Claudia Schmidt & Sally Rogers are a soul-deep musical combination. Sally is perhaps more closely associated with the folk music genre, and while Claudia has done a lot of folk, she's also well-known and loved for her expeditions into the jazz world. Whenever they combine their voices & music, there is an alchemy that transmutes music into magic. Both tell stories & capture images to rivet the heart & guide us on a better, more fulfilling, path.

For the next two episodes of the program, we’ll survey of some of the finest music released in 2020. It was a truly unique year for the recording industry. There were many homemade recordings released during the quarantine periods and many artists had to postpone touring putting their projects on hold. That said there was much to like in the music released over the past year, and we'll hear some of the best, including selections from Will Hoge, George Mann, Claudia Schmidt, Appalachian Roadshow, Carla Ulbrich and many more.

Doña Oxford is one of my favorite high-powered female musicians. In fact, she is one of my favorite musicians, male or female, of any power. Her skill on the keyboard is unmatched. Her songs and lyrics always on point, and her vocals energize audiences like no one else can. Her live shows have been blowing the roof off of venues from Los Angeles to London and she is here on Music FridayLive! this Friday. If you don't know her, check out the video on the Music Friday website Regular listeners to Music FridayLive! will recall last month when we tried to interview Claudia Schmidt and found her digging snow out from under a car that was trapped. She was on a cell phone and not in a good place for the scheduled interview, both geographically and otherwise. So we rescheduled for this Friday and, weather permitting, Claudia will join us, sans snow but with her songs from her latest album. She is talented, funny, opinionated and a greata guest!!. Don't mss it.
