“Why did Walt Disney borrow against his life insurance—and what does that have to do with a pink pistol, a serial butt slapper, and a college freshman named Larry?” In this wildly entertaining and insight-packed episode, Kent Hance weaves together stories that span from the moon landing to Mickey Mouse, from late-night TV to freshman orientation at Texas Tech.

This weekend Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away kicked off its inaugural run with two nights of dress rehearsals and an opening on Sunday. This new parade, long awaited and hoped for by Walt Disney World fans is simply magical. It's not perfect, but it's simply beautiful and is what has been needed for so long since its ancestors, The Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic had long parted. We visit this parade and talk all the details of what makes it work--and at times, not so perfectly work. It's a must-see event at Walt Disney World and a welcome tradition for years to come. And my belief is, that it will only get better over time. Why Clarity, Not Confidence, Is the Key to Your Next Level This week on She Talks Business, I'm joined by the extraordinary Nick Nanton—someone who's built a career on doing work that only he can do. Nick is a 22-time Emmy Award–winning director and producer who has created more than 60 documentaries and worked with some of the most iconic names in the world—think Richard Branson, Tony Robbins, Larry King, Magic Johnson, Dolly Parton, and more. His films have streamed on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and have even taken us into the heart of human trafficking raids in Haiti. He's also a bestselling author, gold record-earning songwriter, and host of the docuseries In Case You Didn't Know. But today's conversation isn't about celebrity. It's about clarity. We dig into the mindset behind Nick's success, the self-doubt he's faced, the comparison traps he's escaped, and how he's learned to identify and operate from what Dan Sullivan calls a “unique ability.” This concept from Dan is something we both operate our business and structure our time with this in mind. If you've ever wondered whether you're good enough, ready enough, or "doing it right," this episode is for you. Dealing With Imposter Syndrome At The Top Yes, even people with 22 Emmys have moments where they wonder if they belong. Nick shares how imposter syndrome has followed him into rooms filled with billionaires and why reframing those moments has been essential to his growth. You'll hear how that shift can quiet the noise and help you step fully into your own potential. Tune Out The Comparison Gene We all do it—scrolling, spiraling, stacking ourselves up against someone else's highlight reel. This part of the conversation is a refreshing reminder that comparison isn't just unproductive, it's often a complete illusion. If you've been feeling behind, this will help you realign and reset. Tune Into Your Unique Ability What are you world-class at? Nick and I talk about the Dan Sullivan concept of “unique ability”—the zone where your passion, skill, and natural genius collide—and how it takes time to tune in and prioritize it as you grow your business. Nick shares how identifying his unique ability helped him stop chasing opportunities that didn't fit, and start building a business around what only he can do. Whether you're leading a brand, running a business, or simply trying to get clear on your next step, this episode is a reminder that you already have everything you need. You don't have to be everything to everyone. You just have to know what's uniquely yours and be brave enough to start with what you know, your experience, and then build from there. What's In This Episode Moving beyond celebrity to focus on excellence and skills Approach to interviews: creating space for vulnerability and authentic conversations Creating valuable, enjoyable experiences for clients and collaborators The importance of sharing foundational knowledge and starting “at the beginning” Common hangups in personal branding (impostor syndrome, undervaluing personal gifts) Navigating creative industries: knowing your place and supplementing with experts The importance of self-awareness in professional growth Opportunities and challenges of integrating AI in filmmaking, songwriting, and business What To Do Next Visit lisalarter.com/e187 for all resources from this episode.

