It helps to know so many folks with superpowers. D: Yes, you do have quite the list of friends and colleagues.  C: Which is one of the things I wanted to talk to you about. D: OK, shoot.  C: I've been an Avenger, a member of the Fantastic Four, one of the Inhuman Royal Family, and affiliated with the X-Men. I hardly have any peers who have those kinds of connections. And my powerset means I can control all of the elements. Yet I always feel like I'm not taken seriously enough. I'm either Medusa's kid sister, or worse yet Pietro's ex. D: So your primary issue is that of establishing an identity separate from those around you? C: Yes, exactly! D: I see. Well, my first thing I want to make clear is that being part of these groups isn't necessarily a bad thing, and- C: Oh I'm well aware, and I apologize if it came across as such. I'm proud to be included in these rosters. The relationships I've built over the years mean the world to me, and I wouldn't trade them for anything. It's just… that's not *all* of who I am. D: That's certainly frustrating, and I see why- C: And that's what few people understand. Pietro understood that...understands that? I don't know...we've gone back and forth so many times. He's so impulsive. I want him to slow down sometimes, but that's not who he is, and then that makes me realize that I wasn't understanding him...oh, it burns me up inside! *flame sound effect* D: Relationships that are frayed don't have to be completely incinerated...like you just did to that insurance form. Can we -  C: Oh no! I didn't mean to take it out on your possessions! That reminds me of when I talk to Johnny. It's weird. We work as great friends, but I sometimes go down a ‘what-if' rabbit hole if I had built something special with him. But that's not fair to him either. My mind is a tornado right now *wind noises* D: I see...how demonstrative. *clearly frustrated* I'll just restack those files a bit later. It sounds like you have tied so many parts of who you are to other people, that it even becomes tiresome for you to differentiate your motivations from those around you. How do you cope with that? C: I make time for myself. At least, I used to. I'm not an absentee parent. Luna comes first. When I get a chance like this, I seem to be out of sorts. *water effects gently throughout her speech* I get flooded with thoughts of how she's doing, if I'm missing something, if I should have pushed for more co-parenting, If I'm pawning her off too much. Am I making any sense? D: *barely hiding his frustration* I am awash with inspiration on how to help you...and so are my shoes. The anxiety of parenting never goes away, but rest assured that one of the best things you can show your child is letting them face some of their own challenges. C: *angry* Challenges?! She was kidnapped before! Caring for Lockjaw is a challenge! No, I won't be a helicopter parent, but do you know what it's like to lose the most important thing to your soul? You question reality. *earthquake effects* The ground you walk on might as well swallow you whole. Everyone judges you left and right. You judge yourself...harshly. It's not fair. It's not fair to her, or to me. I can stand on my own without a royal say-so- D: CRYSTAL! STOP!  C: Huh? D: *Exhausted, but calm* Please...stop. I got the message. I've never had a patient connect so viscerally to everything that's going on in their psyche. This is a private session, but it may be the greatest public example of what makes you...you! C: So it's just my powers? D: NO! No. It's the emotional intelligence fluidity. You are able to adapt to those around you and feel just as comfortable on a new team as well as with old friends. New bonds are capable of being as strong, or stronger, than prior relationships. That's a trait that not everyone comes by easily. But there's an obvious peril with that. You're always navigating a shifting hierarchy of personal priorities. That can be exhausting. C: *sarcastic* You don't say? I just… I don't want to BE my sister, but sometimes I envy the straightforward manner with which she deals with situations. She's the queen. Everyone knows that, so there's no wishy-washiness. With me, it all depends on who it is and what they need. I know you're saying that's a good thing, but uggghhhh is it draining. D: I get that. And I'm grateful that wasn't accompanied by another power flux. What I would encourage you to do is to take a look at each relationship in your life, and determine how important it is to you. You don't have to rank each one individually, maybe just use a few tiers. Then, if you're in a situation where you have a choice to make, utilize the tiers to determine which one takes