living life and they are part of it. I caught myself today (Sunday) on my way to the office to get ahead on some work. My wife and daughter where going for a bike ride in the park. I was about to get in the car and leave... My decision to delay work and join them filled my heart & mind with more joy & satisfaction then any work advancement today would have. It was a great family afternoon. I still went to work afterwards and made progress. But as far as life goes, I made a difference not because of the work I did today, but because of the husband & father I was today... and I loved it!

How many of us are tired of the slick marketing and false advertising of commercial church? How many don't have time to go through the motions anymore? The church's answer to leprosy has always been to put the leper outside the church/city. This was true in the Bible and it's true now. Drugs, adultery, addiction to porn, etc - these things happen in the church today, but if you ask people how they are doing, you will get the "oh I'm good, we're all good" answer. So many put on the mask and an act on Sunday when they are falling apart. Why? Who are we trying to impress? We have to be like the leper who approached Jesus and asked to be healed. He wasn't afraid of his mess and Jesus wasn't either. We think we have committed unforgiveable sins, but the only unforgiveable sin is an ongoing rejection of Jesus. Our church has to be a place where people can bring their ugliness and their brokenness and we meet them exactly where they are - just as Jesus did. James 5:16 says to confess our sin so that we can be healed. If you look throughout the gospels, Jesus saved his criticism for the religious people, not for the sinners. We can be bound up by the destructive force of shame, but if we look at the people God used to do amazing things, many of them had really messed up and sinned. Our bodies were not designed to carry shame and it starts to break down our lives - our minds, our souls, our bodies - so that we can't do what God has for us to do. It's then that we need to remember Jesus paid it all so we don't have to. Knowledge doesn't solve everything and God doesn't expect perfection from us, but we shouldn't lower our expectations or stop trying to be like our Father. We just have to remember we need His help and can't do it in our own power or works. As imperfect people, we can share about a perfect Jesus and impact the lives of those around us. Satan will remind us of what we have done and we can remind him of what Jesus has done! As we read our Bibles and pray, our heart should be to come to know God, not just to check a box, to please Him, or try to attain righteousness through our actions. It's how we will come to know our worth so that we can find freedom. As we close, ask yourself, are you willing to go after your freedom, your righteousness that Jesus already gave and not accept anything less? Amen!

On April 8, 1994, an electrician looking to install a security system at Kurt Cobain's Seattle, WA residence saw what he thought was a mannequin through a greenhouse window. Upon further inspection, he came to regard the figure as a human being, and a few minutes later, unknowingly made one of the most profoundly disturbing discoveries in rock-n-roll history. Kurt Cobain, the heralded lead singer and creative force behind Nirvana, was dead. He was found in his greenhouse with a shotgun and a stash of heroin nearby, so Cobain's death was initially ruled a suicide. Immediately, the news of Kurt Cobain's death set off shockwaves in the music world. He was very often considered a premiere voice in the Grunge movement, and Nirvana was one of the cornerstones of the Seattle sound (along with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice-in-Chains). There were public outpourings of emotion in Seattle, and several copycat suicides occurred in the days following news of Cobain's death. In the midst of all this, Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, had hired a PI named Tom Grant to track down her husband, who had fled from drug rehab in LA several days before. After news of Cobain's death reached him, Grant gradually became convinced that Cobain had not, in fact, killed himself but had been murdered. He was concerned with several details that didn't seem to add up, and so he began a decades-long push to get Kurt Cobain's death to be re-investigated. A few pieces of evidence are always cited when presenting Cobain's death as a potential murder. First of all, there's the fact that one of Kurt Cobain's credit cards was used in the hours following his death, before his body was discovered. Then there's the amount of heroin in his system. (He had nearly three times a normal fatal dose in his system.) There's the lack of fingerprints on any item in the greenhouse. There's the weird shenanigans involving Courtney, Dylan Carlson, and a guy named Cali in the days leading up to Cobain's death. Building a case from all of the disparate pieces of evidence, though, always struck me as bizarre. Nothing ever plays out like a TV show. Even in clear-cut suicide cases, some threads never quite get tied up, so how can you tie them all together, if you're only doing so to prop up your already-reached conclusion. This podcast episode explores the issue from the inside out. First, I start with the proposition that, Okay, Kurt Cobain was murdered. Why? Who benefits? For me, the issue becomes transparent when you take all of these issues at face value. Hope you enjoy, and I'll be back with a new one soon.

36:CD Podcast Episode: Emotional Triggers: What They Are & What To Do About Them What Triggers YOU? I can’t stand gum. In fact, I think it’s disgusting. I know I’m in the minority, but when I see someone chomping on “their cud”, it triggers me and I think all sorts of awful things. Why? Who knows? I used to chew gum as a child…there really isn’t anything wrong with […] CommunicationDiva.com Related posts: 28:CD Podcast Episode: How to Be Assertive! 33: CD Podcast Episode: Outside the Box: Gifted and At-Risk Youth 30: CD Podcast Episode: 9 Words Women Use (A Tongue-in-Cheek Look at Meaning)

Want some podcast? Have some! This week the team talks about Kane and Lynch 2, Dead to Rights: Retribution, Indie games and Arcades. And it's all opened with an impromptu little ditty by music man Mike. Why? Who knows?

AJAM (The Adam Jon & Mitch Show)

Tonight we reach our 120th episode and we pretty much used it up talking about mostly two things. Why? Who knows? We just started talking and a show was born. Well the show this week end up being about mostly nothing but golf and American Idol. In the golf world we were discussing the excitement surrounding Tigers win today(Sunday) and then it went from there to talking about the Masters upcoming and really just a variety of golf related topics from there. After that we did talk about American Idol and the possibility that they have extended the Beatles week to one more week. Well, at least that is the impression that we were given when the show left us last week. Even though the weakest performance did not get voted off this past week. I still believe that the voters made a good choice in choosing Hernandez to be voted off. You really could have gone with either him or Kristy Lee Cook and been justified. The only good reason I can see for keeping Kristy around for at least one more week is for the eye candy. I do think that as far as the bottom three went this week I would have replaced Syesha with Ramielle. Oh well, there is my two cents worth. Send us your comments. ajamshow@gmail.com