Does it get any more '80s than Flashdance? Luminous Jennifer Beals is a welder by day who dances at a bar by night, but must conquer imposter syndrome to achieve her ballerina dreams. It's sort of a music video-esque Disney musical crossed with an inspirational sports drama (a la Rocky or Rudy), yet somehow Javi and Paul had never seen it, much to Producer Brad's amusement. Join them in a world made of steel, made of stone (aka Pittsburgh) as they bask in the glory of Giorgio Morodor's memorable music, wrestle with the film's male-gaze-fantasy-meets-aspirational-female-empowerment dichotomy, and get pleasantly sucker-punched by this surprisingly sweet fairy tale about having faith in oneself (and dancing like you've never danced before). And did we mention it's from the future director of Fatal Attraction, future screenwriter of Basic Instinct (and Showgirls), and action impresario Jerry Bruckheimer? (And is that Cynthia Rhodes playing her same character from Staying Alive?) So, sit back, relax, and join us as we discover our Disney Character Connections!
The mean streets of Chicago is the setting for the latest episode of the TV Junk Podcast. Greg, Dax and Nuno chat Disney+'s Ironheart. They breakdown each episode and discuss the likability of RiRi Williams, the Hood's terrible gang, what happened to Eric Andre, gross meals at American fast food chains and, of course, Trevor. They also hand out superlatives. Check it out at the link below or download and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Pods and Spotify.

We're throwing on our festive gear and stepping into the holiday spotlight to answer one big question—which Disney after-hours party is the best of the season? Is it the spooky fun of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the cozy charm of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, or the retro glitz of Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios? We're going head-to-head-to-head as we break these parties down across multiple categories—everything from entertainment and character sightings to food, vibes, crowd levels, and overall value. We're each casting our votes in every round, sharing our thoughts (and probably disagreeing a few times), and by the end, we're crowning our pick for the top Disney holiday party of the year.If we're being honest, we know some of you are debating which one to attend—and some of you are just planning to hit all three. We're both out of town but never far away from you at Breakfast All Day. This week, we begin with a review of Ari Aster's latest, "Eddington," which takes us back to the tumultuous summer of 2020 between the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests. Aster follows up 2023's "Beau Is Afraid" with another nightmarish exploration of our current times, placing Joaquin Phoenix at the center once again. This one was designed to be divisive. In theaters now. Then for something a little sweeter, it was Alonso's turn to pick a movie he loved from childhood for the latest round of our favorite game: Was It Great or Were You 8? This time, he chose the 1976 Disney live-action comedy "No Deposit, No Return," starring Don Knotts, David Niven and a pre-Real Housewives Kim Richards. Christy had never even heard of this movie. Have you seen it? Finally, we did a LIVE spoiler chat about "Superman," now that the movie has been out for a week. We had a great turnout, especially given that it's a summer Friday. Apologies in advance for the audio issues toward the end: We both froze and couldn't hear each other, so we wrapped up quickly. Keep an eye out for our review of "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" early next week. Thanks for sharing some of your time with us! In this episode of "Normal World," Dave Landau, 1/4 Black Garrett, and Angela sit down with James O'Keefe to unpack his undercover dating sting targeting Disney executives. O'Keefe shares footage from "American Swiper," where hidden cameras caught a senior Disney official allegedly admitting to Disney's unethical hiring practices. He opens up about the legal fallout, FBI raids, and betrayals that followed — including being ousted from the very organization he built. The group discusses the dangers of investigative journalism, the economics of truth-telling, and the growing difficulty of trusting institutions. They also dive into his latest exposés involving Johnson & Johnson and the FBI's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. O'Keefe explains how ego, power, and denial fuel confessions on camera and why even undeniable footage is often dismissed. In a world filled with redactions and rewritten narratives, he argues the truth still finds a way — if people are brave enough to speak it. Today's guest on "Normal World" is James O'Keefe, founder of Project Veritas and current CEO of O'Keefe Media Group and Citizen Journalism Foundation, as well as the author of "Breakthrough" and "American Muckraker." Sarah went camping with her family and it was predictably calamitous in the best way possible. We hear why kids don't ride bikes anymore, parents are chauffeurs, and why it matters. We talk about how much camp meant to Sarah growing up and then as a counselor, and we lament that tragedy in Texas at the Christian camp. Sarah explains why customer service is so bad now, why you shouldn't accept it, and what you can do about it. Plus, she describes a genius way we can band together and combat the "sludge" of customer service quagmires.0:29 - Sarah's planning something romantic.5:12 - The Rice family's calamitous camping trip.16:51 - Article: Kids are missing out on things we used to do all the time. 28:58 - Wes Bergmann told Sarah....30:42 - Susie and Sarah discuss the tragic Texas floods. 38:13 - They do it on purpose!
