Devon is a father, musician, and one of my favorite voices of collective liberation. At a moment in time where the divide and conquer method of the oppressor seems to be at an all-time high, Devon's analysis on the need for moral consistency through all our various struggles is incredibly important. We talk about what it means to be living in a propagandized country and having empathy for those who are still asleep. Devon talks through the difference between performative “activism” versus truly challenging systems, and how this work starts with the minority laying the ground work for the majority. Devon reminds us that collective liberation means that everyone and society as a whole will be better off, and that this work comes from a genuine love for humanity. Devon's IG Leah's IG

Keep On Trucking' was an iconic underground cartoon created in 1968 by comic master Robert Crumb. Featuring various big-footed men strutting jauntily through life, the caricature became widely popular as an expression of young people's collective optimism. “You're movin' on down the line,” Crumb later explained, “It's proletarian. It's populist.” But today the phrase has become ironic, for America's truck drivers themselves are no longer moving on down the line of fairness, justice, and opportunity. What had been a skilled, middle-class job in the 1960s is now largely a skilled poverty-wage job, thanks to the industry's relentless push for deregulation and deunionization, decoupling drivers from upward mobility. Trucking has been turned into a corporate racket, with CEOs arbitrarily abusing the workers who move their products across town and country. To enable the abuse, corporate lawyers have fabricated a legal dodge, letting shippers claim that their truck drivers are not their employees, but “independent contractors.” Thus – Hocus Pocus! – drivers don't get decent wages, overtime pay, workers comp, Social Security, health care, rest breaks, reimbursement for truck expenses (including gasoline, tires, repairs, and insurance) … and, as “contractors,” drivers are not allowed to unionize. This rank rip-off has become the industry standard, practiced by multibillion-dollar shipping giants like XPO, FedEx, Penske, and Amazon. The National Employment Law Project recently reported that two-thirds of truckers hauling goods from US ports are intentionally misclassified as contractors, rather than as employees of the profiteers that hire, direct, set pay levels, and fire them. Of course, corporate bosses try to hide their greed with a thin legalistic fig leaf – “We believe our [drivers] classifications are legal,” sniffed an XPO executive. Sure they are, sport, since your lobbyists write the laws! But might doesn't make right, “legal” doesn't mean moral, and “boss” spelled backwards is double-S.O.B.

Steve's guest is Dr. Ruchira Sen who got her PhD at UMKC where she studied with a number of friends of this podcast. Herresearch areas are in feminist economics, informed by institutional economics, MMT, and Marxian economics. She describes an economy built on the backs of women, that exists outside the normal parameters of capitalism while making it possible for capitalism to thrive. We've had neoliberal reforms since the 1990s, which has meant a gradual withdrawal of the state from almost everything. And that has specifically impacted the lives of women. Because when the state withdraws from providing you basic services like water, electricity, then it's usually the women who become additionally burdened... The participation of women in the (paid) labor force is declining, their contribution to unpaid work is phenomenal. In a country as massive as India, with a population of around a billion, any change in government policy can have far-reaching and unexpected consequences. Ruchira describes the effects of the 2016 demonetization action, in which two currency notes – of the most widely used denominations – were taken out of circulation. Among a population where the majority of individual financial transactions are conducted in cash and many don't have bank accounts, this “decashification” caused widespread suffering for the poor and working class. Steve asks Ruchira what drives poverty in India and she talks about British colonial policy and the deindustrialization of the Ganges plain. Poverty is essentially a result of the pushing of capitalist relations onto our population. Not to say that there was no hunger before but the colonial power imposed selective tariff policies on Indian textiles... They pretty much decimated the artisan population in the Gangetic Plains and destroyed much of local industry. That resulted in large bodies of people who were dispossessed. They had nothing but their labor and they became the proletariat. I think it's pretty fundamental to how colonialism works because you need general labor-ready bodies to do the work, to produce the exports that your home country needs, to produce the wealth that your home country will drain away. Ruchira talks about the pervasive threat of violence against women in India, and what she calls a watershed moment – the Nirbhaya Incident and anti-rape agitation. She talks about the left, including some active communist parties that have had successes but have also