precedence. And let's not forget about your own needs as well. C: Hmm. Interesting idea. Well, it can't be any worse than what I've been doing so far. Which is winging it. D: Much of life is winging it, but with a bit more wisdom each time. The course corrections are less tricky with every turn. C: I understand. Thanks for the advice, and sorry for the damage to the office. You can send the bill to Black Bolt. Episode 9: Never a Skrull Moment! Today we’ll be covering Fantastic Four 37, Thor 142, and the backup story of Thor 146 & 147Preface: We’re prepping for Kree/Skrull War This is a grab-bag episode Fantastic Four, Super-Skrull, Thor, Kree Sentry Fantastic Four 37: Behold! A Distant Star! Ben and Johnny get blasted by Reed’s Power-Ray while prepping for Reed and Sue’s wedding Alicia tells Reed that Sue is distraught over the death of her father in issue 32/Episode 1 Reed decides that they need to go seek vengeance for Franklin Storm’s death On the Skrull Capital World, Princess Anelle and Warlord Morrat talk. Annelle is upset at how terrible Morrat is but she thirsty Reed convinces NASA to let the FF borrow a rocket, which is way better than Grand Theft Saturn They use the Power-Ray to punch a hole into subspace and arrive at the Skrull homeworld. The FF are immediately beset upon by Skrull soldiers, and their powers are out of control! Morrat captures the FF, Anelle tells him that he must inform her father, the Emperor. Morrat says he will but shifty dudes gonna shift. Anelle mentions to her father about Morrat capturing the FF and Emperor Dorrek suspects treason. Reed zaps Ben, Johnny, and Sue with the Power-Ray before Morrat can stop him, then Reed gets blasted with it, but now it’s revealed that the FF have all their powers back. Reed is quite heroic and smart in this scene The Emperor arrives with the Royal Guard and executes Morrat but Anelle is caught in the crossfire. She’s saved by Sue. The Emperor is grateful that his daughter is safe so he grants the FF a boon, they ask for Skrull responsible for Franklin Richards death and the Emperor is delighted because that was Morrat’s fault and Morrat is already dead. Thor 142: The Scourge of the Super-Skrull Loki is banished to another space-time continuum and decides to seek vengeance on Thor by tricking the Super-Skrull to attack him Kl’rt rushes to Earth and initiates a brawl with Thor Sif is awesome and doesn’t get enough respect, but she’s a LEGIT BOSS Super-Skrull threatens to go full on nova level so Thor hits him with some hurricain level rain and wind to knock him down a peg, see the visual companion for this rad image! It’s Hammer Time and Thor pummles Kl’rt before using Mjolnir to generate an Anti-Force to banish Super-Skrull from Earth Loki is extremely salty and it’s great Thor 146 Backup: The Origin of the Incomparable Inhumans This is a longer story but we’re only covering the first two bits In prehistoric times some humans developed faster than others and formed an advanced civilization. They called it Attilan, the hidden city Randac, the King of Attilan discovers the Terrigen Mists and through the process of Terrigenesis develops superpowers Thor 147 Backup: The Reason Why A Kree Sentry remarks that it’s time for the Second Phase as it’s heading to Attilan and being pelted by some of the primitive humans Sentry reflects that it’s been tasked to guard a Kree Base, even if it takes 1,000 years He finds Attilan and is glad that the Kree experiment of speeding the development of a group of humans was successful The Attilanians hope the Sentry comes in peace so they can learn from him. King Randac emerges from the Terrigen mist unharmed but with powers Turns out, the Sentry is none-other than Sentry 459! The entire royal family "...And Finally: Black Bolt" have done so much to get back Attilan from Maximus. Max has rigged the dome to fail if he doesn't scan his hand every hour. So Black Bolt has to find a way to get him back to the control room without being caught. Gorgon is going on a rampage after awakening from his second Terrigenesis and when he's caught by Max's guards, Karnak has to keep a close eye on him. Medusa returns to Earth to ask Louise for help in finding a place for the refugees of Attilan, should the city fall. And once it is clear that there is no other option, Eldrac starts transporting them there. So it comes down to brother against brother as the Inhumans lunar refuge comes to an end. It's "Havoc in the Hidden Land" when Black Bolt and his family return to the moon to take back Attilan from the traitorous Maximus. It's been a tough road to get back, and they've lost Gorgon in the process. The @LegendsOfShield (Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Agents Haley, Stargate Pioneer, Consultant Wing and Katherine from Legends Podcast (Also found on the GonnaGeek.com network) break down the Agent Carter Event  episode 3 Time and Tide! This week’s podcast host full house will also run down the week in Marvel news, and review down all the awesome Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. feedback.   