"Disclaimer: I'm not at all suicidal, and if any discourse herein convinces you suicide's a good option for you, you probably went wrong somewhere."Community challenge!"Sorry if this reads like a paralysis question; it's relevant to how I might live out the faith to which I'm in the process of converting: Would suicide violate UPB so long as anyone in creation loved or depended upon the person committing it? I should think that would definitely constitute forcing a win/lose situation. What if we're given that, and also, literally no other party would be immediately affected? The suicide would, I guess, "only" be depriving the world of some potential utility they could provide. There are people like this today (from a secular perspective). Is it just then kind of a lame and ugly thing to do (i.e, not aesthetically preferable) and far from being really wrong?""How can a smart writer write dumb characters? Can a professional gifted painter paint something similar to what a 5-year-old would paint or similar to an inexperienced adult's painting? Can Freddy sing badly? Can Gilmour play guitar like he never held one in his hands before?""Funding your enemies:"I pay for a YouTube Premium subscription. The main benefit is no ads, which saves time. And YT also has the widest range of video content on a range of subjects. "However - I also view YT as a corrupt organization that has censored and defamed good people including the one and only Stefan Molyneux"Am I not supporting my enemy? "I could cancel my premium subscription, but then end up paying with my time by watching ads (and driving CPM ad revenue for YT at the same time). "More broadly, how should I think about 'funding my enemies'? When (if ever) is this moral or just?"Thanks Stef

In this episode of The Blueprint Podcast, Jason welcomes Ciara Devereux, a licensed psychotherapist, trauma, grief, and loss specialist, and public speaker based in San Francisco. With a background spanning addiction recovery, post-incarceration rehabilitation, and relationship counseling, Ciara brings a wealth of experience to the conversation. She shares how her own personal journey led her into the mental health space, emphasizing the importance of radical self-ownership and the power of rewriting the stories we tell ourselves. Together, Jason and Ciara dive deep into why people-pleasing keeps so many stuck in cycles of external validation and self-sacrifice. They explore the hidden cost of avoiding conflict, the role of shame in shaping identity, and how unprocessed emotions often manifest as anger, anxiety, and avoidance. Ciara introduces the concept of “if you spot it, you got it,” explaining how our triggers reveal deep-seated wounds and offer opportunities for growth. The discussion shifts to relationships and attachment, breaking down the anxious-avoidant cycle and why so many people mistake familiarity for love. Ciara challenges the narrative of waiting for external validation and explains why true transformation begins with internal work. She also provides insight into why boundary-setting is difficult and how men, in particular, struggle to advocate for their own needs due to societal conditioning. As the conversation unfolds, Jason and Ciara examine grief, trauma, and the misconceptions surrounding healing. They discuss why grief is often misunderstood, how to recognize its presence in everyday life, and why people unknowingly carry unresolved loss into relationships and decision-making. Ciara shares strategies for self-regulation, including how shifting internal narratives can create a foundation for lasting change. The episode concludes with an exploration of the future of mental health and the shift toward self-healing. Ciara emphasizes the need for emotional literacy, particularly for men, and highlights the importance of building real-life community and mentorship. She challenges the traditional approach to therapy, advocating for a more holistic and empowering model that places individuals in control of their own healing. For those looking to connect with Ciara, she can be found on TikTok and Instagram under RealTalkTherapy. She also offers coaching for individuals navigating relational distress and personal transformation. In this lecture, Stefan Molyneux discusses the philosophical underpinnings of rights, human nature, and governance, critiquing the concept of natural rights as subjective constructs without universal validity. He emphasizes self-ownership and personal accountability, arguing that viewing health care as a "right" undermines property rights. Molyneux examines the relationship between authority and individual responsibility, suggesting that societal structures can enable the evasion of accountability. Through personal examples, he advocates for a shift towards recognizing objective realities of self-ownership to foster a more just and responsible society.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free! Also get the Truth About the French Revolution, the interactive multi-lingual philosophy AI trained on thousands of hours of my material, private livestreams, premium call in shows, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2022
In this episode, I delve into self-ownership, societal dynamics, and personal responsibility. We discuss "mansplaining," highlighting how it can obscure knowledge gaps, and critique the current political landscape as a battleground of propaganda rather than genuine discourse. I analyze gender dynamics, comparing financial and sexual exploitation and examining societal expectations that hinder authentic connections. Emphasizing personal accountability, I argue that societal dysfunction originates in individual choices and urge listeners to confront uncomfortable truths. We briefly explore philosophical arguments for the existence of God, expressing skepticism about claims of divine knowledge. The episode wraps with a critique of the welfare system, framing it as a means for privileged individuals to feel virtuous without real accountability. Ultimately, I call on listeners to embrace responsibility for true societal change.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!
"My marriage is about to break up""Hello Stefan, I really need help. I desperately don't want my family to break up."My wife has recently told me that her opinion of me has changed, that she doesn't love me like she once did. This is not without cause, we have been having constant fights as of late and also the first year of my three year old's life was very taxing on the both of us which was the first sign of turmoil in our relationship. I am completely torn up because I don't want to do to my two boys what my wife and I went through (our parents divorced when we were toddlers). This was both of our doings since we have mishandled the rough start of parenthood and neglected our relationship, but ultimately (as my wife pointed out) this was my doing because I failed to be the leader of the family. I hope to have my wife on the call. We as a couple need an outside and unbiased party to point out the shortcomings and failures of our relationship. Stefan this is a desperate plea. I hope to find a path to repair and restore the relationship with my wife. I love her dearly and want to see through to the end the raising of our kids. Thank you."GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!

