Tariff authority by second-term Republican President Donald Trump was not decided by the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday, meaning the federal government can continue to collect the revenue for now. The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react. Interviewer: So what happened next? How was the main attack? Security Guard: After those drones appeared, some helicopters arrived, but there were very few. I think barely eight helicopters. From those helicopters, soldiers came down, but a very small number. Maybe twenty men. But those men were technologically very advanced. They didn’t look like anything we’ve fought against before. Interviewer: And then the battle began? Security Guard: Yes, but it was a massacre. We were hundreds, but we had no chance. They were shooting with such precision and speed… it seemed like each soldier was firing 300 rounds per minute. We couldn’t do anything. Interviewer: And your own weapons? Didn’t they help? Security Guard: No help at all. Because it wasn’t just the weapons. At one point, they launched something—I don’t know how to describe it… it was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move. Interviewer: And your comrades? Did they manage to resist? Security Guard: No, not at all. Those twenty men, without a single casualty, killed hundreds of us. We had no way to compete with their technology, with their weapons. I swear, I’ve never seen anything like it. We couldn’t even stand up after that sonic weapon or whatever it was. Interviewer: So do you think the rest of the region should think twice before confronting the Americans? Security Guard: Without a doubt. I’m sending a warning to anyone who thinks they can fight the United States. They have no idea what they’re capable of. After what I saw, I never want to be on the other side of that again. They’re not to be messed with. Interviewer: And now that Trump has said Mexico is on the list, do you think the situation will change in Latin America? Security Guard: Definitely. Everyone is already talking about this. No one wants to go through what we went through. Now everyone thinks twice. What happened here is going to change a lot of things, not just in Venezuela but throughout the region. https://twitter.com/WarClandestine/status/2010081288804499739?s=20 Trump To Meet Venezuelan Opposition Leader María Corina Machado Next Week President Trump plans to meet with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado next week during her planned visit to the United States. This development comes despite his earlier reluctance to back her for the country’s top leadership role. Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity in a taped interview that aired Thursday night that he understands Machado is “coming in next week sometime” and looks forward to saying hello to her. You don’t have any logical reason to oppose it, except you hate that your era of dependence on US taxpayers is finally ending. So all you can do is appeal to emotions and invent a war out of thin cloth. War/Peace Russia Strikes Back Using Hypersonic Missiles Against Kiev Following Drone Attack on Putin's Residence Someone launched the drones from Ukraine and targeted them at Putin's residence to send a message. There is considerable debate online about it, but if President Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy are speaking truthfully, the most likely suspect who launched the drones was British intelligence inside Ukraine. Then again, if the CIA was factually involved, everyone would have to deny it. In retaliation for the December 29th attack, yesterday Russia fired a hypersonic Oreshnik missile and counterattack drones directly into the heart of Kiev, Ukraine. The use of the Oreshnik missile comes just hours after Russian President Putin asserted publicly that Ukraine, Europe and NATO have no defenses against the hypersonics. President Zelenskyy said the Russian attack involved 242 drones, 13 ballistic missiles, one Oreshnik missile and 22 cruise missiles. However, as with all things Zelenskyy, this dramatic claim seems to be slightly exaggerated. Russia claims they targeted key electricity infrastructure as well as the production facilities for building drones in Kiev which are collocated in residential areas. His “trilogy” strategy is a purposeful plan, to remove the cabal control over our national security, by investing in new companies that are focused on advanced technologies for our military. The military industrial complex is being FORCED to compete with these new companies aligned with Trump. Which companies? 1) Palantir > expertise in data intelligence. 2) Anduril > autonomous weapons systems. 