On the Pre-Hospital Care Podcast, we spend a lot of time discussing clinical decision-making, operational challenges, and the science that underpins emergency medicine. But now and again, it's important to step back and remember why we do what we do. Behind every dispatch is a person. Behind every set of observations is a family. And behind every successful mission is a story that often continues long after the helicopter has landed and the ambulance has left.Today's guest is Shane Bradley. On the 27th of July 2025, what began as an ordinary day quickly became a fight for survival when Shane suffered a heart attack. Thanks to the rapid response of the emergency services, including the Devon Air Ambulance, he was transported to definitive care. His consultant later told him something few patients ever hear: that the helicopter almost certainly made the difference between life and death.Nearly a year later, Shane isn't simply reflecting on what happened. He's determined to give something back. To mark the anniversary of what he calls his "second chance at life," he's embarking on an extraordinary challenge: riding his motorcycle 1,000 miles in under 24 hours to raise funds for the charity that helped save him. This is a conversation about survival, gratitude, recovery, and the profound impact that pre-hospital care can have, not just on a patient's outcome, but on the rest of their life. In this video, I explain why you should leave the very first time someone lies to you in dating or relationships, from the perspective of a clinically diagnosed narcissist who knows how “little lies” grow into entire fake lives. We'll talk about why a relationship built on even one dishonest foundation stone will eventually crumble, how age lies on dating apps turn into lies about education, job, and marital status, and why love‑bombers cry and promise “I'll never lie again” right when you catch them. I'll walk through the age‑gap story, the way physical attraction and money make people overlook red flags, and how forgiving the first lie almost always leads to discovering a whole pattern of deception later. If you've ever found yourself trying to get a liar to change instead of protecting your own reality, this video will give you the clarity and permission to treat that first lie as your exit signal, not a test of how much you can tolerate.Book a Coaching Session: [https://link.me/mentalhealness]

Grief and healing don't always begin after the loss of a loved one. Sometimes they begin when we decide to let go of shame, forgive ourselves, and rewrite the story we've been carrying for years. In this episode of Groove with Portia, I sit down with Matilde Hernandez, author of Beyond These Walls and founder of Dare 2 Lift It. After experiencing incarceration, separation from her children, and the difficult journey of rebuilding her life, Matilde now helps others move beyond survival and into intentional living.Together, we explore what it means to release the labels that keep us emotionally imprisoned, why healing takes time, and how resilience is built one decision at a time. We also discuss the stigma surrounding incarceration, rebuilding family relationships, forgiveness, faith, and finding purpose after life's hardest chapters. In this episode, we discuss:• Healing after incarceration• Breaking free from shame and limiting beliefs• Rebuilding life after adversity• The grief of separation from family• Why an "incarcerated mindset" affects more people than we realize• Self-forgiveness and emotional healing• Finding purpose after trauma• Turning pain into purpose through storytellingNo matter what chapter you're in, this conversation is a reminder that your past may shape your story, but it doesn't have to define your future.Connect with Matilde Hernandezhttps://www.dare2liftit.comhttps://www.instagram.com/dare2liftit

In this deeply personal episode of The Kubik Report, Victor Kubik sits down with his neighbor and friend, Alan Farber, for a candid conversation about failure, consequences, forgiveness, and the possibility of a second chance. Alan's story is unlike most. After serving in the military and working in law enforcement, a devastating business collapse sent his life in an unexpected direction. What began as curiosity and an adrenaline-fueled impulse ultimately led to a series of bank robberies, a dramatic FBI arrest, and an eight-year federal prison sentence. Alan describes the harsh realities of prison life, including 27 months in near-total isolation under Supermax conditions. He explains how prolonged isolation can breed bitterness and hopelessness—and why so many former inmates struggle to rebuild their lives after release. While in prison he taught a GED class for 50 inmates for three years. Yet this conversation is not about crime. It is about restoration. Alan shares how reconnecting with Becky, a lifelong family friend who later became his wife, gave him hope, purpose, and the strength to build a new life. He also discusses the enormous challenges of reentering society, especially the stigma of a felony conviction and the repeated loss of employment opportunities despite his qualifications. Together, Victor and Alan explore what defines real success, why people deserve opportunities to change, and how compassion can transform lives. This moving conversation reminds us that while poor choices have serious consequences, they do not have to define a person's future. Hope, forgiveness, and genuine human connection can open the door to a completely new beginning. Previous podcast with Alan Farber on June 5, 2026

