NEWS WEAKLY – The Story of KarbalaThis week, I step away from the headlines to tell one of the most powerful stories in the Muslim world: the Battle of Karbala. The death of Husain ibn Ali in 680 CE shaped the split between Sunni and Shia Islam and created a moral narrative about power, justice, and martyrdom that still echoes through modern politics, from Karachi to Tehran. It's a very different episode, but I feel like it's a central element missing from the analysis and understanding of Iran and the IRGC's self perception, global Shia empathy towards the Ayatollah, and how the Iranian government has become that which it purports to hate.Shenanigans and tomfoolery will be back next week. Big Rich, TD, and Fletch recap their wild day roaming around the legendary San Diego Zoo Safari Park — from massive elephants to the moments that made them question whether they could survive in the wild. That leads to the big debate: what's the meanest animal you could realistically fight… and still win? Listeners call in with some very questionable confidence. Plus, the guys welcome Chris Connolly from the San Diego Padres to break down all the awesome stadium giveaways coming this season and which ones fans will definitely want to get to the ballpark early for. Animals, Padres swag, and way too much confidence about fighting wildlife — it's another ridiculous morning with Big Rich, TD, and Fletch.

As communities across Clare prepare to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, there are plenty of family-friendly events taking place across the county. In Sixmilebridge, final preparations are underway for the annual Sixmilebridge St Patrick's Day Parade, which gets underway from Mount Ievers at 12:45 on the day with this year's theme “Big Dreams, Bright Futures.” In Fanore, the finishing touches are being added to their St Patrick's Day celebrations which kick off on the 15th of March at 2pm for Fanore Beach, there are lots of exciting events to look forward to like DJ John Carey with live music and possibly a circus surprise. Meanwhile, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park will be hosting a special Shamrocks and Shenanigans celebration this Sunday, featuring traditional music, Irish dancing, family entertainment and even a chance to meet St Patrick himself. Alan Morrissey was joined on Morning Focus by Anne Pilkington from the Fanore Parade, PJ Ryan from the Sixmilebridge St Patrick's Day Parade Committee and Marie Brennan, Events Manager at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park to find out more. The studio is about to get a whole lot younger… and possibly a whole lot dumber (in the best possible way).On this episode of The Rizzuto Show, Rizz reveals that his teenage son and a group of friends are heading into the studio for what can only be described as a generational experiment. The kids apparently built an actual whiteboard presentation just to convince Rizz to let them on the air. Are they future radio stars? Are they just trying to skip school? Or is this the beginning of a full-blown “Teen Takeover” of the show? The crew prepares for the incoming chaos while also debating the most important parenting question of the day: how embarrassing will dad be on live radio? Before the teenage invasion begins, the gang plays a hilarious game of “Who Costs More on Cameo?” featuring comedians and celebrities you absolutely forgot were even on Cameo. The crew tries to guess who charges more for a personalized video message: Kevin from The Office or Andrew Dice Clay? Bam Margera or Michael Rapaport? Cedric the Entertainer or Craig Kilborn? The answers are surprising, occasionally ridiculous, and proof that some celebrities definitely know their worth… while others might need to bump their price by about $100.Then it's time for the legendary Crap on Celebrities segment, where the entertainment world once again proves it's stranger than fiction. The crew breaks down the bizarre story of a woman arrested after allegedly firing shots outside Rihanna's home. There's also a wild coincidence involving the band Boston and the anniversary of Brad Delp's passing, Jack White clarifying comments about Taylor Swift that sent the internet into meltdown mode, and Stephen A. Smith explaining exactly why a presidential run in 2028 would absolutely ruin his bank account.Movie fans also get plenty to chew on as the show talks about a new Rambo prequel, a possible return to Middle-earth with The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, and the latest Corey Feldman drama that… honestly feels very on brand for Corey Feldman.Add in birthdays, ridiculous celebrity trivia, Cameo pricing debates, and the looming arrival of a group of teenagers ready to roast their friend's dad on air, and you've got another perfectly chaotic episode of your favorite comedy podcast. If you like daily humor, pop culture commentary, weird celebrity stories, and a morning show that proudly spirals off the rails, you're in the right place. This episode of The Rizzuto Show comedy podcast is full of the kind of unpredictable moments that make live radio fun — especially when teenagers are involved.