She is the 2022 Armed Forces Insurance Army Spouse of the Year, a huge advocate for military families, and on a mission to ease the burden of food insecurity and shine a light on undernourishment of military families. During this holiday season, it can be tempting to fixate on how far we are away from family, or that we don't get to spend a holiday with our loved ones. But when we stay focused on the negative, it leads us down the spiral of comparison, frustration, and discontentment with life. We have the opportunity and the ability to reframe our thoughts and to change our lives simply by starting with gratitude. Gratitude helps us embrace life. It allows us to become more resilient and to thrive as military spouse. It helps us get unstuck and craft a life with purpose. Crafting a life with purpose doesn't necessarily mean doing something noteworthy or showy. It doesn't necessarily involve starting a business, obtaining a certain degree or title, or speaking to large groups of people. It means that we approach each day with intentionality and choose to make today matter. One way we can do that is just by spreading intentional acts of kindness. Today's episode is going to focus on one organization that does just that. Ready to learn more? Then let's dive in. Stephanie welcomes Megan B. Brown, founder and executive director of MilSpo Co (Military Spouse Coalition), a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing Christ with the military communities worldwide. Megan shares her own story, her heart, and passion for building the Kingdom of God in original, powerful ways. This conversation will stretch, inspire, and challenge you! Megan says, "MilSpo Co. is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory." MilSpo Co. began with a commitment to see military spouses gain access points to the gospel through getting connected, building a faith community, and to develop the skill of walking out their faith as they moved from place to place. Nearly a decade ago, a handful of military spouses began gathering around the Word of God in a military housing neighborhood. Their goal was simple: to know God and learn how to make Him known. The result was immense. These women were learning how to create friendships, building relationships inside of their local church, and starting to see how God would use their lifestyles to serve Him as missionaries. MilSpo Co.'s Founder, Megan Brown, began leading small and intimate Bible studies from her living room. What began with six women at Keesler AFB on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi has now become a ground movement. Women all over the globe are now meeting in homes, serving inside of the church, and using their gifts for the glory of God. The next step in mission for MilSpo Co. is to continue to raise up leaders in the military spouse space. By raising up indigenous leaders in the military spouse community who are directly connected to the local church, women in this space can lead others into meaningful connections, biblical community in the family of God, and facilitate their discipleship toward the task of fulfilling the Great Commission. ABOUT MILSPOCO Megan is a seasoned military spouse, mother of four, and military missionary. Graduating from Moody Bible Institute with a Bachelor's of Science in Ministry Leadership with a focus in Ministry to Women, she is passionate about leading women to pursue fulfilling The Great Commission. MilSpo Co. exists to intentionally disciple the U.S. Armed Forces through recruiting, raising up, and releasing an army of military spouses as paid and prepared vocational missionaries. These women are sent in partnership with the local church, collaborate with civilian communities for evangelism, and are ready to serve God at operational military installations worldwide. A lot of military spouses don't love moving. But most military spouses don't move EVERY year. And a lot of military families never even attempt to move themselves - also known as a do-it-yourself (DITY) or Personally Procured Move (PPM). Yep, she's done it while pregnant, with newborns, and with her husband deployed. On episode one I introduce myself a little bit and then dive into the main topic of decluttering before a PCS. I talk about the Marie Kondo method and how I like to declutter room by room when it comes to PCSing. Start with the easiest room ..... the bathroom and continue from there. I also talk about certain items that can and cannot be moved, storing stuff when it comes to PCS, and getting rid of stuff now so you can be excited when you unpack your boxes on the other end!!! Use this website https://move.mil/entitlements to find out how much weight you are allowed to move with the military. Type in the rank of the service member, if you having dependents, and if you are moving CONUS or OCONUS and it will tell you in pounds how much weight you are allowed. As I mentioned in the intro here is my online shop: littlesloth.comand blog: http://thelittlesloth.blogspot.com

Born into a military family, Wendy Stewart has lived across the globe but chose to settle down in Rock county to live and raise a family. She has been a resident of Rock county for 20 years and is involved in the community, attending local events like the Dairy Breakfast and the Rock county fair every year. She is passionate about veterans issues and has helped organize as well as participated in events around the community to benefit veterans. Last June, Wendy applied to be considered for the position of Rock County Clerk. Although being highly qualified and placing 2nd on the list of possible candidates, an understandably more qualified candidate with several years of clerk experience was appointed to that position. This did not deter Wendy and she became even more determined to become involved in her community through public service. This led to her decision to run for Rock County Treasurer.Wendy Stewart's educational background is highly suited for the Treasurer's office. She holds a double major from UW-Madison in mathematics and economics, and is currently attending UW-Whitewater to qualify to sit for the CPA exam. Her current and previous employment history includes logistics and inventory control analysis, cost analysis, and regulatory compliance in the food industry. Wendy is the mother of two children, Grace Stewart (20) and Jacob Stewart (14). Grace is attending UW-Madison and is a former Cullen intern, and Jacob will start high school at Parker in the fall. She is quite proud of both her children and their accomplishments. Wendy is a fiscal conservative and applies that to her lifestyle by doing her own car and home repairs as a hobby.
