Are you overwhelmed by the financial side of your business? In this episode, Patti Mara speaks with Colin Sanburg, founder of FinElevate, about the rise of fractional CFOs and how they empower entrepreneurs to focus on their strengths. Discover how these experts streamline financial operations and drive profitability, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. Here's some of what you'll learn in this episode:The key criteria that FinElevate looks for in an ideal client. Why some entrepreneurs don't want to give up signing authority. The importance of identifying your dashboard KPIs.The entrepreneur motivation for freeing yourself up.What inspires Colin the most about being an entrepreneur. How to overcome analysis paralysis. Show Notes: If an entrepreneur isn't closely monitoring their financials, they're likely just wasting time. No matter how skilled you are in a specific area, you need outside perspective. Not every aspect of business suits every entrepreneur. People are happy to offload parts of their businesses that they don't like working in. A better understanding of your metrics can help you structure your business for increased productivity. The right players want the metrics of success because they want to win. Taking action does tremendous things for your psyche. Top team members are unlikely to stay if they can't access accurate metrics to evaluate their performance. You can't be your own sounding board. The only sustainable way to build an entrepreneurial business is to base it on the entrepreneur's strengths and weaknesses. Much of the financial aspect of your business relies on discipline. People are more likely to engage with a clear reflection of their hard work. If you measure it, you can manage it. If you can manage it, you can improve it. If a team member sees a disconnect between lead measures and lag measures, they'll disengage completely. Once you focus on a small set of key metrics, you'll be surprised at how much more efficient you become. About our guest:Nellie Wartoft is a Swedish technology entrepreneur who launched Tigerhall in 2019, revolutionizing how large enterprises engage their organizations to drive change at scale. Under her leadership, Tigerhall has quickly gained traction with global Fortune 500 firms undergoing transformation, and today has users across 32 countries, and employees in 12 markets. Nellie has raised over $10 million in venture capital from visionary investors including Sequoia Capital and Monk's Hill Ventures, and Tigerhall's customers include well-known enterprises in technology, consumer goods, professional services, and financial services.Prior to founding Tigerhall, Nellie was a top biller at Michael Page, where she led the Sales & Marketing practice and saw firsthand the issues in driving organizational engagement around change, and how the technology used in communications, knowledge sharing, change and transformation led to dissatisfaction, more confusion and increased disengagement. Her experience led her to launch Tigerhall, which bridges the gap between how organizations have traditionally shared information and knowledge (think ghost town Sharepoint sites, mass internal email overload and snooze fest town halls), and how people prefer to consume content and interact with each other today (think your internal Spotify, two-way live interactions and the right reinforcement in the right workflow).Nellie has been named on the 2021 Gen T list of Leaders of Tomorrow by Tatler Magazine and was recognized as one of the Top Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2023 by the International Business Times. She was also a Swedish National Champion in skeet shooting and air rifle in her teenage years.Nellie is an accomplished speaker and regularly presents at large events and global forums such as the Global CEO Exchange, Business Transformation Exchange, TEDx events, SaaSTech Asia, SMF, Cornell University and several leadership summits across the United States, Europe and Asia. She currently serves as a non-executive director on the boards of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Singapore and the SGTech Digital Transformation Chapter - the largest industry association for technology companies in Singapore.Outside of changing the way enterprises drive change, Nellie loves tennis, surfing and electronic house music. Woah--Stop scrolling! This is a MUST-LISTEN to episode today with one of the most successful, innovative, crafty, and wisest entrepreneurs of our modern time. Meet Jeff Fenster. Jeff is a serial entrepreneur who has started and sold several different companies in his career, and he's still only in his 40's. This includes his latest entrepreneurial initiatives with both EVERBOWL and WeBuild, and what he's doing with those companies to drive impact. In this powerful episode of the IMPACT SHOW, I sat down with Jeff live, in-studio as he shared his secrets to success and we dove deep into the mindset, processes, and strategies that have helped him achieve extraordinary results in both business and life. Whether you're an entrepreneur, athlete, or simply someone looking for deep personal and business growth, Jeff's journey and lessons are a goldmine. Here are some of the specific things we discussed on today's epic IMPACT SHOW podcast episode: What's the best piece of advice you ever received? Jeff's shares his “5-Step Formula for Success & Legacy.” A few of Jeff's top entrepreneurial lessons, including how he started EVERBOWL and WeBuild. What is “Kaizen” and why is it important in entrepreneurship & success. The Power of “Relationship Capital.” The Mindset of Winners. It is here that Jeff shares his perspective on success and how he stays focused on the process. Using the example of Roger Federer, who won 85% of his matches despite only winning 55% of individual points, Jeff emphasizes that the process is what drives true success. Speaking and podcasting. What does he love about both of them. Jeff talks about the balancing act of Family & Entrepreneurship. Jeff describes “Legacy & Impact” and how he will achieve both. This one will go down for the ages. There is so much wisdom in here that it would typically only be found in an MBA course at a Top-10 B-School. Haha. Jeff's wisdom dispensed proves that success isn't about luck or innate talent. It's about applying a formula that anyone can follow. Whether you're starting a business, growing your career, or working on personal development, his insights on relationships, consistency, and effort will help you create extraordinary results. If this episode served you and helped you with your mindset, entrepreneurial pursuits, or how to “balance” out business & life success, please share it with your friends and family, and tag Jeff & I. Angela and special guest, Simon Alexander Ong discuss the concept of navigating the challenging "messy middle" phase when pursuing goals. They emphasise the importance of embracing the journey, detaching from specific outcomes, and adapting to unforeseen obstacles. They also highlight the non-linear nature of progress, likening it to different seasons in life where varying challenges and growth opportunities arise KEY TAKEAWAYS Embrace the messy middle of any journey, as plans may deviate and unexpected obstacles may arise. Focus on falling in love with the journey and detach from the outcome to adapt methods and processes as needed. Recognise that