How did a kid with no background in winemaking, a D1 scholarship to wrestle in college, and an interest in Mechanical Engineering end up making wine at one of the most famous wineries in Napa? You could call it fate. This week, we had the honor of sitting down with Kurtis Ogasawara who is the Director of Winemaking at Robert Mondavi Winery. Like a lot of winemakers we have met, he didn't start out expecting to be a winemaker, and began with a background in science and math. But, maybe the most amazing thing about Kurtis is that his experience as a Division 1 college athlete has influenced how he sees the winemaking process - which he likens to a team because of all the different people and talents that have to come together to make something special. Join us for this fun and fascinating interview, and gain a new appreciation for this storied winery and one of its amazing winemakers. Send me a Text Message! My goal through this podcast and my prayer for all of us is that we would be drawn to the Words of God, that we would develop a hunger to hang out with Jesus and listen to the whisper of His spirit through our hearts and out our ears. My goal is that we would go to this book (the Bible) again and again in search of gold. That our incentive would be the precious treasure of God-birthed healing in our hearts, inspiring our minds, and renewing our spirits. But my concern is that sometimes we treat the Words of God like a common worthless penny. We'll take it if somebody gives it to us, but don't expect me to dig for it. But what if one of God's greatest gifts are the Words He speaks?

Send me a Text Message! In this powerful episode recorded in Cancun, Mike and Angie reflect on how far their family has come—from toxic, chaotic vacations rooted in escapism and conflict, to conscious travel experiences centered around peace, healing, and generational transformation. They pull back the curtain on the realities of generational trauma, how nervous systems become conditioned to chaos, and what it takes to rewire for peace and presence. You'll hear deeply personal stories from their past and the work they continue to do on themselves and in their family today. If you've ever struggled to enjoy success, felt anxious even in moments of rest, or watched patterns repeat across generations—you're not alone. This episode reminds us that nervous system healing isn't just personal—it's generational.Key Takeaways:Family transformation takes time, honesty, and deep inner work—healing one nervous system at a time.Vacations used to be a form of escapism fueled by alcohol and control; now, they're containers for conscious presence and joy.Children absorb the energetic imprint of their environment, and it takes intention to break that cycle.Even when chaos is gone, the body may still be wired for it—healing requires consistent inner awareness and release.Financial success doesn't guarantee safety; true security comes from emotional regulation and nervous system health.Notable Quotes (Word-for-Word):“We were all operating at the highest level of our consciousness and awareness. Just most of the time it wasn't very good.”“Our beautiful, amazing daughters that we love so much were in our space and we thought it was just normal just to argue and get visceral with their little tender bodies, their sensitive bodies absorbing all this chaos.”“Your central nervous system is built and wired from the past, from experiences, from traumas… to operate from survival mode even in the absence of danger.”“You're no longer in the environment of that shit—the drama, the conflict—but for whatever reason your central nervous system still expects it.”“We experience safety and security in our body, not in our bank account.”Music Credit: "What's Left of Me" by Wes Hoffman & FriendsCreate a New Pattern This episode is a powerful reminder that the quality of your life doesn't come from the next goal, the next trip, or the next win — it comes from the energy you live in every day. If you've been outsourcing peace to your environment, this is your invitation to reclaim it from within. Join us as we unpack what it means to lead a family, a business, and a life from nervous system regulation, emotional truth, and deep personal power.Want to Go Deeper?Visit www.innerwealthglobal.com and explore tools, programs, and offerings that guide you back to your aligned life. Send me a Text Message!Sometimes we get scattered and distracted, we walk through difficult paths in life, in part, because we didn't have a good guide to life. Or maybe you had no guide; no one to show you the sights in the daylight; how to journey to all the good parts and through the hard parts. But here's what I think James might say to us today, “You have a Father, a Father in heaven who knows the way to a life that thrives, even in the scattered times. Follow him. So the question for this episode in a life of prayer is simply, "Do you know your Dad?" I'm talking now about your heavenly Dad. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray he said, "Ok, when you pray...say Father."