made questionable choices on occasion. And she talks about India's lack of energy and food independence. Dr. Ruchira Sen is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Jindal School of Journalism and Communication at O.P. Jindal Global University in India. She teaches macroeconomics, data analysis for storytelling, and data journalism. Her PhD in economics is from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ruchira is primarily concerned with low paid and unpaid labor in various fields from housework and marriage to the media. She has written on dowry as a gift system in South Asia and how it relates to violence, and on international networks of care and how they impact the USA. Her recent research is on mediated activism in India. Ruchira is primarily informed by an international post-colonial feminist view of the world by MMT and Marxism. @RuchiraSen67 on Twitter

[00:30] Agitating for Violence (34 minutes) Joe Biden fanned the flames of hate during a speech yesterday in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Politicians like Biden routinely pick and choose events to stoke racial division in America. This is what racial Marxism looks like, and it’s only getting worse under Biden. Like Barack Obama said in a recent interview, Biden is there to “finish the job” Obama had started. [34:30] Made in God’s Image (20 minutes) What is the source of racial tension? Mankind has struggled with things like racism for millennia. The only way to understand and solve these problems is to learn what God teaches about the history of man and why He created human beings.
“Outrageous,” screeched the US Chamber of Commerce. “It doesn’t feel fair,” whimpered a top corporate executive. The wailing by those who run corporate America is not for the plight of the workaday families who’ve seen their incomes stagnate and even plummet to zero during the past months of the coronavirus pandemic. Rather, this chorus of woe comes from powerful plutocratic interests that have been enjoying windfall profits. Why? Because, they cry, that meanie in the White House, Joe Biden, intends to jack up their corporate tax rate. But wait didn’t Trump and the GOP Congress slash the corporate share of our nation’s upkeep nearly in half just four years ago, shifting the burden to the middle class and poor? Yes. And didn’t they promise that those cuts would create millions of new jobs? Yes, again – yet corporations got richer and working stiffs got shafted. Still, here they come again, howling that raising corporate taxes would crash the stock market. Well, the day Biden announced his plan, stock prices did fall… by less than 1 percent. The next day, they bounced right back, and they’re still booming. Moreover, those are crocodile tears the rich are shedding, for they know that – as Biden himself makes clear – his proposed uptick in their tax share “is not going to affect their standard of living at all. Not a little tiny bit.” They’ll still have their two or three big houses, private jets, and yachts. But, with them paying just a bit more toward the Common Good, our country will be able to reinvest in society’s physical and human infrastructure, making America stronger and fairer for all. That’s why there is broad and deep public majorities – even among Republicans – for Biden’s infrastructure plan and the taxes to pay for it. For more information go to AmericansForTaxFairness.org.

“Those in the know” say that We the People should forget any progressive fantasy that – at long last – Washington might finally produce the kind of bold FDR-style agenda that America needs. They smugly lecture us that recalcitrant Republicans in Congress, not to mention a swarm of corporate lobbyists, are opposed to progressive change, so who could get it passed? Here’s an idea: Try the people themselves. Those in the know don’t seem to know it (or don’t want us to know it), but big majorities across grassroots America are strongly in favor of the fundamental changes that Washington elites are rejecting. For example: Two-thirds of America (including a majority of moderate Republicans) say “Yes!” to doubling the minimum wage. 72 percent of the people, including 46 percent of professed Republicans, shout their approval for Medicare for all. Eight out of 10 Americans, including strong majorities of Republicans, support a paid family leave program like every other developed nation provides for their people. What about increasing taxes on the rich, expanding Medicaid for poor families, raising teacher pay, spending more for early childhood education? Yes, yes, yes, yes say majorities, not just in blue states, but also in GOP strongholds like Idaho, Nebraska, and Utah. These are not just poll numbers, but solid ideas embraced last year by a broad cross-section of voters in ballot elections across the country. For example, Florida voters enacted a constitutional initiative to up the state’s minimum pay to $15, with “yeas” topping “nays” by a whopping margin of more than 20 points – making it more popular than either Trump or Biden. Instead of fearing the people, Democratic leaders need to get out of Washington and join them. Let’s rally and organize the power of outsiders to produce transformative policies of, by, and for the people.
