One of the grosser stories we've lived through over the last several years is that of That 70's Show actor Danny Masterson, who has now been convicted of raping two women in 2003. Especially problematically, he and his victims are members of the Church of Scientology, and prosecutors made a strong case that the church itself worked hard to keep the survivors of his assault quiet for nearly two decades. Since 2004, he's been the boyfriend of and then husband of actress, model, and singer Bijou Phillips, daughter of John Phillips, who responded to his conviction 2023 conviction by filing for divorce. Yes, it's now 2025, and no, not one part of this story is yet wrapped up.  Want early, ad-free episodes, regular Dumpster Dives, bonus divorces, limited series, Zoom hangouts, and more? In Scientology, being declared a "Suppressive Person" (SP) is a significant and highly negative designation. It is a form of excommunication or shunning within the Church of Scientology.Definition: A Suppressive Person, according to Scientology doctrine, is someone who actively works against the Church, its principles, and its practices. This could involve publicly criticizing Scientology, its leadership, or its beliefs.Consequences: When someone is declared an SP, they are considered to be a pariah within the Scientology community. Scientologists are instructed to disconnect from SPs, which means cutting off all communication and association with them, even if they are family members or close friends. This practice is designed to isolate and ostracize the individual.Ethical Handling: The Church believes that declaring someone an SP is a form of "ethical handling" to protect the church and its members from perceived threats. They see SPs as destructive influences and potential sources of harm.Rehabilitation: In some cases, the Church may offer a route to redemption for individuals declared SPs, typically involving extensive auditing and training to re-enter good standing within the organization. This process is known as "Atonement" or "Amends Project."Controversy: The practice of declaring someone an SP and enforcing disconnection has been highly controversial. Critics argue that it is a form of control and manipulation that can result in family estrangement and emotional distress. After being convicted of rape charges, Danny Masterson has now been declared a suppressive person by Scientology according to sources.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com(commercial at 9:26)source:EXCLUSIVE: Danny Masterson is expelled from Scientology and declared a 'suppressive person' - requiring members, including wife Bijou Phillips, to cut all ties with actor | Daily Mail OnlineThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5003294/advertisement

The Detroit Lions are Super Bowl bound again. They move to 2-1 after beating the Atlanta Falcons. Eli Zaret joins us in studio to discuss Michigan's boring win over Rutgers, shake his head over MSU losing to Maryland, more Mel Tucker rumors, Ohio State out coaching Notre Dame, Ryan Day wanting to fight 86-year-old Lou Holtz, Colorado getting Buffaloed by Oregon, rooting against DeShaun Watson, gambling on the NFL from inside the stadiums, Miami Dolphins scoring 70 points, and the first non-kicker female college football player. The Oakland A's gave Miguel Cabrera a cheap and questionable gift. Brandon is out with Covid, but at least he has his chocolate milk. Usher is going to play the Super Bowl halftime show. It was announced in the most annoying way.  Taylor Swift's in the Kelce family box at the Kansas Chief game. Insert "Travis/Taylor Box" joke here. Kim Kardashian thinks she's an actor now. Jim Costa is the new morning host with Jon Jansen on 97.1. Some people are saying Jason Carr Drive is cruising on over to WOMC.  Why couldn't Kast Media not pay us what they aren't paying their podcasters? New Washington Post-ABC poll has Trump crushing Biden by 10 points.  Joe Biden had a gaffe filled weekend, including renaming LL Cool J. Britney isn't allowed to do interviews for her new book. She turned down 60 Minutes. We decide to revisit her classic interview with sock-less Matt Lauer. The Globe said Howard Stern and Beth are headed for divorce. Donald Trump finally responds to "broken weirdo" Howard Stern after repeated comments on his SiriusXM show. Not-a-Prince Harry and Meghan attend a Kevin Costner fundraiser. Some people are saying they didn't donate any money.  They also demanded NDA's from first graders. One thing is for certain: Harry loves being away from her. The Mayor of Malibu is really mad at Kourtney Kardashian.  North West isn't a name, but is a girl. She also might not be a painter. There are hot whining Supermodels on Apple TV+.  Gisele Bundchen whined about how bad her life was with Tom Brady and as a young model on CBS Sunday Morning, aka The Old-Man Show. UAW is striking differently this time and it might backfire. Shawn Fain has invited Joe Biden to shuffle the picket line. Trump is coming to town to talk to UAW members. The Talking Heads gave an awkward interview together on CBS Sunday Morning.  There are still more new Russell Brand accusations.  