Send Kris and Rob a Text Message! In Part Two of The Scarsdale Diet Murder, we pick up where the gunshots left off. Dr. Herman Tarnower—the cardiologist behind The Scarsdale Diet—was dead, and his longtime lover Jean Harris was in handcuffs. But the real battle had just begun. What followed was a 14-week media-frenzied trial, filled with courtroom theatrics, handwritten, ten page love letters, prescription drugs, and a defense that teetered between suicide attempt and emotional collapse. Prosecutors painted Jean as a jealous, calculating killer. The defense claimed she was a broken woman, unraveling under years of psychological manipulation and amphetamines prescribed by the man she ultimately shot. The jury didn't buy it.Jean Harris was found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to 15 years to life. She would go on to serve 12 years behind bars before then-New York Governor Mario Cuomo commuted her sentence at age 69.In this episode, we break down the trial, the aftermath, and the transformation of Jean Harris—from prep school headmistress to convicted murderer to prison reform advocate.sources used for this podcastSupport the showJOIN THE HITCHED 2 HOMICIDE IN-LAWS AND OUTLAWSSTART KRIS CALVERT'S BOOKS TODAY FOR FREEH2H WEBSITEH2H on TWITTERH2H on INSTA

Send me a Text Message! One of the questions that comes up frequently in regards to prayer is simply, "Does prayer matter?" I often receive some version of that question in relationship to unanswered prayer. Every death, every war, every cancer, every season of depression, every divorce stands as a monument to unanswered prayer. And so we hear the question in our hearts, "Does prayer matter?" I believe with all my heart that prayer is at the heart of our relationship with God and asking is at the heart of our prayers. But the bottom line is that few things motivate me to pray like answers to prayer. So here's the question for this episode, "Are there any prayers that God always answers?"

You don't need more filler. You need better progressive complications.Your inciting incident hooks your readers and promises them a story they'll love. And then comes the middle. The messy middle. The quiet doldrums of your story, where plot momentum goes to die.Where your characters wander, your conflict blurs, and you start to wonder if any of it is working. So what do you do? Add some “stuff that happens” and hope it holds your readers' interest? Toss in a random subplot? Describe your character's breakfast in extreme detail?Nope. This is the space of the progressive complications. And in this episode, I'm showing you exactly how to revise them.Because the middle of your story isn't filler or unnecessary fluff. It's 60% of the story, and it has an essential job to do.What progressive complications really are (and what they're not)How they build momentum and escalate conflictThe 8 qualities I'm looking for when I edit progressive complicationsHow to know if your scenes are working—or just taking up spaceAnd more! And to make it even easier, I've created a cheat sheet to help you revise your progressive complications. Send me a Text Message! In this episode, we will ponder for a few moments how our lives can make an impact and leave a legacy. An impact is what we make while we're still living. A legacy is what that impact leaves behind when we are gone. Remember Hebrews 12:4, we read that one a few times in this series, it says, "Let us run with perseverance the race that is marked out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” In other words, you have a particular race, a way that God is shaping you to make an impact and leave a legacy. But there are some common principles for running that race to make an impact and leave a legacy. So we are going to look at Jesus' unique race to help us learn how to make an impact and leave a legacy...and what that has to do with a life of prayer.
In this groundbreaking conversation, "The Conscious Gynecologist" Dr. Andrea Salcedo joins Dr. Philip Ovadia to uncover the profound connection between women's reproductive health and metabolic health. Dr. Salcedo shares startling research showing how insulin resistance impacts everything from PCOS and gestational diabetes to uterine fibroids and gynecologic cancers. You'll learn why the same inflammatory processes that cause heart disease also create uterine fibroids, how pregnancy naturally induces a state of insulin resistance to protect the developing fetus, and why morning sickness serves an important biological function. Dr. Salcedo explains how traditional gynecological approaches often miss the metabolic root causes of women's health issues, leading to band-aid solutions rather than addressing the underlying insulin resistance. With her unique background as both an academic researcher and metabolic health advocate, Dr. Salcedo provides practical insights into how lifestyle changes can dramatically improve gynecological health without relying solely on medications or surgery. The conversation shatters common misconceptions about female health problems and offers a new framework for understanding women's bodies beyond the "just hormones" explanation.Whether you're struggling with reproductive health issues, planning for pregnancy, or simply want to understand the intricacies of female health, this conversation offers vital information that most medical professionals aren't discussing. Listen now to discover why one in three women lose their uterus by age 60 – and what can be done to prevent it.BIG IDEAGynecologic diseases like PCOS, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids aren't just "female hormone problems" – they're manifestations of metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance that affect the entire body.Andrea Salcedo, DO - Contact InfoWebsite: https://www.consciousgynecology.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/consciousgynecologist/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@consciousgynecologistX: https://x.com/consciousgyneSend Dr. Ovadia a Text Message. Send me a Text Message!James says that you are a kind of first-fruits of God's creative work. His work in you, in the midst of the trouble, His work in you is a first-fruit of His creative work. Think about that for a moment. You are a first-fruit. You're not a remnant; you're His firstfruits. What do I mean by that? Sometimes in scattering times. When persecution comes and following Jesus is hard, we start thinking I'm all that's left. All that's left is a remnant. It's a mindset that says, I have to hang on to what I got with all I got. On the show today, a judge has ruled that messages between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift can be handed over to Justin Baldoni as part of his ongoing legal battle with Blake. Here’s exactly what that means.Plus, Hailey Bieber has been photographed without her engagement ring, but here’s exactly why there is more to this story than just another Justin Bieber divorce plot. And Tammy Hembrow has confirmed that she and Matt Zukowski are divorcing via a very emotional video. There’s a very specific way she chose to share the news, and people’s opinions are divided over the whole story (including our hosts).LOVE THE SPILL?If celeb breakups are your thing, listen to this ep about to big supposed celeb splits...Listen here if you're fascinated by the Blake and Justin saga...if you're Team Hailey, hear the story behind her epic beauty brand sale...GET IN TOUCH:Do you have feedback or a topic you want us to discuss on The Spill? I didn't pick these books expecting them to shake up my perspective. But they did. In this episode, I walk through Working Days by John Steinbeck, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, and Cultish by Amanda Montell—three very different books that ended up revealing something essential about how we live, what we believe, and what we hide from ourselves. If you're looking for thoughtful, honest reads that might nudge you toward new ways of seeing, this one's for you.Send Me a Text Message with Your QuestionsIMPORTANT LINKS:

