On this week's Loaded Radio Podcast, Carla Harvey (formerly of Butcher Babies) joins Scott for the first time to talk about her brand-new band The Violent Hour, her role as the new frontwoman of Lords Of Acid, and her evolution as an artist. In the second half of the episode, Metal Injection journalist and content creator Greg Kennelty appears on Voices From The Underground, diving into the state of music journalism, independent media, and his growing YouTube presence. Carla Harvey launches The Violent Hour and joins Lords Of Acid It's a busy and exciting new chapter for Carla Harvey. After years of crushing it onstage with Butcher Babies, Carla is stepping into the spotlight with two brand new ventures — her searing new project The Violent Hour and her surprising new role as the frontwoman for the long-running electro-industrial act Lords Of Acid. In her first-ever conversation with Scott on The Loaded Radio Podcast, Carla opens up about the creative direction of The Violent Hour, the freedom she feels with this new musical outlet, and how stepping into the world of Lords Of Acid has allowed her to channel a completely different side of her performance style. She also touches on what it's like to move from groove-laced metalcore to full-blown industrial chaos, the importance of authenticity in her work, and how her creative fire continues to evolve. Whether you've been a fan since her Butcher Babies days or you're just discovering her now through The Violent Hour, this interview gives a unique and personal look at one of heavy music's most dynamic voices. Greg Kennelty joins Voices From The Underground The second half of the episode features a new installment of Voices From The Underground, a segment that highlights creators and contributors in the metal scene who are shaping the industry behind the scenes. This week's guest is Greg Kennelty, longtime journalist at Metal Injection and one of the most respected names in underground metal media. Greg discusses his work covering everything from breaking band news to opinion pieces and reviews, how the landscape of metal journalism is shifting, and how he's building out his own platform via YouTube. From writing for one of the biggest names in metal press to crafting independent content that speaks directly to fans, Greg gives an insightful look at what it means to cover this genre in 2025 — and where things are headed next. Discover more on LoadedRadio.com This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in the evolution of modern metal — both onstage and behind the scenes. Whether you're into the crushing aggression of The Violent Hour, the twisted theatrics of Lords Of Acid, or the sharp-eyed analysis from voices like Greg Kennelty, this one has something for you. The Grammy-winning drummer joins the Loaded Radio Podcast to discuss new music, past tensions, and what really happened with Megadeth and Lamb Of God TL;DR The Chris Adler Loaded Radio Podcast interview: The drummer talks about his latest band Firstborne, living with musician's dystonia, and—for the first time in full—what led to his firing from Lamb Of God. In this in-depth conversation, Adler opens up about working with Dave Mustaine on Megadeth's Dystopia, the emotional toll of being let go from a band he helped build, and the creative fire that still fuels his work today. The podcast follows the viral teaser video that garnered over 200,000 views in just days. You can check that out at the bottom of this article. Firstborne and the return of creative freedom In the early moments of the podcast, Chris Adler talks passionately about his current band, Firstborne, a high-powered metal outfit that includes bassist James LoMenzo (ex-Megadeth, White Lion) and vocalist Girish Pradhan (Girish and The Chronicles). For Adler, Firstborne represents not just a new project, but a reclaiming of musical identity. He describes the band as a space where he can create without compromise—an important contrast to his time in more rigid, expectation-heavy settings like Lamb Of God and Megadeth. With new music in the works and a growing fanbase, Firstborne is where Adler says he feels most musically free. The Chris Adler Loaded Radio Podcast Interview: “It was devastating to me.” One of the most talked-about moments in metal this week came from a teaser clip—now gone viral—in which Chris Adler confirmed he was fired from Lamb Of God. In the full podcast episode, he goes much deeper, explaining that he was silently suffering from musician's dystonia, a neurological condition that severely affected his right leg, making drumming a physical and emotional struggle. Adler makes it clear that the departure was not mutual or voluntary. At the time, the band didn't fully understand what he was dealing with—nor did he. It was only after his exit that he received a diagnosis. Working with Megadeth: “It was lovely.” Adler's time in Megadeth was short but historic. He recorded drums for the band's Grammy-winning album Dystopia and performed live with them during a particularly high-profile period. In the episode, Adler reflects on working with Dave Mustaine, saying, “He's the most generous, nicest, kindest guy.” Despite Mustaine's often polarizing reputation, Adler describes the experience as “a dream come true.” At the same time, he acknowledges that working with Megadeth and Protest The Hero during that same period contributed to growing tension within Lamb Of God, which was already strained by his physical health issues. The emotional aftermath and what's next Adler also discusses the emotional impact of being removed from the band he co-founded, the complicated relationships that followed, and his journey to acceptance. He makes it clear that despite everything, he holds no ill will, and continues to find peace and purpose through projects like Firstborne and his latest band Shallow Rising. The conversation is open, honest, and at times heavy—making it one of the most significant interviews of Adler's career to date. Inside the Underground: Joe Davis Joins the Show The second half of this week's Loaded Radio Podcast marks the debut of a brand-new segment we're calling Inside the Underground — a recurring feature where we highlight the voices of people who live and breathe heavy music from the inside. These are the producers, players, artists, writers, and behind-the-scenes champions of metal culture who often go unheard — but deserve to be known. This week, Joe Davis of The Joe Davis Band joins Scott to talk about who he is, what he does, and why his journey in music matters. A gifted guitarist, songwriter, and independent artist, Joe Davis brings authenticity and grit to everything he touches — and in this conversation, he shares the struggles, wins, and motivations that fuel his place in the metal and hard rock community. It's a grounded, human contrast to the headline stories, and a fresh addition to what the Loaded Radio Podcast delivers weekly.

