The global SaaS (Software as a Service) market is worth billions of dollars. But it won't stay there. Analysts predict that by 2032, it will exceed $1 trillion in value. But it comes as no surprise. By the end of 2024, 99% of organisations used at least one SaaS application, with an average of 112 different web tools per company. Meaning that most businesses, big and small, and from all sectors, rely on online applications as the backbone for their operations. Look over these statistics: In 2025, 85% of business apps will be subscription-based. Corporations with over 10,000 employees use around 447 online services. Between 2013 and 2020, the software as a service field grew by 500%. To date, 30,800 SaaS companies are on the market, with the United States holding the largest share. Flexibility, scalability, and accessibility are the driving forces behind this widespread adoption. These are crucial advantages, as many organisations are adapting to hybrid work and digital-first processes. In this podcast, we delve into five key areas where SaaS tools are transforming business operations. Listen to the full episode...

Most freelancers are making things hard than they need be by just "winging it" - stumbling through their business like they're lost in the woods with no GPS. But here's the thing: nearly every problem you have with your business has already been solved. The smartest minds in the world have figured out how to create predictable revenue, retain clients longer, and escape the feast-or-famine cycle. And they're doing it in one of the most lucrative industries out there: SaaS (Software as a Service). Here's what it looks like if your freelance business ran like a SaaS company: Clients paying you every month (instead of one-and-done projects). A machine that brings leads in (instead of just relying on word-of-mouth). Your entire onboarding process is automated (instead of chasing emails, contracts, or invoices). Clients stick around for years (instead of disappearing after one project). You actually know all your important numbers (instead of just going by "gut") This episode breaks down exactly how to apply these SaaS strategies to your freelance business. SaaS (Software as a Service) applications, due to their ease of launch and proliferation, have created a “perfect storm” for attackers, and a significant challenge for cybersecurity professionals. Eigenlayer is a protocol for decentralized trust, allowing anyone to build new crypto applications without worrying about the source of trust. It enables other protocols to inherit the security of Ethereum by staking ETH and running the Ethereum protocol correctly. Eigenlayer also introduces the concept of Actively Validated Services (AVS), which consume decentralized trust from the Eigenlayer ecosystem. AVSs are verifiable SaaS (Software as a Service) that provide specialized services on top of Eigenlayer. Economic security is crucial for the short-term trust in blockchain systems, while social consensus operates on a longer time scale. The conversation explores the concept of economic security and the role of institutions in managing risks. It discusses the importance of protocols having sharp measured security and the need for regularizing risks in the crypto space. The conversation also delves into the idea of open innovation and the goal of empowering better services. The second part of the conversation focuses on the interplay between objective, subjective, and intersubjective faults in blockchain systems. It explains the need to bring social truth on-chain and the mechanism of forking to determine the true version of a token. The conversation concludes by highlighting the benefits of pooling security and the importance of isolation between financial applications and forking applications. EigenLayer's core premise is to provide decentralized trust to as many different applications as possible. The Eigen token is consumed by AVSs for intersubjective false and intersubjective staking. In the event of a fault, all AVSs must decide which token to follow within a lag period. Forking occurs after the 28-day period, with each AVS switching to one of the two forks. The system ensures that faults are adjudicated by a majority vote among eigenstakers. The AVSs are compensated for any faults, and the system remains secure as long as the transaction value is less than the attributable security. The Eigen token design went through multiple iterations, with the goal of finding the right balance between order and chaos. EigenLayer's view is that decentralized trust is the raw material of the crypto economy, and trustless composability is crucial. The project aims to bridge the gap between short-term utility and long-term merit. The success of EigenLayer's ecosystem was an emergent phenomenon, driven by the principles of reducing capital costs and incentivizing adoption. Are you considering structuring your revenue model like a SaaS to maximise business valuation and sustainability? Sean Tepper explored the importance of reshaping your business revenue model for long-term sustainability and increased business valuation. The main takeaway was the significance of transforming your service-based business into a recurring revenue model, similar to SaaS (Software as a Service). Sean's experience shed light on the challenges of running a project-based agency, where revenue relied solely on landing new projects. This led to a constant hustle for new projects and a lack of predictability in revenue flow. It became clear that structuring the business model to offer monthly recurring services would have resulted in a more sustainable and scalable venture. The transition to a SaaS model not only offers a more predictable revenue stream but also enhances the overall business valuation. By providing customers with a monthly recurring value, businesses can build a membership-like engagement, ensuring a steady flow of revenue and a loyal customer base. So, how can you evolve your service-based business into a recurring revenue model? What steps can you take to structure your revenue model to reflect the benefits of a SaaS offering? This was inspired by none other than Mr. Pat Flynn, a friend and recent guest on the Happy Hustle Podcast. Pat is the guru of smart passive income, and our conversation got me thinking about the various ways one can create income streams that practically run on autopilot. Now, I say "almost" passive because, let's be real, you'll need to put in some elbow grease initially to set them up. But once the wheels are turning, you can sit back, relax, and watch the magic happen. These income streams can grant you more creative freedom, time freedom, and of course, that sweet, sweet financial freedom. Here are the 14 almost passive income streams that can change your life:Online Courses: Share your expertise and knowledge by creating online courses. Once they're up and running, they can generate income while you sip your morning coffee.Recurring Memberships: Build a loyal community with recurring membership models. Your tribe pays monthly for valuable content or services.Affiliates: Partner with companies and promote their products. Your portfolio can turn into a dividend-producing cash cow.SaaS (Software as a Service): Create and sell software or apps that provide solutions to specific problems. Subscriptions can lead to steady income.YouTube Channel: Turn your passion into profits by starting a YouTube channel. Ad revenue and sponsorships can roll in once you build an audience.Revenue Share in Business: Invest in businesses and get a share of the profits. It's like owning a piece of the pie without the day-to-day hassles.Royalties: If you're a creative genius, royalties from your music, books, or inventions can provide a continuous stream of income.Interest from Savings & Bonds: Put your money to work in savings accounts or bonds.
