This week, Alex is joined by the caster, streamer, and "Golden Gauntlet" voice: Not My Dance! The duo kicks things off with an origin story involving a Florida hurricane and a bad case of food poisoning that led to a Marvel Snap addiction. They dive straight into the massive new release, Fin Fang Foom. Is this 7-Cost behemoth just fodder for Hela, or does the War Machine Ramp deck finally have a new finisher? They also break down the season's biggest surprise, Dragon Lord, debating if this free-to-play card is actually the best release of the month.Alex and Not My Dance also preview Shang-Chi, Master of Rings, discussing the major downside of the card starting in your hand and whether the "10 Rings" payoff is worth losing a draw.Plus, they discuss the "Hero's Journey" of a Marvel Snap match and why the current retreat meta robs players of satisfying comebacks. Finally, they answer a Mailbag question about the dream of a Draft Mode in 2026. Some of the best conversations start with listener questions, especially the ones that come from feeling stuck, confused, or wondering, 'is this normal?'In this special Q&A episode, I'm tackling two listener questions. One is about unexpected dryness while taking a GLP-1 medication. The other is a much bigger one: what to do when weight loss slows down after an initial drop, even though you feel like you're trying.Join me as I talk about the importance of success beyond the scale, why BMI is useless without body composition data, and why movement matters more for your brain than your waistline. If you've been feeling frustrated, stalled, or unsure what to focus on next, this episode will help you think about your situation a little differently.ReferencesThe Body Intelligence Blueprint Audio Stamps00:29 – 30/30 program updates and changes for the September round.03:40 – Dry lips and skin on Zepbound: what's normal vs. what needs medical attention.05:28 – Redefining success beyond the scale and celebrating non-scale victories.07:15 – Why body composition data matters more than BMI for tracking real progress.08:07 – Exercise as a tool for emotional resilience and stress management.09:58 – Why checking labs and ruling out physiological causes should always come first.11:46 – Introducing the Body Intelligence Blueprint: personalized one-on-one coaching with genome analysis and body composition. All of the information on this podcast is for general informational purposes only. Meet the wonderful René Barbier Meyer, head winemaker at Clos Mogador winery in Priorat, Spain. René is a winemaker who believes in being close to the land, the grapes, and juice so that he can make unique, artisan, gastronomic wines. In our interview, he shares his philosophy of winemaking, which is very similar to the way that a musician would describe making music - it is about feel, technique, and adaptation. René practices very low intervention winemaking because he wants the people to experience the wine as it was meant to be. He comes from a long line of winemakers who are French in origin, but who found their home in northern Spain, focusing on indigenous grapes and passionate winemaking. We know you will enjoy meeting René and learning more about his winery and wines. In today's quick Friday Five episode, we're talking about something that causes fear for so many people on a weight loss journey: hunger. If hunger starts returning, many people immediately assume something has gone wrong — that the medication is failing, that weight regain is inevitable, or that they're losing control. But hunger is not a problem to eliminate.Hunger is normal. It's natural. And it's necessary. In this episode, we explore why chasing lifelong appetite suppression isn't realistic, why grazing often keeps you undernourished and unsatisfied, and how learning to live in harmony with hunger is a key part of long-term weight management. You'll hear why hunger doesn't mean failure, how diet culture taught us to fear it, and what it actually looks like to respond to hunger with trust instead of panic. We also discuss practical strategies like structured meals, adequate hydration, gentle planning, and why eating full meals — not constant snacks — helps your body feel safe and nourished. Finally, I share resources that helped reshape my own thinking around hunger, including Words to Eat By and Food and Feelings, along with reminders about accessible support through libraries, journaling, and therapy. We are not chasing suppressed hunger for life. We are learning how to work with our bodies — not against them. All of the information on this podcast is for general informational purposes only. Send me a Text Message! As I was working on this episode, I couldn't get a song out of my head. It's a simple song that I learned in church as a kid. "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine..." In John 1 we find that Jesus is not only the Word of God, He is the light of the world. And when His light shine the darkness cannot win. But if you can get past the grand metaphors and visions of light battling darkness, at the heart of John 1 is a messy love story. In the midst of our darkness and our mess, he relentlessly pursues you. Even as you walk the Jesus way, His heart is relentlessly pursuing you.