3) General Matter > next generation energy infrastructure. These three companies are the tip of the spear, when it comes to future warfare. Trump is funding their technological advancements and they are playing critical roles in our defense and the country's future. It's not a coincidence that Trump has recently criticized the big defense contractors. “Ah, the military industrial complex (MIC), that great behemoth blob that eats your tax dollars as a fat kid eats fried foods. Trump announced Wednesday that he plans to trim some of its fat and crack down on a notorious practice among defense companies: stock buybacks.” “Trump on the defense contractors focusing on Wall Street instead of production: “Defense contractors are currently issuing dividends and massive stock buybacks, at the expense of investing in plants and equipment. This will no longer be allowed or tolerated!” “All United State Defense Contractors, and the Defense Industry as a whole, BEWARE: While we make the best Military Equipment in the World (No other Country is even close!), Defense Contractors are currently issuing massive Dividends to their Shareholders and massive Stock Buybacks, at the expense and detriment of investing in Plants and Equipment,” Trump said. “From this moment forward, these Executives must build NEW and MODERN Production Plants, both for delivering and maintaining this important Equipment, and for building the latest Models of future Military Equipment,” the president went on. “Until they do so, no Executive should be allowed to make in excess of $5 Million Dollars which, as high as it sounds, is a mere fraction of what they are making now.” A stock buyback is when a company uses its own cash to buy its own shares on the public market to reduce the total number of shares and juice the shares' value.” https://dailycaller.com/2026/01/09/donald-trump-defense-contractors-military-stock-buybacks-dividends-tax-dollars-ceo-salaries/ This has been a huge scam on Wall Street for a long time. A company uses their cash or debt in order to buy back their own companies stock, which drives up the price. Their bonus and salary are based on that stock price, not their company's performance or whether or not they are fulfilling their contracts. That crooked scam is ending. They will build plants, hire more workers and complete their obligations on time and on budget or lose government contracts. Trump has the ability as Commander in Chief, to take over these defense contractors because of “national security.” And that leverage will be applied. The Commander in Chief has extraordinary power during WAR and national emergencies. The military industrial complex is now being dismantled. But have you heard what else, Thiel is deeply involved in? Thiel is also helping to transform our financial system too. This transformation is focused on “stablecoins.” It's another trilogy strategy. Thiel is building a comprehensive ecosystem, based on “compliance,” infrastructure, and financial control. Have you heard of these companies? 1) Bullish Exchange > front end trading platform for a “stablecoin” ecosystem. 2) Erebor Digital Bank > backend infrastructure for “stablecoin” transactions. 3) Ubyx > “stablecoin” clearing protocol. Trump is pushing “stablecoins” because of NATIONAL SECURITY. I am a father not a mom. But sums it up pretty well, what was she thinking?I'm a mother, so I'm going to comment right now. I will say this exactly the way a mother thinks it, raw, direct, and without pretending this is complicated.A 37-year-old woman. Three kids. Middle of a work week. The father of those children is dead. She is the parent left. The one job she has above every cause, every protest, every headline, is getting home to her kids. And what is she doing instead? She's out of state (other reports claim she lives there), in the street, in her car, blocking federal agents who are doing their job. Not alone! Her partner is right there filming her like this is some brave little documentary moment. Around them: sirens blaring, people yelling, pure chaos, manufactured chaos, so agents can't do their lawful duty. Her window is down. She hears the orders. She understands the orders. She ignores the orders. Then she puts the car in reverse.Still doesn't comply. Then she puts it in drive, NOT park! She moves forward into the agent. That's not “confusion.”That's not “panic.”That's decision after decision after decision. Now put yourself in the agent's shoes for half a second. A driver is already in an unlawful act! refusing commands in a hostile, chaotic scene, and now that driver uses a vehicle to move toward you. You get a split second. You don't get the luxury of “Maybe she's just stressed.” You have to assume the worst, you have to think of protecting other people like the partner at the window, because if you assume the best and you're wrong, you don't go home or someone else.So the agent fires after she makes an intentional and aggressive move toward him, because he has no idea what her intentions are, and she just demonstrated she's willing to escalate. Now… imagine her three kids. At school. Sitting there like any other day. Not knowing their mother is out playing street-hero games for criminals in the middle of a work week, with the two adults responsible for them! She didn't think about them. She didn't think, “If I get arrested, who picks my babies up?”She didn't think, “If I get hurt, who raises them?”She didn't think, “If