There's an interesting reason why it took awhile for the allegation to become public. Nicki Minaj's husband has been sentenced to mansion arrest after making an idiot of himself outside Offset's apartment. Name five Chris Brown songs. Danny Masterson soon-to-be-ex Bijou Phillips had a wacky childhood. Pauly Shore really wants to play Richard Simmons in a biopic. Amy Robach & TJ Holmes celebrate one year of blowing up their families. Her NewsNation comeback isn't going too great. Josh Safdie's muse Julia Fox still has a podcast, but it's not as good as Pacman Jones podcast because he has puppets. Some nut went full Hulk Mode over a golf ball. He has since been banned from the course. Meanwhile, a "my man" took a naked stroll in the Dallas airport. Unrepentant Mackenzie Shirilla got a light sentence for killing two people. Twitter fight: Maz v. ML, Mel Tucker fires back at MSU, YouTube demonetizes Russell Brand, Thomas Markle's “final” TV interview, Bijou Phillips divorces Danny Masterson, a new boner army, and we call people to tell them their phone number was on TV. Thanks to everyone who has subscribed to the YouTube page. We're now chasing Mike Valenti. Mel Tucker popped off on MSU today because they are firing him. He's in scorched earth mode. ML's Soul of Detroit spoke to Kenny Jacoby, the reporter from the USA Today who covered the scandal. Coach Prime and Colorado are rocking and rolling and everybody's watching. Boner Army Alert: Alexis Loomans. Miss Wisconsin and Florida QB girlfriend. NFL injuries: Detroit Lion CJ Gardner-Johnson… out for the year with a torn pec. James Houston… out for 8 weeks with a broken ankle. Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb's knee got torn in half during MNF. Deshaun Watson sucks at football now. Tom Mazawey vs ML Elrick: Battle over Spartan Stadium. A bunch of Brazilian med students jerked it on a volleyball court during a women's game. Our YouTube winner is revealed as ________________. The Russell Brand pile-on continues. Brand has some defenders. His YouTube channel has been demonetized following accusations. He was once handsy with Katharine McPhee. Kristen Bell wasn't having any of his nonsense. He totally dumped Katy Perry via text message. Brand and that beast, Meghan Markle, totally made out. We got our very first YouTube strike. Oops. Take a listen to one of the best Tom Mabe phone calls. We call several phone numbers that were put on blast by Fox's football pre-game show. The Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC are considering joining forces. Music: Some people are challenging Jim Bentley's best guitar solos. Drew discovered a whole bunch cover songs by U2. Drew is also liking the super deluxe demos from The Who. An Ann Arbor hotel gets the 1-star review treatment. Poor Thomas Markle is treated so terribly by his family (his daughter Meghan). He just did his “final” TV interview. Julie Chen-Moonves has a boring new book coming out. Love is dead as Bijou Phillips files for divorce from Danny Masterson after his sentencing. Britney Spears is dumb and makes a 2-month-old trend all about her. Don't worry about her, she's still spinnin'. Politics: Donald Trump would write to-do lists on classified documents. Joe Biden remains old as dirt. Hunter Biden received money from Romania as well. The Senate drops their dress code because John Fetterman can only wear hoodies and shorts. Howard Stern is pretty prude about the Lauren Boebert situation given his past. Speaking of which, Boebert dumps the groper. Ray Epps has finally been charged with something in his involvement in January 6th. He is also suing Fox News. Happy Pride, y'all! We hope this month is super duper uncomfortable for all the homophobes out there! In this episode, we're scratching our heads over a [failed] Target boycott of a few people who are appalled by the idea of merchandise that would promote the idea of loving everyone, even *GASP* those different from us. Don't worry, we end with a recommendation of a place where only love and acceptance are flourishing (sure, you'll have to go back on Facebook for a hot sec but it's worth it). But before we get to that, we have to talk Danny Masterson being found guilty and the strange coincidence of Bijou Phillips — her dad and husband share a not-so-great trait...? Also, politics. What is Title 8 and how is it rooted in misogyny? Marty Puccio (Brad Renfro) and Bobby Kent (Nick Stahl) have been friends since they were little kids. For as long as Marty can remember, Bobby has picked on him; punching him, ordering him around, making him do things he doesn't want to do. The two meet Ali (Bijou Phillips) and Lisa (Rachel Minder). Marty and Lisa fall in love, but Bobby eventually rapes both of the girls, which proves to be the last straw of Bobby's bullying. With the help of several other friends, the trio decide that killing Bobby would be the best way to enact their revenge. Bully is based off the book "Bully: A True Story of High School Revenge" by Jim Schutze, which in itself, is based off the real-life events in 1993 of the teens who lived in Hollywood, Florida. The events depicted are raw and edgy because the film stays very close to the source material. The murder scene is arguably the best scene in the movie as it shows how kids, unacquainted with this sort of action, would react when trying to knock someone off. Murder is hard, messy work, and the teens immediately devolve into arguments and finger-pointing. Release Year: 2001Genre: CrimeStarring: Brad Renfro, Nick Stahl, and Bijou Phillips.TrailerSummary: A pack of naïve teenagers conspire to murder a mutual friend, whose aggressive demeanor has proved too much. Abigail - Biting My Nails (1976) Co-written by John Phillips and his wife at the time, Genevieve Waite. Abigail was a sex symbol in Australia, and she appeared in Mel Gibson's first film, "Summer City" in 1977. She played the part of "woman in pub".    