Here is the typed Prayer/Invocation: http://mp32.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/Prayer.pdf The original Prayer Recording from Giving Voice to the wisdom of the ages on Youtube: https://youtu.be/sjqVfLqa024 https://higherjourneys.com/vocal-toning-strikes-a-key-for-health/ HEALING VOWEL SOUNDS Vowel – Area of Body Opened by its Sounding U – Pelvis, hips, legs, feet, and lower body in general. O – Lower trunk, abdomen area from solar plexus to groin. A – Chest cavity, heart, and the body as a whole. E – Throat, upper chest, and head regions. Back of the skull and head regions. If with the aid of our thoughts and imagination we can suffuse our whole body with the vowel sounds, we can restore balance and life to all aspects of it. We can use the vowel sounds as an alternative to music in balancing and stimulating the chakras. Many people excuse themselves from the process of healing through sound, music, or voice by saying they can't play a musical instrument, they can't sing, they can't get to the library to borrow music in the appropriate key, they can't afford a five dollar pitch pipe, they don't know the song “Do, a deer…” or any number of reasons. If they have the capability of TELLING me why they can't employ music and sound techniques for healing, I've still got them. If they can speak, they can balance themselves. Breath is important to the process of toning. Breath refers to that quick intake or gasp of energy that carries an image or thought to the subconscious. All aspects of toning are related to breath. Breath is life. When we become aware of our breathing patterns, we have greater control over them. As we work with toning and become more balanced, our breathing becomes more fluid, healthy, and harmonious. HOW TO TONE The purpose of toning is to restore the vibrational pattern of the body (physical and subtle) to its perfect electro-magnetic field so that our spiritual essence can manifest more fully in our physical environment. Voice belongs to the physical body, but it is the instrument of the spiritual self. Being more than body, we need to learn to use it as a tool for higher consciousness and greater health. Experiment with the toning process. Take the primary vowel sound from your name. Close your eyes and tone the sound slowly. Allow it to find its own volume and length of sound. Initially, don't try and hold it to a particular pitch. Repeat for five to ten minutes. Within this time, it will find its own natural pitch. After a week of this, you will naturally tone the most harmonious pitch. This is effective in helping to develop greater resonance within your own voice. Toning this sound ten to twelve times is balancing to the body and calming to the mind. Work with all of the vowel sounds. Start with the base chakra and tone each sound five to ten times, moving up through each chakra center. Use a pitch pipe and experiment with different pitches for the different vowel sounds. Pay attention to areas in which you have difficulty with the tone or at those points where the voice breaks, cracks or fluctuates. The toning process can be used to heal yourself and to increase self-awareness. As with all healing, relaxation is critical, but the unique aspect of sacred sound is that relaxation occurs as a natural part of the process. You cannot use healing sounds without relieving stress. Pay attention to yourself as you tone. Can you feel the sound in a particular part of the body? What is the effect? Is it comfortable? Agitating? energizing? Determine the feeling as best you can. Do not be discouraged if you can't label it. Toning is a learning process as much as it is a healing process. As you notice the part of the body most strongly affected, think about the chakra associated with that part of the body. As you tone, visualize the chakra growing brighter, stronger and more balanced. What kind of energy does this stir? Is it calming? Firing? Does it draw you into harmony? Does it heal? As we begin to understand how the toning process affects you personally, you will have a better idea of how to apply it to others. Experiment with the dynamics. Use different tones with different vowels. What happens when you soften the tones? What happens when you sing it louder? Play with the rhythms of it. Hold the tone for longer intervals and for shorter intervals. Pulse the tones. Mix the short and long tones. Have fun with the process. She was passionate and driven, aiming for perfection, obsessed with drama and addicted to adrenaline. Courtney teetered on the brink of burnout for many years, until her body finally gave in. In her quest to heal herself, Courtney found Ayurveda. She began to understand that the chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin and digestive issues were simply signals her body was sending her. Courtney started to see that her obsession with living life according to external concepts of perfection, success, and beauty were driving her to ignore those signals. As she shifted her diet and lifestyle, she felt an immediate impact. Her digestion dramatically improved and her skin cleared up within weeks. Today, Courtney works to empower you with the tools and wisdom to heal yourself, just like she did, and to thrive, just like you were born to do.

