Welcome to Jenna and Alex's epic equestrian journey through the trails, pastures, and rings of nostalgia as they attempt to turn Tim into a full-fledged Horse Girl! Stephen Adams joins us to talk about horses, but he has a problematic relationship here see because most of the time he wants to combine them with hand grenades? Like... did he even consider how we would be at a severe disadvantage when he armed the horses? Anyways, Stephen Adams, horse armorer. New episode every other Wednesday! Media: Into the West | Movie
This week on Wise_N_Nerdy, we're joined by the one and only Stephen Adams as we dive deep into the wild world of fatherhood and fandom.
After an Iowa Track & Field star clocked a 4.12 40 during halftime of the Hawkeyes game, it leads us to open the show with Robert Horry’s second homework assignment of the week. He wanted to know what athletes could excel in other sports – and Jenners asks about NBA players specifically who we think could play in the NFL. Names like LeBron and Ant of course pop up, but Rob goes with the obvious picks of Charlie Ward and Jalen Suggs, who both played college football. As the season unfolds, Rob also wants to know what Wemby can do to put on weight before we get too far in, especially after that video surfaced this week of Stephen Adams backing him down in the post and there was nothing Wemby could do to stop him. Plus after Anthony Richardson checked himself out of the Colts game, it reminds Rob of the time he pulled himself out of a game, but not because he was tired but because he was mad at Latrell Sprewell. Listeners also want to know what Rob thought about Chris Paul taking a swing at Dillon Brooks in the scrum this week, and Rob says that if you wanted to fight a guy in his day you just did it, or met at center court like Kobe and Reggie Miller. We have even more listener questions on the table, including – Are the Magic poised for a breakout season? Is Russell Westbrook cooked, or just in the wrong system in Denver as Rob suggests? We dive into that, and acknowledge the NBA Halloween costume of the year… which goes to the guy who dressed up like Manu Ginobili and his girlfriend who dressed up as the bat he swatted out of the air during a game!
In this exciting episode of the Wise_N_Nerdy podcast, Charles and Joe are joined by special guests Anthony Vito and returning guest Stephen Adams for a lively and thought-provoking discussion. The episode kicks off with the question of the week, "Would you rather have the ability to transform into anything or teleport anywhere?" The hosts dive into a fun debate, weighing the pros and cons of transformation powers versus teleportation, sparking some intriguing insights.Next, thanks to the traditional roll of the dice, the conversation flows into the 'How do I...?' segment. Here, the hosts share invaluable tips on improving lighting in a home studio, offering practical advice for anyone looking to enhance their setup. The dice then lead the group to the 'Council of Dads' segment, where they reflect on classic movies that should never be remade. This segment provides a blend of nostalgia and strong opinions on which films should be left untouched.Of course, no episode is complete without some hearty laughs, and the dad jokes that follow are met with thunderous laughter, keeping the energy lighthearted and fun. Then comes a delightful surprise as the listener feedback segment brings us some heartwarming proposal stories from CaseyJay's family, adding a personal and touching touch to the show.In the 'Daddy tell me a story' segment, Charles highlights the importance of having redundant recordings and backups for files, underscoring the need for preparedness in podcasting. It's a must-hear for any content creator! The show wraps up with the 'What are you Nerding out about?' segment. Joe shares how cleaning his office brings him joy and discusses his new favorite golf anime, Rising Impact. Stephen talks about his enthusiasm for Buffer, a social media tool he discovered at Dragon Con, while Vito tells an epic tale about replacing a lighting fixture and recounts some thrilling D&D sessions. Charles wraps up by expressing his excitement for Audio Hijack, a powerful tool for recording podcasts.Throughout the episode, listeners are encouraged to "Find your FAMdom" and embrace the things they love. The Macon Bibb County Industrial Authority does a lot of BIG things for our community, so big, they have to turn almost everything into an acronym! Since 2017, MBCIA has generated $2.3 billion in new private investment. Tune in as we talk to Stephen Adams, the Executive Director of MBCIA about top secrets projects, and how what they do is a lot like "dating" in the industry world.
