U.S. President Joe Biden rejected a bid from Nippon Steel to acquire U.S. Steel, citing national security concerns. This decision escalated trade tensions with Japan. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken visited Tokyo to address these tensions, while Nippon Steel and U.S. Steel filed a federal lawsuit against the ruling. Japanese leadership expressed disappointment, viewing the rejection as a betrayal amidst previous U.S. calls for increased trade and investment. Concerns emerged regarding potential negative impacts on Japanese investment in the U.S. Japan's Foreign Ministry confirmed discussions on the issue during Blinken's visit. Both nations emphasize their economic partnership, but Japan's Trade Minister noted the regrettable nature of the decision. Critics claimed the U.S. treats Japan as a potential adversary instead of an ally. Both Biden and Trump have supported higher steel import tariffs to protect American manufacturers. Nippon Steel argues that the acquisition would preserve American jobs and raise concerns about the future of trade relations.Learn more on this news visit us at: https://greyjournal.net/ Hosted on Acast. Find me and the show on social media. Click the following links or search @DrWilmerLeon on X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube! FULL TRANSCRIPT: Announcer (00:06): Connecting the dots with Dr. Wilmer Leon, where the analysis of politics, culture, and history converge. Wilmer Leon (00:15): Welcome to the Connecting the Dots podcast with Dr. Wilmer Leon. I'm Wilmer Leon. There's a lot that's been going on this week. Both Biden and Trump failed to deliver during the so-called debate. Biden's obvious cognitive decline captured the news cycle over Trump's obvious racism, lying, and failure to demonstrate a command of the subject matter. After that horrific display by President Biden, Democrats are now scurrying around like rats on a sinking ship trying to decide if they need to rearrange the chairs on the Titanic called the Biden Harris campaign. Vice President Harris is angry that her name is not at the top of the list of potential Democratic party options to replace Biden. She has her surrogates now out and about asking if that's due to the Democratic Party elite not wanting a black woman at the top of the ticket. Well, that's true. Dems don't want a black woman at the top of the ticket, but that's not her problem. (01:24) Her problem is wait for it, wait for it. Her. She didn't get 4% of the vote when she ran in 2020 and she was the first candidate out of the primaries on the Democrat side. African-Americans didn't even vote for her. Folks can't understand what she's talking about because she is the sous chef of the word salad. Anyway, all of that to say I'm on my way to Milwaukee to cover the Republican Convention, so we're going to be away for the next two weeks when the convention starts. Go to politics in color.com for election coverage that will be relevant to you and to your interests and concerns. That's where you'll find me. You'll find me in Milwaukee streaming over politics in color.com. So as always, thank you all so much for listening to the Connecting the Dots podcast with me, Dr. Wilmer Leon. Stay tuned for new episodes every week except for the next two because I'm going to be preparing for the Republican Convention in Milwaukee where you can find me@politicsincolor.com. (02:35) Also, please follow and subscribe. Leave a review. Please, please share the show. Follow us on social media. You can find all the links below in the show description. Go to Patreon and please make a contribution because these processes aren't cheap to get into. This is where the analysis of politics and history converge. Talk without analysis is just chatter and we don't chatter on connecting the dots. See you again in two weeks. Follow me on politics and color.com. Broadcasting live from the Republican Convention in Milwaukee. Until then, I'm Dr. Woman Leon. Have a good one. Peace. I'm out Announcer (03:26): Connecting the dots with Dr. Wilmer Leon, where the analysis of politics, culture, and history converge.
Both Biden and Trump hit the campaign trail after the debate Thursday. America is reacting, and Democrats are scrambling. So the question returns: Is Biden going to be the guy? Joe DeVito from Gutfeld is in studio to talk about it, and Jon Roderick is coming by to talk small business economics.

Welcome to the Market Moment! This week, Matt, John, and Lee discuss that six of the "Magnificent 7" (Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla) have gone down in the stock market. Jonathan Golub from UBS downgraded six of these, signaling a loss in momentum following their biggest market cap drop. This shift reflects concerns about where earnings are growing most, which could cause short-term disruption. Despite this, Golub remains positive about the broader market's trajectory, foreseeing continued growth supported by strong fundamentals and a robust economy. Tesla in particular has been struggling, which spawns a conversation about EVs. Next, the conversation turns to bipartisan worries in Washington about cheap Chinese goods. Both Biden and Trump advocate for tariffs on Chinese imports, though with different approaches. Despite declining steel imports from China, concerns persist about the impact of these goods on the US economy. Trump's proposal for significant tariffs could affect future trade and may have implications for inflation and global economics. Lastly, they cover recent bankruptcy filings by companies like Express and Red Lobster. These companies seek Chapter 11 protection to address financial pressures. Express hopes to facilitate an acquisition, while Red Lobster aims to renegotiate leases and tackle rising costs. Chapter 11 allows these companies to restructure debts while continuing operations, offering a chance for financial recovery. Lee, Matt, and John predict that due to high interest rates, we'll be seeing more businesses in bankruptcy. This week we responded to a comment about countries buying gold. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted March 20 at 7:15 a.m. CT: McALLEN, Texas (AP) — A federal appeals court has again prevented Texas from arresting and deporting migrants accused of entering the U.S. illegally, hours after the the law briefly took effect. Before a divided U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday let the state law take effect while a legal challenge plays out, some sheriffs were ready to relish an unprecedented state expansion into border enforcement, while others were reluctant. Hours later, an order by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals put the law again on hold. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration has reached an agreement to provide Intel with up to $8.5 billion in direct funding and $11 billion in loans for computer chip plants in Arizona, Ohio, New Mexico and Oregon. President Joe Biden plans to talk up the investment on Wednesday as he visits Intel’s facility in Chandler, Arizona, which could be a decisive swing state in November’s election. He often says that not enough voters know about his economic policies and that they would support him if they did. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo says the deal would put the United States in a position to produce 20% of the world’s most advanced chips by 2030 — up from the current level of zero. TEMPE, Arizona (AP) — Joe Biden and Donald Trump are moving closer to a November rematch, as primary voters around the country urge their favored candidate to keep up the fight and worry about what might happen if their side loses this fall. Both candidates are already their parties’ presumptive nominees. Trump easily won Republican primaries in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas and Ohio. Biden did the same except in Florida, where Democrats had canceled their primary and opted to award all 224 of their delegates to Biden. Both Biden's and Trump’s campaigns are working to fire up their bases by tearing into each other and warning of the perils of the opponent. ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia man is scheduled to be put to death in what would be the state’s first execution in more than four years. Willie James Pye was convicted of killing his former girlfriend Alicia Lynn Yarbrough three decades ago. The planned lethal injection using the sedative pentobarbital is set to happen at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the state prison in Jackson. Pye, who’s 59, would be the first person executed in Georgia since January 2020. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted March 5 at 7 a.m. CT: WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump are poised to have the biggest day of the primary campaign move them to the brink of winning their party’s presidential nominations and set up a historic rematch that many voters would rather not endure. Super Tuesday elections are being held in 16 states and one territory. Hundreds of delegates are at stake, the biggest haul for either party on a single day. In a dramatic departure from competitive Super Tuesdays of the past, the contests are effectively sealed this year. Both Biden and Trump have easily repelled challengers despite polls showing voters don’t want this year’s general election to be identical to 2020’s. CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A fire raging at a building that supplies novelties, phone accessories and other merchandise to discount stores has caused multiple explosions that injured at least two people and rocked suburban Detroit. The Clinton Township Police Department said on Facebook that debris was sent into the air and came down as far as a mile away. Exploding projectile canisters damaged a fire vehicle and a police vehicle. The explosions started about 8:50 p.m. Monday at a business called Select Distributors. PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Heavily armed gangs have tried to seize control of Haiti’s main international airport as they exchanged gunfire with police and soldiers trying to repel them. The Toussaint Louverture International Airport was closed when the attack occurred Monday, with no planes operating and no passengers on site. It is the biggest attack on the airport in Haiti’s history. It occurred just hours after authorities ordered a nighttime curfew following an explosion of violence in which armed gang members overran the two biggest prisons and freed thousands of inmates over the weekend. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine claims it has sunk another Russian warship in the Black Sea using high-tech sea drones as Kyiv’s forces continue to take aim at targets deep behind the war’s front line. Russian authorities did not confirm the claim on Tuesday. The Ukrainian military intelligence agency said a special operations unit destroyed the large patrol ship Sergey Kotov overnight with Magura V5 uncrewed vessels. They are designed and built in Ukraine and laden with explosives. The patrol ship, which Ukraine said was hit near the Kerch Strait, reportedly can carry cruise missiles and around 60 crew. The Ukrainian claim could not immediately be independently verified. Federal regulators say they have found multiple instances in which Boeing and its key supplier lack adequate measures to control for quality in the manufacturing of jetliners. The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday that it found problems with parts handling and storage, and other areas. Tomorrow is Super Tuesday in the United States and Donald Trump's chances at a victory as the Republican candidate are looking firmer than ever. The US Supreme Court has ruled in Trump's favour, agreeing that he can stay on the ballot in Colorado, overruling the top court in the state. Meanwhile Presdient Joe Biden is running relatively unopposed for the Democrats. Both Biden and Trump made visits to the southern border last week to take starkly different stances on immigration policy. Danielle Kurtzleben is a political correspondent assigned to NPR's Washington Desk.
Seth Meyers had Biden on earlier this week. Meyers ratings dropped. Both Biden and Trump are visiting the border today. Trump's immunity case will be heard by the SCOTUS.
What You Need to Know are two things: This is how politics works, and they always lie, but this time it's really bad. Joe Biden was on with Seth Meyers on the eve of his trip to Mexico. Biden claimed that Trump doesn't remember his own wife's name, repeating the stupid spin that the fake news put on Trump's CPAC speech. Both Biden and Meyers surely knew this wasn't true, but they are so willing to lie to just score political points. Joe Biden is so blatantly dishonest, and he knows it. But this is how politics works. If you have an obvious weakness, you can neutralize it by accusing your opponent of your own weakness. This is what Biden is doing. On today's podcast: 1) Presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping emerged from their first meeting in a year betting that a handful of small victories will arrest a surge in US-China tensions that has unnerved neighboring nations and threatened global economic growth. 2) President Joe Biden said he still believed his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping was a dictator, casting a shadow over what both sides had characterized as their most productive meeting to date. 3) The US Senate overwhelmingly approved a temporary funding measure to avert a government shutdown, delaying a partisan clash over federal spending until the new year and leaving out emergency aid to allies Ukraine and Israel. 4) The Cleveland Browns announce QB Deshaun Watson is out for the season. Full transcript: Good morning, I'm Nathan Hager and I'm Karen Moscow. Here are the stories we're following today. We begin with the high stakes meeting between Presidents Joe Biden and she Jinping. They met for more than four hours on the sidelines of the APEX summit in San Francisco. President Biden called his discussions with China's leader some of the most productive he's ever had. I've been meeting with President Sheeshu's both us for vice president over ten years ago. Our meetings have always been canda stradeforward. We haven't always agreed, but they've been straightforward, and today build on the groundwork related over the past several months of high level diplomacy between our teams, We've made some important progress, I believe, and President Biden's words were echoed by President she China is ready to be a partner and friend of the United States. The fundamental princippos that we follow in handling China US relations are mutual respect, peaceful co existence, and wing wing corporation. China's president spoke there through an interpreter, but after the gathering, President Biden was asked whether he still considers China's leader a dictator. Look, he is. I mean he's a dictator in the sense that he is a guy who runs the country. That is collin Cocu based on formagart totally different than ours. And after President Biden's remark, China's Foreign ministry called the statement extremely incorrect and irresponsible political manipulation. Well Nathan asked for the actual meeting, Both Biden and Shi jinping Is say they reached a number of agreements. Bloomberg's ed Baxter has that part of the story, as well as fentanyl. High on President Biden's list is opening communication between the country's militaries. We're reassuming military to military contact direct contacts. As a lot of you press know follow this that's been cut off and it's been worse, and that's how accidents happened. Biden also saying the two agreed on finding ways to control ai Biden also says he was assured that China has no plan to invade Taiwan. Now. She did say that he told Biden that the US should not have plans to suppress China and also ask for sanctions to be removed. In San Francisco, I'm at Baxter Bloomberg Radio, and thank you. Some of Wall Street's elite attended dinner with Si Jinping. Black Rocks Larry Fink and Stephen Schwartzman of Blackstone were among the top executives seated at the Chinese leader's table, according to a program seen by Bloomberg News. Other big names and attendance were Apple's Tim Cook, Bridgewater associates Ray Dalio, and Pesla says Elon Musk also met with President she yesterday. Well Nathan some major developments out of Washington to avoid a government shut down. In a late night vote, the Senate overwhelmingly approved the House's short term spending bill. Bloomberg's Amy Morris reports from Washington. President Biden is expected to sign the bill that will extend government funding at current levels through two deadlines, one in mid January, the other in early February, but the bill did not include aid for Israel nor Ukraine. Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer says that will be lawmaker's next priority after the holiday break. Both sides genuinely care about approving aid to Israel and Ukraine and helping innocent civilians in Gaza, so I hope we can come to an agreement even if neither side gets everything they insist on. And now the risk of partial government shutdown moves to January as House Speaker Johnson faces criticism from within his own party because he did not include deep spending cuts or changes to immigration policies. In Washington, Amy Morris Bloomberg Radio, Thank you. We now turned to the latest developments in the war in the Middle East. The Israeli military says it found a Hamas command center, weapons and technological assets at the Alshifa Hospital in Gaza City. Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan and Turkey, have condemned the raid. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking through an interpreter says he makes no apologies for sending troops in. But we were told that we would not reach the outskirts of Gaza city. We arrived. We were told that we won't end to Shifa, but we entered, and in this spirit we say simple thing. There is no place in Gaza that we will not reach. Prime Minister Natanya, whose comments come as The Washington Post reports discussions are underway on a potential deal that would see Hamas free fifty women and children hostages in exchange for an extended pose and fighting, and the release of some Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. Well, Nathan, we turned to the markets now, and shares of Cisco plunging, the drop coming after it gave a disappointing forecast. We get more from Bloomberg's Doug Prisner CEO Chuck Robbins, who's trying to rea doue Cisco's dependency on one time sales of equipment by pushing deeper into software and services such as security. But the transition isn't complete enough to cushion Cisco from smaller corporate budgets, and the company is now projecting the weak environment. Will Linger because customers are taking a break from new orders to installed gear they've already received. In New York, I'm Doug Prisner, Bloomberg Radio. All right, Doug. Thanks, and Cisco's shares are down nearly eleven percent in the pre market. Earnings continue this morning, with the nation's biggest retailer reporting. Get a preview of that from Bloomberg's Tom Busby. Walmart's expected to report that sales growth slow to four percent last quarter. That's less than half the pace from just a year ago as consumers pulled back on their discretionary spending, but sales of food and healthcare products should be resilient and outpaced demand for that general merchandise adjusted ernis per share estimated to be a dollar fifty two total revenue of one hundred and fifty nine point one three billion dollars. Tom Buzby, Bloomberg Radio, all right, Tom, Thanks. Well. In Europe, shares a Berber down almost nine percent. The UK luxury retailer is warning this year's revenue target maybe out of reach after sales barely grew in the most recent quarter. And Karen, we have a big deal for chocolate lovers this morning. US Candy company Mars, has agreed to buy the UK's Hotel Chacalott Group for more than six hundred and sixty million dollars. That price tag represents one hundred and seventy percent premium to Hotel Chachalot's closing price yesterday. All right, Nathan, thanks, it's time now for a look at some of the other stories making news around the world. For that, we're joined by Bloomberg's Amy Morris. Amy, Good morning, Good morning, Karen. US. Capitol police officers say one person was arrested following protests outside Democratic National Convention headquarters in Washington, DC as part of a pro Palestinian rally. This is Bloomberg Daybreak. Good morning, I'm Nathan Hager. We've made some important progress. We heard those words from President Biden after his first meeting in more than a year with the leader of the People's Republic of China, Shi Jinping. President says two leaders are restoring military to military communications and they plan to keep talking at the highest levels in the United States, will continue to compete vigorously at the PRC, but will manage that competition responsibly so doesn't veer into conflict for accidental conflict. That was President Biden after his more than four hours sit down with China's leader on the sidelines of the APEX summit in San Francisco, and joining us with more from Singapore is Berg News Managing editor Derek Wallbank. Derek, it's good to have you back with us this morning. Going into these talks, the White House said just talking would be a deliverable. What kind of deliverables can we say We're gleaned from this gathering between Presidents s Biden and shape Well, Nathan, they certainly talked. You know. Yeah. It's funny because in that relationship here, we've seen ebbs and flows between real, real static, real problems, and and times when it has seemed maybe a little bit sunnier, maybe a little bit more placid. I borrow an observation that Singapore's Foreign minister made last week at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum here in Singapore, which was that you shouldn't on US China relations confuse weather with climate. Things might look a little bit more peaceful right now, certainly in the face of this meeting that seemed to go mostly okay, But the for all climate of the US China relationship is still one with a lot of tension points. There were not major fundamental issues resolved here. This is not like we have a giant breakthrough on Taiwan, for example. So so whether a little bit nicer climate overall still very much progressing in the in the in the ways that it was sticking with the weather analogy, I guess maybe one dark cloud in that otherwise sunny gathering could be that question that the President received from a reporter when asked whether he still considers China's leader a dictator, and he basically said yes, he did, he said, he said emphatically yes. And and look, this is one of those things where China does take offense to this. You know, they don't like the term, they don't like it being used about them. But at the same point, the thing I think that bears watching is whether or not China blow it up into a whole big thing and says, right, well, this is some offense and we want to change the tenor of our leader to leader engagement or the relationship more broadly, it doesn't initially seem like that is happening. Remember Joe Biden said this before, and we're still on a path where they've gone to me, she went to the United States. That's actually something that's a big symbol for this meeting. So I'm not sure that that's necessarily going to derail everything here. Where I think it's much more likely if you were looking for risk problems is to look in the South China Sea, specifically off the coast of the Philippines, and some of the territorial disputes that are there, some of the trade disputes that are there. Those are places that I think are potential fracture points. But look, if you're sitting there saying are things a little bit better in the relationship between China and the US than they were this time yesterday, the answer is yes, they are a little bit better. You're going to see maybe some small tangible things including possibly, let me say, you might see some pandace come back to the US. We did hear that mentioned right by the leader of China. But when it comes to those small steps in our last minute here, Derek, what are some of the broader issues that could still lead to some of these overarching tensions that we do continue to see between the US and China. Well, I think, you know, on the good side, you've seen that the US and China are trying to do a little bit more on reducing fentanyl. On the good side, you are seeing Biden said they're agreeing to talk a little bit more military to military, and Biden said that they had an open line between the two of them. If one calls the other, they'll pick up the phone. But I do think on that broad thing, that the broad issue of trade, the broad issue of of China's state craft and military ambitions, those are real fracture points, and those are as I say, structural climactic fracture points, and that's going to be something that these two countries are going to have to very carefully manage going forward to make sure that they don't actually escalate. This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for October 20, 2023.According to the National Weather Service it will be mostly sunny on Friday in the Cedar Rapids area with a high near 67 degrees. On Friday evening it will be mostly clear, with a low around 50 degrees. The Cedar Rapids school board is upholding its decision to have Harrison Elementary demolished and a new school built on the site after community members implored the board to reconsider.Residents believe the board's decision lacks transparency and community input and could jeopardize the $220 million bond referendum going to voters Nov. 7, that would fund additional facility projects.