It's the final day of August, Moon is somewhere in parts unknown, Lern is back, and The Rizzuto Show has officially entered King Scott's BABY WATCH. The baby is now past the due date, predictions are flying around the studio, and Rizz is keeping his ringer on because that phone call could come at any moment. Naturally, while waiting for the miracle of life, the crew spends a significant amount of time celebrating another miracle: Rafe Williams finally has legal license plates.Yes, Rafe went to the DMV. Voluntarily. Sort of.What should have been a routine trip to get his truck squared away became a full-blown battle with Missouri bureaucracy. There's a packed Creve Coeur DMV, a confusing sign-in system, expired temp tags, paperwork, an emissions-test surprise and a ticking clock. At one point Rafe has until 4:30 to get an emissions test completed or face the horrifying possibility of coming back Monday and waiting all over again. That's when a listener at the auto shop recognizes him, gets the Tacoma squeezed in, and sends our hero racing back to the DMV with paperwork held high like he just returned from the Crusades. By the end, Rafe is trying to get the entire waiting room to cheer for the woman who helped him. This is the kind of inspirational story your favorite comedy podcast provides because apparently our standards for heroism have become “successfully registering a motor vehicle.”The DMV adventure also sends the crew into everything from old people trying to navigate touchscreen kiosks to modern cars putting every basic function behind another touchscreen. We have reached the future, and the future apparently requires three menus just to turn down the air conditioning. Then Lern returns from Colorado with stories involving the Grizzly Rose, mechanical bulls, mountain towns, wineries, peaches, e-bikes and some legitimately terrifying drives through the Rockies. Her relaxing family getaway somehow includes bull riding and flying around mountain roads, because nobody associated with this show is capable of having a normal vacation.Rizz has his own driving adventure after the intro to “Money for Nothing” hits at exactly the wrong—or right—time and suddenly he's doing 80 with a police officer behind him. Is getting completely lost in a song a valid speeding defense? Legally, probably don't take our advice. Spiritually? Absolutely. The weekend recaps keep rolling as Rizz gets his first full Friday Night Lights experience watching his daughter cheer at Lafayette, then attends a 40th birthday party extravagant enough to make everyone reconsider their current tax bracket. Meanwhile, Rafe survives Jamie Rivers' bachelor party, gets his first real taste of the Cafe Napoli scene and discovers that former professional hockey players apparently possess a completely different transmission when it comes to staying out late.Rizz has a problem. This week's throwback takes our question—“How's the water?”—all the way down to the ground beneath your feet.Because your feet are your foundation… but for most of your life, that foundation has been surrounded by shoes.Cushioning.Arch support.Narrow toe boxes.Raised heels. And footwear designed around fashion, comfort, or performance—sometimes without considering what your feet were naturally built to do.In this episode, we're exploring the history and evolution of footwear, how the shoes surrounding your feet may influence the way you stand, walk, and move, and why foot strength and ankle mobility deserve far more attention than most of us give them. We'll also cover exercises you can use to begin rebuilding stronger, more capable feet—and why transitioning toward barefoot or minimalist footwear should always happen gradually.Your feet carry you through your entire life.Maybe it's time we stopped ignoring the environment we keep them in.Resources: Brain.fm App(First month Free, then 20% off subscription)Discount Code: coachdamiensdLinks:IG:@coachdamien_sd@damienrayevans@livinthedream_podcast YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS6VuPgtVsdBpDj5oN3YQTgFB:https://www.facebook.com/coachdamienSD/

Proper cleaning is essential – Use pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaners to maintain Marley's surface. Gerriets Vario Care line includes daily and deep-clean products plus a protective finish to extend floor life. Ask questions before installing – Delivery logistics, subfloor prep, and correct flooring choice are key. The sporting world is laser focused on the dangers of concussions but are they the greatest threat to an athlete's brain health or is something else at play? In this episode of Empowering Leaders, we dive into the latest science around repetitive head impacts or, as our guest refers to them, Brain Slosh, and we learn about an incredible new device that could help. While concussions make headlines, the real danger lies in the constant, subtle hits athletes endure every game and practice—hits that don't always result in noticeable symptoms. Suzanne Williams, Vice President of Sports Marketing at Q30 Innovations, breaks down how these seemingly harmless impacts, whether from football, soccer, equestrian sports, or even mountain biking, can have a cumulative effect on brain health. With over 10 years of research and 25 independent studies behind it, Suzanne explains how a new device is showing promise in reducing Brain Slosh—the primary cause of concussions. Hour 1- BT says Mets fans were simply softening the blow if Pete Alonso did not re-sign, but now that it seems the door is back wide open, Mets fans are excited again for Pete to come back / Does Alonso put the Mets over the top? / Would Alonso rather a 1-year deal elsewhere?