We open the bonus show this week with audio of Stephen Adams - who appeared on a podcast this week and admitted he claimed to not speak English to avoid Kevin Garnett's trash talk. Rob talks about getting into it with KG on the floor but it was actually Charles Barkley who talked the most trash to him. Plus with Nike releasing Michael Jordan's eye-popping earnings from 2023, we ask Rob about missed investment opportunities, and Rob admits he had the chance to get in on the ground floor for Under Armor and Home Depot and missed out! Donovan Mitchell said this week that Stephen A's critique of his game is what motivated him, and Rob had a similar encounter with the legend Dick Vitale. And was Rob ever as unqualified as the Olympic break dancer that went super viral this week? He says his first times on TV were the only times he felt uneasy about doing something in sports. And with Cee Dee Lamb being a friend of Rob's family, we pick his brain about where that young man stands with his holdout, and how Dallas has fumbled this process with a few of its biggest stars. Finally a weird southern moment on the Tennessee Titans broadcast puts Rob's southern vernacular to the test, and we wonder how good will Spaceball 2 be now that it's announced.
This week, Stephen Adams is back on the show to share in the GenX/Millenial Trauma that is, The Neverending Story. But is it really as traumatic as we all remember? Or maybe it's just the less than stellar ADR work that made it difficult to watch. Either way, Stephen somehow had missed this one, so we need to know what he thinks about it? Did he love it, or find it boring? And would he show it to his son? Also, if it were being remade today, who should be at the helm? Diane Holt and Will Leitch are hosting a bit of a reunion this time - as three former members of ECONI, the Evangelical Contribution on Northern lreland, join them at Commission. It's a big day as the gang are allowed into Commission's hallowed Studio 1 because there are so many of them to fit around the table!Lynda Gould, David Porter, and Stephen Adams tell Diane and Will how they were inspired to act. But they also have serious points to make about what they were trying to do with ECONI in the 1980s and 1990s, and how some other Christians were determined that it was the wrong approach. What should have been the cry back then? "For God and Ulster"? Or "For God and His Glory Alone"? And what do they think the cry should be now?Produced for Thrive IrelandMade by Commission Christian RadioIn association with The Northern Ireland Community Relations Council

Peter Avsenew was troubled most of his life he had a troubled upbringing including physical and sexual abuse, but it was the sudden death of his sister that seemed to gin up his rage and anger. In December of 2010 responding to a welfare check police went to the Broward County home of Kevin Powell and Stephen Adams. The couple had been shot and bludgeoned multiple times, their bodies were wrapped in bleach-soaked blankets. Police found several copies of Craigslist ads written by Peter Avsenew looking for financial support in exchange for sexual favors. The couple's SUV and many of their valuable items were stolen. When Avsenew arrived unannounced at his mother's house he was driving the SUV. After a few days at his mother's house, which included drafting her into ditching the SUV, a frightened Jeanne Avsenew became suspicious searching the computer his son was using she found he was wanted for two homicides. What would you do in this situation? Would you keep your child's secret or would you turn him in?

Have you ever felt trapped at work, focusing on how you're limited and what you can't do? Today on Conflict Managed, Stephen Adams, Founder and Director of Inspirational Coaching Limited, encourages us to reframe our disempowering self-talk, and ask ourselves, “What can I do?” After 26 years working for a well-known UK retail bank, Stephen Adams took redundancy in the autumn of 2019. Despite working in the finance sector for most of his career, his roles & responsibilities primarily focused on supporting people rather than dealing with money. Stephen's extensive exposure to numerous organizational changes led him to quickly learn that addressing staff and management issues swiftly, efficiently and fairly was paramount to leading a successful and harmonious team. Subsequently, Stephen was fortunate to find a 3-year appointment at an established consultancy that offered him an opportunity to hone everything he had learned to date. During his tenure, Stephen partnered with a broad mix of British and international clients, whom each gave him an insight into a spectrum of problems that occur in their respective industries. It became clear that irrespective of the nature of their businesses, many companies shared common scenarios which needed professional support. For each and every situation there was a series of steps to follow in order to establish the cause of a problem and implement a variety of proven techniques to bring about a positive result. Reviewing and assessing a deep-rooted employee concern without the necessary experience and adequate tool set will not remedy a challenging situation. But with a well-considered program of Mediation, Authentic Leadership and Modernizing of HR policies, as well as some essential guidance on how best to apply it, there will be a solution. This week Declassify has invited a familiar voice from ABC Classic FM onto the episode – Stephen Adams. Stephen is a beloved voice on the radio waves having worked with ABC Classic FM since 2004. He has been instrumental in programming, commissioning and broadcasting Australian music and new music. He is also an inexhaustible composer and performer with a recently released album, who aside from all this work, also runs his own podcast ‘New Waves,’ This episode’s conversation revolves around the nuances of media and institutional responsibilities relating to programming. How can statistically gradual progress in broadening programming choices – from radio production through to concert halls – chance what audiences wish to or would like to engage with? Is there room for and a desire for more diverse voices and new music on a wider platform within the classical music industry? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Stephen Adamshttps://www.australianmusiccentre.com.au/artist/adams-stephenhttps://www.abc.net.au/classic/stephen-adams/8168144 The New Waves Podcast: https://www.abc.net.au/classic/programs/new-waves/#:~:text=with%20Stephen%20Adams&text=For%20listeners%20interested%20in%20Australian,RSS%20and%20other%20podcast%20apps.Adams, Stephens. 2020. Welcome back everyone for episode 20 of the za podcast. Our guest today is one of the best drivers in the country and has been for several years now. He’s one of the first people I reached out to when I started this podcast and I’m glad we finally get the chance to hear and share is story. Few drivers, tire guys or engine builders will ever get the opportunity to race karts for a living. A lot of listeners remember the days when the only way to be full time was to build mothers or chassis. As the sport has evolved Into larger pay days and grown in popularity so have the opportunities within the sport. Lil Donkey as he’s known on the southern money circuit has turned doing tires and driving at the highest level into a full time gig. I e watched Him grow as a person and a driver over the past 15 or so years to be near or at the top of the list for long time karters as someone you would want to start a team behind. He’s picked up several career defining wins in a sport where most would be happywinning one. We explore his humble beginnings at Johnston County to being factory pilot for some of the best karting companies and teams in the country and having the coolest tshirt n karting. You might not think he’s the goat.... but he’s definitely the undisputed Donkey in karting. As you’ll hear him elaborate on in this episode... it hasnt always been easy..... but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Ladies and gentlemen.... without any further adu.... my friend Mr Stephen “Lil donkey” Adams.

Knopf, 2018). Today based on the advice of Stephen Adams we tackle chapters three, four and five. The chapters are titled, “Apple Envy”, “Goodbye East Paly” and “Childhood Neighbors.” The chapters we cover this week paint a picture of a toxic culture full of deceit, naiveté, and vindictiveness; this will be a blockbuster movie someday. While Theranos sounds extraordinary, it isn’t hard to find similar corporate train wrecks. Bad Blood needs to be read as a cautionary tale. SPaMCAST 517 is very different from my original plan -- and pretty cool if I do say so my self. This week I spoke at ISMA 16 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was originally scheduled to open the session, however, the translators were two hours late. The Portuguese speaking speakers were moved earlier so that the conference could get started. During my wait, I discovered that I could record sessions on my iPhone, therefore, the SPaMCAST 517 is a recording of my talk, titled Product Owners In Agile – The Really Hard Role! If you would like a copy of the slides please email me at SPaMCASTinfo@gmail.com . Note: There is a bit of noise in the audio, shirt pockets might not be the best recording platforms. Re-Read Saturday NewsToday we continue our journey through Bad Blood, Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou (published by Alfred A. Knopf, 2018). Today we tackle chapters one and two. They are titled, “A Purposeful Life” and “Gluebot.” I have not changed the estimate of 20 to 25 weeks, however, Stephen Adams has thrown down the gauntlet by suggesting we can do more than two chapters a week. ITMPI Webinar Virtual October 31 Register Now: https://bit.ly/2zo8MAV Webinar: Agile, Where Agile Fears to Tread Next SPaMCASTSPaMCAST 518 will feature our interview with Rebecca Staton-Reinstein. We talk leadership and the difference between a leader and a manager. You need both!
SPaMCAST 515 features our essay on transformation and agile metrics. Whether you like the word transformation or not, many in the process improvement and agile communities help to facilitate change. Involvement in any non-trivial change effort requires resources, people, support and the expenditure of political capital. Metrics are tools for getting the people and resources you need. We also feature a visit from the Software Sensi. Mr. Pries weights in on defining “what is quality”. Kim mixes theory and practice to make a profound statement. Anchoring the cast this week is Gene Hughson. Gene writes at the Form Follows Function blog. This week we talk about a piece titled, Dependency Management – Anti-Patterns as Art from The Daily WTF. It really is art -- but really a visualization of anti-patterns at the same time. Re-Read Saturday News This week we conclude our re-read of The Checklist Manifesto with a few final thoughts and notes and a restatement of a checklist for a checklist that Stephen Adams contributed in the comments for Chapter 9 – they deserve more exposure. This is an excellent book that is very useful for anyone involved in worrying about whether work is done consistently. My punchline, “try using a checklist because they make sure our actions matter.” I hope you enjoy the book as much as I do. Next week we will lay out the plan for our read of Bad Blood (buy your copy today https://amzn.to/2zTEgPq and support the blog and the author). Bad Blood is a new book for me, therefore a “read” rather than a re-read.
