The Facts of Life was a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes and aired on NBC from 1979-1988. The show starred Charlotte Rae as Eastland School for Girls housemother Edna Garrett watching over an evolving cast of young female stars including Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Nancy McKeon and a very young Molly Ringwald! It ran for more than 200 episodes, and spawned three TV movies. Anupam Nigam has written and produced episodes of hit TV shows like Psych, Defiance, Cruel Summer, Mech-X4 and Station 19. This week, as wildfires continue to burn across our state, we're re-airing a story from Erin Baldassari, KQED's Senior Editor for Housing Affordability. This week, we're featuring a story from Erin Baldassari, KQED's Senior Editor for Housing Affordability. Growing up in California's Sierra Nevada foothills, wildfire has always been part of her consciousness. Her earliest memory is fleeing a fire as it bore down on her childhood home. As she and her family consider moving back, she wanted to learn how people there are adapting to the rising risk of wildfires due to climate change. Lorsqu'il revient bien malgré lui à Edgewater, il doit faire face à ses erreurs de jeunesse et aux répercussions qu'elles ont eues sur les gens qu'il aime. Face à lui, on retrouve des visages connus du petit écran : Diane Farr (Numb3rs) dans le rôle de sa mère, Sharon, qui accueille le retour de son fils comme une bénédiction, Billy Burke (Zoo, Revolution) interprète un père, bien moins enjoué par la soudaine réapparition de sa progéniture qu'il considère instable et indigne de confiance ou encore Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer) le superviseur de Bode qui croit en la rédemption de son protégé. Led by VFX Supervisor Colin Strause, whose career includes such big-screen blockbusters as RAMPAGE, SAN ANDREAS and THE AVENGERS, CBS VFX brings together a visual effects crew of more than 100 people to deliver as many as 135 effects shots in every episode of the series from Jerry Bruckheimer Productions and CBS Studios. To make fire into a palpable antagonist in the series and to showcase the many different and terrifying forms that fire can take, the work from CBS VFX incorporates multiple elements, sometimes including actual pyrotechnics that were filmed on set in highly controlled circumstances. Although the series is set in Northern California, it is shot in British Columbia where extremely dry conditions mostly prevent the large-scale use of physical fire. FIRE COUNTRY is the largest in an impressive range of recent projects for CBS VFX, which have also included the acclaimed series ONE PERFECT SHOT for HBO Max and ARRAY Filmworks; and innovative virtual production solution to COVID-relateds challenges for THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW; and special productions for the 2021 MTV Movie Awards and NCAA Final Four. Brothers Colin and Greg Strause have charted a meteoric rise from self-taught artists working on local cable commercials in the suburbs of Chicago, to renowned visual effects gurus. Royals: Minutes 4:30 to 22:30 This week Prince Harry made a surprise appearance in London in his case against Associated Newspapers. He and other plaintiffs like Elton John and Sadie Frost are suing them for surveillance and harassment. Harry issued written testimony on Tuesday and it was damning to his family. Prince Harry's presence at the hearing has brought so much attention to it. After that came out, a royal source told The Daily Beast that Harry's statement has “torpedoed any remaining bridges” with his family. It's curious that the Windsors are acting like Harry is attacking them when the case is against the Daily Mail. The Telegraph reported that Charles was too busy to see him. Charles was at Highgrove after his trip to France was canceled so he wasn't too busy. Will and Kate are conveniently out of town too because their kids are on break. Camilla Tominey accused Harry of upstaging Charles' big trip. The Sussexes upstage the Windsors partly because the British press has built them up so much with negative reporting. We still don't know whether Harry and Meghan will come to the Coronation. There was a story that if Harry does come to the coronation, he won't have to bow to Camilla! There was an offensive article in The Times about how world leaders love Charles and want to meet him. Biden isn't going to the coronation and he's not planning on visiting Charles during a visit to Northern Ireland in April. Charles has a history of taking bribes from despots. Meanwhile Charles is evicting and firing people. He's trying to cut staff and end subsidized housing and London apartments for royals. He might evict the Queen's royal dresser, Angela Kelly, from her grace and favor cottage, which is what she deserves. He did appoint Rose Hanbury's husband, David Rocksavage, as his lord-in-waiting though! Kate's private secretary we heard so much about, Alison Corfield, declined the job. She's been working for Jamie Oliver for eight years and chose to stay at that position rather than work for Kate. Kate has been without a full time private secretary since last summer. This should have been a huge story but there's been no follow up since the announcement. Victor Steffensen is an Tagalaka writer, filmmaker, musician and consultant applying traditional knowledge values in a contemporary context, through workshops and artistic projects. In the wake of 2020's devastating bushfires, Victor released his book Fire Country, a powerful account on how the revival of cultural burning practices, and improved 'reading' of country, could help to restore our land. He is the co-founder of the National Indigenous Fire Workshops, through which he shares his knowledge of traditional burning practices throughout Australia. Victor has also connected with First Nations communities in California, Canada, and the Sámi people of Scandinavia, sharing cultural knowledge practices related to caring for country.