I die, they have nobody.”She thought about protecting criminals. She thought about interfering with federal agents. She thought about the camera. She thought about the crowd. She thought about the moment. There is no amount of evidence, money, tears on TV, or news spin that can make this make sense. As a mother: NOTHING about this makes sense. At minimum, she knew her actions could get her arrested. At minimum. And she still chose it. She chose strangers. She chose chaos. She chose lawlessness.Make it make sense, because the only thing I see is three kids who just got abandoned by the only parent they had left, not by accident… but by a series of deliberate choices. https://twitter.com/mattvanswol/status/2010336379721425112?s=20 me. Arrest this man. https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/2010045509776576779?s=20 nice effort in their eyes, but not good enough because we all saw the video. They need SOMETHING where the dead protestors are blameless. They are DESPERATELY seeking an image like the one below. Keep this in mind in the days and weeks ahead. Chicago Police Superintendent Reminds the Public ICE Is Law Enforcement and Has Authority Over Citizens Instagram and other social media posts have spread false claims that ICE agents are not law enforcement, have no authority over citizens, and that citizens or even illegal aliens should resist them. These posts also falsely claim that people are not required to comply with ICE orders, that ICE lacks arrest power without a warrant, or that ICE cannot arrest a citizen. All of this is untrue. These misconceptions are fueling resistance to ICE, including escalating violence and chaos. Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said during a press conference the day after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in self-defense that ICE personnel are sworn law enforcement officers and must be treated as such. Snelling said that when federal agents are boxed in by vehicles, it is reasonable for them to believe they are being ambushed and that the situation could quickly become deadly. “If you box them in with vehicles, it is reasonable for them to believe that they are being ambushed,” he said, adding that officers are justified in using force in self-defense under those conditions. He warned the public not to interfere with law enforcement operations, stressing that boxing in any officer is illegal and dangerous. “You are breaking the law when you do that, and you are putting yourself in danger,” Snelling said. He added that officers are justified in viewing individuals who persistently follow them as potential threats. In this compelling episode of Unleashing Intuition Secrets, Michael Jaco sits down with Erik Holt, an Army combat veteran and respected fire department chief, to share a firsthand account of alleged election irregularities in Colorado — and the profound personal cost of speaking out. Erik explains how citizen complaints led him to review hours of high-definition surveillance footage from a local election. What he says he discovered raised serious concerns about election procedures and compliance, prompting him to report the findings through official and lawful channels. Instead of receiving institutional support, Erik describes facing severe retaliation, including professional removal, legal pressure, and reputational attacks. What began as a civic duty, he explains, became a multi-year fight for his career, freedom, and constitutional rights. The conversation explores the broader implications of whistleblower retaliation, ideological capture of local institutions, and why transparency and accountability are often resisted at the community level. At its core, this episode is about integrity under pressure — and the price paid by those who refuse to stay silent. If you believe in protecting those who speak up, defending the First Amendment, holding public officials accountable, due process and the right to a jury trial, and safeguarding ethical leadership in public service, Erik Holt humbly asks for your support. His case is currently before the courts under Federal Docket 1:23-cv-01798 in the U.S. District Court for Colorado and 10th Circuit Court of Appeals Docket 25-1159. We start the week in Minneapolis where a 37-year-old woman was shot and killed by an ICE officer on Wednesday. Authorities claim the woman attacked officers while they were digging their car out of the snow, but video from the scene and the municipal officials heavily dispute that claim. This week GOP lawmakers from Minnesota testified at a hastily-scheduled House Oversight Committee hearing about welfare fraud scandal allegations in their state. And on Tuesday, the Department of Health and Human Services froze $10 billion in five states including Minnesota, New York, California, Illinois and Colorado. That funding covers childcare subsidies, cash support for low-income families, and other social services.Meanwhile, its been nearly one week since Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were captured by U.S. forces and