In dieser Episode tauchen wir tief in einen der kontroversesten Justizfälle der Schweiz ein: Brian Keller, bekannt auch als Carlos. Ein Mann, der mehrfach wegen Gewaltdelikten verurteilt wurde – und doch in erster Linie als Symbol für eine zweifelhafte Justizpolitik gilt. Seit 2013 sorgt sein Fall für heftige öffentliche Debatten: von teuren sozialpädagogischen Programmen (Sondersetting) bis hin zu menschenunwürdigen Behandlungen in Schweizer Gefängnissen. Ist Brian Keller ein Einzelfall? Oder zeigt sein Schicksal strukturelle Probleme in der Schweizer Justiz? Bernard Rambert kennt diese Fragen aus eigener Erfahrung. In den späten 70er-Jahren wurde ihm das Anwaltspatent von der Berner Justiz entzogen – weil er öffentlich über Folter in Schweizer Gefängnissen sprach. Nun, über 40 Jahre später: Was hat sich verändert? Was nicht? Was lösen die unmenschlichen Behandlungen von Brian Keller in Beni aus? In einem Beitrag der SRF-Rundschau wurden Polizei und Staatsanwaltschaft Fehler bei den Ermittlungen vorgeworfen. Die Regierung teilt nun mit: Ein Gutachten habe gezeigt, dass kein Fehlverhalten vorliege. Die weiteren Themen: * Der geplante Terroranschlag in Wien hat Auswirkungen auf die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen an der Zürcher Street Parade. * Das Zürcher Obergericht muss über eine Abfindung für Brian Keller nochmals neu befinden, sagt das Bundesgericht.

Dort ging es um die Arbeit eines Jugendanwalts und ein Sondersetting für «Carlos», wie er im Film genannt wurde. Ein über 30'000 Franken teures Spezialprogramm. «Sozialwahn!», rief der «Blick» und von da an stand der Häftling Brian Keller unter Beobachtung.

She began working with children ages birth to three years old and became certified by the state of North Carolina as an Infant-Toddler Family Specialist. Veenu continued her education and to hone her skills by becoming a Behavioral Educator who specialized in working with children on the Autism Spectrum and extensively trained in ABA therapy.In 2007, Veenu had a revelation. She had spent years guiding others to their fullest potential, assisting them in finding and achieving their goals, yet she had not evaluated her own life’s goals. She knew she enjoyed helping others and thrived on seeing their successes. However, she wanted to expand her gift from one-on-one assistance to something that would allow her to affect even more people at a time. Thus, the start of years of personal introspection, diversified education, and self development.She attended and graduated from Anthony Robbins' Mastery University and Leadership Academy, became certified in Neuro Linguistic Programming and emMatrix, and received certifications in Hypnotherapy and Time Line therapy. In addition, she completed the Authentic Voice Boot Camp by Shore Slocum in order to further develop her talent of public speaking, and through the Robbins Madanes Coaching Program became certified as a Life Coach.Through her reflection on her own life choices, Veenu developed such a deep, compelling need to help others find their true identity. She has turned her experiences, although tragic at times, into the fuel for her passion to help others and a make difference in the lives of many. Presently, Veenu continues to affect change in the lives of people across the globe with her anti-bullying campaign, personal coaching, public speaking events, and authoring number one selling books on Amazon.

His story has become legendary at the University of St. Thomas—and beyond. Zachary Quinn was a sophomore when he enrolled in an entrepreneurship class. There, he met Brian Keller, and together, they turned an assignment to create a business into Love Your Melon, the $40 million hat company that donates half its profits to fighting pediatric cancer. “We wanted to start something that would make a difference,” Quinn says. On this episode of By All Means, he outlines the key moments and decisions that set Love Your Melon up for success, including its college ambassador program, a hockey bus tour that garnered national press, and brand building through social media. Quinn talks about Love Your Melon’s commitment to U.S. manufacturing and its first brick and mortar store, which the company is using for special events designed to tell the brand story and build engagement. What’s next? “I never look more than six months out,” Quinn says. But he does have “more crazy stuff” in the works, including a concert series and e-gaming competition. After our conversation with Quinn, we go Back to the Classroom with his entrepreneurship professor at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business Jay Ebben. “We really push students to build their career or a business around their own values, their own sense of purpose and mission,” Ebben says. He describes what it was like to have the Love Your Melon founders in class, and why he gave them an A- for the semester—a grading decision he’s never quite been able to live down.