“I still believe a new facility is in the best interest of students, and I support the decision made back in April,” school board President David Tominsky said. “This recommendation will serve students, is fiscally responsible and will honor historic elements of the Harrison building.”Ten people spoke during the public comment period of the special board meeting Thursday, all asking the board not to demolish the school, built in 1930.Most school board members also spoke in favor of the decision. Board member Dexter Merschbrock continued his opposition to the decision, making a motion to not demolish Harrison. The motion was not seconded by any other board member and did not proceed. Harrison is one of seven public schools built in Cedar Rapids before World War II, opening in 1930. The school contains a mural painted later in the 1930s by William Henning, a contemporary of Grant Wood. School officials have said that mural will be preserved.President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump would be in a dead heat among likely voters if the 2024 presidential election were held today, according to the latest Grinnell College National Poll. Both Biden and Trump running as their party's respective nominee attract 40 percent support among likely voters. Eighteen percent say they would vote for someone else, according to the poll, conducted in collaboration with renowned Iowa pollster J. Ann Selzer.Support for both men splits along party lines, with 82 percent of Republicans saying they favor Trump and 83 percent of Democrats surveyed backing Biden. Independent voters remain divided, but tilt toward Trump, with 30 percent saying they would vote for someone else.In other polling areas, a strong bipartisan majority also favors term limits for Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court. Fifty-nine percent support abolishing the Electoral College, and a 49 percent plurality also would do away with birthright citizenship.

Bellwether and swing states are often the battlegrounds upon which the US presidential race is won. Historically, Ohio has been one of the most important - but that is changing. So which states matter the most for the upcoming 2024 election? And how will Trump or Biden (or anyone else) win them over? I'm Peter Serefine and this is the Liberty Minute for Tuesday, day 674 of 15 days to flatten the curve. According to Gallop, 40% of voters identified as Republican or leaning Republican at the beginning of 2021. At the end of 2021 that number rose to 47%. Is this a sign of the great awakening many of us have been hoping for. I hope so, and I hope it isn't too late to save our republic. Both Biden and Harris used Martin Luther King day to push their federalizing voting laws agenda. Both claim that Republican voter integrity laws are racist. Can someone please cite one example of a legal voter being denied the right to vote? I haven't heard of that since the 1950s, but I can find people charged and convicted of voter fraud. Gold Star widow and author of Sacrifice, Michelle Black, will be in the Liberty Lighthouse this week to talk about her fight for information about the ambush that killed her husband. Until tomorrow, protect your liberties. We're just one week into 2022 and already political debates are heating up in Washington over election integrity, the Senate filibuster, and spending, among other things. It's clear that 2022 will be a significant year in the fight for American liberty. Jessica Anderson, Heritage Action for America executive director, says conservatives will face at least three major battles in the year ahead. “The fight to protect the sanctity of life, I think, is going to be in the forefront of so many voters minds, really, throughout the year,” Anderson says. The Supreme Court's decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case will determine not only whether or not Roe v. Wade is overturned, but also affect the lives of millions of unborn babies. In addition to the issue of abortion, Anderson says, election integrity and President Joe Biden's liberal agenda more broadly are significant issues to follow in 2022. China on Tuesday welcomed a virtual meeting between President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden as raising hopes for better relations, while the U.S. was more muted on the talks as the world's two biggest powers sought to ratchet down more than a year of tensions. The leaders appeared to put aside the language of acrimony in their first formal meeting since Biden took office. Xi greeted the U.S. leader as his “old friend,” and Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said the exchange was candid and constructive.“If China-U.S. relations cannot return to the past, they should face the future,” Zhao said, calling the meeting “conducive to increasing positive expectations ... for U.S.-China relations.”However, both sides held firm to their positions on the issues that divide Washington and Beijing, with Xi warning that the U.S. and Taiwan are playing with fire over the self-governing island that China considers part of its territory. The two nations were aiming to end a sharp deterioration in relations that accelerated under former U.S. President Donald Trump and had festered since Biden became president in January. The video conference, which lasted more than three hours, took place Tuesday morning in Beijing and Monday evening in Washington. Both Biden and Xi seemed determined to lower the temperature in what for both sides is their most significant — and frequently turbulent — relationship on the global stage.“As I've said before, it seems to me our responsibility as leaders of China and the United States is to ensure that the competition between our countries does not veer into conflict, whether intended or unintended,” Biden told Xi at the start of the meeting. The White House set low expectations for the meeting, and no major announcements were made. Still, White House officials said the two leaders had a substantive exchange.Xi echoed Biden's cordial tone in his opening remarks, saying, “China and the United States need to increase communication and cooperation.”The positive tone sets an example for officials in both countries to try to identify common ground rather than find fault with each other, whether on trade, climate change, or geopolitical issues such as Afghanistan and North Korea, said Wang Huiyao, president of the Center for China and Globalization, a think tank in Beijing,“I see this dialogue as a stabilizer of the bilateral relation," he said. “I don't expect this one summit to bring us back to the good old days, but certainly it stops the downward spiral.”The two leaders had an extended discussion on Taiwan, the U.S. said. Tensions have heightened as China has recently dispatched a growing number of fighter jets toward the island, while the U.S. and its allies sail warships though the Taiwan Strait.Xi blamed the tensions on Taiwan seeking U.S. support to achieve independence and some on the American side using Taiwan to contain China, a Chinese statement on the meeting said.“Such moves are extremely dangerous, just like playing with fire. Whoever plays with fire will get burnt,” the statement said.White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Biden reminded Xi that he voted as a senator for the Taiwan Relations Act that went into effect in 1979, legislation that shapes the parameters of the U.S.-Taiwan relationship.“So he understands deeply, firsthand, that the act makes clear that any effort to shape Taiwan's future by other than peaceful means is of grave concern to the United States,” said Sullivan, speaking at a webinar hosted by the Brookings Institution, a Washington think tank, on Tuesday.Chinese military forces held exercises last week near Taiwan in response to a visit by a U.S. congressional delegation to the island. The White House said Biden reiterated the U.S. will abide by its longstanding “One China” policy, which recognizes Beijing as the government of China but allows informal relations and defense ties with Taipei. Biden also made clear the U.S....