I was just on a call with an injured runner who is about to go out for a test run. She is very excited because she is going to get either a yes or a no on deciding if the tissue in her foot that is been healing is strong enough to withstand a little bit of running at a medium pace for a short distance. This is an important test because if it hurts, obviously no running, right? You got to wait some more. But because you want to get a yes, you want to make sure that your chances of getting the yes are as high as possible. The way that you do that is you protect the foot as much as possible. So, the shoes you should use for your test run really do matter a lot. If you are going to go out and try a test run after you have been injured, what kind of shoes should you wear? Cushioning shoes or stability shoes? Well, that is a great question and that is what we're talking about today on the Doc On The Run Podcast.
In episode 90, Ste is joined by Steven Sashen, founder of Xero Shoes. Steven and Ste dive deep into modern footwear, proper running form, and why so many running athletes wind up injured. Steven brings a wealth of knowledge about minimalist footwear and highlights why NBA and WNBA players are making the jump to Xero Shoes. With fears of the war in the Middle East escalating into World War 3, BizNews speaks to Israel's Ambassador to South Africa, Eli Belotsercovsky. He says: “…we have to fight back. And we will. And particularly after this attack, which endangered the lives of many, many Israelis, we will have to respond - and we will choose the time and the way to do it.” However, the ambassador says that the conditions for a World War “have not been created yet”. “I think that common sense will prevail. And those regimes like Iran that try to destabilise the world order, that try to bring more violence, to use terror as a tool to gain more political gains, I think that if we manage to prevent them from doing this and to block them, I think there would be no war.” Meanwhile, he describes the sombre mood in Israel on the eve of the 1st anniversary of the October 7 terror attack. He also deals with accusations that Israel is an Apartheid state, and dissects the clashing narratives about Israel's war again Hamas, Hezbollah, and the clerical regime of Iran.

Today, we have not one but two of the most sought-after coaches in the world. Lawrence Van Lingen and Erin Carson have risen to legendary status in the world of endurance sports by following their curiosity and not worrying too much about what the mainstream says about mobility and strength for athletes. Guided by intuition and strong intellects, these two coaches are staples in the lives of A-List athletes like Jan Frodeno, Rudy Von Berg, Taylor Knibb, and Paula Findlay. Erin is making her three-peat appearance on the show today, having first come on the show back in 2018 for episode 114 and then just a few months ago for episode 373. Lawrence first came on the show in 2019 for episode 184, which was also his first podcast ever. After recently speaking to Erin and then learning that Lawrence has left his So Cal contingency for the athletic mecca of Boulder, Colorado, we were inspired to get these two on together. They eagerly said yes because they are amazing and love this community, and we love listening to the passion they have for everyone to realize free movement in their body. The new PXG 0317 CB irons are forged from 8620 carbon steel and feel extremely soft. The sound is solid and they offer pretty good forgiveness for a compact iron. The Adidas ZG23 is my new favorite golf shoe from their lineup. Cushioning is great but the stability of the shoe in all lies really shines.

