I also speak from personal experience, including what I've learned from my patient little dog, Pearl, and how she reminded me that waiting can be wise. Sometimes we need rest. Other times we use “I deserve this” as a cover for avoidance. Learning to check in with trusted mentors or reflect prayerfully can help us pause before taking action that might not serve us well in the long run.