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The gang is finally back together… minus a couple fallopian tubes. In today's daily comedy show, Lern returns to the studio only days after surgery and immediately proves two things: recovery is messy, and The Rizzuto Show has absolutely zero boundaries when it comes to discussing medical procedures. From laparoscopic photos to recovery horror stories and the terrifying first post-surgery bathroom trip, the crew dives headfirst into the weird, painful, and hilariously awkward realities of healing.Naturally, the conversation derails almost immediately. What starts as a post-surgery check-in spirals into a surprisingly educational discussion about gut health, toilet habits, and the “10-minute rule” doctors swear by. Apparently most of us are turning the bathroom into a second office… and our phones are the biggest reason why. Then things take a turn into tech-saving-lives territory when the crew talks about a wild story of an Apple Watch automatically calling 911 after a crash that left a driver trapped upside down in a freezing river. It's one of those rare moments where technology actually looks like a superhero instead of something that just tracks how poorly you slept. But the chaos really ramps up when Rafe reveals he's been invited to join a Blackfoot tribe in Canada… except there's a slight problem: Canada doesn't love letting people in with old DUIs. What follows is a completely unhinged deep dive into border laws, criminal rehabilitation paperwork, and the crew brainstorming ways to sneak Rafe into Alberta like some kind of comedy-podcast fugitive. And just when you think things can't get stranger, the show tackles a mind-bending hypothetical: if you could go back in time and change ONE thing in your life, what would it be? One answer involves preventing dogs from ever jumping on the bed. Another involves trying to stop 9/11 with nothing but rollerblades, a Limp Bizkit shirt, and a desperate warning.Yes… it's that kind of episode. If you love ridiculous conversations, weird news stories, and friends roasting each other through every awkward moment of life, this daily comedy show delivers exactly the chaos you signed up for.Because when The Rizzuto Show gets together, even surgery recovery somehow turns into a completely unpredictable daily comedy show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Rob, Jeremy, and Joe get you ready for a Thursday edition of the BBMS.
Welcome back to your favorite daily comedy show, where absolutely nothing stays on topic and somehow everything still works.Today's chaos kicks off with a brand-new listener game: Two Truths and a Lie. The twist? You call in. You try to fool us. And if you trick the majority of the studio, you win tickets. Simple. Clean. Probably not. Because the Rizz Show crew immediately proves we are wildly overconfident in our lie-detecting abilities. Shocking. From there, things take a hard left into movie talk — including whether The Substance is a safe airplane watch (spoiler: absolutely not unless you enjoy strangers thinking you're watching something wildly inappropriate). Then we spiral into HBO's DTF St. Louis and whether the show actually understands St. Louis… or just Googled “Arch” and called it a day. Why does every character say “St. Louis” like they're being paid per mention? And why does every window apparently have a perfect Arch view? We investigate. Loudly. In Crap on Celebrities, we unpack:Christina Applegate ditching Brad Pitt for Sebastian Bach (imagine that car ride home).Jim Carrey's new face and the internet screaming “clone conspiracy.”Billy Idol kicking heroin by switching to crack (which is… a strategy?).Billy Corgan's theory that rock music was intentionally dialed down by shadowy forces. Why country music is suddenly dominating everything.Ozzfest's return.Squid Game's “celebrity” edition (and we use the term loosely).Basically, this daily comedy show covers celebrity news, pop culture commentary, music chaos, and weird news with the exact level of sarcasm you'd expect from grown adults arguing about recumbent bikes. And because we're nothing if not competitive, we end with listener showdowns in Two Truths and a Lie — proving once again that our audience is either wildly fascinating… or disturbingly good at lying. It's another beautifully unhinged daily comedy show from Rizz and the gang — serving up funny stories, entertainment gossip, St. Louis flavor, and just enough nonsense to make your commute slightly less painful.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This podcast was recorded as a live video twitch stream, however, there's a lot of good conversation AND important arc information contained, especially starting at 1 hour, so we wanted to share all of the shenanigans. Enjoy! The stream opens with big “we're back on land” energy and immediately turns into a warm roll call of familiar names, cruise survivors, and chat antics. DJs and Griffin rehash the Star Trek cruise week and the post-cruise meetup, painting it as equal parts community-hug-fest and comedy show, with food, drinks, darts, merch, and a steady drip of lovingly roasted memories. A huge chunk of the early show is basically a victory lap for the community: how many people showed up, how organically Fleet Command seemed to be everywhere on the ship, and how meaningful it was seeing alliance mates traveling together like it's a family reunion with warp cores. There's also peak “DJz life” content in the form of shield-check chaperones (plural), banana-hat signatures, and the reminder that mining plus PvP habits create… opportunities… for raids. They also spend time shouting out behind-the-scenes production and community helpers, including how much one-on-one coaching and tool-sharing happened onboard (the vibe is “Fleet Command office hours… but on a ship”). It's an affectionate nod to the playerbase being the real engine room: people teaching, sharing, solving, and generally keeping the galaxy spinning even when the game tries to