Send me a Text Message! Ask yourself this question, "Whose words do I love? Who gets my ears?" I can't love Jesus' words if I'm never in His Word (the Bible). So how much of it have I read? How often did I read it this week? Do I treasure it? Do his words saturate my soul? Do I let His Words convict me? Guide me? Here's the deal, I can't be an apprentice of Jesus if I never listen to the word. In other words, the first step is as simple as, open the book. This may take a little planning. The good news is that God will meet you wherever you are at, whatever your plan. But you have to open the book. It's hard to walk in His ways, if I don't listen for His voice!

We’re right back into the Beckham family drama today, because after eldest son Brooklyn Beckham posted a series of scathing statements about his family, a number of sources have come forward. Mostly to explain what really happened during the ‘inappropriate’ mother and son dance (and we have a wild theory about this to share with you). Plus, the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal drama has ramped up with a number of legal documents containing scandalous emails and text messages between Hollywood A-listers (including Matt Damon and Ben Affleck) being leaked, and now we need to dissect their contents.Among the documents are also text messages between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, including one heartbreaking text message exchange that signals the end of their friendship. Send Kris and Rob a Text Message! In April 2006, Kari Baker—a 31-year-old teacher and mother of two—was found dead inside her home in Hewitt, Texas, just outside Waco. The scene was initially treated as a suicide. But almost immediately, questions surfaced: the timeline, the circumstances, and whether what looked like self-harm was actually a staged scene meant to conceal a homicide. In this episode, we unpack the full true crime story of Kari Baker's death and the investigation that ultimately led to the conviction of her husband, Matt Baker, a Baptist minister whose public image didn't match what prosecutors later argued was happening behind closed doors. We walk through the murder-or-suicide debate, the turning points that shifted the case from suspicion to charges, and the courtroom narrative that ended with a murder conviction and a 65-year sentence. In This EpisodeWho Kari Baker and Matt Baker were in the Hewitt/Waco communityWhat happened the night Kari was found—and what raised red flagsHow the case evolved from suicide to a homicide investigationThe prosecution's theory, key evidence themes, and trial outcomeWhy this case remains a defining example of staged death investigations, coercive control, and intimate partner violenceContent WarningThis episode includes discussion of domestic violence, coercive control, and homicide. Send Katie a Text Message!! Choosing a coach is a big decision—especially when your business is already successful, but something still feels heavy. In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what coaching should (and shouldn't) look like for interior designers. I share the mistakes I've made hiring coaches, the lessons I learned the hard way, and the exact criteria I use now—both when I hire support and when designers consider working with me. This isn't about hype, Instagram followers, or quick fixes. It's about clarity, alignment, and making decisions that actually support your life and your business.IN THIS EPISODE:Why you don't need a coach because you're failing—but because your business has outgrown its current structureThe real signs it's time for coaching (and why exhaustion isn't a motivation problem)How fear keeps designers stuck longer than necessary—and why that's often the most expensive choiceWhy coaching isn't about buying information, but about compressed time, perspective, and decision supportWhat I look for when choosing a coach—and why “been there, done that” is a red flagWhy specialization matters more than popularity when it comes to coachingMy honest take on group coaching vs. private coaching once you're past six figuresThe three non-negotiables every designer should use when choosing a coachHow to know if I'm the right coach for you—and just as importantly, if I'm notI see designers wait too long to ask for help, hire the wrong support, or assume coaching “doesn't work” when it was really just the wrong fit. This episode is about giving you clarity—so you can stop second-guessing yourself and start making decisions with confidence, integrity, and intention. Coaching should feel supportive, aligned, and safe—not pressured or performative. If this episode resonates and you're feeling ready to talk things through, I offer a free 15-minute problem-solving session. No pitch. No pressure. Just clarity. Jordana kicks off the episode by asking Dr. Naomi if she feels threatened by ChatGPT therapy, and the two complain about the rise of AI's use in our everyday communications. An Overshare gets delightfully unhinged when a listener admits she wants to burn her whole life down and start over, and the hosts talk her off the ledge. After making a new friend on the tennis courts, a Betch finds herself distracted by said friend's commitment to a bra-free lifestyle and debates whether it's socially acceptable to ask for a little more support at their next hang. In a job where she's constantly the bearer of bad news, one woman looks for an intention to keep her pre-doom anxiety in check. Elsewhere, a wife spirals over her husband telling a female coworker “I'd love you forever,” and a Betch trying to get pregnant tries not to lose it when her sister-in-law casually floats surrogacy before she's even had time to panic properly. Send me a Text Message! The Gospel of John is a masterclass in the Jesus way. It is not just a record of what Jesus did, but an invitation into how Jesus lived, loved, related, discerned, and moved through the world. If the other Gospels give us the story of Jesus, John opens a door into the inner life of Jesus—so that anyone who reads it can learn to live from the same center, with the same Father, in the same Spirit, for the same purposes. For this journey, think of John as an apprenticeship manual disguised as a story. And we start with the question, "What is my most urgent hunger?"