Agent Carter Time and Tide [2:38]   Just what’s going on in Mrs Fry’s building? Who’s spying on who? And if you are the weakest link you can definitely say goodbye to being Agent Carter’s neighbor. The only time a good story starts with a year is if it is Sophia from Golden Girls spinning the tail.   Lauren is very jealous of Hayley Atwell’s hair. The unannounced Lauren hair report! And Katherine comes in as the 40’s hair Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. expert.  Agent Carter’s hair is definitely one of her Marvel superpowers: 1) Fight on the top of a moving milk truck while wearing high heels and 2) Beat up guys without smudging her lipstick.   The fight choreography is definitely a different style in Agent Carter than in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D..   Edwin Jarvis’ backstory was simply amazing and it was great to get to know both him and Anna better. And we await for the rest of the story. And don’t forget the parallels in the Marvel Universe to romance in Budapest. First there was Jarvis and Anna and then there was Hawkeye and Back Widow. And also the trust building between Carter and Jarvis was great to see evolve.   The hosts are split on the intro style of this third episode of Agent Carter and compare and contrast it to DC Comic Book television shows Flash and Arrow on the CW Network. Lauren drew the similarity to the Farscape intro.   Agent Carter’s Google research was very interesting. The old school symbol book with the William Shakespeare cover was a classic way to do business that is lost in the digital age today.   StarPi cannot pronounce a name to save his life in this podcast starting with the late SSR Agent Krzeminski. But that seems okay because Lauren throws a flag on the pay with Agent Carter calling Krzeminski good at his job. Haley counters with the fact that he actually got all the work done. And no one buys the fact that he was such a good ladies man. But the 40s were a different time and men and women’s relationships were different then.   What’s with Carter’s story about winter 1942 and the sewers of New York?   The hole in the basement floor of Stark’s lab looks surprisingly similar to the hole in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. leading to Attilan.   StarPi notices grave similarities betgween Agent Thomspon and Grant Ward. And we all inherently distrust guys with chiseled features in the Marvel Universe. Agent Carter not being able to take the credit starts to grate on all the hosts, but they take solace in the fact that she will be their boss eventually.   Howard Stark’s “back massager” looks like a uterus and the hosts question just what Howard was trying to invent and it was probably NOT a back massager.   It’s nice that the music score in Agent Carter is including thematic elements from Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Avengers films.   Angie reminds Lauren of Darcy from Thor. And there is somewhat of a discussion over just which side Angie is on and what her character is meant to do.   Captain America radio plays will be back at least one more episodes!   The speculation continues that Victor/Sousa will be a bad guy and that he continues to get non-hero roles.   The crew answers Lauren and Haley’s question of “What the hell does rhubarb taste like? “ And Haley can’t drink coconut rum anymore.   The Jarvis interrogation scenes were delicious and intense.   Katherine brings up an insightful comment about Anna being Jarvis’ total motivation and that they are deeply and truly in love.   Agent Carter’s smooth move to free Jarvis was incredibly skillful.   Do we already know Krzeminski’s murderer?   Lauren is getting angry over not seeing Agent Carter next week. Stay away from the Gamma radiation Lauren! Stay Away!   Black Adam brings up the Leviathan theory that it is the communist Hydra including The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes.   Jarvis and Barney from How I Met Your Mother would be great Suit buddies.   The Jarvis – Anna tie mention was a nice tie to Coulson Aubrey. And StarPi did not call her Arby. No he did not.   EXTRAS: Socially acceptable Sci-Fi swears. We can no longer say “Frak” on TV thanks to Kentucky Fried Chicken. There’s also Frell from Farscape and Gorram from Firefly.   