brought to face charges of narco-terrorism on American soil. And the Trump administration's actions in Venezuela are having ripple effects across the globe. Europe is on edge as the U.S president this week suggested the territory could be in his crosshairs next, raising questions about America's relationship with NATO.Also this week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending U.S. support for global 66 organizations, agencies, and commissions, following his administration's review of participation in and funding for all international organizations.Find more of our programs online. When you picture lace, what comes to mind: an old-fashioned once-white piece of Victorian embellishment? The elegant, possibly itchy decoration on a wedding gown? If you are a needleworker, you might picture an array of bobbins leashed to a cluster of pins and arrayed on a pillow, or a tatting shuttle, or a steel crochet hook. All of these images would be correct—but capture the tiniest slice of the world's laces. As a PhD student, Elena Kanagy-Loux considers lace through the lenses of history, culture, and gender. How have textile artisans around the world developed lace strutures? Who was making lace—and who was wearing it? (For what matter, what is lace, anyway?) Beyond our assumptions about lace are delightful surprises: Wearing lace previously denoted power and wealth rather than femininity. Traditional lace may include a riot of color. Although they look delicate, lace fabrics can be surprisingly durable. Outside her academic pursuits, Elena takes a more hands-on view of lace. Having studied a variety of methods, she fell in love with bobbin lace, which seemed to click in her mind when she sat down at a lacemaking pillow. Like most of our readers, Elena generally creates lace for her own interest and enjoyment, though she has accepted several notable commissions: a collar presented to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg by Columbia Law School on the 25th anniversary of her investiture to the Supreme court, and a collar designed for the Threads of Power exhibit (https://www.bgc.bard.edu/exhibitions/exhibitions/118/threads-of-power) at the Bard Graduate Center. In addition to her own work, she teaches extensively, finding an audience of needleworkers eager to learn bobbin lace or improve their skills. She co-founded the Brooklyn Lace Guild, which offers classes as well as a community of lacemakers Elena often hears from non-makers, “Isn't that a dying art?” She replies—in her classes, her needlework, and her wardrobe (which often includes lace in her colorful, contemporary style)—“Lacemaking is a thriving art!” Links Elena Kanagy-Loux's website (https://elenakanagyloux.carbonmade.com/) Find Elena on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/erenanaomi), YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@elenakanagy-loux3846), and TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@erenanaomi) Thr Brooklyn Lace Guild (https://www.brooklynlaceguild.com/), which Elena co-founded, is hosting its first exhibition, “Little Lace: The Work of Brooklyn Lace Guild,” (https://www.brooklynlaceguild.com/exhibitions) from October 10, 2024, through January 11, 2025. Welcome back to Hardcore Penn State Football, your unfiltered deep dive into Nittany Lions news, analysis, and fan-driven discussions! In this episode – dropping January 8, 2026 – hosts Cory Lestochi & Shawn Kane kick off the new year by celebrating the 2025 season with our annual fan-voted award show, debating Penn State's transfer portal performance so far, and breaking down the latest defensive line additions amid the ongoing roster rebuild under Matt Campbell. With the portal window in full swing, we're unpacking the highs, lows, and what it all means for a reloaded 2026 squad. Whether you're reminiscing about last season or hyped for the future, this one's for the true blue-and-white faithful! It's time for the third annual Hardies Award Show – our fan-powered recap of the 2025 Nittany Lions campaign! Voted on exclusively by you, the listeners and followers, we reveal winners in categories like Offensive MVP (shoutout to RB Kaytron Allen's monster 1,303-yard, 15-TD season), Defensive Standout, Best Game (that 37-10 Nebraska blowout), Worst Moment (the heartbreaking Northwestern loss), and more surprises. The portal frenzy has been chaotic for PSU, with over 40 players exiting and a heavy influx from Iowa State – but is it enough, or have the Nittany Lions fallen short? Shawn argues the case for underwhelm, pointing to massive losses like QB Ethan Grunkemeyer, multiple DEs (Zuriah Fisher, Jaylen Harvey, Chaz Coleman), and the need for more high-impact non-ISU additions amid a $30M NIL commitment. Cory counters with the positives: 24 incoming transfers (including QB Rocco Becht and RB James Peoples from Ohio State), key retentions like LB Tony Rojas and OT Anthony Donkoh, and how Campbell's strategy avoids over-relying on portal-heavy rebuilds that often flop. We debate fan opinions from social media and break down position-by-position impacts on the offense and defense. The DL room gets a much-needed boost! Amid heavy losses (Dani Dennis-Sutton to NFL, Xavier Gilliam and others to portal), PSU lands key additions like DT Keanu Williams (from UCLA, a plug-and-play interior force), DL Alijah Carnell (from Iowa State, 6-6, 290-pound athlete with Big 12 experience), DT Armstrong Nnodim (from Oklahoma State, 11 tackles in 2025 as a redshirt freshman), and EDGE Alexander McPherson (from Colorado, 6-6, 250-pounder with three years left and 16 tackles as a rookie). Visit rhettcoblentz.com for your graphic design needs!
