The Collaboration you never knew you needed until now. WNOW has been doing amazing work in the Mens Mental Health space, so when mates within a few communities here in the Eastern Suburbs reached out about combining the two movements on an Ironman Suit, it was simply a no brainer. WNOW meet every Wednesday morning at 6am for a conversation, an exercise, and a space to not feel alone. With a variety of locations not only here in Australia, but world wide, we are excited to introduce this movement to Friends of the Floral that may not have heard about this community. https://www.instagram.com/w__n__o__w?igsh=MWxkMXp0NzVnY3FndQ==Mack Newton Jones & Cormac Walsh drop into the Bottle. It studio to discuss their journey with WNOW and the upcoming Cairns Ironman where the Floral/WNOW Suits will be flying around under the Palms. With 2 Athletes racing the 70.3, Mack and Jack Foster, and Cormac and Josh Hardy racing the full. We speak about their training, mindset and what ironman has bought to their lives. This conversation touches on a variety of common topics that arise with Mens Mental Health, and it is refreshing AF to once again be reminded that we have an involved community pursuing the Positve, the Light, rather than being absorbed by the Dark.We make reference to Cormacs Dad being a sounding board for advice, then with him moving to Aus, missing that closeness to discuss life. I circle back and reference that loss, and it may appear that his father has passed. We assure you that he is alive and well, and this isn't a memorial episode. Thankyou for listening and supporting Bottle.It. The YouTube link will be made available during the week.B

Sydney B may be young at 17-years-old, but her music touches on aspects of life that bothteens and adults can relate to. Her new track “Beautiful” delves into the world of promoting highself esteem and positivity through her resounding vocals and songwriting skills.“I want to radiate positivity no matter where I go or what I do,” she said. “All of my music isgeared toward positive feelings and creating a world of hope. That's my goal.”When she was just getting started, Sydney B's producer asked her what she wanted to writeabout. Through discussing it they found that she shared insecurities and life obstacles that arecommon for not just teenagers, but people of any age.“I wanted to send a message that says everyone is beautiful in their own way and that no one'salone,” she said.“Beautiful” was also used in a new music video that portrays Sydney B at an audition with othermusicians practicing and waiting for their turn. The director walked her through the process, as itwas being created to show an example of what the music stands for. With her background inmusic and theater she could relate to what the video was portraying, as it came naturally.“We have a lot of other people go through the audition process in the video to show that we'reall the same and nobody is greater or less than another,” she said. “We all have our differencesand that is what makes us so beautiful in our own way.”In the new track, Sydney B sings:“I took a moment just to look in the mirrorOk I'm ready to take on the worldFor every moment I cryI know these tears have gone dryCuz I'm beautifulI'm beautifulI tell the world I'm beautiful.”The mirror analogy is about looking inward, she said, as it can be difficult to do when beingfocused on what's on the outside. This can be about your personal feelings or what youperceive people see you as.“The point of that is to look inside and find what is beautiful within you,” she said. “Everyone hasbeautiful traits and beautiful qualities within themselves, and when you tap into that it can createyour passion or life's calling.”Sydney B began singing in a choir when she was nine, and then became involved in musicaltheater in middle school. While she grew up in a family that was more sports focused, she said itwas music what really sparked her interest.“I got into music and it was something that I never wanted to stop,” Sydney B said. “I alwayswanted to be singing. No matter how long any rehearsal was, I'd want to be there the wholetime. I never got bored. It was where I found my passion and something I really loved.”She is inspired by her vast influences from all sorts of musical genres, as she loves music as awhole and not just a specific part of it. One thing is for sure about her style: she is promotinghope through her lyrics and uplifting beats. The Atlanta based musician found herself through music. She wants to use this to spread thismessage, as it has helped her greatly in life.“I'm not all the way there and I don't know if I ever will be,” she said. “I think that's part of whatmakes my music, my music. It's not perfect and I'm not perfect, and I think that's an importantmessage for everyone to hear.”Sydney B has about a dozen songs that she says are on the horizon to be released in the nearfuture.

