The Torah says about the mitzvah of teshuva , according to the Ramban,כי קרוב אליך הדבר מאד בפיך ובלבבך לעשותו – teshuva is very close to us, it's in our mouths and it's in our hearts. When it comes to sins between us and Hashem, this is understandable. But what about when it comes to sins between man and man? If someone took money from someone else but can't find him to return it, how will he achieve teshuva just with his heart and his mouth. Or what if he wronged another person who refuses to forgive him? How will he achieve teshuva with his heart and his mouth? When Rav Zalman of Volozhin was trying to find somebody who he insulted in his youth, he couldn't locate him and he began to cry, thinking that he wasn't going to get forgiven. The Vilna Gaon found out about it and told him, when a person does all that he can to fix a sin, Hashem will send him help from above to fix it, even if that sin is bein adam lechavero. The Chovot HaLevavot writes in the Shaar HaTeshuva , perek 10, if someone stole money but he honestly feels remorse and wants to pay it back, but he doesn't have the money to pay, Hashem will give him the money just so he could achieve teshuva . The Chovot HaLevavot writes as well, if a person wronged another but he has a real desire to make teshuva , Hashem will put feelings of mercy in the other person's heart to forgive him. As long as we have a real ratzon in our hearts, Hashem will help us make the teshuva we need to be forgiven. Rabbi Shmuel Travis told a personal story which took place about 20 years ago. An older man in his 90's named Mr. Leib prayed in his shul. Mr. Leib moved to his area, Rishon Letzion, 15 years prior and he prayed in his shul every day. One day, Mr. Leib asked the Rabbi if he could speak to him in private. He told the Rabbi he wasn't always religious and growing up in Russia was very difficult for him. He had gone into business selling leather with his brother, but the taxes were extremely high. They formed a corporation of ten people which exempted them from the taxes. But, under that corporation they did some shady things and one of the men there was extremely corrupt. The brothers had to fire him but, in an act of revenge, this man told the KGB about their shady practices. They were punished mercilessly for their crimes. They then took revenge on this man and told the KGB about what he did when he was with their company. They came down very hard on this man and took a lot of money away from him. Mr Leib then told the Rabbi, "I can't live with myself. I informed on another Jew in an act of revenge and I never got forgiveness from him. Please, Rabbi, I'll do whatever it takes, I just need to be forgiven. The Rabbi asked Mr. Leib if he knew anything about that man and his family now. Mr. Leib replied he had heard the man passed away over ten years ago. The Rabbi then said, technically, he could ask forgiveness by the man's grave with a minyan, but he would need to find the man's heirs to pay back the money for the loss that he caused him. Mr. Leib then began to cry and said he would do anything to get forgiven. The Rabbi told him he would discuss the matter with other Rabbis and that Mr. Leib should come back to him the following week on a Wednesday. That next week, Mr. Leib came back to the Rabbi on Tuesday and his face was glowing. He told the Rabbi he didn't need any rulings, his issue was solved and he explained. On Sunday night he felt feverish and he decided to go to the doctor on Monday morning. He prayed in the first minyan, as usual, and went right afterward to the doctor. The doctor's office was still closed as it was very early in the morning. Mr. Leib was waiting outside and saw another man waiting by the bus stop next door. They made conversation with each other. Turned out, this man was from the old neighborhood that Mr. Leib was from in Russia. Not only that, he discovered that this man's wife was the daughter of the man he was trying to get forgiveness from. He then went back with this man to his home and told his wife all that happened. She said she remembered the episode and exactly how much money the KGB took from her father. She then told him she had three siblings back in Russia, three brothers who were her father's heirs, and she gave him their contact information. Mr. Leib had a bank account in Russia with money that he was not able to bring over with him but was able to transfer it to people in Russia. It had just the amount he needed to make full restitution to those heirs. He contacted them and made the bank transfer, dividing up the money in three ways. Later on, they each sent him a receipt to show that he paid. Mr. Leib then went to the Rabbi and showed him the receipts. He said, "Here, this is my proof that I have received teshuva ." He asked the Rabbi that when the time came he wanted to be buried with those receipts. This man had a strong desire to make teshuva and he even shed tears to show it. Hashem gave him the siyata d'Shamaya he needed to find the people he was looking for. Teshuva is very close to us, it's in our hearts and our mouths. All we need is a strong desire to do it.