BuffStampede.com publisher Adam Munsterteiger and football analyst William Gardner break down all the latest transfer news, as Colorado has quickly filled a lot of its needs already through the portal.

What happens when the need to appear competent becomes the very thing that disconnects us from others—and from ourselves? In this deeply honest and surprisingly funny conversation, Ian welcomes author, speaker, and Enneagram Three, Steve Cuss for a wide-ranging dialogue on anxiety, performance, false self, and the quiet freedom that comes with becoming more human-sized. Drawing from Steve's experience as a hospital chaplain, pastor, and leadership consultant, they explore why our most polished coping strategies often come from fear, how predictable patterns keep us stuck, and why anxiety is so contagious in families, churches, and organizations. Along the way, they unpack the Enneagram Three's drive to succeed, the exhaustion of self-presentation, the difference between ambition and authenticity, and why true maturity looks a lot like being relaxed—no masks required. Expect stories, laughs, hard-earned wisdom, and a refreshing reminder that you don't have to win the room to belong in it. If your nervous system needs a deep breath and your soul could use some permission to stand down from proving itself, this episode is for you. Brian Nowak: Welcome to Thoughts on the Market. I'm Brian Nowak, Morgan Stanley's Head of U.S. Internet Research. Andrew Percoco: And I'm Andrew Percoco, Head of North America Autos and Shared Mobility Research. Brian Nowak: Today we're going to talk about why we think 2026 could be a game changer and a point of inflection for autonomous vehicles and autonomous driving. It's Thursday, January 8th at 10am in New York. So, Andrew, let's get started. Have you ridden an autonomous car before? Andrew Percoco: Yeah, absolutely. Took a few in L.A., took one in San Francisco not too long ago. Pretty seamless and interesting experience to say the least. Brian Nowak: Any accidents or awkward left turns? Or did you feel pretty comfortable the whole time? Andrew Percoco: No, I felt pretty comfortable the whole time. No edge cases, no issues. So, all five star reviews for me. Brian Nowak: Andrew, we think your answer is going to be a lot more common as we go throughout 2026. As autonomous availability scales throughout more and more cities. Things are changing quickly. And we kind of look at our model on a city-by-city basis. We think that overall availability for autonomous driving in the U.S. is going to go from about 15 percent of the urban population at the end of 2025 to over 30 percent of the urban population by year end 2026. Andrew Percoco: Yeah, totally agree. Brian, I'm just curious. Like maybe layout for us, you know, what you're expecting for 2026 in more detail in terms of city rollouts, players involved and what we should be watching for throughout the next, you know, nine to 12 months. Brian Nowak: We have multiple new cities across the United States where we expect Waymo, Tesla, Zoox, and others to expand their fleet, expand autonomous driving availability, and ultimately make the product a lot more available and commonplace for people. There are also new potential edge cases that we think we're going to see. We're going to have our first snow cities with Waymo expected to launch in Washington, D.C.; potentially in Colorado, potentially in Michigan. So, we could have proof of concept that autonomous driving can also work in snow throughout [20]26 and into 2027 as well. So, in all, we think as we sit here at the start of [20]26, one year from now, there's going to be a lot more people who are going to say: I'm using an autonomous car to drive me around in my everyday practice. Andrew Percoco: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. And I guess, what do you think the drivers are to get us there, right? There's also some concerns about safety, adoption, you know, cost structure. What are the main drivers that really make this growth algorithm work and really scales the robotaxi business for some of the key players? Brian Nowak: Part of it is regulatory. You know, we are still in a situation where we are dealing with state-by-state regulatory approvals needed for these autonomous vehicles and autonomous fleets to be built. We'll see if that changes, but for now, it's state by state regulation. After that, it comes down to technology, and each of the platforms needs to prove