Kat shares her experience of her 2 very different birth and postnatal periods. The first was a planned homebirth that ended up being a hospital birth, with a stay in the NICU afterwards. This was a big baby lead to a third degree tear and extra monitoring and lots of decision making in her next pregnancy. The birth of her much smaller second baby was a positive hospital birth without even a graze and a quick turn around. If you have any questions for Kat or myself please feel free to get intouch. What is Positive Psychology?Positive psychology is essentially the science of what goes well. It’s looking at achievement, success, happiness, love, kindness and post traumatic growth. It aims to find ways to make life better for people. In this episode we talk to Dr Jo Lukins about all things positive psychology, working with the minds of professional athletes, embracing the ‘suck’, the power of habit, and so much more! Make sure you listen right up until the end for some take home strategies you can implement into your daily life.It is important to note that positive psychology can benefit people at different stages on the mental health spectrum, but if you are really struggling it’s important to get help. Talk to friends, family or your doctor.About Dr Jo Lukins:Jo spends her day inside the heads of individuals, teams and organisations – seeking to understand what makes them tick and assisting them to reach their potential. A psychological Indiana Jones, she describes it as a truly fascinating career that she is grateful for every day.She holds a PhD in Psychology, has over 25 year’s experience, and a breadth of knowledge in the sport, organizational and educational domains. Jo has worked with elite athletes and outstanding professionals (such as Johnathan Thurston) throughout her career, giving her a unique insight into the world of success. She has been acknowledged as an expert in her field, being awarded an Outstanding Alumni by James Cook University for her achievements. Jo is sought after as a presenter, interventionist and for her expertise in the media space. Her new book 'The Elite - Think Like an Athlete, Succeed Like a Champion' will be available in May 2019.”Knowing that I have made a difference in the lives of others is the ‘why’ of my work, and the most satisfying element of my career.”

If we're going to be successful in the field of nutrition, then we've got to come to the realization that EVERYTHING you put into your body has an impact. Whether you're eating a walnut or a doughnut, it will change every cell in your body at some level. Food is truly that powerful. It's time we start to leverage this to look and feel the way that we want. I often tell people that food isn't just food, it's information. And we need to start asking questions like: What kind of information am I putting into my body? Before you make a decision to eat a food, take a supplement, or take a drug, just take a second and contemplate what this substance is commanding your body to do. Are you making a food choice that is commanding your body to secrete more insulin than it can handle, store more fat, and damage your metabolism? You can literally command your body to do this with a bottle of Mountain Dew. Are you taking a synthetic supplement that will overstimulate your nervous system and make you think that you have more energy... when you're really just burning out your adrenal glands? We have to take more responsibility for what we are putting into our bodies so that we can rise above the disease, poor performance, and struggle that has become common place in our society. Knowing all of this, it's not a small thing to take a supplement. You'd better know what's in that supplement, where it comes from, and whether or not the human body even recognizes it in the first place. Today we've got on the CEO of a company that is focused on what they call Total Human Optimization. Everyone from professional athletes to top executives are rushing to get their hands on the products and information that this company has put together. Onnit is a brand that's making huge waves in the fitness and nutrition industry by standing for something unique. It's not just about the incredible supplements they carry (that are actually derived from earth grown nutrients), it's about the food you eat, it's about the exercise you do, and it's about the lifestyle you take on to bring it all together and make it work. The CEO of Onnit, Aubrey Marcus, cares about people, cares about service, and cares about making a real impact. He's a leader that really walks his talk, and he's about to share a wealth of information with you that can improve your life for many years to come. In this episode you'll discover: How to turn the knowledge you acquire into real change in your life. What influenced Aubrey to begin taking supplements (great story about a napkin!) Why athlete's like A.J. Hawk from the Green Bay Packers are using Onnit products (this will surprise you!) Why earth-grown nutrients need to be the basis of all high quality supplements. How taking synthetic supplements can work in the short-term but cost you in the long-term. What compounds in hemp protein make it so interactive with human muscle. Why hemp was paramount to the growth of the U.S. then eventually banned due to corporate interest. Whether or not hemp protein will cause you to fail a drug test. How using higher quality supplements saves you money because you use less of it. Why radioactive wastes and heavy metals may be a concern with conventional fish oil. Where to find a safer, more effective source of Omega 3's. How cordyceps impacts your cells to give you more energy. What an adaptogen is and why we need them. How our society has been trained to fear dietary fat. Why dietary fat is CRITICAL to your nervous system function (you'll love this analogy!) What Trilogy Butter is and why I eat it out of the jar like a madman. Why the human body is not designed to only do linear movements (squats are great but...) Why service, not money, is the key to success in the long-term. Items mentioned in this episode include: Onnit.com/Model

