Since Kylie Jenner pouted her way into our beauty consciousness, dermal fillers have been hugely on the rise, and there have arguably been more filler faux pas than with any other aesthetic treatments. So, it's little wonder that Salima (joining me again today) goes a bit green around the gills at the thought of ending up with a puffer fish face. Think of this episode as your filler fact files: everything you need to know about these rejuvenation injectables, from the art of application, to how long they last, their side effects, and why trying to look like J Lo will almost certainly blow up for you. She is the founder of the Cleanse, Heal, Ignite Ministry, specializes in Detoxification + Healing the Gut from Toxins & Trauma and is the most sought after health practitioner in Orange County, CA, entrusted by well-respected doctors and their patients using her ‘Food and Herbs as Medicine' approach…AND beyond that into Lifestyle AND Mindset, which is what is mostly missing today in the wellness industry. Diane also is trained and certified to use labs when necessary, that seek to identify clues and healing opportunities that if overlooked might otherwise progress into a disease, which we aim to PREVENT. The difference? = Preventative healing and ancient ‘medicine' vs reactionary medicine. Modern doctors are not trained in this way, and as such do not run the same labs we do; rather they use diagnostics to determine IF a disease is already present, and their solution is a prescription, procedure or surgery. For 14 years Diane has mastered the skills of ‘treating the person' and how they're feeling, even when labs are inconclusive. In a world where doctors are trained to treat the lab results, rather than seek to understand the patient, no one will truly heal. A MAJOR fail in modern medicine.

Historically used for diabetes, Ozempic and Wegovy are now wildly popular for weight loss. But with substantial weight loss comes volume loss, which needs cosmetic treatment. While injectable fillers can restore shape and volume in the face, laxity in the neck and jawline from weight loss can call for energy treatments, and in more extreme cases, face and neck lift surgery. Listen to learn how glucagon-like peptides work as a weight loss treatment and whether the pros of losing weight outweigh the cons of the skin laxity it causes. About Dr. Lawrence Bass Innovator. Dr Rosemary Coleman, Consultant Dermatologist, on risky cosmetic treatments
Our obsession with keeping up appearances is nothing new, but we're officially in a "compare and despair" era now. Humanity's fixation on the beauty industry, which is estimated to be worth $800 billion by 2025, has brought us to a point where aesthetic standards have the power to completely shape our inner worth. If our emotional, mental and spiritual well-being suffocates for the sake of maintaining a glamorous facade, what's the real cost? It's time to go beneath the surface — and we don't mean botox (but we're pro-botox, too). We're transcending the shallow definition of beauty and exploring the interconnectedness of inner and outer radiance.Co-hosts Megan Lund and Ryan Marquardt embark on a captivating conversation with Mikaela MacLean, an Auric Aesthetician and founder of Energetic Aesthetics & Beauty Sleep Reiki. Mikaela focused on physical healing for 20+ years as a medical aesthetician, and now she's working with spiritual healing modalities, bringing her energetic gifts and wisdom the material world. She's become a powerful voice in the realm of holistic beauty and opens up in this episode about the delicate balance between materiality and spirituality. This episode aims to help you redefine beauty as an energetic expression of the soul, one that goes beyond our conditioning, capitalistic pressures, and social media expectations. The liberating truth is that beauty isn't merely a superficial concept. It isn't found in the aisles of a department store, or sitting in a salon chair, or hiding under a surgeon's scalpel. It resides within you, ready to be expressed so you can project yourself out into the world as the purest, most badass version of yourself. Mikaela MacLean is the founder and creator of Energetic Aesthetics & Beauty Sleep Reiki, as well as the host of the podcast, BEAUTY BY DESIGN. Following her extensive background as a medical aesthetician, Mikaela now artfully blends an unconventional mélange of healing modalities including Aesthetics, Human Design, Astrology, Yoga Nidra, meditation, Reiki and more. As an educator, she brings her unique synthesis of these methods to the Aesthetics community, helping them elevate their careers by moving beyond the status quo for the greatest benefit of their patients & clients. On this episode of Curated Beauty, Jessica opens up about her recent trip to Texas, including who she met, what she learned, and the beverage she discovered and can't wait to share with friends. She was invited on this trip by Allergan Medical Institute to train on the newest, FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler called Volux XC. This is intended to be used on the jawline to provide a contoured and defined look. Using a firm product with high G prime that sticks together has some seriously magical properties. Injectors need to get training to see how it integrates and how it looks for themselves. During her visit, she had two hands-on training sessions back-to-back. There was a huge focus on education, science, and data. For the third program of the day, they had a roundtable discussion at a steakhouse. They talked about business, educating patients, and relationship building. A short time later, at another place, Jessica learned about Ranch Water. Haven't heard of it? It's a cocktail including topo chico, a blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and tajin on the rim of the glass. This cocktail was truly invented by ranchers who wanted a spirited drink to enjoy after they ended their hard work days. Eventually it caught on, and you can find it at plenty of establishments, each offering their own personal twist. The whole visiting experience was incredibly warm and welcoming. Even though she was far away from home, she felt comfortable and can't wait to go back. It also reinforced her appreciation for education in the industry. Making important information easier to access is what it's all about, and a big reason why this podcast exists.
Dermal fillers are one of the most popular and asked for cosmetic treatments in the U.S., and for good reason. These products can do a lot to help restore volume loss, correct signs of aging, and help define structures of the face. It's like adding a little air to a balloon to fill it back up! But if dermal fillers have you concerned about an overblown or unnatural look, rest assured that when done with small volumes and placed correctly, the results are nothing but natural and beautiful! There are several types of dermal fillers on the market today including the most common hyauronic acid fillers, as well as fat grafting, poly-L-lactic-acid, and calcium hydroxylapatite to name some common ones. Listen in as I discuss all things dermal fillers and how and where we use them.