that their autonomous offerings are significantly safer than human driving. That is also linked to regulatory approval. And so, when we think about fleets becoming safer, proving that they can drive people more miles without having an accident than even a human can – we think about the autonomous players then scaling up their fleets. To make the cars and fleets available to more people. That is sort of the flywheel that we think is going to play out throughout 2026. The other part that we're very focused on across all the players from Waymo to Tesla to Zoox and others is the cost of the cars. And there is a big difference between the cost of a Waymo per mile versus the cost of a Tesla per mile. And we think one of the tension points, Andrew, that you can, you can talk about a little bit here, is the difference in the safety data and what we see on Tesla as of now versus Waymo – versus the cost advantage that Tesla has. So, talk about the cost advantage that Tesla has through all this as of right now. Andrew Percoco: Yeah, definitely. So, you know, as you mentioned, Tesla today has a very clear cost advantage over many of the robotaxi peers that they're competing with. A lot of that's driven by their vertical integration, and their sensor suite, right? So, their vehicle, the cost of their vehicle is – call it $35,000. You've got the camera only sensor approach. So, you don't have lidar, expensive lidar, and radar in the vehicle. And that's just really driven a meaningful cost improvement and cost advantage. On our math about a 40 percent cost advantage relative to Waymo today. Now going forward, you know, as you mentioned, I think the key hurdle here or bottleneck, that Tesla still needs to prove is their safety. And can they reach the same safety standards as a human driver? And, you know, the improvement that you've seen from Waymo. You know, to put some numbers around this. Based on publicly available data in Austin, Tesla's getting in a crash, you know, every about, call it every 50,000 miles; Waymo is closer to every 400,000 miles per crash. So today, Waymo is the leader on safety.I think the one important caveat that I want to mention here is that's on a relatively small number of miles driven for Tesla. They've only driven about 250,000 miles in Austin, whereas Waymo's driven close to, I think, a hundred million miles cumulatively. So, when you look back, I think this is going to be the kind of key catalyst and key data point for investors to watch is – how that data improves over the course of 2026. If you track Waymo – Waymo's data improved substantially as their miles driven improved, and as they launched into new cities. We'd expect Tesla to follow a similar trend. But that's going to be a huge catalyst in validating this camera only approach. If that happens, Tesla's not limited in scale, they're not limited in manufacturing capacity. You can meaningfully see them expand… Or you can see them expand quite quickly once they prove out that safety requirement. Brian Nowak: I think it's a great point because, you know, one of the other big debates that we are all going to have to monitor in the AV space throughout 2026 is: How quickly does Tesla completely pull the safety drivers, and how quickly do they scale up production of the vehicles? Because one of the bank shots around autonomous driving is actually the rideshare industry. You know, we have partnerships; some partnerships between Waymo and Uber and Waymo and Lyft. But Tesla is not partnering with anyone. And so, I think the extent to which we see a faster than expected ramp up in deployment from Tesla can have a lot of impact. Not only on autonomous adoption, competition with Waymo, but also the rideshare industry. So how do you think about the puts and takes on Tesla and sort of removing the drivers and scaling up the fleet this year? What should we be watching? Andrew Percoco: Yeah, so they've already made some strides there in Austin. They've pulled the safety monitor. They haven't opened that up to the public yet without the safety monitor. They're still testing, presumably in that geography. They need to be extremely careful in terms of, you know, the regulatory compliance and making sure they're doing this in a safe way. Ultimately that's what matters most to them. We do expect them to roll it out to the public without the safety monitor in 2026. Whether or not, that's the first quarter or the third quarter – is a little bit tougher to predict. But I think it's reasonable to assume whatever the timeline is, they're going to make sure it's the safest way possible to ensure that there's, you know, no unintended consequences as it relates to regulation, et cetera. I think one, also; one important data point or interesting data point here. You know, we model, I think, a 100 percent CAGR in miles driven, autonomous miles driven through 2032. You can talk a little bit about, you know, what the implications for rideshare, but I think important. It's important to contextualize that would still only represent less than 1 percent of total