Happy Friday. There is a ton to get to. In Washington, the Democrats have failed. The progressives blocked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on infrastructure. We discuss. President Joe Biden said he raised human rights and cyberattacks during a summit with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Both Biden and Putin said the talks were generally positive but walked away with no major breakthroughs. “I did what I came to do,” Biden said. Both Biden, Putin say summit was productive; 2 Americans imprisoned in Russia get glimmer of hope from Geneva summit; Concerns grow over COVID-19 Delta variant.
President Joe Biden said he had raised human rights and cyberattacks during a summit with Russia's Vladimir Putin on Wednesday that provided an early and critical test of his diplomatic skills in the highest-stakes talks of his long career. Both Biden and Putin afterward described the three-hour-long summit as generally positive but without any major breakthroughs. Biden suggested the face-to-face was compulsory in a time of deeply strained ties between the United States and Russia. And he said proof of progress would come later, when the results of his diplomacy bear out. "I did what I came to do," he said, describing a day that ended as expected: with a better understanding of a shrewd counterpart but without any new areas of agreement. To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy
Should Ukraine Join NATO?, Biden's Summit w/ Russian Pres. Putin, Biden's re-calibration of relations w/ Saudi Arabia?Retired US Diplomat to 5 different nations David Hunter shares his knowledge, passion, interest, and experience. Today's Agenda 1) Should Ukraine Join NATO? At the recent NATO Summit, President Biden said the 'jury is still out' about Ukraine joining NATO. Ukrainian Pres. Zelenski has asked NATO to accept Ukraine's membership, given Russian aggression. But do NATO members want to accept this struggling democracy, ---when joining will enrage Putin? 2) Biden's Summit w/ Russian Pres. Putin: Today, Biden meets Vladimir Putin in Geneva, Switzerland for a highly anticipated summit. This will not be the 'love fest' of Pres. Trump, who claimed he trusted Putin's info over that of US intelligence agencies. Both Biden and Putin say US-Russian relations are at their lowest point in history. What if anything can be accomplished?3) Biden's re-calibration of relations w/ Saudi Arabia?: What Putin has been doing looks similar to what the brutal 'monarch-in-waiting' Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia would do... ie arrest or kill your opponents. How is Biden administration's so-called 're-calibration' w/ the Crown Prince going?
White House lists ‘Biden-Harris administration’ on the official websiteThe White House, breaking with tradition, now lists the "Biden-Harris Administration" on its website rather than simply, "the Biden Administration."https://www.spreaker.com/user/9922149/white-house-lists-biden-harris-adminThe move appears to have been one of several moves seemingly intended to elevate Vice President Kamala Harris’ position within President Joe Biden’s administration. Both Biden and Harris are also listed on the White House’s main Twitter page, with the bio reading: "Welcome to the Biden-Harris White House!"https://rumble.com/embed/vcpkhx/?pub=5rh65The move is unprecedented. Neither of the previous two administrations listed both the president and vice president on their main website or social media channels.Biden has flubbed more than once in referring to his VP as "President Harris." Earlier this month he misspoke in a speech offering updates on vaccination progress in the U.S. and referring to his vice president as "President Harris.""When President Harris and I took …" Biden said, before momentarily pausing, "a virtual tour of a vaccination site in Arizona not long ago, one of the nurses on that tour injecting people, giving vax each shot, was like administering a dose of hope."#MagaFirstNews a Part of https://GoRightNews.com with Peter Boykin join him onTelegram https://t.me/RealPeterBoykin GAB https://gab.com/peterboykinPodcast: https://www.spreaker.com/show/goright-with-peter-boykinCheck Out More Videos on GAB: https://tv.gab.com/channel/peterboykin Rumble: https://rumble.com/GoRightNewsBitchute: https://bitchute.com/channel/gorightnewsOdysee: https://odysee.com/@PeterBoykin:2Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbJq2br_Uw-tr3e4CIf5TAQCheck Out Our Page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/GoRightNewsOfficialPlease Show Your Support by helping to cover the costs for these podcasts, Donate directly at Paypal: https://paypal.me/magafirstnews BuyMeACoffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/PeterBoykinPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/peterboykin#GoRightNews
President Joe Biden told Democratic lawmakers Wednesday he's “not married" to an absolute number on his $1.9 trillion COVID rescue plan but Congress needs to “act fast” on relief for the pandemic and the economic crisis.Biden also said he doesn't want to budge from his proposed $1,400 in direct payments promised to Americans. But he said he is willing to “target” the aid, which would mean lowering the income threshold to qualify for the money.“Look, we got a lot of people hurting in our country today,” Biden said. “We need to act. We need to act fast.”Biden said, “I’m not going to start my administration by breaking a promise to the American people."He spoke with House Democrats and followed with a meeting at the White House with top Senate Democrats, deepening his public engagements with lawmakers on pandemic aid and an economic recovery package. Together they are his first legislative priority and a test of the administration's ability to work with Congress to deliver.Biden’s remarks to the Democratic House caucus were relayed by two people who requested anonymity to discuss the private conference call. While Biden is trying to build bipartisan support from Republicans, he is also prepared to rely on the Democratic majority in Congress to push his top agenda item into law. Objecting to the president's package as excessive, Republicans proposed a $618 billion alternative with slimmer $1,000 direct payments and zero aid for states and cities. But Biden panned the GOP package as insufficient even as he continues private talks with Republicans on potential areas of compromise. In his meeting with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and 10 top Senate Democrats in the Oval Office, the president expressed confidence that the relief package would still win over GOP votes and be bipartisan.