Welcome back to the House of Her Podcast. Today, I am getting into the profound journey of understanding emotional regulation and building intimacy with oneself. I bring insights into the often automatic response of our minds to jump into problem-solving mode during moments of dysregulation. In this episode I challenge the notion that true safety comes from future plans and strategies, instead highlighting the importance of being present in the moment and connecting with our nervous system. Through my personal experiences and interactions with clients, I have explored how cultivating present-moment awareness and self-intimacy can transform how we handle challenging emotions. Join us as we discover the power of being here, now, and learn how genuine regulation grows from attention and care in the present moment.Key Takeaways:Importance of collecting data and observing personal responsesImportance of acknowledging the nervous system's present needsMisconception about needing a perfect toolkit for regulationTime Stamps:03:00 - Mind vs Body and Present Awareness06:35 - Embracing Presence and Emotional Regulation09:17 - Presence Over Future WorriesEpisode Quotes"But what's crazy is that while your mind is doing this really cool time traveling future problem solving thing, your nervous system is right here, right now, asking for attention." - Andrea JohnsonEpisode ResourcesThe House of Her Membership: https://andi-ruth-llc.mykajabi.com/offers/A4cMLXjR/checkoutConnect With Me:Instagram: @theandreajohnson

In this episode, Sensei Michael shares reflections from the closing of a September 2024 sesshin at One River Zen. As the retreat draws to a close, he explores the powerful insights that arise when we step out of the stories we've created about ourselves and engage with the present moment. Drawing from Shōyōroku Case 32, "Kyōzan's State of Mind," Sensei Michael invites us to observe our thoughts and experience life directly, without being swept away by mental constructs. The episode also weaves in the teachings of Carl Jung from his Red Book, emphasizing the importance of letting go of fixed ideas and embracing the natural growth of our true selves. Just as Jung encourages growth without knowing the law of it, Sensei Michael reminds us that our practice is about meeting life as it is—not as we think it should be.Join us as we explore how to shift beyond intellectual understanding and step into the boundless nature of being. Remember, once you've seen your true nature, you can't unsee it—but continued practice is essential, as the weeds of delusion can quickly grow back.Key Points:The seductive power of personal stories and how to step beyond themReflections on Shōyōroku Case 32 and Kyōzan's guidance on observing thoughtInsights from Carl Jung's Red Book on natural growth and letting go of the small selfThe importance of continued practice to prevent delusions from creeping back inTakeaway: Let go of who you think you should be, and find your life where it is, right here and now. Hellè Weston, the founder of Owaken Breathwork, channels a council of Arcturian beings and Archangels to give a message about the current evolution of humanity. We explore the concept of integrating light and information on the planet and the role of Oracles throughout history. Hellè Weston shares her personal journey of rejecting spiritual gifts and the impact it had on her well-being. They also discuss the connection with extraterrestrial beings in Egypt, as well as the power of sensitivity and the interplay between channeling and breathwork. Finally, this interview explores the purpose of the heart as a processing center for information and creativity. It delves into the shifting collective energy field of humanity's next evolution and the importance of truth and transparency in communication. Since she was a kid, Hellè has been seeking answers to big questions like “Where did we come from?” and “Why are we here?”. As a highly sensitive person, for most of her life, she didn't have the tools to process the intensity of my feelings so I lived in an over-stimulated, overwhelmed, stressed-out state for decades. She didn't want to live her life feeling sick, exhausted, drained, sad and insecure. She wanted to thrive, do something meaningful and exciting with my life, and leave this world a better place. In her journey, she's found a unique combination of deep Intuitive coaching, Owaken Breathwork, Channeling, and Energy Medicine to help you get crystal clear and have the tools, practices, and a new level of awareness that will positively impact you for the rest of your life. ___________________ PODCAST CHAPTERS 00:00 - Hellè Weston Intro 02:35 - Integration of Light and Information on the Planet 08:31 - The Role of Oracles Throughout History 11:22 - The Impact of Rejecting Spiritual Gifts 19:38 - Connecting with Extraterrestrial Beings in Egypt 23:03 - Narrowing Down the True Form of Interdimensional Beings 28:18 - Sensitive Leadership and the Power of Sensitivity 32:36 - The Two Distinctions of Sensitive People 37:54 - The Interplay Between Channeling and Breathwork 41:27 - The Importance of Calling in Spirit Guides in Breathwork 49:21 - Receiving and Reconciling the Human and Divine Aspects 57:47 - Living and Leading with Reverence and Humility 58:32 - Channeling a Archangel Collective & Arcturian Council 59:54 - The Purpose of the Heart 1:03:44 - Shifting Collective Energy Field 1:09:23 - Galactic and Interdimensional Beings in Humanity's Origin Story 1:18:37 - Arriving in Present Moment Awareness 1:22:59 - Learning from Past Civilizations 1:30:39 - The Role of the Next Generations ___________________ Guest: Hellè Weston, Intuitive Guide, Breathwork Coach, Channeler Website | https://www.helleweston.com/ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/helle_weston YouTube | @owakenbreathwork Owaken Breathwork | https://www.owaken.com/ Work 1:1 with Hellè | https://www.helleweston.com/work-with-me Host: Emilio Ortiz Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/iamemilioortiz/ Subscribe to YouTube Channel | @EmilioOrtiz Watch Emilio's latest series on 4biddenknowledge TV l https://bit.ly/AwakenThe6thSense Shop Our Clothing Collection l https://www.unlockedmovement.com/collections/justtapin ___________________ Special Offerings to Support the Show: ✦ Make a One-Time or Recurring Donation on PayPal