U.S. miles driven in the U.S. So substantial growth over the next, call it six or seven years. But still a massive TAM to be tapped into beyond 2032. And I think the key there is – what's the cost reduction roadmap look like? And can we get robotaxis to a point where they are cheaper than personal car ownership? And could robotaxis at some point disrupt the car ownership process? Brian Nowak: Yeah. And the other more important point around rideshare will be how much do these autonomous offerings expand the addressable market for rideshare and prove to be incremental? As opposed to being cannibalistic on existing ride share rides. Because you're right that, you know, even our out year autonomous projections still have it less than 1 percent of the total trips. But the question is how much does that add to ride share? Because in some scenarios, those autonomous trips could end up being 20 to 30 percent of the rideshare industry. This matters for Uber and Lyft because while they are partnering Waymo and other autonomous players across a handful of markets, they're not partnered in all the markets. And in some markets, Waymo is going alone. Tesla is going at it alone. And so when we look at our model and we say as of 2024, Uber and Lyft make up 100 percent of the ride share industry based on the current partnerships, which includes Waymo and Tesla and all; and Zoox and all the players, we think that Uber and Lyft will only make up 30 percent of the autonomous driving market. And so it's really important for the rideshare industry that when, number one, we see AV's being incremental to the TAM; and two, that Uber and Lyft are able to continue to add more partnerships over time to drive more of that overall long-term AV opportunity and participate in all this rideshare industry over the next five years. Andrew Percoco: I think it's really clear that the future of autonomous vehicles is here and we've reached an inflection point; and there's a lot of interesting catalysts and data points for us and for investors to watch for throughout 2026.So Brian, thanks again for taking the time to talk. Brian Nowak: Andrew, great speaking with you. And thanks for listening. It's Thursday, January 8th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Columbian pastor killed on New Year's Eve Armed individuals shot a Protestant pastor to death in Colombia on New Year's Eve. Pastor José Otoniel Ortega was a leader in the Foursquare Gospel denomination. He was celebrating the start of the New Year with his family at the time of the attack. The South American nation has faced a long-running internal conflict. Sadly, criminal groups in this conflict often target religious leaders for opposing violence. At least 10 Protestant leaders have died in such killings over the last year in Colombia. Christian Solidarity Worldwide said Ortega's denomination described him as “a beloved pastor, a faithful servant, a man who walked with God, who preached the word with love and gave his life to Kingdom service.” Venezuelan Evangelical groups calling for prayer Evangelical organizations in Venezuela are calling for prayer and peace as the country faces political upheaval. A message from the Evangelical Council of Venezuela stated, “We reaffirm our confidence in the sovereignty of God, who reigns over the nations and guides history according to His eternal purpose. … As a church, we remain committed to preaching the Gospel, building up God's people, and the pursuit of the common good.” The statement comes after the United States captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro over the weekend. Psalm 75:6-7 says, “For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” America gets 40 million barrels of Venezuelan oil Interim authorities in Venezuela will be handing over 30 to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States. U.S. President Trump announced the news on Tuesday. He wrote on Truth Social, “This oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” President Trump and top U.S. oil executives plan to meet Friday. They are planning major investments in Venezuela's oil sector. Abortion deaths totaled 73 million worldwide in 2025 Abortion deaths rose to over 73 million last year according to Worldometer's analysis of data from the World Health Organization. Worldometer reports 140 million total deaths in 2025. Sixty-seven million of those deaths were attributed to a cause other than abortion. That means the killing of unborn babies accounted for over 50% of deaths last year. Once again, abortion was the leading cause of death in the world. Romans 3:15-18 says, “Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Texas and Florida sue FDA over generic abortion kill pill In the United States, Texas and Florida filed a lawsuit last month against the Food and Drug Administration. The lawsuit challenges the FDA's decision to approve a new generic version of the abortion drug mifepristone. The case also challenges rules that allow women to easily obtain such abortion pills through the mail. It adds, “The United