“MOON SHOT” is my newest single. It's the second of my four new singles that I'm releasing one per month. Last month's release was “Rough Rider”. With “Moon Shot” I went back to my Jazz Rock Fusion roots, the music that I loved and began playing in the 1970s. Fusion combines the power of Rock with the complexity and improvisation of Jazz. The track has been called “Firey, Passionate, Smokin!”“Moon Shot” features a Special Guest - Mark Lettieri, the 5x Grammy winning guitarist who plays with Snarky Puppy, The Fearless Flyers and his own band. Mark contributed a fantastic guitar solo to the track.Click here for all links.Click here for the Official Video.---------------------------------------------The Follow Your Dream Podcast:Top 1% of all podcasts with Listeners in 200 countries! For more information and other episodes of the podcast click here. From soaring overdriven lead guitar volleys to spanky baritone smackdowns, MARK LETTIERI can pull magical melodies and stanky grooves out of just about anything with strings. His new album, Can I Tell You Something?, is a case in point. On this episode, we “land the ‘copter” on the roof of Mark's Texas home studio, play a bunch of his favorite guitars, stomp on a few of his favorite pedals, and do a deep dive on his work with everyone from SNARKY PUPPY and THE FEARLESS FLYERS to his prolific solo adventures in the studio and on the road. Speaking of the road, you can catch Mark Lettieri on tour in the U.S., the U.K., and Europe this winter/spring. This episode is presented by GuitarPlayer.com, and is hosted by JUDE GOLD.

This time around, we found Wong with his Fearless Flyers pals sticking in one spot, at Cory Wong's Syncopated Summer Camp. The four-day, four-night summit, held in Nashville, brought together ace players like Ariel Posen, Larry Carlton, and Theo Katzman to offer clinics on all things rhythm. Aside from the camp, Wong and his fellow guitar Flyer, Mark Lettieri, both had new releases to celebrate: Lettieri's recent solo record, Can I Tell You Something?, dropped in July, and Wong's Live in London and Starship Syncopation came out in May and July, respectively—plus, the Flyers' new EP was released in February. Both Lettieri and Wong toured us through the guitar gear they brought along for the camp. Welcome to Episode #136 of the Blue-in-Green:PODCAST which this week sees Imran connect with the Edinburgh-based duo, Edy Forey, to discuss their sensational debut album, 'Culture Today'. Ultimately coming to the table from vastly different musical backgrounds, Polish-born singer-songwriter Edy Szewy and Parisian pianist Guilhem Forey were able to find common ground through each of their unwavering passions for music. With Szewy predominately influenced by neo-soul and hip-hop, and Forey a devoted jazz fan, their combined efforts resulted in a sublime sonic palette that paid due praise to each's musical affections. 'Culture Today' showcases an inspired perspective on contemporary jazz-inspired neo-soul and is a project bolstered by some incredible guests including Ezra Collective's Femi Koleoso and Snarky Puppy's Michael League and Mark Lettieri. The album boasts the added distinction of Bob Power's studio wizardry throughout. We were thrilled to spend time with Edy and Guilhem to discuss how they met, the creative process, 'Culture Today' and navigating the music industry as independent artists. For more details on Edy Forey, please visit her website below: https://www.edyforey.com/ www.blueingreenradio.com www.blueingreenradio.com/p/listenlive.html TuneIn: bit.ly/2LBK0BD The Blue-in-Green:PODCAST runs in conjunction with the online radio station, Blue-in-Green:RADIO which celebrates 21st century soul, jazz, funk, Latin & hip-hop music.

"Snarky Puppy" are an American instrumental ensemble led by bassist Michael League. The group's formation can be traced back to 2004, after Micheal League's second year at the University of North Texas. He says that he was so bad as a musician he wasn't able to play with any school ensembles, so creating "Snarky Puppy" was his way of getting to play live.Straight out of the gate the group consisted of 10 members. Since those early days they have gone on to release 14 albums, toured the world, and collaborated with an ever evolving carousel of live musicians as well as with solo artists and orchestras. As usual, there is much more to know, so tune in to Jay and Jesse as they discuss this unique collective on Roots to Grooves. To listen to the full episode, including the featured music, visit... signlradio.com"Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.https://www.signlradio.comhttps://www.instagram.com/signlradiohttps://www.twitter.com/signlradiohttps://www.facebook.com/signlradiohttps://www.mixcloud.com/signlhttps://open.spotify.com/user/96mhz6qfjoztxbl2dpm0uj903?si=aAZpsoEnRAKdx85kr1QWhg