Over the last decade, as physicians have increasingly turned to employed practice to cope with declining reimbursement and increased administrative requirements, our role in advocacy has diminished. Doctors are afraid to speak out because we fear being fired and losing our livelihoods. But without physician advocacy, corporate interests, academic centers, and government agencies are increasingly making decisions contrary to the best interests of patients, including replacing physicians with nonphysician practitioners. It is time for physicians to step up and take back control of healthcare decisions, and one of the best ways to do this is through self-ownership. PhysiciansForPatientProtection.org

Great questions from locals supporters! Please come by and join our community!"Hey Steph. I'm married but sometimes I think I could have done better and then I overthink it. I question my choices, wonder if I made a mistake getting married and then feel guilt and shame as a result. I'm constantly rehashing these questions and it's torture. Can you shed some light on the path out of this cycle? We've been together over a decade, we have a one year old and I want to find peace.""Is it always both parties fault when a marriage fails? What if a wife commits moral abuse? Refuses sex, refuses pulling her weight inside of the home, while the husband is dependable, reliable and good to his wife and family? What about incentives? A large percentage of marriage ends in divorce, while 70-90% of the time wives initiate the divorce. Almost 90% of custody goes to mothers, while 95% of the alimony payers are men. Coupled with double standards in society between men and women, is it fair to just say to the men that they chose wrong? Think about the restaurant workers during the pandemic, who found themselves in a position where they were earning more money with unemployment benefits and stimulus money compared to what they would earn if they returned to work. Even if they had the virtue of hard work, the incentives influenced them to stay home. Is it possible that a man can make a decent choice in who he marries, but the Overton window is working against his best interests? There is a proverb that says that telling lies is as harmful as hitting with a rock, wounding with a sword, or shooting with a sharp arrow. So my interpretation is, moral abuse, sexual abuse, emotional, verbal abuse can be just as harmful as physical abuse. If a woman is struggling post relationship mentally with the fallout of a long term physically abuse relationship, would we be insensitive and tell her that she just chose wrong, and their must have been something that she did to contribute to the demise of the relationship. Is this an unreasonable set of questions to ask, or yet again, a failure to take personal responsibility?"Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Get my new series on the Truth About the French Revolution, access to the audiobook for my new book 'Peaceful Parenting,' StefBOT-AI, private livestreams, premium call in shows, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2022