“I think we’ll get some Republicans,” he said at the start of the meeting. With a rising virus death toll and strained economy, the goal is to have COVID-19 relief approved by March, when extra unemployment assistance and other pandemic aid measures expire. Money for vaccine distributions, direct payments to households, school reopenings and business aid are at stake.White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the president fully recognizes the final package may look different than the one he initially proposed. She said further targeting the $1,400 payments “means not the size of the check, it means the income level of the people who receive the check." That’s under discussion, she said.As lawmakers in Congress begin drafting the details of the package, Biden is taking care to shore up his allies while also ensuring that the final product fulfills his promise for bold relief to a battered nation.House Democrats were told on the call with the president that they could be flexible on some numbers and programs, but should not back down on the size or scope of the aid.“We have to go big, not small,” Biden told the Democrats. “I’ve got your back, and you’ve got mine."As the White House reaches for a bipartisan bill, House and Senate Democrats have launched a lengthy budget process for approving Biden’s bill with or without Republican support. Voting started Tuesday in the Senate and was set for Wednesday and Thursday in the House.“We want to do it bipartisan, but we must be strong," Schumer said after the 90-minute session at the White House. Democrats are "working with our Republican friends, when we can.”The swift action follows Tuesday's outreach as Biden and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen joined the Democratic senators for a private virtual meeting, both declaring the Republicans' $618 billion offer was too small. Both Biden and Yellen recalled the lessons of the government response to the 2009 financial crisis, which some have since said was inadequate as conditions worsened.Schumer said of the Republican proposal: “If we did a package that small, we’d be mired in the COVID crisis for years.”Earlier in the week, Biden met w...
Well, it finally happened. Former vice president Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, have won the United States presidential election. They ran on the promise of a return to democracy and decency—as well as a repudiation of the past four years under Donald Trump. After all of the hand-wringing, punditry, and poll watching, we're now left to consider what this regime change actually means. For artists and art workers, the jubilation of a Biden win is tempered by a healthy dose of skepticism. Both Biden and Harris have expressed general appreciation for the arts, but it remains to be seen if and how they will act on it. The inhabitants of the art world's historically liberal bubble are also facing the reality that they, like the pollsters and so many others, were entirely wrong about the margin of victory and the extent to which they live in a deeply divided country. On this week's episode, Artnet News contributor Brian Boucher, market reporter Eileen Kinsella, and chief art critic Ben Davis join the podcast to discuss the seismic changes afoot—and what it could mean for the future of culture.

President-elect Joe Biden's victory over President Donald Trump sparked celebrations in cities across the country, including many of the places that swept Biden into the White House. From New York to Miami in the East and Denver and Austin out West, Biden supporters flooded into the streets after CNN and other news organizations projected Biden as the winner Saturday morning, honking horns, cheering, dancing and popping champagne. In Washington, DC, a crowd packed into the streets in front of the White House at Black Lives Matter Plaza, within seconds of the race being called. The streets nearby filled with people shouting, banging pots and pans, and singing, "Nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, goodbye."The celebratory crowd in the blocks around the White House created a traffic jam, with people sitting on top of cars and drivers holding their fists out the window. One person wearing an American flag as a cape walked toward Black Lives Matter Plaza with a hand-written posterboard that read, "The nightmare is over."The packed crowd outside the White House later sung "YMCA," the song Trump used to close out his rallies down the homestretch of the campaign.Trump, however, was not at the White House on Saturday morning -- he was at his golfing at his club in Virginia when CNN and other networks called the race. Both Biden and Trump supporters gathered at the club's entrance and lined the road leading up to it. "You're fired," read the sign of one Biden backer. Vehicles with Trump flags drove back and forth, and one person shouted, "Media sucks."In Philadelphia, which was key to Biden's decisive Pennsylvania win, cars honked, people waved Biden flags and a large crowd gathered outside of Philadelphia's City Hall. It was unseasonably warm, and people were pouring into the streets with everything from coffees to brunch cocktails. Most were wearing masks."Biden town!" a woman yelled out of a car headed down Broad Street in the city's downtown area. There was a constant stream of cars driving by honking, with people fist-pumping out the windows.People took turns taking their picture under a "Good Things Happen in Philadelphia" banner.Chris Halt, his wife Deb and their dogs Jelly and Donut were driving through the city in an old Volkswagen bus with a Biden sign hanging off the car. "People were saying it's a peaceful protest. No, this is a joyous celebration,' Chris Halt said.Robert Nunez, riding in his car with his family, stood through the sunroof yelling in celebration. "The four-year nightmare is over," said Nunez, who said he cried when he found out the Trump presidency was coming to an end.Adrienne Register, a school psychologist from New Jersey, and her 16-year-old daughter, Arianna, joined the celebration outside City Hall in downtown Philadelphia. She said she remembers the exact time -- 11:26 a.m. -- that a friend texted her to tell her the news."We're ecstatic," Register said. "It's been a scary few days."The crowd that gathered outside City Hall began marching in the direction of Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed."We're just really excited about a new transition in the country," said Beth Lapiene, a Temple University law school student who was among the revelers outside of City Hall in Philadelphia. "We're really excited about Kamala Harris."She said the last few days of waiting for results were "anxiety-provoking" and she didn't get a lot of school work done. Her fellow law student, Daniel Gordon, 24, chimed in, "I was praying not to get cold-called in class."A chorus of horns filled Broad Street, right outside of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. As morning turned into afternoon, the once quiet street, which only saw occasional joggers and people going for coffee or bunch was soon filled with horns and groups of people erupting in cheers."I'm so happy. I don't know what to do," said one woman near the Convention Center, with tears streaming down her fa...
