OTO032 Das Sterblichkeitsparadoxon (3x03) Mortality Paradox 

Sicherheitschefin Talla Keyali kehrt von einem Heimaturlaub auf Xelaya auf die Orville zurück. Sie meldet Commander Grayson, dass es eine schwache Kaylon-Quantensignatur in der Nähe des Avior-Systems gebe. Wenig später entdeckt Isaac auf dem eigentlich leblosen Planeten Narran 1 überraschend eine hoch entwickelte Bevölkerung. Dort angekommen, registrieren die Sensoren der Orville industrielle Energiequellen und Transportnetzwerke. Captain Mercer beschließt daraufhin, mit einem Außenteam auf den Planeten zu fliegen, um der Sache auf den Grund zu gehen. Als das Außenteam, bestehend aus Ed Mercer, Kelly Grayson, Gordon Malloy, Bortus und Talla Keyali, die nähere Umgebung des Landeplatzes erkundet, entdeckt es ein Gebäude, das einer irdischen Highschool des 21. Jahrhunderts ähnelt. Dort geraten sie in Schwierigkeiten mit Schlägern und einem Troll auf dem Footballfeld. Plötzlich befinden sie sich in einem Flugzeug. Die Crew ist von der Außenwelt abgeschnitten und springt von einem Szenario in das nächste, wobei diese alle gemeinsam haben, dass es sich um Angstphantasien von jemandem des Außenteams handelt und dass sie potenziell gefährlich sind. Währenddessen versuchen Isaac und LaMarr vergeblich, Kontakt mit der gestrandeten Crew aufzunehmen. Ein zweiter Landetrupp wird losgeschickt. Viel hin und her, Transmitter zerstört, Orville wiedergefunden, Sache an Bord geklärt, Kaylons gefunden und plötzlich Überraschung: Talla war die ganze Zeit nicht echt, sondern kommt erst jetzt aus dem Urlaub zurück. Die falsche Talla entpuppt sich als Angehörige der Spezies aus Episode 1x12 'Gotteskult'. Diese Spezies ist inzwischen so weit entwickelt, dass sie unsterblich ist und in der Lage, Realitäten zu erschaffen. All das war ihre Art der Studie der Sterblichkeit unserer Orville-Crew.

OTO028 Der andere Weg (2x14) The Road not taken Discord! -> [https://discord.gg/NyhMMwhguG] Nach der letzten Episode hat sich durch Kellys Wissen alles verändert. Ed ist nicht Captain der Orville geworden und hat somit den Angriff der Kaylons nicht verhindert, die nun fast alles beherrschen. Gordon und Ed werden in ihrem Shuttle von Kelly aufgenommen, die ihr eigenes Schiff kommandiert. Sie hat Claire, Talla und John gefunden und will nun gemeinsam die andere Zeitlinie wiederherstellen, weil sie diese für besser hält. Dazu holen sie mit vielen Schwierigkeiten die Orville aus der zerstörten Erde, finden Bortus und gelangen an Isaacs Speicherdaten. Damit haben sie alle Informationen, die sie brauchen, um Claire in die Vergangenheit zu schicken und die Gedächtnislöschung der letzten Episode korrekt zu wiederholen. Es funktioniert und die ursprüngliche Zeitlinie wird erfolgreich wiederhergestellt.

Topa, der Sohn von Bortus und Klyden, benimmt sich überheblich und unfair in der Schule gegenüber einer Mitschülerin. Klyden hatte Topa beigebracht, dass weibliche Wesen weniger wert seien, sehr zum Unwillen von Bortus. Zwei Moclans reisen auf der Orville als Passagiere mit: Toren und Korick. Sie scheinen verschwiegen und es stellt sich heraus, dass sie ein Moclan-Baby bei sich haben. Bortus hilft bei der Geheimhaltung vor dem Rest der Crew, denn es handelt sich um ein weibliches Baby. Er nutzt die Gelegenheit, seinem Sohn Topa beizubringen, dass es weibliche Moclans gibt und dass sie genau so wertvoll wie männliche sind. Nachdem die Moclans die Orville verlassen haben, findet Ed durch Umwege über Topa heraus, dass eine blinde Passagierin an Bord der Orville war. Sie nehmen die Verfolgung auf und entdecken eine geheime Kolonie in einem Nebel, die aus sechstausend weiblichen Moclans besteht. Ihre Anführerin ist Heveena, die eine weibliche Moclan, die der Orville-Crew einst begegnet ist. Daraus entwickelt sich ein politisches Wagnis, denn die männlichen Moclans wollen die Existenz von weiblichen Moclans geheimhalten, die Moclans wollen Anerkennung und die Union will, dass niemand stirbt. Heveena findet in Dolly Parton die Stimme ihrer Revolution. Druckmittel der männlichen Moclans ist ihre Waffentechnik, durch die die Orville bereits am Anfang der Episode beträchtlich verstärkt wurde. Ein Moclan-Schiff bedroht die Kolonie, auf den Ausgang der Verhandlung wartend. Admiral Halsey schafft es jedoch, einen Kompromiss herzustellen: die Kolonie nimmt keine weiteren Moclans mehr auf, dafür stellen die männlichen Moclans die Feindseligkeiten gegen sie ein. Heveena hat das Gefühl, dass dies der Beginn ihrer Revolution ist. Zum Ende sieht Bortus Topa mit seinen Mitschülerinnen zufrieden spielen - und lächelt.