It's for anyone tired of Steve Bannon trying to demoralize us and flood the zone with sh*t. It's about concrete steps to stay grounded and focused in a world of chaos, to align your deepest needs and dreams with a higher purpose, creating world domination for the collective good. My own journey begins with being raised on stories of the government trying to kill you, and blame you for the crime, helped by Western corruption to cover-up the torture and murder. I am of course speaking of my Ukrainian heritage and the Holodomor, Stalin's genocide famine in Ukraine. In all my years of studying my family's history and the two monsters, Hitler and Stalin, who drove that history, I look back on America's own, and see the authoritarianism that established this country. The white supremacy blood lust terrorizing Black Americans, Native Americans, mass discrimination and violence against immigrants, and the list goes on. Trump, Stephen Miller, Peter Thiel, and too many others carry on that violent legacy. That's why they're aligned with the Kremlin, which sees Ukrainians as inferior.  In Ukrainian culture, we're taught to fight for our very lives, our voice, our art, our culture, our language, because no one else will. They want to erase us, so we must do the opposite and shine, shine, shine. In Ukrainian culture, art is literally survival. The coded language of poetry preserves historical truth, our shared humanity, our courage and defiance.  Life is incredibly stubborn. Creativity is how we fortify our resilience. A Reasonable Guide for Unreasonable Women provides 20 concrete steps for women–who are the favorite target of fascists, because they fear the fight in us–and their allies–to dream big for themselves and the kind of world we want to live in. That is how we reset the culture, overcome their darkness with our light, and gather our people to create a better world. We are the alternative to their dystopian vision for our future, a future that belongs to us.  To better get to new my new and most personal book, I put together this Q&A:  Empowerment can be a privilege. Many nonwhite women, especially immigrants, are juggling several jobs just to survive. How does this book make space for different lived experiences A Reasonable Guide for Unreasonable Women is based on my own lived experience of being raised in a Ukrainian immigrant family. My grandmothers both worked as maids to survive. So I take nothing for granted when it comes to the diversity of demands on women today. Throughout the book, I share wisdom and insights from women across history. There's also a recommended reading guide in the book, featuring an incredible list of women authors, like Mikki Kendall and trans activist Raquel Willis. I also share a troubling story about a Black mentor telling me to get a white man to join me for my pitch meetings and just sit there. I'm sad to say it did make a difference.  Planting seeds of hope and change – whether that's through launching a dream project like a film, book, business, non-profit, or some other ambitious goal – can be a grind. Does this book highlight organizations on the frontlines doing that unglamorous work in the shadows, helping us build that collective power?  Yes, absolutely! And I made sure that the blurbs (endorsements) featured at the front of the book included voices from grassroots groups, to promote their efforts to a wider audience. Julie Delaurier of Rise and Resist began as an organizer in ACT UP and helped organize Tesla Takedown and No Kings. She also organizes to track and resist ICE raids in NYC. She read the book and provided a heartfelt endorsement. So did civil rights leader Maya Wiley, President of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and Holley Atkinson of the grassroots group the Media and Democracy Project bringing legal challenges to the existence of Fox News. Isn't self-help ego-driven?  A Reasonable Guide is all about collective action. Individual choices produce collective action. Think of A Reasonable Guide for Unreasonable Women as Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way meets Timothy Snyder's On Tyranny. Self-knowledge isn't the end goal here; it's the foundation for knowing where you can make an impact. It cites women across movements and their advice on how to stay creative and build power in a time of mass destruction.  But isn't this focus on the self just new age nonsense which is a slippery slope to fascism, given reports of new age online movements being breeding grounds for fascist cult recruitment? This book follows an ancient tradition of taking on an empire with the power of ideas. Ideas cannot be killed. And you cannot stop an idea whose time has come.  Know thyself was popularized by the ancient Greeks, most famously by Socrates who was a champion of women for that time. The Greeks were conquered by the sadistic and corrupt Roman Empire. A couple hundred years later, the Greeks conquered them right back through the power of self-knowledge and ideas. Greek became the dominant language of the Roman Empire. Self-knowledge is not ego. The book walks you through steps to think creatively and conquer doubt in order to build meaningful collective action.  