Barclay James Harvest - Child Of The Universe (1974) Barclay James Harvest - Loving is Easy (1978) Barclay James Harvest - Mocking Bird (1971) I don't get how a band like this got to record for such a long time. They really do rely on cliché after cliché. The Moodies are very similar, but there was a kind of charm in their records that just doesn't exist here. It's like a cross between Trans-Siberia Orchestra and America.  Devo - Mongoloid (1977) Band name subtitled "The D-Evolution Band" on labels. "Jocko-Homo" - from the soundtrack of "In the Beginning Was the End.. (the truth about DE-EVOLUTION)" a film by Chuck Statler. Chuck Statler, arguably the godfather of the music video, is a pioneer who directed music films for upstart record labels and emerging superstars like Elvis Costello, Madness, and DEVO before MTV’s existence.  Electric Light Orchestra - Beatles Forever (1982) Jeff Lynne: "It's 'cause it's so fawning, y'know. It's so over the top, y'know. Um... maybe one day it'll come out. I'd like to sort of redo it or something." Recorded for their Secret Messages album, which was originally intended to be a double album. This track didn't make it onto what turned out to be another 4/4 sunny dirgefest. I didn't even buy their last record.  In Buffalo, there used to be a TV station (1977-78) called MICR, on which you could see local announcements being posted bulletin-board style, in rolling text on a screen. While that was happening, a guy would spin tunes. So...a guy was playing a song that seemed to reach into my primordial soul. It was like a dream that came true. It was "One Summer Dream" by Electric Light Orchestra. I called the DJ and he (Bill Elliot maybe?) obliged me, live on TV, with 3 or 4 more songs by this band. I remember he played "Fire On High" which I immediately recognized as the intro music to CBS Sports Spectacular (a competitor to Wide World of Sports on ABC). Thus began my 4-year allegiance to all things ELO. I scarfed down their entire discography. Learned much. I know the year because he told me that their new album was coming out soon. A double album! I just liked the sound. Those doubled Ovation guitars, the safe arrangements, the real orchestra. It really inspired me/us the same way Rush, King Crimson, The Beatles had.  Ella Fitzgerald - It's Up To Me and You (1968) She didn't write too many songs herself, but she DID write this one, a paean to MLK, in the wake of his murder.  Barclay James Harvest - Beyond The Grave (1975) Genevieve Waite - Biting My Nails (1974) Geneviève Waite, a South African actress, singer and former model, married John Phillips on 31 January 1972, and they had two children, Tamerlane Phillips and Bijou Phillips. They divorced in 1985. She died in 2019. Listening to this album reminds me of listening to the Gayle Moran album I Loved You Then...I Love You Now. The feeling that I am the only person in the world listening to this at this particular moment. But no more! Now YOU are listening as well.  Devo - Mongoloid (1978) Album version  Genevieve Waite - Love is coming back (1974) Genevieve Waite - Times of Love (1974) Gunhill Road - 42nd Street (1971) Gunhill Road or Gun Hill Road. Gunhill Road issued one album on Kama Sutra Records, which was produced by Kenny Rogers. The album was issued twice because at the time, the drug references made in the song 'Back When My Hair Was Short' were frowned upon. So a new version was recorded, and the album was reissued with different sequencing. To no effect. Except for the Top 40 hit. Which is to say, it reached #40.  Gunhill Road - Back When My Hair Was Short (1972) Original nasty version.  Gunhill Road - Baked Bean Band (1971) Genevieve Waite - Mr. Blue (1974) Paul McCartney - I'll Give You a Ring (1982) Renegade Soundwave - Biting My Nails (1989) The Primitives - The Ostrich (1964) Lou Reed's first group with John Cale was the Primitives, a short-lived group assembled to support an anti-dance single penned by Reed, "The Ostrich". I never liked Lou Reed, Nico, The Velvet Underground, or anything related. I think that "Walk On The Wild Side" would have been another joyless dirge if it were not for my man Bowie. On Pickwick Records whaaaaa? John Phillips - Let It Bleed, Genevieve (1970) From the only record he released in his lifetime, The Wolf King of LA.   John Phillips - Mr. Blue (1975?) Recorded with members of the Stones.  The "bands" Tribe and King's Road made soundalikes for the Pickwick label, and they are notable for their ham-handed attempts to capture the energy of the original "happenings" with fake crowd noise and announcements. I love them.  Tribes - I Think I Love You (1970) Tribes - Mama Told Me Not To Come (1970) Tribes - Mississippi (1970) Tribes - Question (1970) In the tradition of... Barclay James Harvest - Taking Some Time On (1970) These two record covers.  So THIS was the record we had when we were kids. What a scam!! The Tribes became Tribes became Tribe.  Naughty Pickwick Records.