In this episode of Basic AF, Tom Anderson and Jeff Battersby kick off the year by digging into some of the biggest Apple stories in early 2026—starting with the news that Apple is partnering with Google to have Gemini power a revamped Siri and Apple Intelligence. The discussion looks at how Gemini might be integrated behind the scenes, and whether Apple's privacy promises can hold up when Google enters the equation. The conversation then turns to Apple Creator Studio, Apple's new subscription bundle that includes Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, and other creative tools. Tom and Jeff debate who this bundle is really for, how it compares to Apple's older one-time purchase model, and whether subscription fatigue is simply the cost of modern software. From there, they break down Apple's controversial new app icons and macOS Tahoe design changes, followed by concerns over App Store ads becoming harder to distinguish from real search results. The episode wraps with a broader look at Apple's record-breaking services revenue and what it signals about the company's priorities moving forward.Links from the show:Google and Apple issue joint partnership statementReport: Google Gemini will expand Siri's capabilitiesReport: Apple will fine-tune Gemini independentlyApple confirms Google Gemini will power new Siri featuresApple announces Apple Creator StudioApple reports record-breaking Services revenue in 2025Question or Comment? Every once in a while a wine comes along that makes us say, “What the f*&k is this $h&t?!? Meiomi is such a wine. Sometimes described as diabolical, this wine is still, somehow, the best selling Pinot Noir in the United States. And so, we decided to see if we could figure out why. Meiomi makes what we call “California-ized” wine. By that we mean big, bold, sweet, and lush wines that are as subtle as a mule kick to the head. More like cocktails than wine, they are not really made to be paired with food. In fact, we think they may pair better with leather shoes or the bottom of your sink. So, in the spirit of discovery, adventure, and foolhardiness, we explore all the grandeur that is Meiomi wine. Send me a Text Message! Our God is able to do immeasureably more than anything we could ever ask for or imagine. And not only is He able to do it, I believe He is doing it. So I'm asking for more. With the open heaven's all around us, I'm asking Him for more. I'm asking Him to do more than I can imagine. I want to be part of a move of God that makes it impossible to stay seated when the opportunity comes to give God a standing ovation. This episode will ask you to join me, because our God is beyond beyond. He is able to do infinitely and immeasureably and exceedingly abundantly beyond every bit of more you could ever ask for. If we could get beyond what we can imagine...He'sstill beyond that. Our God is beyond beyond!