I had to produce my film Mr. Jones myself because no one wanted it. Mr. Jones was a film to bring historical justice and truth to a massive genocide by the Kremlin, covered up for generations, including with the help of Western corruption. A former Ambassador to Ukraine called Mr. Jones Ukraine's Schindler's List. A screening was shut down in Moscow, and Memorial, Russia's once largest NGO that dared to screen it, was liquidated. There were death threats and harassment during the making of the film, but still the team and I fought on, holding on to the power of our creativity and voices. That is what A Reasonable Guide for Unreasonable Women is about: remembering the power of your voice in a world that wants to silence you and kill you. Meanwhile, the Houthis have escalated attacks in the Red Sea, targeting Saudi infrastructure and shipping ports like Mocha and Jazan. Schanzer argues this is a strategic move by Iran to shut down trade on both sides of the Arabian Peninsula, exploiting a lack of unity between competitive regional powers like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. (2)Liz Peek analyzes the surprisingly vigorous U.S. economy, where consumer spending and small business optimism remain high despite elevated oil prices and stagnant job growth. While the Fed weighs interest rate hikes to curb inflation, a "wealth effect" from the stock market continues to buoy the economy. Politically, Peek highlights a "civil war" within the Democratic Party, where "revolutionary" candidates aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are challenging the establishment in key swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin. These far-left candidates struggle with electability among moderate voters in general elections. (3)Joseph Sternberg observes that the current midterm cycle has become an "election about nothing," with both parties failing to articulate clear policy agendas. Today's crypto market is quiet, but it is not calm in a healthy way. Bitcoin is sitting around $64K ahead of the July CPI report, with perpetual trading activity at its lowest level since 2023 and volatility still compressed. The market is waiting for a macro catalyst, but underneath the surface, traders are cautious, altcoins are fragile, and sell pressure from public miners remains a real issue.The biggest security story is Harmony. The project confirmed an exploit where an attacker minted roughly 4 billion ONE tokens, equal to more than a quarter of the supply. ONE fell around 40%, exchanges were asked to freeze funds, and Harmony is now looking at emergency fixes and possible rollback options. That is not just a hack. This time, comes this shocking story, where the state euthanized Brigitte Stegemann, an 83-year-old Christian grandmother, against her will and the will of her family. On the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition blog, her granddaughter said,  “One of our greatest ethical concerns is that GG had explicitly declined [Medical Assistance in Dying], stating it violated her Christian faith. Once a vulnerable patient explicitly declines this path, the facility should never have targeted her for re-evaluation behind closed doors while her primary advocate was away.” More than 5% of all deaths in Canada are attributed to Medical Assistance in Dying. It is the fifth leading cause of death there. Psalm 94:4 and 6 cries out: “How long shall they utter and speak hard things and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? … They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.” Severe drought in Europe and blazing hot July in America God has brought a severe drought on Europe. Since 1836, the month of July was the driest for England and Wales in recorded history, reports Reuters. Similarly, the United States experienced the hottest July since 1895.  Also, March 2026 was the hottest March ever — 9.4° above the 20th-century average. Ukraine drone attack killed 13 Russians, injured 75 Ukraine's drone attack on Russia's oil hub killed 13 citizens and wounded another 75 over the weekend, reports PBS.  Russia says they shut down 450 drones. In addition, Russia killed 21 people in Kyiv in this ongoing drone-based tit-for-tat warfare. The changing military alliances overseas Internationally, nations are lining up in allied positions. Just last week, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia signed a pact, in which all three nations agreed that an attack on any of the three nations would be taken as an attack on all. Pakistan's relationship with China has also warmed up considerably.   China supplies Pakistan's military weaponry and Pakistan strongly supports Beijing on Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, and the South China Sea. If we include China's growing relationship with Russia, this axis of powers now holds 6,100 nuclear warheads in total, almost exactly the same number held by the allied powers of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, India, and Israel.  