HOLLYWOOD - Lancaster, California artist Ms. C.L. Fors is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and was honored along with ten other artists and twelve writers at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California on April 10th. Her art is published along with the other writers' and illustrators' stories and art in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 which was officially released on April 22nd 2025. CL Fors—Cherrie to her friends—was born to a mad-scientist and a mad-artist, so it's no surprise she's cultivated lifelong dual passions for art and science that shape her career in writing and illustrating science fiction and fantasy. Cherrie has lived all over the US and now calls the Southern California desert her home, where her family tethers are. She shares her life, love, and creative endeavors with her husband, four clever children, and beloved art family. Cherrie spent her early years obsessed with story and the many ways to tell it through drawing, writing, sculpting, and performing—sketching for hours, cobbling together ‘creatures' from whatever she could find in the back of junk-drawers, or staring into marbles and imagining she could step through into another world. Cherrie served in the military and raised a family, but she knew she had to find a way back to her creative path. In 2012, she made a commitment to write her stories and, over the next ten years, wrote, illustrated, and published four science fiction novels. She also began submitting short stories and illustrations to Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests which she uses to strengthen her skills and as a goal-post to keep striving. Her ambition for the future is to find publishers for her finished manuscripts and finish her first graphic novel. You can find her work at www.clforsauthor.com and her Patreon, The Art of CL Fors: sci-fi, fantasy, bat-piggies, oh my! The Illustrators of the Future Contest judges include, Bob Eggleton (11 Chesley Awards and 9 Hugo Awards), Larry Elmore (Dungeons & Dragons book covers), Echo Chernik (graphic designs for major corporations including Celestial Seasonings tea packaging), Rob Prior (art for Spawn, Heavy Metal comics and Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Ciruelo (Eragon Coloring Book). HOLLYWOOD - Alexandria, Virginia author T.R. Naus is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and was honored along with eleven other writers and eleven artists at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California on April 10th. His story, "Storm Damage," is published along with the other writers' and illustrators' stories and art in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 which was officially released on April 22nd 2025. T.R. Naus emerged from a love of exploration. He grew up traveling across Europe, Asia, and the United States as a military brat and a soldier in the US Army, developing a passion for wandering, adventures, and intriguing stories. His journey led him to experience fascinating cultures and subcultures, where he learned from inspiring people, but with each new encounter, he wondered how evolving technology impacts how we see ourselves and the communities around us. He eventually settled in Virginia with his wife and two daughters and turned to speculative fiction to express those anxieties-and hopes-about our future. The Contest, one of the most prestigious writing and illustrating competitions in the world, is currently in its 42nd year and is judged by some of the premier names in speculative fiction.