Comment on the Show by Sending Mark a Text Message. The loudest truths in the workplace rarely make it into court filings. We're changing that by opening our mic to employees who've lived through discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing pressure, or predatory noncompetes—and want their experiences to protect others. After decades in employment law, we're pivoting from parsing opinions to documenting reality, on the record yet safely off the radar. Here's how it works. We invite fact-backed stories from any industry and any level. Each interview is focused and brisk—30 minutes designed to move from “What happened?” to “How did they do it?” to “What can someone else learn today?” We shield your identity with voice masking, scrub names and specifics, and cut anything that could point back to you or your company. No lawsuit required. In fact, many of the most valuable lessons come from situations that never reached court—because people didn't know their rights or because the matter settled before a judge ever looked at it.We're especially looking at four common flashpoints: discriminatory treatment tied to protected classes, retaliation after speaking up, whistleblowing on fraud or safety issues, and noncompetes that box workers out of their field. By surfacing patterns—sudden PIPs after complaints, code words that signal bias, unenforceable contract clauses—we turn isolated experiences into a public playbook. The goal is simple: when a listener faces a surprise HR meeting or a chilling NDA reminder, they'll have the language, steps, and confidence to respond. If you have a story and evidence to back it, we want to hear from you. Send me a Text Message! In this episode, Mike and Angie continue their ten-part series by moving deeper into the heart of their transformation — the shift from a survival-based relationship to a conscious one. After laying the foundation of their childhoods and early conditioning in Part One, this conversation explores how unconscious patterns, nervous system wiring, and unresolved inner conflicts shaped sixteen years of toxicity, volatility, and emotional harm. They walk through the moment everything collapsed, the decision to rebuild rather than repeat, and the painful truths required to move from fear, control, and projection into responsibility, ownership, and growth. This episode draws a clear line between relationships driven by survival and those rooted in consciousness — and why nothing truly changes until each person takes full responsibility for what's happening inside their own body and nervous system.Key TakeawaysThere Is Never Only One Toxic Person in a Toxic Relationship Survival-based dynamics are mutual, even when the pain expresses differently for each partner. The Nervous System Prioritizes Familiarity Over Safety People repeat unhealthy relationships not because they want pain — but because their nervous system knows how to survive there.Unspoken Expectations Create Hidden Resentments When internal conflicts are outsourced to a partner, the relationship becomes a battleground instead of a bond.Triggers Reveal What Needs Healing External events don't create emotional reactions — they expose what's already stored beneath the surface.Conscious Relationships Are Built on Ownership, Not Control Growth happens when each person cleans up their own triggers instead of demanding the other person change.Notable Quotes“There's never only one toxic person in a toxic relationship.”“The nervous system has one job and one job only — to keep you alive.”“Nothing on the outside of you can solve internal conflicts inside.”“When you expect the external world to solve internal conflicts, this is when you're in survival mode.”“A conscious relationship is built on an unbreakable commitment to work on everything together without guilt, shame, anger, threats, and blame.”Call to Action

Send me a Text Message! What does it take for us to persevere, to be a people who never give up? I think Paul would say that it takes a connection, a connection to Jesus and a connection to people. And he would say that it takes prayer, all-prayer. Pray at all times with all kinds of prayer for all people with all perserverance. Don't give up praying and when we pray together, there's even more strength for the battle. So in the darkness, in the battle don't give up, stand up! Stand up together. Stand up in prayer, in the end light wins!
Send me a Text Message! The apostle Paul is writing his friends to help them when they encounter darkness and in a way the first thing he says is this: If darkness is near, heaven isn't far. Dark times are often isolating times. When we go through dark times we begin to believe we are not only alone, but we are far from God. But don't miss God's words, in Paul's words, "Be strong in the Lord." Even while we are in the Lord, while we are in Christ, the darkness comes, but when it comes, His strength is close. Listen, if you find yourself in the midst of a dark time, right now, that doesn't mean that heaven is far from you. In fact it may mean that heaven is closer than you can imagine.

What if editing isn't drudgery, but the most delightful part of your writing process? So you're revising yet another draft. You're hoping against hope that this draft will be your final draft. Which, coincidentally, is also what you hoped for the last draft, and the one before that.Editing is a slog you're trudging through. You dream of the day when you can escape this drudgery and return to the free-flowing fun of writing the first draft of your next book. But what if editing isn't an obstacle you have to grit your teeth and bear? What if it's where the magic happens? It would release the pressure to make this draft your last draft. It would make the process itself more fun, a reward in and of itself. And paradoxically, when you're working from pleasure rather than pressure, your editing work could become more efficient, because you give the process the space it needs. So I asked six authors, editors, and book coaches the same question:What do you love about editing? The answers they shared vary widely. They're a whole host of things: everything from puzzle-solving and understanding the mechanics that makes something work to personal development, community building, and meaning-making.In this episode, I'm sharing all their answers with you, in hopes of sparking a little of your own editing joy.Listen for what resonates with you. You might discover one new thing to love—or a whole new perspective on revision. And if you already love editing, well, I think you'll find this episode an absolute delight.Plus, I want to know what you love about editing!