throw a wrench into the replicator. Then the stream shifts into “Arcfall Eve briefing” mode: the arc launches tomorrow, maintenance is coming, and the goal is to get viewers pointed in the right direction before reset. They outline how the upcoming loop is structured around rotating tasks and progression gates, with rewards tied to building upgrades and faction-style advancement. In particular, the show highlights that tasks rotate (weekly cadence implied) and that some tasks require specific building levels to even unlock. A key theme in the mid-to-late segment is the “feelings of value” conversation: why rewards may look smaller or more fragmented now, how currencies are spread across systems, and how that impacts player satisfaction even if the total value is “supposed” to be there. They frame it as an intentional design direction, but also validate the frustration and keep the focus on how to navigate the loop efficiently rather than emotionally faceplanting into it. Finally, the stream gets very tactical about the Conqueror Borg Solo Armadas component: they call out specific research nodes that are described as critical for success (including isolated defense, apex shred, and critical damage reduction versus those armadas), and they clarify how the currency path works: earn via the Maverick track, exchange in a faction store flow, and use the resulting particles to unlock the needed research. They close with rapid-fire reminders, a little merch-and-meme spice, and a clean handoff/raid into the overnight coverage pipeline leading into maintenance. 00:00 – Cold open, vibes, “show starts soon” energy and the crew rolls in 10:18 – Post-cruise glow: shoutouts, meetup love, and the chat parade begins 20:36 – Fleet Command community on the ship: how big it felt this year, and why it mattered 30:54 – Shield babysitters, banana hats, and “why not just pop a week-long shield?” 41:12 – Meet-up wrap: crowd surge, venue heat, swag, engravings, and chaos (the fun kind) 51:30 – Bar stories and “Cheaters” lore; the Friday-night detour saga 01:01:48 – Back to business: pivot from cruise stories toward Arcfall Eve “we've got leaks” mode 01:12:06 – Early Arcfall breakdown: what's coming, what to focus, what to ignore (for now) 01:22:24 – Systems/tasks overview: what rotates, what's weekly, and how the loop is expected to behave 01:32:42 – Specialty buildings + progression talk (including early “this should be reachable” math) 01:43:00 – “Feelings of value” discussion: reward spread across currencies and why it feels different 01:53:18 – More arc loop specifics: currencies, shops, and how the grind is meant to translate into upgrades 02:03:36 – The task/research pipeline starts to crystallize: what gates what, and what to prep tonight 02:13:54 – Conqueror Borg Solo Armadas: the must-have research callouts begin 02:24:12 – Currency flow explained: Maverick track → faction store exchange → research particles → nodes 02:34:30 – Practical warnings: don't faceplant into new content without the right research setup 02:44:48 – Continued “how to not waste directives” guidance and tomorrow-proofing your first-day choices 02:55:06 – Final Arcfall Eve reminders: what to watch at maintenance, what to do immediately after reset 03:05:24 – Closing stretch: meme-making, merch chatter, and “Scopely please fix this in the next 3 hours” 03:15:40 – Sign-off + raid plan: handing off to Warp Drive Five and teeing up next-day coverage

We've had quite a few dumb moments happening in college basketball, from Chad Baker-Mazara leaving his team midway through the game to Mick Cronin ejecting his own player after a flagrant foul. Meanwhile, Bruce Pearl is advocating that Miami (OH) should not make the NCAA Tournament despite a 29-0 record, while 15-14 Auburn should because they've played a harder schedule. Silly. And we've unfortunately seen several star players go out with injuries, but it isn't the death knell you'd expect for most of their teams. Plus, Joey and Sean go to an Austin Spurs game. Shenanigans predictably ensue.Bracket Matrix: bracketmatrix.comPodcast the Newsletter: https://podcastthenewsletter.substack.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/sports-r-dumb/donations

In this in-depth episode of the Engage Podcast, host First Officer Ryan Argenta is joined by MEC Executive Administrator Captain Rich Wheeler and Scheduling Committee Vice Chairman Captain Josh Cantrell to unpack the growing complexity behind open time, inverse assignments, and the rollout of Quick Slips under MOU 25-05. The conversation traces how chronic understaffing, outdated staffing formulas, expanding flying schedules, and evolving contract provisions have combined to create today's operational pressure cooker. Rich and Josh explain how PCS, manual trip coverage, batch sizes, proactive rest, and 23 M.7 usage interact behind the scenes, often in ways that are invisible to line pilots but deeply impactful to pay, quality of life, and schedule stability. They break down why inverse assignments exploded in recent years, how “race-to-the-phone” coverage undermined seniority, and why Quick Slips represent a major shift toward restoring transparency, structure, and fairness in last-minute flying. With historical perspective and practical insight, this episode separates fact from rumor and explains what “controlled chaos” really means in today's scheduling environment. Whether you're chasing premium flying, protecting your days off, or simply trying to understand why the system feels so strained, this conversation offers clarity, context, and a realistic path forward.