(0:00) Matt McCarthy begins the final hour of the show by giving the Red Sox Public Relations team some praise over their media availability the night of the Rafael Devers trade. (8:18) Top Sports Venue Destinations - McCarthy asks the people, "Which sports venues are on the bucket list to visit?" McTakey has the epiphany that baseball stadiums and golf courses make up the majority of his answer by highlighting the disparity between the different sports and their respective venues. (22:41) David Ortiz posts to social media text messages sent to Raffy Devers that went without a response that were time-stamped during the beginning portion of the season. Ortiz was offering advice to Devers - who had been struggling to start the season. Devers hits 2-run HR against former teammate, Brayan Bello live during Game 2 of series. Send me a Text Message! We will miss the thriving life God has for us if we believe that the best way to find life is to avoid suffering at all costs. Isn't that James message in the first words of his letter to the scattered? See I wonder, if the question that people in James' day were wrestling with was the same question we ask in hard times? Is God good? Can I trust Him? If I say yes to God, is He going to mess up my life or give me life? And then we hear James says, “Count it pure joy when you run into trials and troubles." Welcome problems like a friend. Why in the world would we do this? We would only do it if indeed hard times bring the good life.

Send me a Text Message! In this episode, Mike opens the portal to a deeper understanding of how your nervous system influences every aspect of your life and business. He shares how survival-based programming, triggered by things like money, safety, and uncertainty, keeps visionary leaders stuck in emotional overdrive. Through powerful insights and real-life stories, Mike reveals how to shift from sympathetic fight-or-flight responses into the parasympathetic nervous system — the frequency of peace, presence, and creation. This is a call to emotional mastery and inner sovereignty, especially for those building purpose-driven lives.Key TakeawaysYou Experience Life Through Energy, Not Events The nervous system is the filter for your reality — how you feel determines how you perceive.Survival Mode Is a Trauma Loop, Not a Truth Most people react to outdated danger patterns even when they're safe and supported.Money Doesn't Regulate Safety — You Do Arbitrary bank account “safety numbers” trigger unnecessary fight-or-flight responses.Mastery Means Detaching Emotion from Outcome Building your life or business to soothe emotions leads to self-sabotage and burnout.Creation Mode Requires Emotional Sovereignty True wealth begins when you choose peace over panic — when you shift from reaction to creation.Notable Quotes“You don't experience the outside world. You experience life through your central nervous system.”“The reason for running a business is not to manage your body. We're here to manage our body separately from our business.”“Most people are bouncing from thing to thing… looking for that emotion, looking for that circumstance that's finally going to bring them to peace.”“Just because your bank account goes down does not mean that your body needs to go into fight or flight.”““Running your life, running your business in survival mode is trying to keep your emotions in check, trying to be OK.”Music Credit: "What's Left of Me" by Wes Hoffman & FriendsJoin the RevolutionThis episode is a wake-up call for every visionary still building from survival mode. If your nervous system feels like it's running the show — triggered by numbers, chasing peace through outcomes — it's time to reclaim your inner authority. Send me a Text Message! The bible talks so much about joy. It's all over Jesus' words just before the cross, in John 14-17. He talks about bringing joy as part of his overall purpose. Paul talks a lot about joy. And James leads with it in his letter to those who are scattered. It's almost like, joy is at the heart of God's plan for his people, his family. When James writes, "consider it pure joy when you face trials," it's almost like joy is in the non-optional category. It's almost like joy is a command. And if joy is a command, do you know what that means? It means joy must be a choice.Does it bother you a bit, when I say, "we can choose joy?" Regardless of our circumstances, our setting, our hard times, can I choose joy?