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions:    Kris: Hi, I was wondering if you would have any suggestions ,help or feed back on dermatomyositis/antisynthetase syndrome . My husband (Anthony) was recently diagnosed with it, and everything I read and hear it seems little scary. We see a functional medicine dr. now but she is waiting to see what a rheumatologist suggests. Both my husband and myself are thinking detoxing would be the first thing we should do. Would you have any suggestions or thought on how we deal and handle this? thank you in advance                                                                                                                                                    Frankie: Hi Stephen, hope your having a great day. I've been dealing with post-nasal drip for a while, and my ENT believes it's caused by acid. I'm 21 and was prescribed two doses of Pantoprazole 40mg and two doses of Ranitidine 150mg, but I stopped after a month because I was supposed to take them for three months, and I don't want to stay on them that long. I had asthma when I was younger, so I wonder if that could be a factor. At this point, I don't know what else to do to get rid of it. any advice?                                                                                                                                           Melissa: Hi Dr. Cabral, I took the food sensitivity test and the heavy metals test. On my food sensitivity test it showed Candida albicans and I had some heavy metals such as aluminum and mercury show up on my HM test. Do you recommend doing the detox before doing the CBO protocol or vice versa? If I could only do one, which one would you recommend? For the detox, would you recommend the heavy metals one or the general 7 days (I've never done a detox before). Also, would it be safe to start the estrogen balance and estrogen support supplements at the same time as starting a detox or CBO protocol? If I'm just trying help my body excrete estrogen would you recommend just the estrogen balance supplement? I don't make too much estrogen but it's high because my body isn't excreting it well. TY!!!                  Jill: Thank you Dr. Cabral for your honest and straight forward approach. I have the MTHFR gene and seek a daily vitamin with B vitamins & folate. Many products are available with the activated or methylated forms of folate, B6, and B12. However, when I take them I experience headaches, a feeling of overstimulation, and anxiousness. I spent months experimenting and broke down my multivitamin taking a complex without any B vitamins and then added in individual forms of non methylated folate and B vitamins. I had no issue when folate and B vitamins were methyl free such as folinic acid and the Hydroxocobalamin and Adenosylcobalamin forms of B12. Tell me I'm not crazy! Do you agree that some people may be sensitive to methylated nutrients? Would you consider making DNS with methyl free nutrients?                 Morgan: Hi Dr Cabral. I'm 34 years old and have recently been diagnosed with isolated high diastolic blood pressure (systolic is normal). I live a healthy lifestyle including daily exercise, balanced diet and maintain a healthy weight. I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I recently left a job causing me some stress but otherwise I live a pretty stress-free life and I also practice daily yoga and meditation. My mom was diagnosed with hypertension in her 20s and has been on medication since. My HCP suggested starting me on medication too. I feel very strongly about relying on a lifelong medication. My question is even though I do everything correct to prevent high blood pressure, is it possible that some things are just simply genetic? Any suggestions before trying medication? Anything helps! Justine Jones Employed To Serve Interview: Justine sits down with Scott Penfold on the latest Loaded Radio Podcast to dive deep into the band's latest album Fallen Star, collaborating with Will Ramos of Lorna Shore, drawing inspiration from Scandinavian melodic death metal, and how she balances fronting a crushing metalcore band while running Church Road Records. Justine Jones opens up about the emotional and creative journey behind Fallen Star With their highly anticipated fifth studio album Fallen Star arriving back on April 25, 2025, Employed To Serve are ushering in a new era of modern metalcore—one that fuses melody, rage, and raw vulnerability in equal measure. Frontwoman Justine Jones joins Scott Penfold on this week's Loaded Radio Podcast to pull back the curtain on the emotional core of the new record and what fans can expect from this bold new chapter. In the conversation, Justine breaks down the band's stylistic evolution, citing influences like In Flames and Soilwork as guiding lights behind the album's more melodic and expansive sound. “We wanted to create something that felt bigger, more cinematic,” she says. “There's still heaviness—but it's in service of the emotion, not just brutality for brutality's sake.” 'Atonement' with Will Ramos brings fury and fun to the spotlight The podcast also digs into the band's lead single "Atonement", which features none other than Will Ramos of Lorna Shore on guest vocals. The track rips with intensity, and its Office-inspired music video has been making waves for its tongue-in-cheek take on workplace chaos. According to Justine, the idea for the video came from wanting to show a different side of the band. Recording one song at a time, and what it taught Justine about herself In a new approach for Fallen Star, Justine recorded her vocals one track at a time instead of tackling them all at once. The result? A more focused and emotionally connected performance across the board. “It helped me put everything I had into each individual song,” she explains. “That kind of care really brought the record to life.” Running Church Road Records while fronting one of the UK's heaviest bands Aside from her vocal duties, Justine also co-runs the fiercely independent Church Road Records with guitarist Sammy Urwin. The label has become a hub for some of the most exciting rising acts in heavy music. On the podcast, she talks about how that role complements her work in Employed To Serve and why keeping things DIY still matters in today's oversaturated industry. Touring, the future of the band, and staying grounded through chaos With a new UK headline tour on the horizon and buzz building around Fallen Star, Employed To Serve seem poised to take their place among the elite modern metal acts pushing the genre forward. But Justine remains refreshingly grounded: “We're always just trying to make the best music we can—if it connects with people, that's the real reward.” Bio Employed To Serve is a British metalcore band formed in 2011 in Woking, England, by vocalist Justine Jones and guitarist Sammy Urwin. Initially emerging from the underground scene with a raw, grindcore-influenced sound, the band has evolved to incorporate elements of hardcore punk, mathcore, and death metal. Their discography includes five studio albums: Greyer Than You Remember (2015), The Warmth of a Dying Sun (2017), Eternal Forward Motion (2019), Conquering (2021), and Fallen Star (2025). Known for their intense live performances and thought-provoking lyrics, Employed To Serve has been praised for crushing the modern metalcore scene while maintaining a DIY ethos.