Marlon Brando was a great actor and On The Waterfront won the Best Picture and Best Actor Oscars in 1955.   Haley’s list of unseen movies now includes The American President.   Be prepared for the November/December 2015 Star Wars re watches on Legends Podcast.   Don’t watch the old NBC Heroes series past the first season. Especially since it was not referred to again in the episode. No one really knows why she had the dream either.   Mack’s toy Lola comes just in time for the Christmas season. But will it convince Coulson to let Mack touch Lola – once he recovered from his exposure to whatever was at the bottom of the shaft plus the subsequent fall down that very same shaft! Wing really liked Mack but Stargate Pioneer is still hesitate about what exactly Mack is doing with Mockingbird.   Haley thinks that Mack and Bobbi are actually in another secret Marvel style organization like SWORD sent in to monitor Coulson and the remnants of S.H.I.E.L.D. in hiding. Last season Marvel did the bad secret organization. Haley thinks that this season Marvel wants to do the good organization so not to be too silly.   Also, Bobbi Morris is being played as the evil spy agent but it will really turn out to be a Hydra brainwashed Simmons made by Bakshi and Whitehall to “comply.” Haley also thinks that the S.W.O.R.D. type organization will be involved in Avengers 2 as well.   Haley also thinks that Bobbi and Lance Hunter will breakup and that is the oncoming storm that Mack was referring to.   Haley and Jay were pleased to see Trip with a more prominent role in this episode.   Everyone loves Evil May (Agent 33) and her scar / damaged face mask.   The Skye-Agent 33 fight wasn’t exactly the quality of the May-Agent 33 fight but it was still a good addition to the show. And reminiscing about May without her dress was tops on everyone’s mind.   Haley was disappointed that Skye didn’t shoot Ward in his foot on The Bus.   Why was Raina not in the interrogation room? Why did she have a lanyard?   Just how many Koenig brothers are out there? And they get all the cool toys wlike a cloak umbrella. Wing thinks that killing Ward will be what turns Fitz to be a Villian.   Would Fitz been able to shoot Mack? And Is Mack Dead? No.   Stargate Pioneer is smitten with Mockingbird’s tasing batons.   Haley feels that Fury’s body count number would have been 3 million. Jay and Wing think it would have been much, much higher. Coulson is minor league here.   Where is General Talbot with Corporeal Mustache these days?   Stargate Pioneer wonders if Ward really killed his parents and brother or if it will lead us down yet another deceptive path.   Stargate Pioneer rants and raves about a “Cold War Frequencies.” There is no such thing. Haley says yes there is in Comic Book Science.   Haley jumps at the chance to talk about how awesome May is.   And why in the world does Skye willingly go with Ward?   Jay wants to see Oliver Queen from Arrow and Melinda May fight. And of course it would end up with them sleeping with each other. And Stargate Pioneer loved May hitting the Hydra guys with the van just like Felicity did in the penultimate Arrow Season 2 episode with Ravager.     Raina and Skye have very intense conversations.   Ward was not only being strategic taking Skye as a bargaining chip but also because how much he loved Skye. No one was surprised.   Later, Wing did mention that Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier was the best Marvel movie. Haley mentioned that was one opinion she could respect. But don't get too excited. There are other opinions Wing has like on The incredible Hulk that Haley just wished Wing would stop drinking the cough syrup over.   Lauren tells us that Good Bye Lenin 2003 is a really good movie (That Haley hasn't seen yet of course). And Daniel Bruhl who will be in Captain America Civil War was in Good Bye Lenin.   Lauren regales us about her amazing Marvel knowledge of Ragnarok - clone or no clone - and Eson The Searcher. And we collectively wonder exactly where Odin is right now within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.   StarPi is completely deflated that he wasn't voted sexiest man alive and Chris Hemsworth got it instead. But all the GonnaGeek women hosts including Lauren, Haley and Katherine from Legends Podcast are really fine with it.   Haley watches The Chris Pratt Guardians Of The Galaxy Dance Off Gag Reel video live on the podcast and describes the awesomeness as it happens.    We learn that Wing loves to say his H'es when he describes an actress as "hot."   The Things We Bury Episode Discussion [41:15]   StarPi believes that Ward's character's arc of killing his brother and parents were known from the beginning of the series.   