Welcome to Majority.FM's AM QUICKIE! Brought to you by justcoffee.coop TODAY'S HEADLINES: Joe Biden promises to use the powers of the presidency to reunite families separated by Donald Trump’s border policies. And a new report by Congressional Democrats sheds new light on just how cruel those policies have been. Meanwhile, an incident database reveals that not a week has gone by through much of this year without a case of police brutality against protesters and journalists in the United States. In that way, the new civil rights movement has a lot in common with the old one. And lastly, many first-time voters will arrive at the polls next week as veterans of political protest. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that this year’s youth vote is projected to break all records, and is overwhelmingly anti-Trump. THESE ARE THE STORIES YOU NEED TO KNOW: Campaigning in Florida yesterday, Joe Biden announced he would sign an executive order on the first day of his presidency establishing a task force to find the parents of five hundred and forty five children who remain separated from their families as a result of Trump’s grotesque immigration policies. Also yesterday, the Washington Post reported that Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee released a lengthy report on the matter. The report purports to be the first complete narrative of the Trump administration’s so-called zero tolerance policy that separated thousands of migrant children from their families. The report is the result of a two- year investigation. It found QUOTE reckless incompetence and intentional cruelty ENDQUOTE within the program. And it warns that hundreds of children may never be reunited with their parents. Lawyers estimate that as many as five thousand four hundred children were taken from their parents under the separation program, the Post reports. The policy targeted Central American families at the US southern border. The Trump administration ran a pilot program in El Paso in 2017 before expanding it in 2018, despite concerns that there was no orderly way to track the children and their families once they were separated. Trump later rescinded the policy after an international outcry. The committee also found that more than eight hundred and sixty complaints involving family separations were filed with the Homeland Security Department. The complaints include claims that minors were mistreated while in custody, such as an 8-year-old who was kicked or hit with a shoe by Customs and Border Patrol officers to wake him up. Who will pay for this terrible crime? The families must be reunited, and justice done. Police brutality cases mapped Since the end of May, there has not been a single week without an incidence of police brutality against a civilian or a journalist at a protest in the US, the Guardian reports. According to data collected by Bellingcat and Forensic Architecture and analysed by the Guardian, at least nine hundred and fifty instances of police brutality against civilians and journalists during anti-racism protests have occurred in the past five months. The database shows more than one thousand violations, including: - more than five hundred of instances of police using less-lethal rounds, pepper spray and teargas; - sixty incidents of officers using unlawful assembly to arrest protesters; - five attacks on medics; - and eleven instances of kettling. The data is probably an undercount as it only contains documented and verified incidents, per the Guardian. Portland had the highest number of recorded instances, at two hundred and nineteen. Seventy-six incidents took place in New York City, sixty in Seattle, fifty-four in Minneapolis and forty-nine in Los Angeles. And no doubt a few in your town, too! Another troubling detail from the data is how police have handled rightwing extremists, who have frequently come out to counter-protest anti-racism demonstrations. Nineteen incidents show police being permissive to far-right members and treating white supremacists favorably at protests. One notable instance took place in Washington, DC, where the Ohio National Guard deployed a known neo-Nazi to the anti-racism protests taking place in the city. That’s certainly an interesting way to serve and protect... Historic youth vote projected The Washington Post reports that youth voter turnout is set to reach historic levels this year. Data on early voters and recent polling suggest eligible voters under thirty could break their historic 2008 turnout, when it peaked at forty-eight percent when Barack Obama was elected. A new national poll released this week by the Institute of Politics at Harvard’s Kennedy School showed Joe Biden’s lead among young voters has increased in recent months. About sixty-three percent of likely voters ages eighteen to twenty nine say they support Biden, compared to the twenty-five percent supporting Trump. Voters under thirty increasingly view voting as a major part of their civic engagement, along with protesting and posting about politics on social media, the Post reports. Many students voting for the first time this year have been politically active since middle and high school. The Harvard poll found that eighty-two percent of respondents cited voting as one of the most effective ways to create societal change, up from seventy-four percent in 2017. Biden is seeking to juice youth turnout this week with a new ad airing on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. That oughtta do it. Both Biden and Trump were campaigning in Florida yesterday. Biden told supporters there QUOTE You hold the power. If Florida goes blue, it’s over ENDQUOTE. NBC News reported that medics were being called every few minutes at the Trump rally in Tampa on account of the high heat, and a dozen people were hospitalized. Trump also canceled an event last night in Fayetteville, North Carolina as Tropical Storm Zeta brought strong wind gusts to the area. The weather gods are not on his side lately. Both campaigns have events scheduled today in Minnesota. And on Saturday, Biden will hold a joint rally in Michigan with his old boss, Obama. Meanwhile the Boss, Bruce Sprinsgteen, released a sentimental appeal for his fans to vote out the Republicans on November 3rd. Which is just around the corner of this weekend. Are you nervous? We feel you. AND NOW FOR SOME QUICKER QUICKIES: The journalist Glenn Greenwald announced that he is resigning from the media organization he co-founded, the Intercept, claiming censorship. Intercept management meanwhile says Greenwald threw a tantrum and resented being edited. Such drama! Greenwald self-published the column at issue, which took aim at Joe Biden, and will no doubt air his complaints further on Tucker Carlson’s show very soon. Three people were killed in a knife attack at a church in the southern French city of Nice (NEESE) yesterday. French President Emmanuel Macron called it an Islamist terror attack and announced the deployment of seven thousand members of an anti-terror security force throughout the country. Bards Logic has been saying for months this is really a Presidential Election of Trump vs Harris. Both Biden and Harris have recently let this slip that this is actually the truth. Joe Biden's cancer charity has been caught funneling millions of dollars into the pockets of its executives while doing very little to fight the deadly disease, according to reports. We have been waiting patiently, to patiently for the Durham report. Bards Logic discussed 2 years ago it was Time to Investigate the Investigators Go to the above link to listen to the May 23rd 2018 Episode. The truth is finally being revealed. However, is it too late for the evidence that it was actually the Democrats who attempted to manipulate the election to sway reluctant voters over to President Trump? Trump attacks presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris after their first appearance. During a briefing at the White House, Trump called Harris a "very risky pick," along with "angry" and "mad," tropes used against African American women. Biden and Harris took aim at Trump in their first campaign event together in Wilmington, Delaware Wednesday. Sen. Harris pointed to President Trump when discussing why the United States leads the world with the most Covid-19 infections. Biden assured that he and his running mate were going to get to work to fix Trump's "mess." Biden added, taunting Trump with, "Is anyone surprised Donald Trump has a problem with a strong woman." Since the announcement of Biden's VP pick, he says his campaign raised $26 million. Biden says Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Harris, could also be "a barrier breaker" as the United State's first second man. Both Biden and Harris will formally accept the Democratic nominations during the party's convention held virtually next week. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris form the most radical presidential ticket in history, a ploy by the far-left to bring socialism into our country. Both Biden and Harris have gleefully embraced the socialist manifesto of the far-left, and tout disastrous proposals that would wreak havoc on our nation. Rep. Elise Stefanik discusses all this and more on this episode of 'The Right View' hosted by Lara Trump, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Mercedes Schlapp and Katrina Pierson. Text TRUMP to 88022!