In this second part of our series on how to develop your psychological flexibility, we look at the importance of being in the present moment, and minimising 'mental time-travel'. Richard and Ross look at some of the unhelpful ways our attention and focus are pulled from the here and now, along with some simple ways you can start to develop your capacity to just notice. We make the distinction between day-dreaming and all the benefits this can bring, and unwanted mental time-travel, where we can get taken to worrying imagined futures. It's the unwanted mental time-travel that takes us away from the present moment, and the opportunities for action it offers us. This episode of the Dethroning Your Inner Critic podcast focuses on the importance of finding joy in the present moment and how many people are unknowingly blocking themselves from experiencing it. Joanna Kleinman, the host, discusses the negative impacts of living on autopilot and being driven by future goals and societal expectations. She emphasizes the power of small, intentional moments of joy in shaping our present and future experiences. Key Points: Many people feel a general apathy and dissatisfaction despite achieving external success. We block joy by focusing on the future and chasing external validation. Our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions create our energetic frequency and impact our reality. Finding small moments of joy daily can rewire our brains and attract more joy. Our automatic mind is often stuck in negativity and needs conscious observation. Processing past traumas and core wounds is crucial for lasting change. Shifting our focus to present joy creates a ripple effect of positivity in our lives. Joy is contagious and spreads to those around us. Reflection Questions: When was the last time you truly felt joy in the present moment, and what was it like? Do you find yourself focusing on the future or the past more than the present? What are the consequences of this? Are there any areas of your life where you are blocking joy due to negative thoughts or beliefs? Are you ready to find out which Inner Critic Is Ruling Your Mind? Take the FREE Inner Critic Assessment now to Identify the patterns that keep you stuck professionally and personally.

In his newest work, Coming Full Circle, Shannon candidly shares the lessons he learned during his own extensive journey of using psychedelics to heal trauma. With a heartfelt desire to support others in their healing process, Shannon hopes that his experiences will provide valuable guidance to those in need. Along his path, Shannon has discovered the importance of embracing his authentic self, particularly his sense of humor, which has been a source of great reward in his own healing journey. Listen & Subscribe on: iTunes / Stitcher / Podbean / Overcast / Spotify Contact Info Book: Coming Full Circle: Healing Trauma Using Psychedelics by Shannon Duncan Book: Present Moment Awareness by Shannon Duncan Most Influential Person My Therapist, Taffy Effect on Emotions Shannon Duncan expressed his insight about emotions as follows: “Through my experience with mindfulness and working with my therapist, Taffy, I gained a valuable lesson in pulling myself back and simply observing my emotions. Previously, my emotions had solely defined me, as if whatever I was feeling represented an absolute truth. I hadn't considered that these emotions might arise from deeper insecurities, sadness, or a lack of feeling safe. However, through the practice of mindfulness, self-awareness, and self-honesty, I have been able to expand my inner world. I now understand that I can contain and observe my emotions without identifying myself solely with them. I have come to realize that I am not defined by my emotions alone.” Thoughts on Breathing Shannon Duncan emphasizes the significance of breathing, which plays a pivotal role in mindfulness. He stresses that the way we breathe is a direct reflection of our internal state. If our breath is shallow and confined to the chest, it indicates a heightened sense of panic or being in a primal, reactive state. To counter this, it is essential to cultivate abdominal breathing, where the breath originates from the belly. This intentional practice helps to calm the body and mind, allowing a sense of stability to emerge. In Shannon's personal experiences, both in psychedelic journeys and overwhelming emotional moments, conscious breathing has served as a lifeline. When faced with intense emotions that could easily lead to panic, Shannon's guide has consistently reminded him to focus on deep belly breaths. This simple act has the power to settle everything, making the overwhelming emotions more bearable and facilitating their release. In this moving account, Shannon reveals he once endured the painful experience of being bullied, which left enduring emotional imprints. However, it was through the transformative power of mindfulness that he discovered solace and inner strength. By cultivating a state of present moment awareness, Shannon was able to observe his thoughts and emotions without judgment, allowing him to respond to the bullying with compassion and unwavering resilience. This profound journey illuminated the remarkable capacity of mindfulness in navigating challenging situations, empowering Shannon to transcend the pain and embrace their authentic self. Through the practice of mindfulness, Shannon found the ability to rise above adversity, cultivating a deep sense of self-acceptance and fostering a compassionate perspective. His story serves as a testament to the transformative potential of mindfulness, offering hope and inspiration to others facing similar struggles.