The best scene in the episode was definitely when all the evil characters (Ward, The Doctor, and Whitehall) are looking each other in the eye at the end to plan each other's demise.   We (all of the hosts on Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will be calling Skye's mom Sierra from Dollhouse until we hear her real name in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.   The scene with Skype's Mom (Sierra) being operated on by Whitehall and then dumped in a ditch was very very dark. We don't generally expect this level of darkness from Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D..    In a classic StarPi move he manages to confuse Edwards James Olmos with James Earl Jones in name only. And in another classic Haley move she admits to not ever having watched Hunt For Red October. Or any of the Tom Clancy movies really.   Lauren states that "Fricking Robert Redford ruins everything!"   Wing brings up a great theory about an infinity stone within Attilan and Lauren likes the idea because it would reward the Marvel fan for watching the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show in addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.    Don't forget that Simmons has definitely been made to "comply" by Whitehall.   Has Marvel rolled out the Inhumans 4 years too early? Haley thinks there are ways around it. And SP thinks that an Inhuman backstory before the movie would be a welcome addition to the way Marvel introduced Gamora and Nebula without any backstory at all.   Lauren brings up that is would be great if Skye's Dad, The Doctor, is Mr. Hyde from Marvel Comics. But Haley likes Maximus The Mad better.   And don't forget the Whitehall "origins" story that we saw in the episode. We chat about Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD episode 7, “The Writing on the Wall,” as Coulson finally gets an answer to the symbols. Join us as we chat about blue aliens, Inhumans, Attilan and Ward’s present.   The symbols are beginning to take over Clark Gregg’s Director Coulson’s life and he needs answers. When they find that someone has been hunting people who knew about the symbols he jumps into the torture machine to get his memories back. In the process, we find out exactly how the Tahiti project worked and it’s connection to both the blue, Kree-like alien and the symbols he and others have been obsessively carving. But the symbols and memories are driving Coulson over the edge and Skye, Chloe Bennet, has to take control while the rest are hunting Brett Dalton’s Grant Ward.   By the end we have turned a page on Agent of SHIELD, with Coulson’s memory and Tahiti project behind us the Director can now take control and move towards their new object, an ancient city that might just tie into the greater Marvel cinematic universe.      All the background of last year, alongside this seasons great character arcs brought us to a great, satisfying conclusion to some stories while opening up new and exciting places for the entire crew in “The Writing on the Wall.” We can’t wait to see where they go next.

If anyone knows exactly how the YouTube counts views (especially with a replaced file) please let us know!   Haley and Lauren shower Stargate Pioneer with their knowledge of Attilan and how StarPi’s son Sandrock Kai teased his Dad about crossing the DC-Marvel streams. This episode had a plethora of great lines and quotes including an homage by Skye to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and how much of an Epic Fail Coulson’s 0-8-4 reveal was to Skye.   Stargate Pioneer pleads with Disney, ABC and Marvel to NEVER see the T.A.H.I.T.I. mind erasing device again.   We learn that the T.A.H.I.T.I. alien host is thousands of years old and Haley questions why the nuclear option to destroy the “host.” And Lauren regales us with her knowledge about genetic memory and retroviruses. For a great counter argument to genetic memory check out the new series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson (stop killing Pluto as a planet, dude!).   In this week’s episode The Writing On The Wall the show reveals to us a possibility for Fitz to regain his brain’s backup files! Yay Science Babies!   Plus we get friction between Science Baby (Simmons) and Mack (Science Babysitter).   The hosts attempt to get a timeline on just when S.H.I.E.L.D.’s T.A.H.I.T.I. project occurred and where the painting carvings and the chalkboard writing from last year came from.   The shady Hydra Goldbricks Boston tavern is a reference to Fury calling folks Goldbricks. And why Goldbricks isn’t a real apt descriptions for Fury to be saying anyway.   Ward’s dead man switch bugs Haley. A lot.