You stepped in for Tom Taylor on this annual—can you walk us through how that came about? Was this a story you had to write quickly, or did you have some room to breathe and make it your own? 2. The story kicks off with a classic locked-room mystery—an impossible murder in a high-tech safe room. What drew you to that kind of puzzle, and how did you approach building a detective narrative worthy of Batman?3. There's a moment where Batman's costume subtly shifts from black to blue once he's in London. Is that just a visual cue, or is there something more symbolic going on there?4. What's your take on the annual format? Do you see it as a chance to tell something self-contained and weird, or a pressure cooker to do a lot in a single oversized issue?5. You're working with a trio of incredible artists—Stefano Raffaele, John McCrea, and Fico Ossio. How did you decide who handled which parts of the story, and what did each artist bring to the table stylistically?6. This annual flirts with the idea of Batman not just solving crimes but confronting the nature of reality. How far is too far for Batman, in your mind, when it comes to stories that push past the physical world?7. UK mythology and angels? John Dee's magic - Elizabethan 8. Maybe the most important question of them all, what is Batman's favorite tea and how does he take it?

BROOKLYN WRITER WINS GRAND PRIZE AT HOLLYWOOD AWARDS EVENT Featured in New Release HOLLYWOOD - Brooklyn, New York writer Randyn Bartholomew is the Grand Prize Winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest earning him the Golden Pen Award trophy and a $5,000 cash prize. His winning story, "Ascii," is published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 which will be officially released on April 22nd. Mr. Bartholomew was honored along with the other winners in the Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests on April 10th at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California. Born in New York state on pi day, Randyn grew up in the nearby New Jersey towns of Maplewood and Summit. Although majoring in math at Cornell, he's since switched gears to become a Brooklyn-based freelance writer of science journalism, ghost writing, copywriting, and, whenever possible, fiction. His articles have appeared in Scientific American, Salon, The Washington Post Magazine, among others. He enjoys running in Prospect Park, reading old books and new, and finding free lectures to attend. While he reads eclectically, his main love is science fiction. When people frown at this preference (or, much worse, smile politely) he calls in the cavalry and reminds himself of the Ray Bradbury quote, “I have never listened to anyone who criticized my taste in space travel, sideshows or gorillas. When this occurs, I pack up my dinosaurs and leave the room.” He's been using a flip phone for the last four years. The Contest, one of the most prestigious writing and illustrating competitions in the world, is currently in its 42nd year and is judged by some of the premier names in speculative fiction. WASHINGTON ARTIST HONORED AT HOLLYWOOD AWARDS GALA Featured in New Release HOLLYWOOD - Washington, Utah artist Ms. Tremani Sutcliffe is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and was honored along with ten other artists and twelve writers at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California on April 10th. Her art is published along with the other writers' and illustrators' stories and art in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 which will be officially released on April 22nd 2025. Tremani Sutcliffe, born in 1990 in Provo, Utah, spent her early years exploring the rugged landscapes of middle-of-nowhere Arizona, where hiking in desert mountains and catching rattlesnakes ignited her adventurous spirit. Her passion for art stemmed from her love of books, and the fantastical covers that inspired her imagination. In true bookworm fashion, her artistic journey began at the local library, where she immersed herself in art instruction books, laying the foundation for her artistic journey. Through daily practice, relentless pursuit of new skills, and seeking mentorship from established artists, her commitment to learning new methods has continuously expanded her artistic repertoire. Tremani views art as a fusion of technique and creativity that brings beauty and meaning to life. After spending most of her young life drawing and painting with watercolors, she expanded her skillset to include oils. Although she also began working with acrylics, she quickly decided they must have been invented by an angry dude with horns and a pitchfork for the sole purpose of making her life miserable….and decided to develop her digital painting skills instead. The Illustrators of the Future Contest judges include, Bob Eggleton (11 Chesley Awards and 9 Hugo Awards), Larry Elmore (Dungeons & Dragons book covers), Echo Chernik (graphic designs for major corporations including Celestial Seasonings tea packaging), Rob Prior (art for Spawn, Heavy Metal comics and Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Ciruelo (Eragon Coloring Book).