there is no perfect straight line in any path and that progress may not always be linear. Understand that reality is subjective and perception determines our reality, allowing us to choose new thoughts to re-engineer our choices. Choose to view life through a positive lens, believing that the universe is conspiring in your favour, to have a more productive and positive response to unexpected events. BEST MOMENTS "I think it's a case of reminding ourselves of some basic facts that we tend to forget when we're on that journey. It's very messy in the middle." "No plan would have had that in their projections. And so I think when we consider the messy middle, first we got to realise that any plan we put together is always going to not go 100% to plan." "There is no perfect straight line in any path." "We all go through different seasons of our life, just like we go through different seasons of a year." Yes—the world's most successful entrepreneurs are mostly absolute perfectionists. If they are founders of a hotel chain, they just might delay the opening of a new property for two months if the marble they ordered for the restaurant is not the precise color. If they are a tech company founder, they'll insist on getting the product to Mona-Lisa-level exquisiteness before it's released (Steve Jobs wanted the icons on the iPhone to be so magical users would want to lick them). If they are entertainment titans, they'll be relentless in making sure that their film or album is astonishingly well made, no matter how much they have to suffer to get the job done at rare-air standards. My new book “The Wealth Money Can't Buy” is full of fresh ideas and original tools that I'm absolutely certain will cause quantum leaps in your positivity, productivity, wellness, and happiness. Inside Strategic Coach: Connecting Entrepreneurs With What Really Matters
Every great entrepreneur wants (and deserves) to have a dependable team around them so they can be freed up to develop new ideas and focus on growing their business. But how do you get one? After all, the first question most entrepreneurs ask when they join The StrategicⓇ Program is, “Where do you find such great team members?” In this episode of Inside Strategic Coach, Dan Sullivan and Shannon Waller finally answer this question in-depth. From identifying and nurturing your team's areas of Unique AbilityⓇ and creating a positive and collaborative work culture to investing in team members' growth, Dan and Shannon share everything that makes Strategic CoachⓇ a magnet for skilled and passionate talent—and how your business can become one too. Here's some of what you'll learn in this episode: The number one tool necessary for building and maintaining a great team. How to determine if an activity is right for an individual. Why Strategic Coach team members don't really need to be managed, monitored, or motivated. How Strategic Coach creates an incredible sense of safety for its team members. The two things that team members are looking for.Why you should think of hiring someone as an investment, not a cost.Show Notes: At Strategic Coach, you're always either winning or learning. There are a lot of Coach tools that support having a great team. Everybody's on their own unique growth path in terms of who they are and the kind of work they're most likely to enjoy and excel at. Strategic Coach team members can continually focus their time at work on doing what they're excited about. The moment someone is hired, Coach invests in learning about who that person is and how they can grow their skills. At Strategic Coach, if something doesn't work, the system gets blamed, not the individual. The four core values of Strategic Coach (PAGE) are: positive and collaborative teamwork; being alert, curious, responsive, and resourceful; getting results; and providing an excellent first-class experience. Strategic Coach has uniformly very helpful and very positive team members. Some Coach clients have been with the company for 15, 20, 25 years, and so have some team members. The educational system generally disparages successful business people. Almost all Coach team members are directly in contact on a person-to-person level with the company's clients. A team member can't be at their best if they don't feel safe. If you want great team members, you have to be a great entrepreneur. And that also includes being a great person. Great team members who want a bigger future aren't interested in being with someone who doesn't have any future. If you're going to be able to attract and retain the best people out there, you can't have an entitled attitude.Resources: Unique AbilityⓇ Article: Your Business Is a Theater Production: Your Back Stage Shouldn't Show On The Front Stage The Team Success Handbook by Shannon Waller Everyone And Everything Grows by Dan Sullivan Who Not How by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy

Do not miss this compilation episode of the Best Of Making Bank Series. (1:43) David Nurse If your morning routine becomes something that you have to do or the rest of your day is ruined if you don't, then you're losing the battle to that morning routine. It should just be like a supplement. It should be like a boost. That morning routine can help you, but you should not depend on it. (4:04) Brian Will Who you are can get you to where you are. But if you want to go someplace else, then you're going to have to change who you are. And you need to make a conscious decision, not an emotional one. And that conscious decision is to recognize the fact that you can't get to the next level alone and you need to bring somebody in who's going to help you do that. (7:30) Pace Morby Don't partner with anybody remotely close to your own personality style. Let people who are different from you handle your business so you can focus on other things. Secondly, never exchange time for money. Instead use your resources to be able to exchange your money for time because nothing is more precious than your time. (18:16) Matt Smith Mentorship is absolutely a cheat code and anybody that's too stubborn to think that they can't learn from somebody else doesn't deserve to be an entrepreneur. You can't do much on your own and, and get whatever will help you out there and be willing to help others too. It's part of the journey. (22:30) Gary Brecka The same process that governs a fight or flight response in human beings governs the waking in our minds. It's called catecholamines. This is a category of neurotransmitters that create a sense of wakefulness and if you can't down regulate those catecholamines, your environment will quiet and your mind will wake up. (25:56) Brad Barrett Discipline is always better than motivation. It's important that you put some tools in place to help you in your business because it is very easy to get motivated for a time being but it takes discipline to actually commit to whatever plan you had going. So the best way to do this is by having a co-pilot. Learn to have a partner so they can be the strength to your weaknesses and help you be disciplined. (29:51) Ross Hamilton Instead of figuring out so many processes for success, sometimes you just need to look in the mirror and examine your habits, where you're spending your time, your morning and evening routines. Getting your morning right and your evening right, the start and end of your day, can really add up to get you anywhere you want to be.
