The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association recently announced it is moving the state's high school football and field hockey championship games away from the University of Delaware – primarily citing the costs of holding football title games at Delaware Stadium and the field hockey final at UD's Rullo Stadium. But some bitterness seems to be lurking beneath what seems to be a straightforward financial decision, with UD posting publicly on social media its disappointment with the move and laying out how much profit DIAA made last year with those events in Newark.Delaware Public Media's Tom Bryne examines the decision and what lies ahead with News Journal/Delaware Online sportswriter Kevin Tresolini.

Diaa has been very outspoken about what he sees as the misguided practices of other AI+music companies that train their models by just scraping the web. At Soundful, they've taken a different approach: they are painstakingly building their own proprietary data by recording musicians playing one note at a time and then layering the notes to create music that sounds better than if you'd just sampled songs. “We've done it. There is a way where technological advancement and working with the rights-holders and protecting them can co-exist together.” We discuss:* Why Diaa stands with the music industry against what he sees as other companies' move fast & break things approach to AI * Diaa's background as a classical musician, DJ, ghost producer, and founder* How Soundful built its data and how it layers sounds together to make music* Soundful's origin story and how it emerged from Diaa's work with AI and marketing automation* Why humans are so important when making music * Why music theory rules are important to follow – except when they're not!* What to expect next… and how incredible AI voice cloning has become***CRAFTED. is brought to you in partnership with Docker, which helps developers build, share, run and verify applications anywhere – without environment confirmation or management. Deep-Dive: U.S. blood and treasure for “vaccine” passports, now, “digital war ‘passports' in Ukraine? The problem in ALWAYS our freedom, the solution is ALWAYS their control. On this Memorial Day, there is hidden news on Ukraine and our troops deserve to have us pressuring the government to admit why our armed forces are being put at risk, because it's not for freedom or independence. The hidden news is this: It turns out, one of The Party's key solution for people in Ukraine is the same as one of their key “solutions” for The Covid Flu: digital passports sponsored by Google, Visa and your tax dollars through USAID … oh, one of the “features” of the passports is one can get their bribe money for getting injected with mRNA. On this Memorial Day, we owe our troops these questions. We will also look back on our exclusive talk with retired Lt. General Boykin and his view at the time on Ukraine, the CCP and our military readiness. What does God's Word say? 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.Matthew 24:6-13 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.Revelation 13:11-17The Beast out of the Earth11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.Episode 857 Links:· The USAID-sponsored, Visa and Google assisted Diaa app not only forces Ukrainian into a digital ID panopticon, it encourages them to snitch on fellow citizens, reporting them as Russian collaborators so they can be arrested and disappeared.· Visa executive chair Al Kelly explains how his corporation helped Ukraine expand its Diia e-governance app by making it a platform for government "incentive payments for Covid vaccinations" - Was US aid used to bribe Ukrainians to get the jab?· Croatia's member of the European Parliament: “Today it would be safer to sign contracts with the Colombian drug cartels than with the World Health Organization.· Microsoft Adds Mandatory System-Wide Artificial Intelligence Engine “Windows Copilot” to Windows 11, Promising “Helpfulness.” Exactly How Will Your Data be Analyzed? 4Patriotshttps://4patriots.comProtect your family with food kits, solar generators and more at 4Patriots. 75 years ago this week, British colonial rule ended in India. Two new nations emerged - Muslim-majority Pakistan and Hindu-majority India. But that freedom was followed by chaos and bloodshed. Partition triggered a mass migration across a shared border, as millions of Muslims fled to Pakistan and millions of Hindus and Sikhs fled to India. Violent attacks happened on both sides of the border. An estimated one million people were killed. Pakistan and India still grapple with the repercussions of Partition and the effects are still felt today. NPR's Lauren Frayer tells us about an effort to heal some of those old wounds by reconnecting elderly survivors of Partition with the homes and villages they haven't seen in decades. You probably don't have to think too hard to recall the early days of the coronavirus lockdowns. When all we wanted was an excuse to get out of our homes, bikes became that excuse. You could head out your front door and get some exercise while maintaining your social distance. It was the perfect pandemic escape. And so it was no big surprise when bike sales skyrocketed. One would think that it would be a great time to be in the cycling business. Instead, a global economy dealing with supply chain delays, factory shutdowns, and parts shortages meant that there was no supply to meet the demand. Not exactly what any business owner would call ideal. Our guest today is Diaa Nour, founder of Ventum, a direct-to-consumer bike brand out of Heber City, Utah. Ventum first burst onto the scene with their triathlon bike, turning heads with its signature Z-shaped frame. From there they quickly expanded their lineup to include road and gravel bikes to mirror national trends. Diaa has big plans on the horizon for Ventum, but before he can accomplish those goals he's got to maneuver around the global supply chain backup just like the rest of us. Listen in as we cover everything from why starting a bike company was way more difficult than he initially assumed, why he prioritized sponsoring female triathletes in an effort to level the gender wage gap between men and women, and why he chose to partner the brand with perhaps the most polarizing figure in cycling, Lance Armstrong.