On today's episode of The Rizzuto Show, we once again prove that reality is the most unhinged writer in America. We kick things off with a story that made the entire studio question everything: a 32-year-old Kentucky man arrested after being caught having sex with roadkill. Yes. A deer. On the side of the road. At 7pm. In public. Pants around the knees. Covered in fur. It's the kind of headline that makes you pause and whisper, “We can't make this up,” because legally and emotionally, we shouldn't have to. The mugshot breakdown alone turns into a full forensic roast session, complete with thumb comparisons and psychic-level suspect sketch predictions. From there, we try to cleanse our brains with a round of Fake News of Florida — because nothing says healing like emotional support squirrels, hurricane target practice warnings, inflatable dolphins for morale, and drive-thru confessionals absolving tacos. Moon flexes his suspiciously solid Florida knowledge, callers put their dignity on the line, and we once again confirm that Florida doesn't need our help being weird. We also get unexpectedly wholesome when the conversation shifts to roadkill heartbreak and why some of us get genuinely sad over animals on the side of the road. (Yes, even the big biker truck driver dudes. We see you. We feel you.) It's emotional growth… immediately followed by someone saying “deer eye for the psycho guy.” Because balance. This episode is everything you expect from a funny podcast that thrives on weird news, sarcastic humor, and daily chaos. From Kentucky criminal headlines to Florida's annual “don't shoot the hurricane” reminders, it's your daily dose of absurdity wrapped in a comedy show that somehow airs on actual radio. If you love a funny podcast that blends unusual news stories, St. Louis attitude, and the kind of banter that feels like hanging out with your most unfiltered friends — welcome home. On today's episode of The Rizzuto Show, we prove once again that reality is undefeated. We kick things off with a story so unhinged it feels like it should be from Florida… but nope — Kentucky said, “Hold my deer.” A 32-year-old man was arrested after allegedly being caught in a roadside situation with a deceased deer. Yes. That sentence is real. Yes. We all regret knowing it. And yes, we break it down in the only way a funny podcast can — equal parts disbelief, sarcasm, and “how is this even a charge?”From there, we spiral (as we do) into a round of Fake News or Florida, where headlines about sword fights in pools and hurricane target practice somehow feel believable. If you've ever wondered how many times Florida residents need to be told not to shoot at weather systems… this is your moment. But it's not all deer chaos and noodle duels. We also dig into the BAFTA controversy involving a Tourette's-related incident that sparked a serious debate about intent vs. impact. It's one of those rare moments where this funny podcast pumps the brakes just long enough to have a real conversation — before inevitably derailing again. And of course, no episode would be complete without:Moon explaining why he listens to educational podcasts at 1.8x speed like he's training for the Mental Olympics.Rock & Roll Hall of Fame arguments that will absolutely upset someone.Concert etiquette breakdowns (stop elbowing people during “Give It Away.” We hear it too.)And a heartfelt but mildly chaotic discussion about going to concerts alone. It's celebrity news, weird crimes, pop culture commentary, music debates, and just enough sarcasm to keep it all barely under control. If you love daily humor, entertainment gossip, ridiculous real-life stories, and a crew that roasts each other as hard as they roast the headlines, this is your new favorite funny podcast. And remember — if you're buying someone festival tickets… maybe get two.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.A mother went missing in 2001.