States Food and Drug Administration is responsible ‘for protect[ing] the public health by ensuring that … drugs are safe and effective.' Yet the FDA's approval and deregulation of abortion drugs have placed women and girls in harm's way.” Trump cuts social service funding to blue states over fraud concern The Trump administration cut social services funding to Democrat-led states over fraud concerns on Tuesday. The Department of Health and Human Services froze the $10 billion in funding to New York, Illinois, California, Minnesota, and Colorado. This follows the department's decision last Tuesday to freeze $185 million in child care payments to Minnesota. Daycare centers run by Somalis in the state are facing major allegations of fraud. Christian author Phillip Yancey confessed 8-year affair Philip Yancey, the bestselling Christian author, has admitted to having an extramarital affair with a married woman for eight years and has stepped away from ministry, reports the Christian Post. In an emailed statement to Christianity Today, where he was editor-at-large, the 76-year-old Yancey stated that “I confess that for eight years I willfully engaged in a sinful affair with a married woman. My conduct defied everything that I believe about marriage. It was also totally inconsistent with my faith and my writings and caused deep pain for her husband and both of our families.” Yancey added, “I have confessed my sin before God and my wife, and have committed myself to a professional counseling and accountability program. I have failed morally and spiritually, and I grieve over the devastation I have caused.” Calling the affair “my great shame,” Yancey added that he was “now focused on rebuilding trust and restoring my marriage of 55 years. Having disqualified myself from Christian ministry, I am therefore retiring from writing, speaking, and social media. Instead, I need to spend my remaining years living up to the words I have already written. I pray for God's grace and forgiveness — as well as yours — and for healing in the lives of those I've wounded.” Hebrews 13:3 says, “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Phillip Yancey was the author of several notable Christian books, including Disappointment with God, Where is God When it Hurts?, The Jesus I Never Knew, What's So Amazing About Grace?, Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? and Where the Light Fell. U.S. government encouraging more whole foods & protein, less sugar And finally, the Trump administration released new dietary guidelines for Americans yesterday. The policy encourages people to eat more whole foods and protein while consuming less processed foods and added sugar. The guidelines noted, “For decades, federal incentives have promoted low-quality, highly processed foods and pharmaceutical intervention instead of prevention.” Listen to comments from Brooke Rollins, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. ROLLINS: “The new guidelines are all about putting the well being of Americans first, exactly where it should have been all along. This is the foundation that will make America healthy again, not just for those of us alive today, but for our children and our children's children and those coming behind. “God bless American families. God bless the American farmer and rancher and God bless America.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, January 8th, in the year of our Lord 2026. August 15, 1958. Boulder County, Colorado. While attending Camp St. Malo, a Catholic boys' summer camp, a ten-year old hearing-impaired boy named Bobby Bizup vanishes without a trace. Nearly one year later, some of Bobby's skeletal remains are discovered on a mountainside three miles from the camp and it is initially believed that he got lost and died of exposure. However, an investigation into child sexual abuse allegations against Catholic priests eventually reveals that some of these accused individuals worked as counsellors at Camp St. Malo during the time period Bobby went missing. In 2021, a man comes forward and provides the authorities with a skull which he claims had been given to him by his father. While DNA testing has not yet been performed, there is speculation that the skull belonged to Bobby and that foul play and a cover-up may have taken place. On this week's episode of “The Path Went Chilly”, we explore the unexplained death of Bobby Bizup, which has recently returned to the spotlight because of a shocking scandal. If you have any information about this case, please call the National Park Services' Investigative Services Branch tip line at (888) 653-0009.Additional Reading:https://www.9news.com/article/news/investigations/what-happened-to-bobby-bizup-colorado-catholic-summer-camp/73-3df3dd44-eb90-4174-8b0a-865476e2a0fdhttps://www.9news.com/article/news/crime/true-crime/bobby-bizup-skull/73-40ab340e-6db2-431d-bf97-1baf8cf1d034https://www.9news.com/article/news/investigations/priest-sex-abuse-report-church-camp-1958-when-deaf-boy-disappeared/73-31c23f99-ebb1-422a-b949-2c05e4971ee3“Mystery on Mt.