Discussed in this episode of Your Ultimate Life Podcast with host Kellan Fluckiger and guest Marsha VanWynsburghe (MarshaVanW across social media): The importance of ownership and taking responsibility for our choices.Recognizing that we don't have control over everything and learning to respond to circumstances. The power of focusing on our decisions rather than our circumstances. The role of blame and its relation to the inability to create change.Choosing happiness and focusing on the right aspects of life.Marsha's personal journey through her children's struggles with substance abuse and how it led to her growth and understanding of ownership. The concept of codependency and recognizing the need for self-care.Slow, stacked actions helped Marsha respond differently to her circumstances. The importance of allowing children to own their choices and learn from failures.Marsha shares her personal journey through her children's struggles with substance abuse and how it led to her growth and understanding of ownership. They also discuss the importance of self-care, codependency, and allowing children to learn from their failures. They examined the challenges of navigating teen substance abuse and its impact on family dynamics. As a parent, she sought help and tried to maintain an appearance of control, but it took a moment of realization and the advice of a crisis counselor to understand that she couldn't fix, manage, or control her children's lives. Instead, she learned to take ownership of her own actions, build herself up, and respond differently to difficult situations.Kellan and Marsha discussed how overcoming personal challenges and sharing vulnerable stories can lead to growth and healing for ourselves and others. Drawing from their experiences, they emphasized the importance of acknowledging and learning from difficult situations rather than avoiding them. Marsha noted that as she began to share her story, she discovered a new sense of purpose and a desire to help others navigate their own challenges. This journey has led to a successful podcast, books, and speaking engagements, all aimed at empowering others to embrace their own stories and use their unique gifts to contribute positively to the world. To learn more about what Marsha is doing, you can find her on social media at marshavanw (https://www.instagram.com/marshavanw). Ep#135 What does it really mean to take responsibility for our life? This is the focus of today's conversation with my guest Krystal Jakoski, self ownership teacher and guide to women who are ready to "own their sh**t" and reclaim their personal power. Krystal shares her journey to accept a hard but life changing truth: that we create the lives we are living. We discuss how taking responsibility for our choices instead of assigning blame opens us up to the truth of how powerful we are to heal and transform our life. We talk about how owning our reality is about tuning in to and turning up the volume on our own guiding voice and how through compassionate self-ownership we can discover inner peace and healing. She works virtually and in person offering 1:1 holistic healing sessions, empowering online courses and personalized retreat experiences guiding people to identify and clear blockages that are holding us back from our most authentic life. Are you ready for a BTS peek into the personal relationship "failures" I've had this year? I'm getting vulnerable AF on this episode of the podcast because I wanted to share some of my experiences and observations around self-ownership in the context of relationship REPAIR. Repair is such a critical but underemphasized aspect of intimacy in relationships. Relationships are messy, and you're humxn, so both of those combined are guaranteed to have you up in some repair work soon. The good news is that conflict is an opportunity for deeper intimacy and connection when there's self-ownership and truth. It can even be a healing experience, as it was for me. In this episode I get into: What self-ownership means and looks like in action; What it feels like in your body, specifically your attachment nervous system; Why it works to deepen safety and trust in relationships.

Now, more than ever, people look for authenticity, credibility, and trust in their leaders. In this Expert Insight Interview, we welcome Dr. Risa Ryger, the creator of Disruptive Self-Ownership and founder of 93% Consulting.
Original Air Date: January 25, 2021 The moment I finished this interview, I went into the next room and told Adaora: “that was the best interview ever.” She looked at me incredulously. “You say that every single time,” she said. I know and it's true and for real this was epic Let me make the case. Lucas and I had an honest, vulnerable, and powerful conversation. Right at the beginning, we discovered some similarities and connections between us that gave us both spiritual goosebumps. That set the stage and tone for a real, honest, heart-to-heart conversation. Lucas went on to share his powerful and inspiring journey. He was transparent about his ups and even his downs. Lately, I've noticed that many people tend to paint perfect pictures of their lives where everything is always going right. Lucas, on the other hand, shared his struggles in life and business with me – in the hopes that we could learn from the lessons that he's had to learn the hard way. He delivers some really valuable gifts for all of us in this interview. I really hope you will do yourself a humongous favor and listen to this conversation. And if you're not already convinced that this will be one of the best hours you can spend, then let me share a little bit more about Lucas. Lucas Tindell is an author, public speaker, corporate trainer/coach and host of a live video podcast. Lucas has spent over ten years working in key leadership positions focusing not only on organizational development but primarily on the development of people. He now serves as a leadership development consultant, working with global leaders to identify strengths and areas of development for sustainable growth and improvement. Are you ready? Let's do this.