India's farmers who have vowed to carry on with their agitation for as long as it takes the Centre to scrap all the three farm laws gave a nationwide shutdown call on 8 December, Tuesday, a day before the sixth round of talks between the farmer leaders and the ruling party. While the whole protest has been spearheaded by farm unions and farmer organisations, several Opposition parties from across India also joined in to lend their support. Early in the day the Aam Aadmi Party even alleged that the Delhi Police had placed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest since his visit to the Singhu border a day before, although the Delhi police denied doing so. And by no means was this protest limited to Delhi, several BJP and non-BJP ruled states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu also saw similar demonstrations of blocking roads and rails by farmer organisations. What kind of response did the call for Bharat Bandh evoke in different parts of India? After weeks of continuous protests, what do farmers have to say? What is delaying the resolution between the Centre and farmers? READ THIS KANSAS CITY STAR UPDATE Thank you to everyone who attended and/or support the Right to Rights Rally in Stockton Missouri this past weekend. We will be uploading the rally in it's entirety shortly after the video feed is uploaded to the (anti) COH & Agape YouTube Channel. This episode includes both a BREAKING update on Circle of Hope as well as some BREAKING NEWS on Agape Baptist Boarding School & Ranch for Boys as reported by the Kansas City Star. If you have not yet caught up on the series that Star has been doing regarding multiple Lester Roloff / IFB "Troubled Teen Industry" behavior modification centers, deep dive and catch up. Agape's official response is included in this episode and they're correctly predict that Judy Thomas and the Kansas City Star are the next in line to join the lineage of investigative journalists who have secured Pulitzers for their part in exposing and closing abusive programs. How did the parents of the Agape boys not hear that as a cause for concern? Agape misquoted an ex-staff and Pastor, James Clidence, who will correct the attempt to discredit him himself in this episode. Head over to Preacher Boys Podcast for an upcoming full episode between the Good Pastor and Eric. Agape also attempted to bully trigger the "bitter boys" on the frontlines, forgetting that they're now men. Men who recognize plebian manipulations and refuse to be triggered by petty Troglodytes. Those men will respond for themselves. We are humbled to be a conduit and platform to project the voices of our brave Brothers who walk in the confidence that their Truth will not only serve the Self, but set multitudes of "others" free as we march forward. Also, just to tickle a few twinging taints, we've included a two minute moment from Agape's Live Feed last night (11/18/20). While many of us who were raised, reared, trained and trampled by "Toughlove" may not be personally concerned about the lack of basic resources the Othello boys were afforded in this clip - keep in mind that Agape is now federally authorized to receive alien children. So, pretty sure there are standards of care for youth under Federal care. How do ya'll feel about your tax dollars being used to detain these kids in an unlicensed, unregulated, unaccredited Baptist reform ranch that has decades of abuse charges and only relocated to Stockton in order to flee criminal charges in California in the first place. Who really cares about the boys? #iseeyousurvivor Who cares about Rachael Kellso? A woman in her 30s, adopted from the Philipinnes, until her adopted parents abdicated responsibility by paying for the abuse of the 7 siblings in Agape, COH and other Agape spawned programs until they aged out. However, Rachael was legally committed into the custody of Boyd Househoulder and spent over 13 years at COH until she was "removed so that we couldn't use her against them". Now she is missing and even her biological sister and her attorneys cannot find her. Won't anyone ask #whereisrachaelkellso?? Loyal, open, non-judgemental and not scared to call you on your bullshit when (and if) required. Nathan is family-centric, diligent in all that he does, both in the surf, or just at life in general. How nasty is the Republican Party’s massive campaign to thwart democracy? Ask the good people of Florida. This was one of only three states that permanently took away the voting rights of felons – who’d completed their punishment. In 2018, though, a whopping 65 percent of Floridians voted for a state constitutional amendment that finally struck this malicious bit of legal ugliness from the books, thus restoring the political personhood of about a million people who’d served their time. But, led by Ron DeSantis, Florida’s right-wing goose of a governor, the GOP demanded that an appeals court of hyper-partisan federal judges