In today's episode, we're doing a deep dive into the world of dermal fillers. There are many FDA-approved dermal fillers available at medical spas, including the Juvederm family, Restylane family, RHA collection, and more. Not all dermal fillers are created the same. There are fillers made with hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA, Belotero, Revanesse Versa), calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), poly-l-lactic acid (Sculptra), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) (Bellafill), and autologous fat (Renuva). They all have different characteristics and have been created to restore volume, balance the face, and provide a more natural and rested look. Join us in today's episode as we talk about the science behind dermal fillers, the difference between the FDA-approved dermal fillers currently available, and how we feel about them as licensed naturopathic doctors. In this latest podcast, listen to Dr Helena Rosengren's expert advice for delivering dermal fillers in primary care, including how to get started, which concerns can be treated, and how to handle adverse events and other challenges when starting out. In the podcast, Dr Rosengren discusses the patient demand for cosmetic injectables, specifically dermal fillers, and which patients she typically treats with dermal fillers in her own primary care cosmetic clinic. She explains the types of concerns these treatments can be used for and the patients who are the best candidates (plus the patients she would avoid treating!). Dr Rosengren walks through how she conducts a skin consultation with patients requesting dermal fillers and how she plans out their treatment, including what's involved in the initial consultation. The podcast also explores adverse events that a practitioner should be aware of before performing dermal fillers on a patient and how to identify when a patient has had “enough” dermal filler. Dr Rosengren provides her experts tips on how practitioners can achieve a more natural and subtle look, rather than the dreaded “over-filled” look, along with her advice for how to start out offering this service in your primary care or cosmetic clinic, including how to set up the services to run efficiently and how to market treatments to patients. Lastly, Dr Rosengren takes us through some of the challenges a practitioner might encounter when starting out and provides her advice for overcoming those challenges.

She helped train for Allergan in Arizona during her early years and even though she switched career paths to Urgent Care she always continued injecting for friends and family. After starting Agenacare Housecalls, clients kept requesting aesthetics be added to the practice. We started working behind the scenes and developed Agenacare Aesthetics, an exclusive club that allows membership options built to fit every client.
Welcome to our first SLAP (Stupid Laws and Policies) Segment! We'll bring you shows about absurd legal statutes- past, present and in-legislature. No corner of America is immune! On today's show, we discuss Arizona Senate Bill 1074, which was signed into law during the 2022 legislative session. This statute expands the scope of dental practice to include the administration of botox and dermal fillers for aesthetic reasons. Why is it stupid? No obvious stakeholders' meetings were held, to include doctors and nurses who work in this arena. Thus, eliminating input and valuable insight. But mostly, it appears to be a back-door, covert deal. With thousands of laws fighting to be dropped into the hopper every legislative session and only 100 or so passing, THIS is what made it through every hurdle along the way? We have inflation, employment issues, a housing crisis, rent increases, landlord greed, gas gouging, infrastructure issues, hundreds of people moving into Maricopa County every day, a border disaster, human trafficking, homelessness, opioids, a drought and subsequent impending energy crisis… and THIS is what the Arizona legislature deems to be a priority. For more information: Instagram: kulture_aesthetics jailbreakpodcast.com Facebook: facebook.com/jailbreakpodcast Instagram: @jailbreakpodcast