I recently met Chris Luger at the very first Unconference in Sarasota FL. The dude looked like my kind of guy- energetic, bald, full of energy. At the conference we got the chance to talk a little about real estate, money, and a shared interest in several heavy metal bands. I wanted to continue that conversation more and really dig into who he is. Man, the levels to this guy run so deep, including commercial realty and a charity he runs that I didn't even know about. Indie rock pioneers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are celebrating 20 years with a special reissue. But what's the real story behind their unconventional rise to fame? In this episode of LaunchLeft, host Rain Phoenix and CYHSY frontman Alec Ounsworth, meet at Licorice Pizza in Studio City to unpack the band's journey from DIY darlings to indie rock icons. They touch on CYHSY's decision to remain unsigned. It wasn't just about rebellion, it was a commitment to artistic integrity that shaped their entire career. Ounsworth candidly discusses how his stubborn streak both helped and hindered the band's trajectory. Twenty years on, Alec reflects on how his views on collaboration and the music industry have matured. Alec then launches the up-and-coming Philly band Knifeplay, who'll be supporting CYHSY on tour. The generational exchange offers a fascinating glimpse into how the indie landscape has shifted. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in the evolution of indie music and the challenges of maintaining artistic authenticity in a changing industry. IN THIS EPISODE:  (00:00) Intro: LaunchLeft podcast with Rain Phoenix (05:03) Early 2000s indie music scene and industry changes (10:27) Alec's approach to independence and a discussion about self-sabotage (15:00) CHYSY’s approach to music videos (20:55) Alec's songwriting process and lyrical influences (31:40) Knifeplay is launched and TJ joins the conversation (34:58) TJ's musical influences and background (37:37) Using social media as musicians in a digital landscape (43:24) TJ's balanced approach to using social media (48:40) Authenticity and sustainability in music careers KEY TAKEAWAYS:  Maintaining artistic integrity can be challenging but is crucial for genuine connection with audiences. The music industry has seen significant changes, making it harder for new artists to break through. Collaboration can be a way for artists to promote each other and expand their audience. Social media presents both opportunities and challenges for musicians striving to balance authenticity with promotion. A heady blend of leftfield pop and melodic, exuberant indie rock, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is unquestionably among the finest and most influential independent releases of the 2000s. The celebration officially gets underway with the premiere of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s original 2004 version of the fan favorite, “Heavy Metal”. The newly remixed and mastered track was recently discovered among the original project files and captures what Clap Your Hands Say Yeah founder and frontman Alec Ounsworth calls “a special moment in time – a young group of guys all piling into one hotel room to wake up and go to a real studio (!) to try to come up with something special just for the fun of it.”  In addition to the digital anniversary release featuring the original version of “Heavy Metal,” a special deluxe reissue will arrive on limited edition vinyl LP in early 2025, released on CYHSY’s own label via Secretly Distribution, the defiantly independent home to over two decades of Alec Ounsworth’s music. Knifeplay is a band that eludes definition, existing somewhere between the nihilistic detachment of shoegaze and the emotional honesty of folk songwriting. Originally a solo bedroom recording project of Tj Strohmer’s, they’ve made a slow and careful shift into a collaborative, production focused, studio recorded band. Through their ever-expanding genre palette, range of fidelities, and long list of collaborators runs a unique current that ties everything together. Informed by his experiences living in Philadelphia and their contrast with his rural southern Maryland upbringing, Strohmer’s sometimes straightforward, sometimes dreamlike, but always philosophical lyrics feature scenes of darkness from many different aspects of life. He deals with themes of death, drugs, heartbreak, abuse, and self-destruction, all expressed through a delicate vocal style, which, combined with the band’s lush orchestral instrumentation gives a beautiful lightness to the heavy subject matter. Since their 2017 debut of home-recorded EPs, Knifeplay have earned a dedicated cult following through acclaimed debut album Pearlty (2019) and a lengthy B-Sides Compilation (2020), all either self-released or through small run tape labels. In 2021 they entered the studio with producer Jeff Zeigler, known for his work with Kurt Vile, Nothing, The War on Drugs, and more, first producing the Hurt Someone EP (Born Losers Records) before recording their upcoming sophomore full-length, Animal Drowning, to be released via Topshelf Records on October 19, 2022.