overrule 2018’s landmark vote by the people and slam the door once more on the rights of discharged felons. They’re not entitled to vote, squawked these vindictive ballot suppressors, unless and until they’ve paid off the full amount of court costs and fees they were assessed. Money, asserted Republican leaders, must trump social justice, human decency, and political rights for these mostly indigent people who’re unable to pony up a thousand bucks or so. Even if ex-felons are regularly making payments to clear the debt – tough luck say the Republican repressors, no vote until every penny is paid. It’s a flagrant case of rigging the system to steal the votes of a low-income constituency generally inclined to support Democratic policies and candidates. It also amounts to an unconstitutional poll tax, made more intolerable by applying it to one class of citizens (largely people of color) specifically to disenfranchise them. The court’s six-judge Republican majority (five appointed by Trump) cynically defied the US Constitution and the Florida electorate just weeks before November’s presidential election, effectively incarcerating some 774,000 potential voters in a partisan debtor’s prison. Yet, the people’s battle for justice goes on – to say connected, go to Florida Rights Restoration Coalition: FloridaRRC.com.
Rev Uma Ukpai, has said those agitating for realization of Biafra are ‘mad people'.Speaking to reporters in Uyo, headquarters of his ministry, the prominent cleric condemned agitations for Biafra by the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).He said anyone agitating for Biafra only confirms the level of his or her madness, He intonated that everybody is mad, the difference only being in the level of madness.“There will always be crazy people, even when people are seen to be normal. Whoever is agitating for Biafra shows the level of his madness, but everybody is mad, the difference is the level of your madness,” he said.He also said he is disappointed there are still divisive elements holding the country apart.According to him until Nigerians begin to love and respect another, it would not make any meaningful progress.“In Nigeria we are all in a hurry to reach where are going to, so much so that we have no regards for others, no time for others and no love for others.“As a nation until we love one another, we cannot notice one another, only when we love that which we have, that we can develop. But in Nigeria, we don't care whether others eat or not.If we have no respect for one another, it also mean we don't care whether others exist or not,” the cleric lamented.Answering to contest for restructuring by General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and the controversies it generated, Ukpai said: “I don't think that he (Adeboye) is not entitled to his opinion.“He is a man of God and he must have seen what happened during the civil war, which would guide him in the deductions he made. But to me, everybody is entitled to his op
Remember when we said that we’ve got podcast specials for you? Today we’ve got a really special one. Last year, Team Hightower started work on a podcast series called “The South’s Got Somethin’ to Say.” We took a road trip to capture some of the fantastic stories of progressive organizing happening the southern US. We spoke with dozens of amazing activists, and we were loving the work– and then, the pandemic hit. This show is from our visit in North Carolina; it was going to be the kick-off episode for the series. We love it so much that we want to get it out there, even without clear plans for the rest of the series. The “deep canvassing” work of Down Home North Carolina is so relevant to this political moment, we’re pretty sure you’ll love it, too. Let us know what you think! Agitation and Integration: two often closely related but very different types of propagandas: one used to provoke internal conflict the other to shape members of a population into a mold. Agitation: The propaganda of insurgency and revolution. Includes how internal enemies are used as scapegoats to manufacture then exploit hatreds as means to an insurgent's end, Mao's view on "the enemy residing in every man" and fitting him into the "Socialist Mold", Hitler's internal agitation, spontaneous volunteer propagandists, and how facts and "truth" are irrelevant to the person burning with primal hatred. ALSO: Agitation propaganda during the American Revolution Triggering revolution by provoking hate? It's easy! Exploiting hatred and the path to genocide Hatred: small investment, high return Agitation and Integration can be used simultaneously Utopia is totalitarian Intellectuals: More susceptible to integration propaganda than dolts Intellectuals and self-bigotry "Can I hate you?" Justification, rationalization and stampeding enraged elephants Agitation to Integration: extremely difficult Successful Agitation + Failed Integration = Mob Rule Winter Is Here