In Jonah 3:1–10, Pastor Dave Hentschel shows how the God of second chances sends His Word again, brings an entire city to repentance, and responds with extraordinary mercy. After Jonah's failure, God calls him back to the mission, and through one reluctant prophet's simple message, the people of Nineveh—from the king to the least—believe God, humble themselves, and turn from their violence. This passage reminds us that no sinner is beyond God's reach, no failure is greater than His grace, and no person in our lives should be written off as hopeless. Receive God's mercy, obey His call, and carry the good news of the God of second chances to others.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 11th of July, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Deuteronomy 19:7: ”Therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall separate three cities for yourself.” Now what happened here, the Lord in His mercy said, when the Israelites went into a new country, three cities were to be separated so that people who had made an honest mistake can go and hide from those who want to avenge the mistake that he has made. Then we go to the Book of Romans 6:23:”For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” You know folks, I want to say to you that our Lord is such a gracious God. If you read on in that scripture just before Deuteronomy 19:7, you will see that the Lord explains that if a man, for example, is cutting down a tree with his friend and the head of the axe comes off the shaft and hits his friend on the head and kills him, it's an accident. They make these three cities available for people to go and hide so that they are not avenged, and the Lord Himself has made a way through Jesus Christ for you and me to have our sins forgiven. That's why He says, ”The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus died on the cross of Calvary so that you and I can live. Yes, the God of the second chance - we made a mistake, He has forgiven us and He's given us an opportunity to continue to live! You know I looked up that beautiful scripture, Luke 7:47: ”He who has been forgiven much, loves Me the most but to whom little is for forgiven, loves Me little.” And I want to tell you something now, we can make mistakes, I've made many myself, but if we come to the Lord with a repentant heart and ask forgiveness, He will make a way for us where there seems to be no way.I don't know how many testimonies I've heard from men who have been restored by the Lord Jesus Christ after making a mistake. What about Zacchaeus, the tax collector? He was an evil man, stealing money from his own people, but Jesus came to his house, had lunch with him and said, ”Your sins are forgiven.” Zacchaeus was so overwhelmed, and the Lord said, ”Salvation has come to this house today.” Not only for Zacchaeus but all his friends, the other tax collectors as well.Today, know one thing, that if you are genuinely repentant, God will give you another opportunity.Jesus bless you and goodbye.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 NLT) Our nation was founded on Christian principles but has turned its back on many of them. In his 1796 Farewell Address, President George Washington said, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.” The good news is that God loves to give second chances. The psalmist wrote, “He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve” (Psalm 103:10 NLT). Those who repent receive God’s mercy and forgiveness. We see His mercy and forgiveness at work in His dealings with the city of Nineveh. Yet if the people of Nineveh had rejected Jonah’s message, the consequences would have been dire. The very existence of Nineveh hung in the balance. Our country will find itself in the same precarious position if we continue to reject God and His Word. Job wrote, “You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer” (Job 14:5 NLT). That applies to nations as well. So as the salt and light of our nation, believers must develop a sense of urgency about igniting the flames of revival in this country. Every nation’s days are numbered. Every great empire in history has had a beginning, a middle, and an end. The same will hold true for the United States of America, according to God’s timing. So, here’s what we’re praying for: one more great spiritual awakening—or maybe two or three. That’s up to