Není to poprvé, co jsem ve Zdeňkově českém podcastu přivítal Angličanku, která se rozhodla začít v žít v Česku. Tentokrát jsem vedl rozhovor s Clare, která pochází ze severovýchodního pobřeží v Anglii. To, že se nenarodila v České republice není na její češtině prakticky poznat.  V první části rozhovoru se bavíme o rozdílech v počasí mezi ČR a Anglií, o tom, jak Clare jezdí dočasně pracovat do Anglie na internátní školu a co to obnáší a o tom, jak drahé je tam žít. Také nám Clare objasní, proč je důležité Moraváka nenazývat Čechem a, co znamená moravský výraz “být na řepu”. Vízia je dôležitá. O tom vás presvedčí rozhovor s Ankou a Naďou, ktoré boli hostkami v livestreame s Otvorenou hrou, ktorých poslaním je zlepšovať to, ako sa cítia ľudia v práci a vďaka tomu posunúť svet ďalej. Hlavnou témou rozhovoru bola vízia, ale dostali sa aj k témam ako sú poslanie a stratégia. Naďa a Anka otvorene rozprávajú o vízií a zrozumiteľne vysvetľujú jej podstatu. V rozhovore sa dozvedáme aj týchto 5 faktov: Na to, aby sme pochopili, čo je to vízia, musíme pochopiť, kde sa to celé začína. Celý proces, ako sa dostaneme k vízii, začína tým, že definujeme, prečo podnikateľ, alebo značka robí to, čo robí, a teda prečo sa venuje danému odvetviu, značke, či produktu. Potom sa ide cez poslanie a až tak sa definuje vízia. Rozdiel medzi víziou a poslaním je v tom, že poslanie vychádza z minulosti, alebo súčasnosti a hovorí o tom, prečo firma existuje a čo je zmyslom jej podnikania. Vízia hovorí o budúcnosti a o tom, kam sa chce firma dostať za 5 až 10 rokov a čo chce zmeniť v spoločnosti. Vízia by mala byť špecifická, zrozumiteľná, ambiciózna a pozitívna. Vízia má v prvom rade vychádzať zo srdca. Treba pri nej vynechať rozum, ten je súčasťou stratégie a cieľov. Vízia má byť niečo, po čom túžime - po nejakej zmene v spoločnosti, alebo po niečom, čomu veríme, že keď sa stane, tak to vie motivovať aj druhých. Tí nás potom podporia, pretože tiež chcú, aby sa to udialo. Vízia nám slúži na to, aby sme motivovali interne vlastných ľudí a externe spotrebiteľa, aby si s nami vedel vytvoriť vzťah. Od prírody sme radi súčasťou nejakého názoru a spoločenstva, a preto keď sa nájde spojenie názorov medzi spotrebiteľom a značkou, nastáva dlhodobosť, zmysluplnosť a udržateľnosť. Je dôležité, aby firma mala svoju víziu a vedela, kam smeruje. Občas sa však stáva to, že ju ľudia začnú rozoberať až príliš a hľadajú v tom sofistikovanosť a prepojenie, aby na nič nezabudli, až sa vízia stáva vzdialenou. Netreba však zabúdať na to, že to nie je jadrová fyzika. Stačí sa ponoriť do svojho vnútra, povŕtať sa v sebe a nájsť tú podstatu a esenciu, a potom ju pretaviť do života. Naďa nám na záver odkazuje, aby sme sa vyhýbali veciam, ktoré sú všeobecné, klišé a hľadali to svoje, vďaka čomu sa dosiahne autentickosť a originalita. To by sa malo pretaviť vo všetkom, čo budeme robiť – od slov, cez činy, výstupy až po procesy. Svoju radu na záver nám necháva aj Anka. Nemali by sme sa báť ponoriť sa do vnútra – osobného a firemného a hľadať tam svoju podstatu a zmysluplnosť. Nemali by sme sa báť, keď ju nájdeme a keď ju uvidíme, ale mali by sme sa v nej znova porýpať. Potom keď ju pochopíme, mali by sme ju vytiahnuť von a začať ju žiť.