Believe Women? How Roe v. Wade killed the #MeToo Movement | The Mark Harrington Show | 5-7-20 BREAKING NEWS: Legislature limits Ohio Health Director in issuing orders. Joe Biden’s accuser Tara Reade is facing the former vice president’s presidential campaign and the Democratic establishment without the type of pro-bono legal and public relations support that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford received. Reade has accused Biden of kissing her, touching her and penetrating her with his fingers without her consent when she worked for him as a Senate staffer in 1993. Both Biden and his campaign have denied Reade’s allegations several times, and Biden issued a request last Friday to Secretary of the Senate Julie Adams to locate and make public any complaint that Reade may have filed. Question: Why aren’t the media, and the Democrats treating Tara Reade’s accusation as they did Christine Blasey Ford? Answer: One word - abortion On today’s episode, Mark demonstrates why the #MeToo movement is dead. Here is the evidence. Planned Parenthood released a statement condemning Kavanaugh the same day Ford came forward with her allegations of sexual assault. The organization rallied behind Ford, organized a “National Walkout” to support her, created a promotional video criticizing Kavanaugh and issued repeated press releases and tweets praising Ford’s courage. The National Abortion Right’s Action League (NARAL) and Emily’s List released a joint statement on Friday following Biden’s appearance on MSNBC that emphasized the importance of recognizing survivors and criticized President Donald Trump. But the joint statement did not detail Reade’s allegations. This debate is about the next election, the most critical in our lifetime. Voters have a choice between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, whose actions have cost lives through this pandemic, who wants to end Roe v. Wade, who is constantly undermining our democracy, who has tried to rip away healthcare from millions, who has put children in cages and torn families apart, and more. Roe v. Wade has reaped havoc on millions of unborn children. But children are not the only victims – women are too. Why? Because pro-abortion politicians are free to assault women with little to no repercussions. Abortion pressure groups fund their campaigns and look away when women come forward with accusations of sexual assault because they want to preserve the “right to choose.” Additionally, Roe v. Wade gives men a pass for mistreating women instead of honoring them for being make in the image of God. Abortion does not liberate women. Abortion enslaves women. With abortion men can act irresponsibly and even violently and compel women to abort the baby if they get pregnant. That is not freedom. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, there were more mass shootings under Barack Obama's tenure as President than thus far under President Trump, according to Truth Stream Media. However, this fact hasn't stopped former Vice President Joe Biden from race-baiting on this issue even more than before. Attacking our Constitution as a racist document and misleading voters through his demagoguery, Biden claims that the 3/5 compromise was to limit the humanity of African Americans instead of a formula to include them in the apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives. Does Biden reject the principles our nation was founded on? This type of thinking is what created Nazi's and Klansmen to begin with. Both Biden and the KKK believe that government should be destroyed in order to repair it. Then, John Lott calls in to discuss the recent shootings and Red Flag laws. After, Thomas Jefferson (a slave owner) and Abraham Lincoln led the charge to end slavery in America. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Today on Sojourner Truth, our weekly roundtable discussion. The punditry class are aglow with reports of Kamala Harris' hit on Joe Biden, who is the lead candidate in the polls in the lead up to the debate. She hit him on his record on race in Round 2 of the Democratic presidential candidates marathon two-night debate. Will it be enough to stop Biden's climb in the polls? Race and racism turned out to be central during both nights of presidential debates, with Corey Booker on Night 1 and also Elizabeth Warren. Warren knows she has to continue to break through in winning the Black vote. This highlights the importance of the Black vote in the upcoming presidential election in defeating Donald Trump. Bernie was Bernie, and as usual, came across as the candidate who sticks to his principles and policies. He is also the only candidate who says a people's movement on the ground is necessary for things to change. The attack on socialism by at least one presidential candidate aimed at Bernie clearly fell flat. And Julian Castro broke through the crowded stage with his passionate lambasting of U.S. policies against migrants. Beto O' Rourke was the first to speak Spanish during the debate, but otherwise came across as lackluster and somewhat confused. Pete Buttigieg, the only gay candidate on the stage, stood out as calm, but also fresh, intelligent and pointed. Though many on the left continue to question his policies and portray him as a centrist, blue dog-leaning Democrat. Warren continues a dramatic rise in the polls. Prior to the debate, she was just four percentage points away from Bernie. But Warren's supporters are concerned as now some are already imaging a Harris-Buttigieg ticket. Both Biden and Bernie were attacked for their age. Meanwhile, reaction continues from around the world over the shocking photo of the drowned migrant father and his daughter from El Salvador. It has become a symbol of what increasing numbers of people see as inhumane policies and treatment of migrants, breaking international standards. And the Supreme Court made two major decisions with wide implications for both parties that center also on race. One on the question of adding to the Census a citizenship question. The other on gerrymandering. Meanwhile, the G20 meeting of world leaders of major nations is underway in Japan as of Friday. Big on the agenda are trade wars involving China and India.