In this week's episode we welcome one of the tightest guitar players in the world, Snarky Puppy's Mark Lettieri. Mark gives us a rundown on his most precious guitars and provides insights in how to develop good time as a guitarist. Of course, we dive into how designing Mark's PRS Fiore signature model went down in socially distant times. We also talk about the influence that having kids can have on musicians and their career and clarify why Disney's Frozen movies aren't crap (spoiler: the music is great). Lastly, we discover our joint excitement for the Star Wars franchise with Mark and debate which guitarists are the equivalents to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and other Star Wars characters. Steve Jenkins talks about his bass guitar lessons available on TrueFire, performs, and answers questions. To learn more and watch the video from this live session, please visit truefire.com/live.About Steve:Steve Jenkins is part of the new wave of modern electric bass players. In addition to his mind-blowing technical prowess, his musicianship has allowed him to fit into a diverse range of musical situations that have run the gamut from face-melting prog-metal to experimental microtonal jazz-funk to dubbed-out electronica bass lines to classic sounding r&b grooves--sometimes all within the framework of one song. He also has a strong grasp of using effects and technology which makes him a true sonic force to be reckoned with. Whether playing as a sideman or as a leader making his own music, Steve is known for his beyond solid groove, creative use of cutting-edge effects and textures, melodic/virtuosic solos, and mastery of different tones and techniques for any given musical situation. As a sideman, he has toured, performed, or recorded with the likes of: Vernon Reid, Mark Lettieri, Tony MacAlpine, Screaming Headless Torsos, David Fiuczynski, Stimpy Lockjaw, Alex Skolnick, Josh Smith, Thomas Pridgen, Victor Wooten, Javier Reyes, Keith Carlock, Cindy Blackman Santana, Gene Lake as well as many others. As a bandleader, he released the critically acclaimed "mad science" in late 2004. And in May 2013, he released the long-awaited"Steve Jenkins And The Coaxial Flutter" which has been receiving high praise from press, fans, and even legendary musicians such as Dennis Chambers. As an educator, he has taught at Berklee College of Music's BassLines Summer Program (now called the Victor Wooten Summer Bass Workshop) and has been an artist-in-residence at the Bass Collective in NYC. He has also taught masterclasses and clinics all over the world and was part of the first group of faculty to teach at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in Southeast India in the Summer/Fall of 2010. He also teaches private lessons in person and via Skype. After 13 years of living in New York City, Steve moved to Los Angeles in March of 2017.Steve Jenkins proudly endorses Aguilar Amplification, Brubaker Basses, and Jim Dunlop/MXR pedals & strings. Here are what some critics say:"[Steve Jenkins And The Coaxial Flutter]" is a showcase for Jenkins' wealth of bass techniques, his wide variety of tones, and his ability to smoothly jump from fusion solos to metal riffage, sometimes all in the span of one song." -Bass Player MagazineHaving already held his own with avant-garde guitarists David Fiuczynski and Vernon Reid, New York Citys Steve Jenkins doesnt need to prove anything in terms of what he can handle. Theres plenty more than just chops and math-rock proficiency at work here. -Bass Player Magazine"He belongs in the vanguard of formidable young bass soloists, but he separates from that pack by locking down every groove that comes his way." -All About Jazz"Jenkins augments his considerable chops with a cool vision." -Bill Milkowski, Jazziz Magazine

Great fun to welcome my friend Mark Lettieri on to the podcast today. You will more than likely know him from his Grammy Award winning work with Snarky Puppy, his 5 solo album as a band leader, and for simply being at the forefront of modern guitar gurus both on tour and in the studio.

Today I have the great pleasure of connecting with legendary producer and pianist Daniel Weatherspoon, who is about to release his next project titled Journey. The list of Grammy nominations, gold records, and awards is stunning, and his roster of clients is the same, listing greats Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Fred Hammond and many more. His 2016 debut - The Langley Park project - was met with critical acclaim and commercial success. The new album Journey , set for release worldwide on March 10th, is a soothing and soulful well, Journey with notable guests from Mark Lettieri to PJ Morton. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Mark Lettieri (https://www.marklettieri.com) is a guitarist, composer, session musician, and producer based in Fort Worth, TX, best known for his work with Snarky Puppy and the Mark Lettieri Trio. His latest record, Spark and Echo, is available now.
This week Beebs and Smith catch up with the incredible Mark Lettieri. Funk, jazz, rock, (baritone even!) you name it Mark pulls from a diverse range of influences, bringing his own unique voice on the instrument to grammy award winning super group Snarky Puppy, a whole host of session credits and of course his fantastic solo albums. Mark's also a lovely chap to boot and the guys had a great time chewing the six string fat for an hour or so. They get into the weeds about writing, working out parts, fretboard visualisation, instagram, identity and living in the cracks between rock and jazz. Enjoy Guys! “…blues-rock-funk attitude, but with a little bit of jazz language… and a delay pedal… and a whammy bar.” Ever wonder what it’s like to play with a diverse range of artists like Snarky Puppy, Erykah Badu, and Pat Boone, all while recording a weekly television show and releasing your own records at the same time? Guitarist Mark Lettieri talks about it in our inaugural interview. Some of Mark’s recent studio work includes sessions for David Crosby, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Adam Levine, Kirk Franklin, Lalah Hathaway, Lupe Fiasco, Keyshia Cole, and Xzibit. We caught up with Mark shortly after the release of his third solo album, Spark and Echo, and as he prepares for a joint tour of the Southeast US with keyboard phenom Shaun Martin.