vedi libro: https://www.libri.it/rebecca Mentre ancora riecheggia nella nostra mente la lugubre filastrocca di Rachel che chiudeva il primo volume, ci accingiamo a esplorare un paese alquanto bizzarro, vero protagonista di questo secondo libro della serie delle Scienze Inesatte, e a poco a poco scopriamo che cosa lega la vicenda della bambina spettrale alla storia dei due fidanzati Giona e Rebecca. Il tempo della narrazione è ancora indefinito, ma sappiamo che una guerra furoreggia poco lontano dal piccolo borgo dove vivono i due ragazzi. Quasi ogni giorno sopra le loro teste sfilano nefaste processioni di dirigibili, alcuni dei quali, centrati dal nemico, spariscono avvolti nel fumo e nelle fiamme. Ciò nonostante la guerra sembra non preoccupare più di tanto gli abitanti del paese, i quali vivono pacificamente attendendo alle proprie occupazioni. Che sono, a dire il vero, piuttosto bizzarre: qui infatti si incontrano perlopiù cultori di materie stravaganti ed esperti di scienze alternative quali zoologi apocrifi, tanatologi, bibliografi immaginari, nasologi, frenologi sfrenati, teratologi estetici, numerologi demenziali, complimentologi, architetti di castelli di sabbia, astronomi sottomarini e altri specialisti di quelle scienze inesatte che danno il nome al paese fin dai tempi antichi, quando nella zona si stabilì un primo gruppo di ricercatori che col passare dei secoli divenne sempre più numeroso. Anche il paese, incastonato tra due pareti rocciose e protetto da un muro di cinta, ha un aspetto singolare come i suoi abitanti: le case sono di pietra, ornate con i resti delle navi naufragate o con strane sculture, e sugli abbaini danzano mostri in ferro battuto e stravaganti banderuole. Sul litorale capita di incontrare barconi capovolti trasformati in abitazioni per intere famiglie e non mancano originali luoghi di ritrovo come la taverna del vecchio Ezechiele, una bettola ricavata all’interno della carcassa mummificata di un pesce gigantesco. Per le vie del paese è facile imbattersi in saltimbanchi, burattinai, cantastorie, musicisti e altri artisti di strada che animano feste e celebrazioni ed escono sempre allo scoperto nelle rare giornate di sole. Il “Paese delle Scienze Inesatte” è un luogo ai confini tra scienza e fantasia, che Stefano Bessoni ha cominciato a mettere a fuoco una quindicina di anni fa, quando aveva intenzione di ambientarvi il suo primo film. In cerca di luoghi da prendere a modello, esplorò le coste francesi, tra la Normandia e la Bretagna, dove ammirò smisurate scogliere, fari abbandonati, paesini sperduti rimasti fermi agli inizi del secolo scorso e una rupe scolpita da un abate cieco, affollata di mostri, strane creature marine e pirati. Scoprì inoltre i calvari, singolari complessi parrocchiali gotici modellati nella pietra, animati da sculture e bassorilievi che raccontano la passione di Cristo vicino alle gesta dell’Ankou, lo scheletro con la falce che nella mitologia bretone impersona la morte. In una piccola libreria scovò vari libri fotografici che documentavano la vita di cacciatori di balene e pescatori di merluzzi, ma trattavano anche di mostri marini e leviatani. Fu su questi luoghi che Bessoni cominciò a modellare il suo “Paese delle Scienze Inesatte”, ispirandosi inoltre a due film di Peter Greenaway, Zoo – A zed and two noughts e Drowning by numbers, e in particolare alla scelta del regista di organizzare la storia secondo strutture avulse dalla scaletta narrativa, non disdegnando elenchi, classificazioni, forme di organizzazione espressiva più vicine alla catalogazione scientifica. Così la serie delle Scienze Inesatte cominciò a prendere forma come un compendio classificatorio del suo paese ideale, dove a contare erano soprattutto le abitudini e le peculiarità degli abitanti. Segment 1- Mindie   Welcome to Episode 17 of the Thin Places Travel Podcast. This episode features Brittany France – an area with one of the largest collections of pre-Christian monuments in Europe. And these monuments are the run of the mill dolmens or passage tombs. The monuments in Brittany, in many instances, predate those in Ireland and the UK. Many believe the people who created the first of the monuments in Ireland and the UK came from Brittany. It was the Breton culture that established this pattern of erecting these ancient monuments. We are so lucky to have the Brittany expert, Wendy Mewes on the podcast today. If you search the internet for guides in Brittany or books written on the ancient Breton landscape, you will find Wendy’s name and her website…. Wendymewes.com She is a prolific writer and lecturer. On her website, she has a quote that reads, “My personal identity lies in the landscape.” Her books and writing speak to the concept that the landscape is alive and that there is an inherent “sense of place” unique to the Breton landscape. Wendy lives in Finistere – with its deep forests, sweeping shorelines and ancient stones – an amazing place for walking.  