Morning Call

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 25, 2022 3:53

MundoMercados globais amanhecem mistos (EUA -0,6% e Europa +1,2%) enquanto investidores ainda avaliam riscos e consequências do avanço das tropas russas no território ucraniano.

Diaa Hadid works as an international correspondent for NPR in Islamabad, Pakistan. Previously, she worked for the Associated Press from 2006-2015 and the New York Times from 2015-2017. Prior to working with NPR, she reported on the middle east for over a decade. She now lives in Islamabad with her husband and daughter. In 2019, Diaa and her team won the Murrow Award, a journalism award, for her piece on why and how Pakistan has the highest rate of abortion in the world. This conversation spans her upbringing in Australia born to a Lebanese father and Egyptian mother, the pursuit of career and life outside of her Muslim family, the transformation of identity, the logistics of journalism in Pakistan, peculiar details around the story on Pakistan and abortion as it pertains to women’s rights and culture, the details around another story on Israel's youngest prisoner, a 12-year-old Palestinian girl who got her first period while being interrogated, and other fascinating journalistic investigations that tell much bigger stories about women in the world. It is because of Diaa’s tenacious curiosity, that such important and fascinating stories are shared with the West. Because the range of topics are so impressive, I will list some of them below. Diaa has documented the collapse of Gadhafi's rule in Libya from the capital, Tripoli. From Beirut, she was the first to report on widespread malnutrition and starvation inside a besieged rebel district near Damascus. She unraveled the mysterious murder of a militant commander, discovering that he was killed for being gay. In Syria, she met the last great storyteller of Damascus, whose own trajectory of loss reflected that of his country. In Libya, she profiled a synagogue that once was the beating heart of Tripoli's Jewish community. In Lebanon, she chronicled how poverty was pushing Syrian refugee women into survival sex. In Baghdad, she met women who risked their lives to visit beauty salons in a quiet rebellion against extremism and war. In Cairo, she wrote of revolutionary upheaval sweeping Egypt. She covered the violence of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. We are so lucky to hear these stories directory from Diaa as well as learn about her history- the history that’s not shared in public bios. This conversation is an honor and a pleasure. Enjoy. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mythogynist/message

I am really excited to say our latest guest is the Co-Founder of one of my favorite bike companies, Ventum Racing, and that is Diaa Nour! Now if you watched the 2019 IRONMAN World Championships in KONA this year then you’ll probably recall seeing Diaa interviewed during the race when the athletes were just starting out in the early km's of the Ventum Bike Course! In this quick interview, you were able to catch a glimpse of the man behind the scenes who took part in creating the first-ever design of the Ventum Bikes alongside co-founder Jimmy Seear! Now in today’s episode you’ll hear how he and Jimmy came together to take a risk and going with their guts by creating a new bike in what was a VERY niche and competitive market back in 2014! Since 2014 they have created the Ventum One which is their flagship model, their Ventum Z which is the most economical version, and their Ventum Signature which is upwards of $32,000 USD! They also JUST released a UCI Legal Ventum Road Bike called the NS1 which I am SUPER pumped to chat about because as well all know this could be a game-changer for Super League athletes and even the athletes preparing for Tokyo 2020! Diaa also dives into the latest bike initiatives they are taking on and will be coming out with new VERY exciting bike designs next year! Have a listen to find out! It’s an excellent podcast today so sit back, relax, and enjoy the episode!