the Lord. But our job, our mission, is like Jonah’s. We are to proclaim the Good News and tell people that there’s a God who loves them. Ours is a message of mercy but also a message of judgment for those who reject that mercy. In John 3:16, Jesus said, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son” (NLT). That’s a message of mercy. But then He said, “so that everyone who believes in him will not perish” (NLT). That’s a message of judgment. In Romans 6:23, Paul wrote, “For the wages of sin is death” (NLT). That’s a message of judgment. But then he wrote, “But the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (NLT). That’s a message of mercy. Those two themes must be present in our gospel message. They are the twin pillars of revival. Reflection question: In your circle of acquaintances, who needs to hear that God offers second chances? Description:Join Miss Liz for an unforgettable conversation with Australian author, speaker, and community advocate Helen Glanville, whose extraordinary life is a testament to resilience, redemption, and rebuilding after unimaginable loss. Helen's life changed forever when she chose to love a man whose past placed them both under intense public scrutiny. Years later, the devastating 2019 Australian bushfires destroyed the home and life she and her husband had spent over thirty years building. Rather than allowing hardship to define her, Helen transformed her lived experience into service by founding Second Chances SA, a charity supporting children and families affected by imprisonment. Her memoir, A Second Chance, shares a deeply personal story of compassion, forgiveness, and discovering hope beyond adversity. This heartfelt conversation explores what it truly means to begin again—even when life leaves you standing in the ashes. Opening: Welcome everyone to another inspiring edition of Teatime with Miss Liz, where stories become bridges of understanding and every conversation reminds us that hope is always possible. Today, we're honoured to welcome Helen Glanville, an Australian author, speaker, and founder of Second Chances SA. Helen's journey has been shaped by public judgment, personal heartbreak, devastating loss, and extraordinary resilience. Through every challenge, she chose compassion over bitterness and purpose over despair, creating opportunities for others to find healing and hope. Helen, thank you for joining us at the Teatime table. Closing: Today's conversation reminded us that healing doesn't always happen in dramatic moments—it often grows quietly through courage, compassion, and the willingness to begin again. Helen Glanville showed us that second chances aren't about forgetting the past—they're about allowing it to become the foundation for something meaningful. Thank you, Helen, for sharing your remarkable journey and reminding us that hope can rise even from life's greatest losses. Helen Glanville is an Australian author, speaker, and founder of Second Chances SA. Following public scrutiny, personal loss, and the devastation of the 2019 bushfires, she transformed adversity into purpose by supporting children and families affected by imprisonment. Her memoir, A Second Chance, celebrates resilience, compassion, and rebuilding hope. What happens when the dream you've spent years building has to be placed on hold? This week on The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with author Mark for a deeply personal conversation about purpose, sacrifice, parenting, and rediscovering the dreams you thought were gone forever. After publishing five books, Mark and his wife made a life-changing decision to adopt four older children, each navigating PTSD and significant learning challenges. That decision transformed every part of their lives and led Mark to step away from writing for nearly seventeen years. Now, he's returned with a brand-new young adult dystopian novel, carrying wisdom that could only come from living through one of life's most meaningful interruptions. Together they discuss: Choosing family over personal ambition Parenting children through trauma Living with delayed dreams Faith during difficult seasons Returning to creativity after years away Why purpose doesn't always follow your timeline This isn't just an interview about writing. It's a conversation about legacy. If you've ever wondered whether you've missed your opportunity… This episode is for you! Madison Grimm was the youngest artist to win the National Duck Stamp Contest at age 6--and went on to win it 3 times. Her father, Adam, is a 3-time Federal Duck Stamp winner, too, but this father-daughter conversation goes beyond wildlife art. Encouraged by neighboring farmers, Madison founded Second Chance Flight to rescue duck eggs and ducklings during spring operations, later releasing them back into the wild. What began as a simple concern for prairie ducks became a hands-on education in community, permits, politics, patience, and real-world, every-duck-matters conservation.