Yep. It's a doozy. “Boxing is a good example of getting eyes on you. Agitating the crowd and the emotions, and being willing to not be liked in the beginning.”As Chris “Bulldog” Collins tells us this week, you have to have the confidence to agitate your target market, and their emotions, by embracing your dark side. And you may not be liked in the beginning — but this will play right into your hand. Look, you may hate the guy in the Oval Office, but here’s the thing: Only one of the candidates really embraced their dark side. “It made a guy president, didn’t it,” says BigMike of embracing the darkness within. So far on Business Outlaws, we’ve taught you how to take a stand, divide and conquer your audience, and tell your story. In the fourth installment of the Business Outlaws series on building your personal brand, we’re going to show you how to embrace your dark side and why it’s so effective. Once you learn what your dark side is and how to lean in, you’ll be free to explore and express what you truly feel. You’ll draw your audience in with a more compelling, engaging and honest image of your brand that will prompt them to find out more. Some of those people will spit venom, while others will march behind your banner. But know this: Your dark side is who you really are. Fighting it will only hold you back from success — and from truly knowing yourself. Tune in to Ep. 55 of Business Outlaws to learn how embracing your dark side makes you more interesting, believable and powerful, and hear us work with the audience to help them embrace their own dark side so that they’re in a strong position to generate insane profits. When you’re done listening, head on over to BusinessOutlaws.com to check out the rest of the series on building your personal brand, and to also get access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Kevin sits down with Samuel Goldberg, the producer of the film Silo, Dennis Hildebrandt VP of Turtle Plastics and Liz Demetriou President of Turtle Plastics. They discuss the prevalence of silos within the farming culture, silo accidents, training, and what can be done to reduce these disasters. Silo is a film about the danger of grain entrapment. Grain entrapment occurs when a person standing on a pile of grain becomes submerged. Most often grain entrapment occurs in silos. The grain in these silos can sometimes clump up and create a structure that supports the grain above it. When the grain is drained the clumpy structure becomes a bridge at the top of the silo, leaving an empty space in the core. When a worker disrupts this structure, it collapses. This sudden change can pull a person down surrounding them by grain. It might not seem like much but being submerged in grain is incredibly dangerous. The weight and impact of the grain can be lethal. If a person survives the initial impact, they will immediately begin to suffocate. Most workplace accidents in the U.S have been on a decline except for grain-entrapments, which had an annual high as recently at 2010. Alarmingly most grain-entrapment deaths are by minors. Most silos are found on farms in rural areas, which makes it difficult for experienced rescuers to arrive on time. When rescuers arrive, they need to be cautious about making the situation worse. Agitating the grains could cause the trapped person to sink further down. A person that is only partly submerged is still at risk of spinal injury from being pulled out. The best way to lower the danger of grain entrapment is to prevent it from ever happening. Grain typically clumps up when it is spoiled, simply reducing spoilage will decrease the chance of grain entrapment. The other strategy is to create stricter policies when workers break up these clumps and requiring the rescue equipment to be nearby. To find out more about Silo visit https://silothefilm.com.

A continuation on our series on the beatitudes:Blessed are the meek, and Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Aren't these in contradiction? Which is it- are we to be meek and patient and gentle in the face of a world that has hurt us and will probably do so again, or are we to be honest about our dissatisfaction with so many things? Don't tell me the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Ok! It doesn't. It lies in being both to the utmost. That's where we can encounter the joy and full aliveness that comes from God knows where.Blessed are the meek: for they will inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they will be filled. (5:6)

Today we interview Dane Laverty -- founder of the"Agitating Faithfully" web site. Agitating Faithfully is a site supporting gender equality in the church. It was inspired by President Gordon B. Hinckley's answer to the question,"At present women are not allowed to be priests in your Church...Is it possible that the rules could change in the future..?" He responded,"Yes. But there's no agitation for that. We don't find it."