Keep in mind: God is over all the armies of the Earth. Isaiah 13:4–5 states that “The LORD of hosts musters the army for battle. They come from a far country, from the end of Heaven, the LORD and His weapons of indignation, to destroy the whole land.” Columbia hit by major earthquake Another devastating earthquake hit Colombia yesterday morning, killing 111 people, reports the Associated Press. It was 7.4 on the Richter scale. This follows another 7.5 earthquake in Venezuela a few weeks ago, that killed 5,000 people. Colombia produces 80% of the world's cocaine.  However, Friday marked the first day in office for Colombia's new president —  Abelardo de la Espriella. He is an admirer of President Donald Trump and had promised an "all-out war" on the drug cartels. South America has swung to the right over the last few years. Now eight countries are led by presidents who would align more with President Donald Trump. Only three South American nations are led by presidents that bend towards the left including Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela. Two-thirds of Americans support the death penalty Pew Research has found that Americans favor the use of the death penalty for murder convictions, in line with Genesis 9:6.   A full two-thirds of Americans say they favor the death penalty, and only 32% oppose it.  The numbers have remained about the same for the last seven years. Yet, in the first half of 2026, capital juries chose not to execute the murderer at least 19 times, more often than to execute. Murders in America average 15,000 per year, yet on average, only 23 murderers are put to death.  That's one-tenth of one percent!  And this year, only 19 murderers have received the death penalty.  Genesis 9:6 says, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image.” Network for Hope shut down for its immoral organ donor system The Department of Health and Human Services has decertified Network for Hope, an organ transplant organization that was exposed for unsafe and immoral practices. Heidi Klessig of Life Site News explained, “Removing Network for Hope's certification was absolutely necessary, but will not address the most pressing problem underlying our current organ donation system: organ donors must be biologically alive in order to donate viable organs.” Attorney General Todd Blanche eager to end mail-order abortions And finally, newly appointed Attorney General Todd Blanche has pledged to work towards solidifying pro-life gains across the country, as well as to end mail-order abortions. Not surprisingly, all Democrats voted against Blanche's nomination.   According to Americans United for Life, “Through his statements and actions as Acting Attorney General, Mr. Blanche has shown himself to be a sincere advocate for human life and a faithful servant of President Trump's pro-life agenda.”  And Blanche himself has stated, “If states have said, ‘We are going to protect the unborn and we're going to protect every life from the moment of conception,' we're putting practices and policies in place so that other states and other organizations can't attack that. Print story United States exits United Nations Livestock group The United States government is pulling out of the United Nations' Global Plan of Action for Sustainable Livestock Transformation, The New American reported.  The decision, announced by the Officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Paul Welcher, comes because the declaration promotes climate change, so-called equality, and other radical policies.  Per Politico, “The plan, which is completely voluntary, was finally adopted by delegates on Friday [July 17]. It advises countries to address issues such as biodiversity, animal welfare, emissions and how to prevent the spread of disease.”

The top of the world will see a total solar eclipse tomorrow. A partial eclipse will encompass a wider slice of the globe, including Alaska and parts of the northeastern United States. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly between Earth and the Sun, blocking the Sun from view. The Sun’s hot but faint outer atmosphere, the corona, looks like silvery tendrils radiating away from the Moon. This eclipse begins when the lunar shadow first touches Earth, over northeastern Russia. The eclipse path then passes near the north pole, slides across parts of Greenland and Iceland, and finally over northern Spain before vanishing over the Mediterranean Sea. At its peak, off the coast of Iceland, totality will last for 2 minutes, 18 seconds. A partial eclipse, where the Moon covers only a portion of the solar disk, will flank that path. In addition to parts of North America, it’ll encompass much of western Europe and western Africa. From far-northern Alaska, the Moon will cover more than half of the Sun’s disk, at about 8:30 a.m. From Anchorage, about a quarter of the Sun will be covered. And from the northeast, the greatest eclipse takes place in northern Maine, shortly before 2 p.m. If you’re in one of those areas, remember to protect your eyes.