Wendy has a background in ancient history, she is the author of numerous books about Brittany, and her articles have appeared widely in the press. In France, she has been filmed for TV and contributed to radio broadcasts on historical subjects. She has worked extensively in promoting Breton history and culture to English-speaking visitors through talks, courses, and guided visits. Wendy now concentrates on landscape writing, most recently with Spirit of Place in Finistere (2017). She is currently working on two new books: one about the Breton saints and the other on walking ancient paths in the region. Now … on to our interview with Wendy.       segment 2 – interview with wendy mewes   What is it about BRITTANY that is most compelling?   Brittany has a very beautiful and unspoilt landscape, full of hidden sites beyond linear time where eternal elementals still share their presence. It also triumphs in economies of scale with a wide variety of natural surroundings – secret river valleys, open moorland, deep forest, wild coast – within a relatively short distance. Many point to the power of granite, a stone forged from fire, for the strong atmosphere – it seems to affect people both well and badly! There is nothing excessive here: the scale of Brittany is so in tune with human scale that one can perfectly identify with the environment.   What is the background - history of the site or topic?   Brittany was well-populated in the Neolithic period and has the greatest density of megaliths in Europe, with standing-stones and burial chambers widespread. These sacred places continued to be revered by succeeding Bronze and Iron Age inhabitants. The arrival of Celtic Christianity with evangelists from Great Britain after the fall of the Roman Empire saw many of these sites taken over and Christianised in the rivalry between Nature and God.    Are there any legends or mythology tied to the site or topic?   Brittany is the home of a vast treasury of legend, especially in the Celtic oral tradition. The megaliths in particular have their own stories of origin (usually involving giants or fairies), and there are hundreds of varieties of little people active in the landscape, as well as countless tales of the Breton saints with all their miracles and triumphs. One of the striking themes of oral culture here is the ubiquitous presence of Death (personified by Ankou, the Grim reaper). Do you think those stories have a deeper meaning?   Stories inevitably spring from humans’ interest in themselves and our need for explanation and ‘certainty’. Many legends are self-referential and self-reverential. Often they resign us to our lack of control over life and death, making chaos less frightening. Here in Brittany they often reflect the early foundations of society as well as universal experiences. We look for intermediaries and intercession. Is it possible to pull back the curtain of culture and see a deeper state of being beyond?  When you can reach out to landscape as a living thing rather than human being, magic can happen.     What surprises travellers about the site? …. something one wouldn’t expect?   Visitors to Brittany are often surprised by the continuing power of oral culture today and the manifest pride in local heritage at all levels of society. Native language and traditional costumes are distinctive. Sacred processions, pilgrimages and boundary-walking (based on legend) still tie people to the land, and memory is regarded as a vibrant tool to preserve the past and animate the future.     What are your thoughts on thin places or liminal places where the physical and spiritual worlds seem to cross?   For me personally these are usually places where the elements of earth (stone), air and water combine in a special harmony. Ankou was the second-ranked prospect in the final version of the CFL’s scouting bureau, The Ottawa native played a total of 38 games during his collegiate career and Ankou started 19 games during his final two seasons. He recorded 91 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, three knockdowns, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick while with the Bruins. 2015 - Saw action in all 13 games and made 11 starts ... Entered the starting lineup after an injury to Eddie Vanderdoes ... Finished ninth on the team with 47 tackles ... Ranked tied for fourth on the team with 5.0 tackles for loss ... Had at least five tackles in six games ... Had season-high 2.0 tackles for loss vs. UNLV ... Had at least five tackles in six games ... Had season-high of seven stops against Colorado ... A tiny, uninhabitable, rocky island sits off the coast of Pointe du Raz, in western Brittany, France in Raz de Sein. This island is home to Tevennec Lighthouse. Lighthouses are meant to prevent deaths by guiding ships through dangerous waters. But Tevennec has been the scene of death many times and even before the lighthouse was built, local folklore tells of a history of death and haunting on the island.