Aaron Beam discusses Red Fang's new collection and two decades of riff-driven sludge metal, plus Justin Benlolo of BRKN Love joins the show TL;DR This week on the Loaded Radio Podcast, Aaron Beam from Red Fang joins us to celebrate the band's 20th anniversary and discuss the release of their latest collection, Deep Cuts. Beam dives into the band's beginnings, the process of assembling rare tracks, and the inspiration behind Red Fang's unrelenting sound. Later in the episode, Justin Benlolo of BRKN Love drops in to talk about the band's ongoing evolution and the exciting plans ahead. Red Fang reflect on two decades of sludge-soaked greatness Formed in 2005 in Portland, Oregon, Red Fang carved out a distinct place in the modern heavy scene with their gritty, hook-laden sludge metal. Over the last 20 years, they've delivered one crushing release after another, gaining a reputation for both their anthemic riffs and their offbeat sense of humor. Now, Aaron Beam and the rest of Red Fang mark their 20th year with Deep Cuts — a sprawling 26-track release packed with non-album tracks, covers, demos, and hidden gems. It's a celebration of the band's journey so far, offering longtime fans a treasure trove of rarely heard material that still captures the raw, unfiltered energy Red Fang are known for. On the latest episode of the Loaded Radio Podcast, Beam opens up about the creation of Deep Cuts, shares reflections on the early days of jamming in drummer John Sherman's basement, and talks about what it feels like to still be making music together two decades later. Deep Cuts offers a full throttle dive into Red Fang's evolution From the thunderous opening riff of “Antidote” to the atmospheric shifts of tracks like “Hollow Light” and “Endless Sea,” Deep Cuts showcases the full range of Red Fang's capabilities. Beam notes that the collection captures the oddities, covers, and experimental moments that have fueled the band's evolution over the years. Highlights include their gritty renditions of Wipers' “Over the Edge” and Dust's “Suicide,” as well as fan-favorite deep cuts like “Stereo Nucleosis” and “Black Water.” It's a wild ride through the different textures and tones that have shaped Red Fang's career — from straight-up sludge anthems to more experimental, synth-laced jams. Beam also reflects on how his own musical journey — and the shared history with bandmates Bryan Giles, David Sullivan, and John Sherman — continues to push Red Fang's sound forward even after 20 years. Justin Benlolo of BRKN Love joins the conversation The second half of this week's podcast features Justin Benlolo, the dynamic frontman of BRKN Love. Benlolo and Loaded Radio's Scott Penfold dig into the band's unique blend of hard rock and alternative influences, their songwriting process, and their ambitions as they continue building momentum within the modern rock landscape. With new music and major tour plans on the horizon, BRKN Love are positioning themselves as one of the exciting young acts keeping heavy music alive in a constantly evolving scene.