OTO021 Deflektoren (2x07) Deflectors Der Moclan und Ingenieur Locar kommt auf die Orville, um bei der Arbeit an Deflektoren zu helfen. Locar war einst der _kodashik_ von Bortus, ist also sein Ex-Freund. Locar arbeitet mit Talla zusammen und fühlt sich zu ihr hingezogen, was unter Moclans nicht nur unüblich, sondern verboten ist. Beide kommen sich im Umweltsimulator näher, bevor Locar seltsamerweise vom Schiff verschwindet. Die Aufzeichnungen vom Simulator zeigen, dass er getötet wurde, anscheinend von Klyden. Genauere Untersuchungen verraten, dass der Tod vorgetäuscht war. Weil Klyden ihn aufgedeckt hätte, hätte er Selbstmord begehen müssen, was ebenfalls ein Verbrechen auf Moclus ist und seine Familie in Ungnade geworfen hätte. OTO019 Erstkontakt (2x05) All the World is Birthday Cake In den Vorbereitungen zum Geburtstag von Kelly und Bortus empfängt die Orville eine Nachricht aus dem Weltraum: Ist da jemand? Zudem hat die Orville mit Lt. Talla Keyali eine neue Sicherheitsoffizierin bekommen, auch Xelayanerin. Sie fliegen zum Ursprung des Signals, dem Planeten Regor 2. Dessen Bewohner sind den Menschen sehr ähnlich und haben nach Leben im All gesucht. Als das Empfangskommitee inklusive Ed auf dem Planeten an einem Dinner teilnimmt, werden plötzlich Kelly und Bortus gefangengenommen und in ein Straflager gesteckt. Es stellt sich heraus, dass Regorianer an Sternzeichen glauben und grundsätzlich alle einsperren, die in einem bestimmten Monat Geburtstag haben. Auf der Orville finden die schlauen Offiziere letztlich eine gewaltfreie Lösung, Kelly und Bortus zu befreien, indem sie dem gesamten Planeten ein anderes Sternenbild vortäuschen.

Bortus et Klyden veulent que leur enfant femelle soit opérée pour changer de sexe, comme il est coutume de le faire chez les Moclains. Claire refuse, et Ed refuse d'ordonner à Claire de le faire. Les deux Moclain appellent un vaisseau Moclain pour venir chercher leur enfant, mais avant son arrivée, Bortus change d'avis grâce au film d'animation "Rudolph le renne au nez rouge". 

In dieser Bortus-Folge geht es um zwei parallele Handlungsstränge, die wieder ineinandergreifen. Als Nebenstrang befindet sich die Orville in der Nähe einer Sonne, die gerade einen Planeten verzehrt. Dort befindet sich wider Erwarten unterirdisches Leben. Von den 75 Bewohnern können immerhin 30 von Bortus und Isaac in einer riskanten Rettungsaktion auf die Orville geschafft werden. Der Hauptstrang ist die Beziehung der beiden Moclans Bortus und Klyden. Bortus geht früher von der Arbeit, allerdings nicht zu Klyden, sondern in den Simulator, wo er Sex-Fantasien auslebt. Klyden weiß da zwar anfangs nichts von, merkt aber, dass die Beziehung ihm nicht mehr reicht. Er vollzieht die Scheidung nach Moclan-Art, nämlich indem er Bortus einen Dolch in die Brust sticht. Claire rettet ihn und beide gehen in Paartherapie bei ihr. Bortus versucht so lange, sich herauszureden, bis Klyden ihn im Simulator ertappt, wonach sie endlich das Problem angehen. Bortus bringt das gesamte Schiff in Gefahr, da eine seiner Simulationen einen Virus enthält, der das Schiff beinahe in die Sonne hätte fliegen lassen. Bortus gibt an, dass er Schwierigkeiten hat seit der Prozedur, die ihr Kind Topa männlich gemacht hat, und verspricht, dass er darüber hinwegkommen will. Klyden ist einverstanden. Gerade noch kann sowohl die Orville als auch die Beziehung von Klyden und Bortus gerettet werden.

Tread Perilously takes its annual look at The Orville with "Sanctuary." When the Orville takes on two Moclan passengers, Bortus learns they are harboring an infant female. Soon, he assists them in their escape from the law against female Moclans on their home planet. When Captain Mercer finds out, he leads the ship into a nebula and discovers an entire colony of female Moclans. Now discovered, their leader Heveena plans to move their entire group, but Mercer suggests taking their plight to the Union Counsel and apply to be recognized as an independent world. And while the Orville remains in orbit over the colony to defend it from a Moclan ship, the Union worlds debate the issue of their sovereignty. Also: Dolly Parton is the voice of the revolution. Erik immediately gets distracted by the surprising guest cast and the show's expanded connections to Star Trek: The Next Generation -- including episode director Jonathan Frakes! Justin notes some of the ways The Orville hits on subjects TNG was squeamish about. He also explains Moclan biology and society. Erik names one character "Alexander Rozhenko" and admits to getting distracted by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s very handsome Agent Keller. Sci-fi aliens get an examination and Erik expresses his worries about Star Trek: Picard.