Have you ever heard the saying, "First impressions last a lifetime"? Whether it's true or not, we make snap judgements about people upon meeting them for the first time. It's built into us as an evolutionary advantage to be critical, recognize patterns, and to observe the health and safety of those around us. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we are judging and being judged with each and every person that we meet. And the very first thing that people see when in close contact with us is the health (or lack thereof) of our skin. Our skin is a symbol of vitality. It is the outermost representation of what's going on with our overall health. On the surface level we want clear, radiant skin to be more attractive to the world around us. On a deeper level our skin can be an indicator of potential (or even chronic) health problems. Our skin isn't just something superficial to look at, it's one of of best resources for monitoring our internal health and well-being. Today you're going to learn about your skin in an intimate and fun way. You're going to learn things about your skin that you've never heard before, and you're going to appreciate and care for your skin in a whole new way because of it. It's time to love the skin you're in and take action to have the best skin health possible. The compliments you get will be nice, but the overall vitality you get will be even nicer. In this episode you'll discover: What your skin can indicate about your health. Why we unconsciously make judgements about someone's appearance. What your skin is actually responsible for (what your skin does will surprise you!) How your skin develops. Why stress impacts your skin health. Why we have different layers of skin. What role your skin has in detoxification. How your skin interacts with sunlight and other light sources. What internal organs are responsible for your skin's appearance (must know info!) What our 4 major eliminatory organs are. How your brain impacts the function of your skin. 7 tips to have the best skin ever! An amazing skin transformation story from eliminating ONE irritating food. What glycation is and why you do NOT want this happening with your skin. Why dairy products are so addictive. Why you need to be careful about "natural" sweeteners if you have skin problems. How wheat can damage your skin, waistline, and immune system. Why skin care products and soaps can be the cause of your skin problems. Why dietary fats are so important for your skin's health. How to ensure you're getting enough water to hydrate your skin. How to get a foot makeover (funny, but true). What food products lead to wrinkles and liver spots. The secret to using olive oil to improve your skin health. Many people feel that their busy schedules can be overwhelming at times. And it's typically during the overwhelm that the not-so-good decisions are made with what we eat, drink, and participate in. To quote the wise sage Morpheus on this one, "Welcome to the real world." By the way, if you haven't seen The Matrix yet, drop down and give me 20 pushups because that's just unacceptable... Okay, now you may read on. :) Life isn't going to be slowing down any time soon. There will always be something to do, someplace to be, and someone that needs your time and energy. The big "ah-ha" message to takeaway from all of this is that you literally cannot manage time. Time is just going to happen, you can't do anything about that. But what you can do is manage YOURSELF, and therein lies your true power. I've brought on a very special guest to share with you some strategies to help you navigate this world of never-ending responsibilities and take full control of your health and well-being. Now, don't forget to add family to the mix too. You're going to receive some game-changing tips if you have a family to care for and you want them to be happy and healthy as well. Today, it's more than possible for you to have the health, body, and life you want with all that you have going on. It's simply about learning from those who've already done it, taking their strategies on as your own, and making the results happen even faster. The only thing that can stop you is you. What if you were able to read an entire book every day of your life? Can you imagine how much knowledge you'd have access to? And can you see how valuable you'd become as a leader in business as well as your personal life? It's well known that we're only using a small fraction of what our brains are capable of. There is so much that the human mind can achieve if we only knew how to access it, and today you're going to learn the first steps. My guest is a world-renowned learning expert, who does, in fact, read a book a day. He will share with you how he's no more extraordinary than you are, and how it's just a matter of learning some basic tools to access your superhuman potential. In this episode you'll discover: How someone with learning difficulties became a world-leading memory expert. How school teaches us what to learn but not HOW to learn. Why extremely successful leaders and celebrities look for ways to improve their brain. How Jim Kwik ended up on a airplane with the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The #1 key to improving your memory (it's simple, but profound!) Why two-thirds of your memory is under your complete control. Why the school system hasn't changed much, even though the world has. The 3 keys to remembering anything. What common things distract our attention and prevent us from being present. A game-changing accelerated learning technique that I use. How one simple trick can make you read 25 to 50 percent faster immediately. Why using your body in a different way can improve your brain function.