This week, we received our annual audit visit from corporate! That's right, The Chairman not only graced us with his presence, but he demanded we deliver to you this episode: “Grave Mistake: BÖC Shoulda Been Huge!!!”. One could argue that selling 24M albums would negate “Shoulda Been Huge” treatment. However, when most folks can only name 3 songs by this band, and one of them is due to an SNL skit, we think they fit the bill. This episode is rooted in our Should Have Been category; however, there is a strong case to be made that they've been largely forgotten as innovators and architects of what we know as heavy metal. We think they should be remembered as titans of hard rock and metal! Amin Gulgee defies easy categorisation: he's a metal sculptor, a curator, and one of Pakistan's most innovative and cherished artists, the beating heart of his home city of Karachi's creative scene. His metalwork is as dramatic and eccentric as Amin is. He's in your face, uncompromising, a living and breathing performance piece.Amin also comes from a prestigious family: his father, Ismail Gulgee, was one of Pakistan's most famous modernists, creating abstract paintings that have been exhibited across the globe, and even sketching heads of state like Reagan and Gaddafi. In 2007, Ismail and Amin's mother Zaro were tragically murdered by their driver. It was Amin who found their bodies, in their house which adjoins his own studio and gallery. Much of Amin's work since has been an attempt to come to terms and heal from this most tragic of events.Presenter Harry Stott meets Amin on location in his Karachi studio-cum-gallery-cum-home, as he prepares to open a new museum of his father's work – the ‘most momentous' thing he has ever attempted. We listen in as Amin shows us the calligraphy adorned doors which he has created for the museum's entrance. We go inside his studio to hear about his creative process more widely. And we hear Amin come to terms with the tragedy of his parents' death and the solace that he finds in his workshop.Amidst the tumult of this momentous museum opening in the already tumultuous city of Karachi, this episode of In the Studio attempts to understand how Amin's two year process of creation, curation and healing will change his creative process for the years to come.Presenter & Producer: Harry Stott Co-producer & Fixer: Adam Fahy-Majeed Exec Producer: Sandra Ferrari Sound Design & Engineering: Alan Leer, Lizzy AndrewsA Message Heard ProductionImage: Amin Gulgee (Credit: Humayun Memon)

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions:      Melissa: I am 43, 160lbs 5ft. 6 good amount of muscle. I eat completely clean as in grassfed fed, organic turkey, organic chicken occasionally brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, asparagus and arugula, pickles, saurkraut and kimchi and I only drink water. I do eat a good amount of protein 140ish grams a day. I just got bloodworm and my A1C was 5.6. All other markers were great just that one was high for me not dr. ...why when I don't eat sugar of any sorts! Just recently as in last few weeks started introducing some fruit back in such as apples, blueberries and strawberries but still so confused can you explain?                                                                                                                                                                                               Kelly: Hi Dr. Cabral, I just completed a 7 day detox, love it. Today I started the Heavy Metal detox. Really excited about detoxing my body from toxic metals. I have high Aluminum and mercury and mineral ratios are off. Anyway, Thank you for your protocols. I'm in menopause and suffering from a couple of symptoms. No libido, no sleep, irritable, brain fog, dryness, I'm not the person i used to be in terms of happiness. I used to be happy for no reason, but since menopause I changed. I'm 51. Do you offer help for those symptoms? I want to be a lovely wife as i used to be. At this point I'm even considering taking Bio Identical hormones. Thank you in advance.                                                                                                    Drew: For almost 2 years I have had a pain behind my right eye. It started as a flare up after cutting grass one day. Most of the pain comes in the morning right before I get out of bed. It is a dull ache and sometimes leaves my eye crusty. I have seen two different eye doctors, my PCP, an ear nose and throat doctor, and a neuro ophthalmologist all of which can find nothing wrong. I have had a CT scan as well as an MRI which revealed nothing. Hoping you could shed some light on next steps that I need to take or where I need to look. Thank you so much for all that you do.     AA: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am hoping that you might have some insight. In Oct. I got extremely sick ( maybe covid) with horrible respiratory issues high fever etc. every month since my period has been 3 weeks late and as of one month I cannot eat without pain. The worst symptom is no sleep because of abdominal cramping and severe full body chills ( tingling) the tingling happens all day but is more apparent after ingesting food. I have taken stool tests/blood tests which seemed normal except for low b12 (300/ml) and went for a colonoscopy ( which resulted in the doc. saying I had some inflammation at the bottom end of my colon and it could be ulcerative colitis but didn't say with certainty. ) I am at a loss its been three weeks without caffeine, sugar, wheat, dairy and the symptoms persist.                                                                 Kay: Hello Dr. Cabral- I really appreciate your very informative podcasts! I am taking pregnenolone capsules at night recommended by my physician to help make some of the hormones that decline with age, and also to enhance cognitive function.. I have 2 questions: 1) Should I discontinue this prior to taking my at-home Equilife Stress, Mood and Metabolism test, and if so, by how many days? 2) Is taking this supplement going to make my body "lazy" and produce less of my natural pregnenolone? I've noticed that this helps me sleep better at night- I take this and a very low dose of naltrexone compounded by a compounding pharmacy. I am hoping that the SM&M test will give me clues to rebalancing my hormones naturally so I do not always need to rely on exogenous (and expensive) compounds.