Short episode summary Do your shoes really matter when running? We've talked about it before, but it keeps coming up so tune in to find out what coaches Valerie and Caroline have to say on the matter. Timestamps of big takeaways Recapping Our Virtual Clinic [00:44] Everyone who gave us feedback on the virtual clinic was seeing a difference in their run thanks to our practice. From no longer feeling plantar fasciitis symptoms to knees no longer hurting, our clinic participants got to experience running pain-free. The Shoes You Should Get to Run [02:06] The first thing you need to look for is comfort. You want to feel stable in your shoe, and like you're still standing on your feet. Super Shoes [03:02] Four years ago or so, Super Shoes came out. It became a trend, and elite athletes were wearing them. But, spoiler alert, it just feels like a normal shoe. The Relationship Between Shoes And Injuries [04:56] Cushioning is not protective against running-related injuries. Furthermore, shoe companies admit that all shoes really do is protect your foot from the ground. The Feeling of New Shoes [06:38] Anyone who puts on a new pair of shoes feels quicker. But that sensation will fade with time. It's like getting a new tire for your car; you could feel like you're driving a little better at first, but it doesn't take long for those new tires to feel like the old tires again. What do you do when your company has a 400% increase in orders after surviving a down year? Cathleen Woodall faced the same challenge and came out on top! Cathleen is now sharing lessons to help Amazon sellers avoid many of the pitfalls she has come across in her own entrepreneurial journey. You'll learn about how to set up deals with distributors for long-term success, the importance of controlling your brand, and how to maintain critical metrics to keep your listings thriving. Takeaways: When a wholesaler tries to sell your product, they are only looking for 30% margins and will charge drastically less and undercut your own listings for the same products. You need to have agreements in place with your distributors that bar them from being able to sell your product on Amazon. The terms of these agreements need to be clearly spelled out. If the distributors violate it, you need to stop doing business with them.Firing distributors may seem like a hard thing to do, but it helps your company in the long run. This gives control of your brand back to you and helps longer-term profits by avoiding being undercut on price.Your Listing Quality is very important to your success on Amazon. It's crucial that you check the quality of the product and its packaging before it is sent to FBA warehouses. Track how many items you check and how many are sent in to find your inspection rate.If you are shipping products directly from your manufacturer to the FBA warehouse, you run the risk of missing quality errors which could lead to your listing being suspended. If your price point falls for non-sales-related reasons, it can be a long journey to work the price back up to its initial price point. When you are offering several similar products of varying quality and or value, you need to have a wide enough margin between the products so that the lower-priced products do not cannibalize the sales of the higher-priced products. Quote of the Show:“We have to have control of our brand. We have to have control of our pricing. You can't be on Amazon and not have control of it.” - Cathleen WoodallLinks:LinkedInEmail: woodall@gelcoproducts.comCompany TwitterCompany websiteShout Outs:Jason LangstonWays to Tune In:Apple Podcast (Leave a Review)iHeart RadioPodchaser (Leave a Review)Amazon MusicAudibleSpotifyGoogle PodcastStitcherYouTube

Now, I'm not suggesting that if you put on a pair of traditional running shoes, your IQ will go down, you won't get into the college of your choice, or you won't be able to fill out a tax form or a crossword puzzle. But, I'm going to talk about two other kinds of stupidity. And when I talk about traditional running shoes, traditional is sort of a funny word to use because what most people think of as a running shoe, thick, padded, motion control, arch support, elevated heel, things like that. Frankly, that's actually not traditional. For most of human history, we ran in shoes that looked frankly more like the minimalist shoe, just enough to protect you from the ground and hold that protection onto your foot. So what I'm talking about with traditional running shoes... And here's one of the ways they make you dumber, because they have all that cushioning, which we think we need, we think. Well, Cushing is good, because running must be hard on the joint, so we need cushioning, right? Well, it's a great idea, but the reality is, it doesn't work that way at all, because when you have all that cushioning, there are a number of things that happen, one, you tend to land harder because your brain is trying to get feedback from the ground, and with all that questioning, you can't feel it. You have more nerve endings in the sole of your feet then anywhere but your fingertips and your lips. That's so that your brain knows how to use the rest of your body correctly. So if you make it dumb by making it numb, sometimes you'll land harder just to get that feedback that you need for balance and agility, but of course with all that extra padding, you don't have the balance with all that extra height, you don't have the balance. If you have questions for me about the show, please email me, Steven Sashen, at move@jointhemovementmovement.com, or visit the website at www.jointhemovementmovement.com, and find what's going on, be part of the family of helping people discover and rediscover that natural movement is the obvious better healthy choice, just like natural food is...