It's those little cells. So what we're doing is attracting a whole bunch of them to the area. But since there's not a big wound cut open by a knife, they deposit a bunch of collagen which just increases the collagen in our skin that we've lost and helps with anti-aging.” ”If they have severe hair loss and a higher budget, do it all because you're going to get more. One plus one always equals three in the aesthetics.” GUEST RESOURCES: Learn more about Dr. Ann Watwood and her practice at clearskininstitute.com IG | @clearskininstitute Youtube | @ClearskinLaser Listen to the “What Would Larry Do” podcast on Apple, Spotify, and all major streaming platforms PRODUCTS / RESOURCES: Follow Dr. Jen Haley on Instagram @drjenhaley - instagram.com/drjenhaley Visit her website at drjenhaley.com Book a consultation with Dr. Haley here: dermoncall.net/jhaley BiOptimizers formulates amazing magnesium and gut supplements. I truly believe that how we feel about ourselves impacts on our sexual confidence and that's why I was very interested in reading Beautiful Unique Faces. I also wanted to understand why women (particularly people in reality TV shows), decide to have their lips and cheeks overdone. I just don't get it! The book does explain this to me and now I feel compassion for those women. This episode is for everyone and anyone. Particularly those who are considering having cosmetic procedures such as botox and dermal fillers. I had the good fortune to speak with Anita East, author of Beautiful Unique Faces. Anita is a professional actress turned nurse practitioner in the cosmetic medicine industry. In this episode, we touch on multiple topics that Anita covers in her book. Oxytocin is troll bait Strategies to change your mindset and tap into your inner power of practice, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Princesses and Queens The secret knowledge that lives within us, that we can only find when we stop paying attention to external factors. 'Earn the right to sing' Comparing yourself to others And you know what? If ever you have doubts about your beauty, read this book. You will then realise that you ARE beautiful. For years, aspirating has been a hotly debated topic in medical aesthetics with virtually nobody sitting on both sides of the fence. You're either passionate about it or you're passionate about not aspirating because you don't believe there is any evidence to support it.It's a complex topic because in certain scenarios both sides of the camp are correct. And what Dr Tim Pearce and Miranda Pearce do in this podcast is explore the issue in more depth. On Monday 8th July, the nation got to witness Dr Tim being stabbed LIVE in the name of medical science, where he was testing how different Dermal Fillers affect an Aspiration.Link to the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2345625765678300/

It seems that facial cosmetic surgery has finally reached a tipping point where aesthetic surgeons can not only turn back the clock for many patients, but with new innovations recently discussed with Aesthetic Insider™ Radio, they can also possibly prevent a patient from going under the knife for years to come. Kian Karimi, MD, a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who practices at Rejuva Medical Aesthetics in Los Angeles, CA recently developed the NovaSculpt technique which is showing great promise in facial age reversal and youth retention. NovaSculpt uses a combination of PDO Threads and Dermal Fillers to lift and soften tissue, giving the patient an almost immediate youthful look. PDO Threads (Polydioxanone) have gained popularity recently as a stand-alone procedure, and now with this new technique, Novasculpt is defining its own unique space within non-surgical facial aesthetic treatments. Aesthetic medicine is an industry that combines art and science. It’s helping people by addressing concerns like collagen loss, bone structure atrophy and loss of jaw definition. What are the biggest trends and most popular procedures and products? This week we talk to Family Nurse Practitioner and Founder of Radiant MedSpa & Wellness, Alison Woodworth. Three Takeaways Each year, we lose 1% of the collagen in our face after age 20. The results of losing collagen include a loss in facial volume, atrophy of fat pads in your cheeks and bone structure. The point of using neuromodulators like Botox, Xiamen and Dysport is removing wrinkles, not removing facial movement. At the top of the show, we got some background on Alison and her path to her career in aesthetic medicine and age management. In terms of the breakdown of her patients, it is 80% women and 20% men, but the number of men continues to increase. Men are interested in procedures like dermal fillers that help to improve the jawline by sharpening it or replacing lost volume. Next, we discussed neuromodulators like Botox. They are used to control the effects of muscular activity in the face, which lead to creasing and wrinkles. Botox works to relax the muscle groups, and is something that can even be employed to prevent the onset of wrinkles. Alison said, “If you try to start after the fact, it takes a lot longer for the crease to go away.” Alison also shared on other neuromodulators, Xiamen and Dysport. What the right one for you? She says patients have found Dysport to work faster and not be as stiff as Botox so it allows you to maintain natural facial expression. “The point isn’t to have no facial movement, it’s to have no wrinkles.” We went onto to discuss dermal fillers and how they combat the yearly loss of 1% of collagen from 20, pain control and what your practitioner has to do with it. Towards the end of the show we talked about a new molecule that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat under the chin, HRT for women and the overprescribing issue in the medical industry right now. Our facial expressions form lines, creases and wrinkles, and this paired with the loss of facial collagen causes bone and fat pad atrophy. Neuromodulators like Botox, Xiamen and Dysport relax very specific muscle groups and can be employed to sculpt the face again. Derma fillers are also effective in controlling the effects of skin aging. These procedures are meant to enhance natural beauty and masculinity, not leave your face looking stiff. Remember, if someone can point out the work you’ve had done, it’s not good work. A conversation between Robert Goldberg, MD, and Roger Dailey, MD, FACS. Since the FDA approved Restylane in 2003, the popularity of dermal fillers has grown steadily. As the use of such fillers increases, the likelihood a clinician may face an associated complication is also higher. Dr. Roger Dailey of the Oregon Health and Science University shares his approach for preventing and addressing these complications, which include granulomas, infections, and the most worrisome, vascular necrosis.
