“That Time Disney Remade Beauty and the Beast.” 2018. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpUx9DnQUkA. First things first, we (Laine, Meg, Toni, and Wendy) were wrong about our Bridgerton season one theories! Overall, Chris van Dusen and Shondaland did a great job portraying a historical romance book onto film through a modern lens. We got a shocking reveal at the end of the series, but there were many questions only the next season can answer. We definitely need to know who the hell Madame Delacroix/Genevieve/Sophie is and where “France” is to her. There’s an idea that Lady Araminta Gunningsworth already makes an appearance in season one and we hope some of the cast members are actually Smythe-Smiths. Who is taking over the Featherington estate? There are as many theories as there are flowers on their frock, but one of ours will introduce someone we are meant to fall in love with. One family we’re excited to meet, and probably fell in love with already, are the Sheffields. There has been casting speculation whether Kate and Edwina have been or are being casted. Whoever they are, the thought of finding a Kate hiding under a desk and her fighting with Anthony makes us think, “Make haste with season two.” Join us as we discuss our thoughts on Bridgerton season one and how to adapt our theories to season two!#PlotTrystsxLitWallflowers Crossover – 4:00Email - litwallflowerspodcast@gmail.comFollow on www.instagram.com/litwallflowerspodcastShop at https://www.zazzle.com/store/lit_wallflowers/productsWebsite https://linktr.ee/litwallflowersPlot Trysts -www.facebook.com/plottrystswww.instagram.com/plottrystswww.twitter.com/plottrystsWebsite https://linktr.ee/plottrystswww.juliaquinn.comwww.facebook.com/authorjuliaquinnwww.instagram.com/juliaquinnauthor

Creator Chris van Dusen on Bridgerton, Netflix’s new drama series set in Regency England, about the daughter of a powerful family as she makes her debut onto London’s competitive marriage market. Award-winning novelist Rachel Joyce has created “Christmas by the Lake”, a new drama for BBC Radio 4. It’s a story with a twist on the Christmas theme and it's classic Rachel Joyce territory: relationships, loss and ordinary people doing extraordinary things. She joins Nick to talk about those chance encounters, and why Christmas is a perfect time for stories. While many of our concert halls, theatres, galleries and museums have been empty for much of 2020, dedicated teams take centre stage to make sure venues are ready for the public’s return through various stages of lockdown. Kieron Lillis Head of Facilities at the National Theatre in London and Jessica Yung Visitor Assistant at the World Museum in Liverpool give Nick a behind the scenes look at their empty buildings and talk about the vital role of those who take care of them for us during one of the most challenging periods in our nation’s cultural history.

Konsequent is anders.

Yes, we like white walls and pale wood, but our eyes need some *excitement* these days, and we have a whole bunch of ways to give ‘em what they require (without going full Gigi Hadid maximalist). Also worth adding to your “Hues You Can Use” moodboard: just about everything in Kacey Musgraves’s merch shop. The linkage: More where this came from c/o Secret Menu! (Click-y name, right?!) All hail Merch Queen Kacey Musgraves! This longsleeve tee, this velvet poster, her Boy Smells collab Slow Burn candle (and companion Burn in a Hurry lighter), the Lonely Weekend Self-Care Kit, High Time rolling papers, an ugly Christmas sweater, and faux snow (but of course?). Breaking August news: Kacey’s Christmas album really is so good (and can we talk about this Dolly Parton holiday album announcement?!). As motion designers, our primary goal is often centered on delivering our animations to clients. However, that’s not always enough to stay in business. Increasingly, there are more opportunities to work with clients beyond motion design and get involved in the design side of brand strategy. We also talk about how to use partnerships and content to get more clients. Philip VanDusen is the founder of Varhaal Brand Design, a brand strategy, design, and marketing agency in New Jersey. He also has a great YouTube channel where he shares his expertise on marketing design and entrepreneurship. Philip describes how we have the ability to play a huge role in marketing and brand strategy with motion design. This is an amazing, as well as lucrative, sphere to get involved in. Philip suggests that a way to stand out is to broaden your skill set into intellectual and strategic client partnerships. Simply put, motion designers need to be active business partners. If this sounds daunting, Philip has some good news. You don’t actually have to change much in your business to scale up. Philip explains how strategically collaborating with other creatives can increase what you have to offer without significantly changing the amount of work you need to do. Getting your name out there and making those connections can be intimidating. Philip talks about how he has met the people he works with. Masterminds and conferences are great ways to do this. So is content marketing. Philip explains how anyone can use this strategy to get their name out and start getting more work as a result. In this episode Ways to stand out from the crowd as motion designers Recognizing the need to adjust to changing times and situations to stay competitive First steps to take to learn about communication and business strategy The power of strategic collaboration to scale your business Tips for making connections outside of your industry The power of content marketing to build an authentic personal brand and connect with clients How to use partnerships, strategy and content to get more clients How creating free content can lead to important connections down the road Quotes “Design, and any kind of creative product or service, is getting increasingly commoditized. Part of that is due to the fact that we have a global economy and you can get creative services from anywhere and from any culture.” [2:28] “In order to survive in today’s creative economy, you really have to do more. You have to be more than just a motion designer. You have to try to nurture and develop a language of business.” [3:08] “It’s never a problem working the work. The problem is finding the work. If you can find the work, you can find people to work the work.” [10:37] “If you just share what you know, who you are, where you are, and what you’re learning, there are people who will benefit from that.” [26:05] “There’s a subliminal bank that you’re putting money into every time you put content out into the world. Where people find it valuable, they will start to put you -- your name, your personal brand, your presence -- on a shelf that is above everybody else.” [38:46] Links Find Philip VanDusen online Follow Philip on YouTube | Linkedin | Twitter | Pinterest | Facebook Creative Strategy and the Business of Design
Kate van Dusen is back in her hometown in the U.S. state of Texas after a year abroad in China. Her experience living on the other side of the "Great Firewall of China" made her curious about how the Chinese view media censorship in their country, and how Western media outlets also face different types of censorship. In this episode, you'll hear from News-Decoder Correspondent and former Chairman of Thomson Reuters China David Schlesinge, Zhou Fengshou, a former student leader The Tiananmen Square protests, Curry Wang, a Chinese national living in Canada, and Garrett Wilson, an American reporter who covered the French yellow vests movement.
